USB 8746 No LIN response to some ID's

Hello, I am using a USB 8746 module for an automotive application, the 8746 is a master. I am successfully sending data to ID's x20 and x30, when I send data to ID 1 I get an error frame for the response (84 0 1 6 0 0 1) The slave is Ver 2.0 LIN spec, I am using enhanced check sum mode. ID 1 is a 2 byte ID and the data appears to be correct before being sent. I am using VB .NET 2010 for the software interface.
Thank You

How are you determining that the data being sent is correct?  If the returned data from the device in question is not as expected, it would seem to be something lost on the device side or the cable to the USB8476.  If you have multiple devices, have you tried it with different 8476s to yield the same result?
In regards to your other question...there is R&D development to natively support .NET in a future release of the NI-XNET driver.  NI-CAN functionality was bundled into the XNET driver so XNET is the future of NI offerings with auto bus communication protocols.  Potentially if you were looking for a drop in device replacement you would use the USB-9866 which supports the XNET driver and is used for the LIN interface.

  • FBL1N - Limit display line itens for some vendors

    Hi All,
    I have a request from business to limit the access for some vendors in FBL1N.
    The idea is to limit the users to do not see the line itens for some vendors.
    Is there some standard configuration? Any suggestion?

    Ricardo,
    My suggestion is to involve a Basis person for this. You need to check the authorization object attached to Vendor line item display transaction FBL1N.
    Then explain to the Basis person the conditions in which certain line items should not be displayed. I am sure this exercise would be of help.

  • Getting multiple line responses to show up in their entirety in the PDF

    I am using a form created in Forms Central that contains numerous multiple line text boxes.  When I create a PDF of the responses received the multi-line responses do not show up in their entirety.  Is there a way to do this?

    You can make those multiline boxes bigger in the Design Tab so that it would fit the whole text then generate the PDF for the responses (this will also change the field size for the form fillers).
    The other workaround is to print the Detail View of the response (View Responses Tab : View > Detail View). The print button is at the bottom of the Detail View.
    Hope this helps

  • Vertical line appearing on some pages in Safari 6 (rMBP)

    I've had my MacBook Pro with retina display (OS 10.8.2) for less than 24 hours and noticed vertical black lines appearing on some pages in Safari 6. I pulled a page up in Firefox and the lines did not show up so it must be a Safari issue. Does anyone else notice this? And is there a fix?

    Same here. Not sure if it happens with other programms as well, but I see it reguarly with safari. Could this be a safari (software) problem, or should I return my mac (still in warranty)?
    Problem is, it happens every now and then, but not often enough (for now) to reproduce the issue on a apple help desk counter....

  • Problem with USB travel keyboard on Windows 7 (some letters become a number)

    Hi
    I have an USB Travel Keyboard with trackpoint and touchpad. Have used for years in XP.
    Now I have bought a new computer, using Windows 7 and Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard.
    After installing Windows 7 I noticed that when I press some keys I get a number instead of a letter.
    I have managed to install drivers for the USB travel keyboard. And can enter the place where I can change speed of TrackPoint etc....
    Now some weird stuff:
    The keyboard actually work if I e.g. enter Internet via "Asus Express Gate".
    (This is a feature with the motherboard which enables me to run some small numbers of applications without having to start windows, thus enabling superfast access to Internet etc.)
    If I let Windows 7 start, then some keys/letters only show numbers.
    To me it sounds weird if keyboard only works in "Asus Express Gate" applications and not in when I e.g. use Internet or any text editor in Windows 7.
    Maybe there is a settings in BIOS that is set automatically when entering "Asus Express Gate", that I might have to set manually to make the USB keyboard work while in Windows 7 (64bit) ???
    I have looked in the BIOS UI without any luck...
    Any suggestions?

  • White lines showing around some of my slices (in internet explorer)

    Hi,
    This is my first time posting, it's an awesome forum. I've put the site up at the url below. It renders fine on my mac in firefox and safari, but on pc in explorer, it is showing white lines around some of my slices. I don't know what is the best way to correct this problem? I'm using dreamweaver CS3. (normally work in print design) I've done the slices in image ready CS2.
    http://www.bulls-eyegraphics.com/
    thanks,

    Hi and Welcome to the DW forum.
    I'm using dreamweaver CS3. (normally work in print design) I've done the slices in image ready CS2.
    I'm afraid most everything you know about print design goes out the window in Web Design.  Print and graphic design is rigid and static.  Web design needs to remain  flexible to accommodate varying amounts of text, increased text sizes, various browser and user settings.
    When I increase text size in my browser, your page content becomes unreadable.  This is typical of Image Ready generated code which is far too fragile for use on a real web site.  Image Ready code is really only good for creating a quick design  comp to show the client.  Use Photoshop for graphics and slicing images. Use DW to build your HTML and CSS code.
    Basic - 3-Image Slices into a CSS based Layout:
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/Image-slices-in-a-CSS-based-layout.shtml
    Advanced - Taking  a Fireworks (or Photoshop) comp to a CSS based layout in DW

    Very Nice looking design BTW.  Good luck with your project,

  • Printing full text of multi line responses in PDF

    I have created a PDF form using Form Central with Adobe XI but saved it as PDF to be sent ot users via email, they fill and send response back. I need to print the filled forms with all responses. Only when I print the filled forms the multiline responses do not print completey, there is some text that gets cut off. How can I print the entire response on the form.
    thanks.

