USB 3.0 very slow need brivers please
I have downgraded to windows 7 64bit home premium and been given help on the forums as ive come across needed help all of which has made my lsptop work great again....but ive noticed my USB speeds have dropped to 2.0 speeds unlike before with windows 8,1 when they worked alot faster.
Im guessing its my drivers as when I tried to use my external hard drive 3,0 I got that old....this devicecould run faster if its used in a 3,0 USB slot blah blah blah.
Can anyone help with a windows 7 home premium 64bit USB 3.0 driver?

I take it you tried using the "right click" menu? That doesn't seem to work, as you noted, but, you should be able to paste text by pressing your CTRL key and while holding it down, press the "V" letter key.
CTRL + C = COPY
CTRL + X = CUT
CTRL + V = PASTE

Safari is very slow, needs a long time to open a website

Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.

Time Machine Very Slow (321 Days) Please Help!
Hi all, I've got a 2012 MBP and have had problems with TM since day one.
I'm running all the latest software with a brand new Time Capsule and it states that it will take over 300 days to back up.
I originally used a NAS and TM was very very slow along with having to reformat and start again every few weeks so I gave in and got a TC thinking it would solve my problems but it's returned again.
I've tried reformatting, disabling spotlight, wired and wireless connections, different hard drives and still the problem persists. Occasionally it also fails to find the backup disk so I have to reformat and start again.
It's driving me absolutely insane because despite messing and messing, trying different solutions the problem always seems to return at random. It will work great for a week or 2 then it's back to square one.
Can someone please restore my sanity and help?To update, I got up this morning and it was still stating some 22 days after copying a few gb in 18 hours so I restarted (again). TM then stated it couldn't find the back up disk so I again pointed it to the right disk and it now appears to be stuck again after doing over a gb in a minute or two.

T42 - Vista upgrade - very slow laptop - help please
Hi
I have installed Vista Home Premium on my T42 (previously had XP Pro) and it is now very, very slow. Also it seems to have erased everything IBM - ie -Access IBM button not working.
Type 2373 - f1G, HD 40mb, Memory 500kb.
Do I need to increase hard disk? or memory? or both?
If I choose to reinstall XP Pro, how do I go about it? I do not have the original XP Pro disk and assume it must have been preloaded.
Sorry for the number of questions but I seem to have got myself into a situation over which my expertise is sadly lacking. Beginning to wish I left well alone.
Any help much appreciated.

There are several issues at work here:
a) RAM. You need at least (which is the maximum for your machine, BTW) 2GB for Vista to run properly.
b) Larger/newer/faster hard disk would also help.
c) Please be advised that your GPU is NOT supported by Vista and that you'll have to look for modded drivers on the web, and even with them your scores won't be good.
In my opinion, XP is the way to go for your machine. You can call Lenovo and order a set of recovery disks for a nominal fee.
Should you choose to stay with Vista, go to "support and downloads" page on Lenovo's website, put in your model number and start updating and unpacking the drivers...

Mac suddenly running very slow, need advice on EtreCheck results
Problem description:

Very very slow broadband , someone please help
Hi have come here as a last resort , i have been a bt internet/broadband user for over 10 years have had broadband for a long time , we often in our house have me playing games online on the pc , the kids have the xbox 360 and the mrs will have the ipad all hooked up at the same time with no problems ,
then friday the broadband dropped and we had a orange flashing light ,
it came back on about 5 mins later and ever since it is very very slow , i have tryed resteing and rebooting the router , it connects to the internet just fine but everything is running ar a snails pace , tryed calling them which is a nightmare trying to explaine to a call center guy , they told me to hang up for a line test and they would call me back and havnt bothered
i have done the line test online it it comes back as ok , we have noticed some nose on the phone line from today
can anyone please give me some advice?

the downstream and upstream numbers are both better but it has made no differnace, every page i go to takes ages to load (if they load at all) and the ipad wont load at all , this is now getting silly i have wasted around 6 hrs of my time tonight trying to fix this and now just feel like canceling and ordering from eleswhere as i know the messing i will have to go through in the morning to explaine this from the start to a new call center worker all over again

External USB HD is very slow during SuperDuper backup
I am using an external USB harddisk to backup my iMac. I have formated the disk with a Mac OS X file system and it mounts without any fault.
I am using SuperDuper to copy all my files from my internal to the external harddisk. The throughout I get is something between 11-13 MB/s. This is very slow for USB spec that could be up to 40-50 MB/s.
Anybody has any idea what's going on here how i can improve this speed?Hi aschmid,
the reported throughput of SuperDuper is largely depending on what files are backuped.
Large files usually backup faster than smaller ones.
Just for comparison, backup of approx. 48GB system volume :
MacPro - internal disc to internal disc = about 18 minutes
MacPro - internal to external FireWire 800 = about 25 minutes
iMac - internal to external FireWire400 = about 55 minutes
(The duration are rough, coming from my memory).

My iPad 2 32gb is very slow in response, It's used by my daughter. and has lots apps installed. and had 6gb still unused. If i click on any apps, it takes 2-3 minutes to load. Any app. please suggest how to improve performance.
1. There may be a download stuck in another area such as a song or podcast that is preventing the app from updating.
Go to the iTunes app on your iPad. Check to see if you have any downloads pending there. That pending download may be blocking app updates. If so, delete the item. That may get the app installation going again.
2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then tap the App Store > Updates -

ThanksSorry, but what you write is inconsistent and confusing.
First you wrote 2.5 MB/s and 6 MB/s which means megabyte per second (which is the rate you usually see in Windows Explorer). That translate into 2.5*8 = 20 Mbit/s or 20 Mbps which is megabit per second. There is no "spare" and no "overhead" in this calculation. Transfer rates only count the contents bytes transferred and don't include overhead or anything else.
It's a fact that with a wireless connection rate of 54 Mbit/s you can expect transfer rates of approx. 20-25 Mbit/s.
I suggest you look at it again:
1. What is the connection rate shown for your wireless connection?
2. When transferring files, what is the exact rate shown?
Because I am pretty sure if you carefully look at the units of those rates you'll see exactly what I have posted before:
with wired you get transfer rates of approx. 6-7 megabytes (MB) per second i.e. 48-64 megabit per second (mbps).
with a wireless 54 Mbit/s connection you'll see about 2.5-3 megabytes (MB) per second, i.e. 20-24 megabit per second (mbps) because that's the maximum transfer rate to be expected on a 54 Mbit/s link.
If you had really wired transfers with a rate of 5.4 Mbps, i.e. 5.4 megabit per second that would be very bad in any respect. -
Running very slow since upgrade, please look at ETRE Check
So basically the issue is my computer has really been slow since my upgrade to 10.10. I had read some of the forums and because my Etre Check was showing a lot of problem system launch agents, I decided to reinstall the OS via the Wifi recovery mode. The first Etre check I ran post reinstall showed that all of these were resolved, but since then the Etre check has began to accumulate more and more failures. Any idea what might be causing this. I would really appreciated any feedback greatly. Thanks in advance.

Copying files from an external HDD to another USB source (e.g. flashdrive) slows down my computer to a crawl/freezes it. When this occurs I think the copying process is still going on but goes very slowly.
Another problem is that the power of my external HDD goes off once the PC starts booting Arch. I have to manually pull out the cable and plug it in again. But maybe this is unrelated.
I have no idea how to solve this problem.

No definite solutions however. -
Using USB storage devices very slow in SL
I have two MAC's and use Entourage on both, in order to keep my Microsoft Data Base sync's I have it on a removable storage device which I move from MAc to Mac. Since updating to 10.6.1(SL) Entourage has slowed down to a snails pace and I can only assume that SL is doing something different in handling the USB external storage devices .
Very disappointing and frustrating .....Apple not a good move