    Go to Form Edit mode, right-click the field and select Properties. The font
    size property can be found under the Appearance tab.

  • A white line in on some of the pages

    Hello, i am making this site as a hobby so im not so professional at DW.
    But i have this white line thru some of the pages of the site.
    On some monitors it doens't show.
    I sliced the image and somewhere there is a fault in it and i can't figure it out...(it drives me nuts!!)
    Pls help. How can i fix this?
    http://www.hummeltieshonk.nl/depeuterspeelzaal.html
    Its on the lower left side.
    TY Karin

    Conditional Comments are not the solution here.  When I increase text size (zoom, text only) in my browsers IE, FF or Safari, the page falls apart with a noticeable white gap on the left side and an artifact on the right.  This happens because the table row is being stretched to accommodate content in the middle cell.  You may need to re-think your design strategy.  Use solid background colors.  Use real text links in the left navigation column instead of image slices, etc...

  • Small horizontal lines next to some images?

    Sometimes some pics after being imported, have short horizontal lines next to keywords before I do anything with the photos. Is Lightroom somehow suggesting keywords that I should apply to these images?
    Thanks.

    Short horizontal lines - like these?
    If so, check if a sub-keyword is already assigned - perhaps you added them in another program.

  • No response on some keys.

    hello
    I experience a funny problem on my Powerbook G4, 12": occasionally, the keys "3", "e", "d", and "c" don't respond. I mean: when they decide to refuse, then ALL of them refuse to work simultaneously, and I don't get them back into kind collaboration. I succeeded a few time to get them back after turning offf the powerbook, and turning it on after a while - but that is not the way I would like to work with it...
    I noticed that these keys are in one line on the keyboard. I thought already about the possibility of some mechanical obstruction, but my experience that it seems to cure if the powerbook is a few minutes off, seems to contradict this.
    Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thomas

    It sounds like a hardware problem to me. You could try doing a reinstall of the system to rule out any software problems, but that fact that it is intermittent and only effects some of the keyboard leads me to believe that it's hardware related. I'd try the reinstall anyway, just to make sure. Beyond that, all I can say is that it sounds like it needs something repaired.
    Just a guess, but the problem could be heat related. See if cooling off the PowerBook without shutting it down restores the use of the keys. You might also try to see if sleeping the PowerBook restores use of the keys; that's at least faster than having to restart it.

  • Questions - Drop Lines & Responsibility, Noise, En...

    Hi,
    I wonder if you could answer a few questions:
    #1 Are BT/OpenReach responsible for the wire from the back of the NTE5 master socket and beyond?
    I believe I am only responsible for anything from the master socket "inwards" inside my home. #151 faults have told me I am responsible for everything within the boundary of my property.
    #2 Our local area is all underground cabling. The phoneline comes under the front gardens (semi-detached), and appears at the wall, middle of both houses. Small circular junction box, line off to each house. The cable from the junction to our house is 6-core white cable, looks suspiciously the same as the internal extension wiring you can buy yourself. Should this quality of cable be used externally?
    #3 There is a second phone line to our home from the junction box, we have never had a second line so presume the previous owners asked for this. The line is not connected, I have removed the wall socket it went to and clipped the cable back. This 2nd line cable is a simple grey 2-core, and I have noticed that it has a break in the outer sleeve, and can see the bare metal of the enclosed cable. Would this be a free of charge visit by an Engineer to remove?
    Background:
    Two weeks ago, I was prompted by failing internet connection to do the quiet line test using a corded phone in the master socket. To say there was noise on the line was an understatement! Unfortunately #151 fault did a line test and reported no problems. Then warned of £130 call out charge, and asked if I wanted an Engineer out. Of course I didn't want to risk it, replacement router seemed to coincidentally arrive when the line noise had subsided.
    Back to testing today, same quiet line test, still have feint noise on line. Nothing spectacular but all the same, I'd rather it resolved.
    #151, same routine. Do a line test, no fault, warn of £130 charge and ask if I want an Engineer out.
    Here lies the rub, I am wondering if the broken second line cable and/or the internal quality cable on their own would be sufficient for an Engineer to visit anyway, ie FREE. Can I get an answer out of #151, no I can't. The ropey answer to question #1 above from #151 leads me to believe I can't get off the call centre script of "do line test, book engineer."
    I wish I was responsible for the line within my property, I could happily remove and replace the cables!
    edit: coincidentally two weeks the weather was very bad, torrential rain and wind. Now it's sunny, calm but **bleep** cold. This "noise" has been on and off over the years, but hasn't caused internet issues until now.

    Apologies, please subsitute "Test Socket" for "Master Socket" in my original post!
    After reading other posts, I am just worried about an Engineer turning up for "line noise" and there being none on the day in question, and thus being on the receiving end of a £130 bill.
    edit: I am trying to ascertain if the outside cables are in fact "an issue", and will lead to a guaranteed free Engineer visit regardless of line noise.
    Well if the noise is still there at the test socket, then there is an external issue somewhere. The "internal" cable used outside does not sound right. It could have water ingress causing all manner of problems.
    In theory, Openreach should do what they call a "Quality Check", at the cabinet and distribution point, especially if its a repeat fault.
    It could be a high resistance connection or corrosion.
    Charging is a difficult issue. It all depends on how the Openreach technician closes their job. Sometime charges can be raised by mistake.
    I would report it as an intermittent noisy phone problem which happens when it rains, and mention the poor state of the external DP (Distribution Point). Do not report it as broadband fault
    With luck they should repace the wiring, and remove any unwanted terminations, which could be introducing noise into the line.
    If the Openreach technician does do work outside, then he should make sure that this is recorded as the possible fault, and not "fault not found (FNF)" or "right when tested (RWT)".
    If that is done correctly, then you should not be charged. You may like to mention it to them

  • Client server null response for some requests!

    Hi, I have a client server application. When run on my local machine it runs fine. However when is put on the unix server some requests come back with null responses. I have logging implemented and the response in the logs is fine but it doesnt get sent back to the client. There is no timeout set either! any ideas?

    If you get an empty reponse (note that you cannot get a null response) then your server is probably encountering an error that is subsequently being caught before any response is written. Check your server code for "catch" staments that throw away the exception.
    If the server does not suffer this problem then your client does.

  • USB-6008 DIO Lines...

    I have a USB-6008 that I'm using to develop an application with. The development language used is C# (.NET 2003 with Measurement Studio 7.0). Right now, I have the device successfully reading from the counter input. Since this program reads rising edges from the counter input, I can get the frequency of the input signal and cause something to happen should the frequency rise above a certain threshold.
    I'm trying to use the Digital port (port0) to set line 0 high if a condition has been met. I can do this when I select 'Dev1/port0' - I get Port 0 line 0 to go high or low. The problem is that I want to have control over lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 - I only have access to line 0 right now on either Port 0 or Port 1.
    Currently I'm using the following imported functions from the C samples included in the NI-DAQmxBase software:
    int result = DAQmxBaseCreateTask("", out dioTaskHandle); // create the DIO task...
    result = DAQmxBaseCreateDOChan(dioTaskHandle, "Dev1/port0", "", 1); // create DIO channel...
    result = DAQmxBaseWriteDigitalScalarU32(dioTaskHandle, true, 1.0, 0, out reserved); // write a 0 to the channel selected
    Just a note about the third line of code - the documentation states that parameter 2 of the 'DAQmxBaseWriteDigitalScalarU32()' function must be set to false. When I use false as the 2nd parameter, I end up getting a return value of -1073807346. I can't find what that error is in any documentation. So, I set this value to true - and it works (I get a return value of 0 meaning success).
    In my development cycle, I've tested for ways to get access to a single line (other than line 0), and found that when I create a DO channel with the value "Dev1/port0", port 0 line 0 is active. When I create a DO channel with the value "Dev1/port1", port 1 line 0 is active. If I try to create a DO channel with a value of "Dev1/port2" through "Dev1/port7", I get a return value of -200170 (Physical Channel Does Not Exist). The documentation isn't very clear on the ports and single lines for digital output.
    My question is - how can I gain access to ALL of the lines of a particular port?
    Thanks,
    tsc

    I just figured out the lines of the port - of course this will happen once I've posted a question. If others run into the same type of problem, here's how to access each individual line of a selected digital port:
    line 0 - 0x01 (binary: 0000 0001)
    line 1 - 0x02 (binary: 0000 0010)
    line 2 - 0x04 (binary: 0000 0100)
    line 3 - 0x08 (binary: 0000 1000)
    line 4 - 0x10 (binary: 0001 0000)
    line 5 - 0x20 (binary: 0010 0000)
    line 6 - 0x40 (binary: 0100 0000)
    line 7 - 0x80 (binary: 1000 0000)
    all lines off - 0x00 (binary: 0000 0000)
    all lines on - 0xff (binary: 1111 1111)
    // create a task...
    result = DAQmxBaseCreateTask("DigitalPort0 Task", out dioTaskHandle);
    // create a channel - I'm using Port 0 in this example)...
    result = DAQmxBaseCreateDOChan(dioTaskHandle, "Dev1/port0", "", 1);
    // turn off all digital lines to the port selected (I do this when starting up)...
    result = DAQmxBaseWriteDigitalScalarU32(dioTaskHandle, true, 1.0, 0x00, out reserved);
    // if I want to turn on the first line (P0.0) of port0, then I send 0x01 as the fourth parameter...
    result = DAQmxBaseWriteDigitalScalarU32(dioTaskHandle, true, 1.0, 0x01, out reserved);
    // if I want to turn on the fifth line (P0.5) of port0, then I send 0x20 as the fourth parameter...
    result = DAQmxBaseWriteDigitalScalarU32(dioTaskHandle, true, 1.0, 0x20, out reserved);
    I hope this will help someone else out using this device and Measurement Studio for .NET.
