USB AM10 Valet no 802.11n in Windows 8.1

Connects at 802.11g OK but the speeds are lacking. Not even an option to enable it under it's properties.
Am I missing something?

AM10 only has drivers for Windows XP, Vista and 7 Operating Systems. No drivers for 8.1. How are you testing the speed of the adapter? Install the adapter on a Win 7 OS and check the speed. Compare the speeds you're getting on both Win 7 and 8.1.

Ok this is what I did and now I have 2 USB Hard Drives
Connected to the 802.11n
(1) USB 2.0 Lacie Porche Design 300gb
(2) USB 2.0 Western Digital 500gb
(3) USB Hub CyberPower (4-Port Hub) Self or AC
I have chosen AC Powered on the USB Hub
One thing I caught was that for some reason the
USB 2.0 Hub was plugged into a Extension Cord (HouseHold)
I unplugged it and put it into a Surge Protector
whether this had anything to do with the problems
before of not being able to add more USB Drives via
A USB Hub I don't know I believe the crucial Apple
Updates of late had the biggest solution to all
things working...!

USB Printing AirPort Extreme 802.11n

I've upgraded to the new AirPort Extreme 802.11n base station and am having troubles printing to printers that worked fine with my previous AirPort Extreme 802.11g base station.
Both USB printers are detectable for set-up in the Print & Fax Preference tab and can be printed to when hooked directly to my computer. They are also detectable for set-up in the Print & Fax Preference tab when hooked via the base station.
So, all set-up and settings are fine. The issue I am having which never occurred before is that the file is sent to the queue but is immediately labeled as stopped and will not print no matter what I try.
I've configured, reconfigured, reset,you name it but with no luck.
does anyone have any answers out there. Please help...

I have had the same issue repeatedly after upgrading to Leopard. I can no longer use my printer (Brother HL-2070N the "network ready one") with my airport extreme router. It used to show up before I updated to 10.5.2, now I can't even get it to show up at all. I reset the base station, unplugged, and then re-plugged in the printer, nothing worked. Then I tried to just delete it from my list of printers and re-add it, but now my computer can't find it! I didn't change anything on my network at all, and I had literally printed something just 10 minutes before I applied the update. Very frustrating for a $180 router.

802.11n under windows

Has anyone had a chance to test an enabled 802.11n card under windows? Im just wondering if I will have n type speeds under windows. I am away from home right now, so I cant personally test. But when I boot into windows, I dont see anything that listed the wifi as an 802.11n adapter. Just wondering.....

Upgrade MacMini to 802.11n

Anyone who knows if it is possible to make an upgrade of the MacMini to support 802.11n?

It means that you'd connect the mini to the new airport basestation with a wire, but use the airport basestation to connect to your existing wireless access point by wireless - which would still be whichever 11x flavor it is now of course. The only advantage of doing that would be if you were currently using an 11n WAP, or have an 11n system in the network you want to connect to.
Is´nt there any USB-Wireless device for 802.11n?
I'm not aware of a Mac compatible device as yet, and to be honest, USB is pretty poor at networking as it is. I suspect that an 11n device would hinder traffic more than it would help it!

Need Recommendation for Windows USB 802.11N Dual Band Card for AEBS

I am building a very large WiFi network to support 100 users. The plan is to use only Dual Band Airport Extreme Base Stations.

The one PC that is running Windows 7 which is the only PC running Windows 7, the rest are XP or Vista has a Atheros AR5007 wireless card keeps dropping connection to the airport. The computer is a HP Pavilion 1448dx. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to fix the signal drop to that computer, all of the other computers are fine.
Yes, please check with either HP or Atheros to see if there is an updated driver for the wireless card.
Another quick question: I was wondering if I could hook up my previous router (Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router) to my Airport Extreme and have the PC's run off the belkin and my mac just run off the Airport Extreme and solve the issue with the one PC dropping connection.
Yes, it may be possible. The Belkin would have to be connected to the new 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) via an Ethernet patch cable and reconfigured as a bridge. In addition, the Belkin's wireless radio channel should be changed to one at least 3-5 channels away from the AEBSn's channel.

Can anyone recommend a good 802.11n card/usb adaptor for a Windows PC?

I'm about to buy a new iMac and an Airport Extreme Base Station, and I would like my wife's Windows XP PC to be able to take advantage of 802.11n, as the base station will be in the living room and our office room (where the new iMac and the PC live) gets a terrible reception with 802.11g (thick interior walls being the main problem).
I've had a look online at various USB/PCI products, but can any of you recommend one that works particularly well with the Airport Extreme?
Perhaps the Airport Express would be the best solution, as my wife's PC has an ethernet card, plus we also have a USB printer in the office that we'd like to share over the whole house?

I would agree with that, go SATA if you're an island. That's what the majority of my system is set up with.
However, I also have a DSR-11 connected via firewire, and I get firewire drives shipped to me by clients, so I need an additional firewire bus. I bought the cheapest fw400 card I could find, and haven't had any issues yet. I think I spent $35 at CompUSA.
Are there issues that would make me want to buy a better card?

802.11n with Bootcamp and Windows xp

My 13 inch Macbook connects to my airport network at 802.11n 5GHz dual bandwidth using OSX but only 802.11g works when using bootcamp and windows. My 802.11n network shows-up on windows as an available network and I can type in my network password but it won't make the connection. Is 802.11n automatically active with bootcamp? I am able to connect at 802.11n speeds to my network using my work's Window laptop and a Linksys 802.11n usb card so I know it works.

Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter not working on Windows 7 64bit

As the title suggests, my laptop (Alienware m17x) is installed with the Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter and Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. I have had several other driver incompatibility issues with Windows 7, but those I have slowly been able to resolve. This however just cropped up after two months of successful use. Yesterday it started failing to connect to the internet, telling me that no wireless connections are available. I live in a dorm, and everyone else on my floor has successful wireless, including my Ipod Touch, PS3 and XBox 360. I called Alienware/Dell Support and we spent hours trying to fix the problem and all look well until I rebooted my laptop this morning and the same issue reappeared. When I reboot my laptop, all I get is a notification that no networks appear in range. If I uninstall the broadcom chip and let windows install it after a boot up it works until the machine is rebooted a second time. I have tried over a dozen windows 7 drivers for the chip, and about half a dozen vista drivers and they all have the same results, works on the first boot, fails every time after that

All I did was section I.a. If the link is down, I copied the only section that I needed to follow out of this guide, in order to get my wireless to work repeatedly without having to uninstall the wireless driver every single reboot. Now it works perfectly,
already connected to a wireless network on startup.
I.a. Disable Device sleep on disconnect
Some newer Nvidia Ethernet drivers have a feature called Device sleep on disconnect. This is the culprit. Normally, it should only put the Ethernet adapter to sleep when the cable is disconnected, but it's buggy and thus kills the wireless connection as
well.
Follow these steps to disable this feature on your Nvidia Ethernet Adapter:
1. Open the Windows Device Manager by hitting Win+Pause, then click on Device Manager on the left side.
2. Double-click on Network adapters.
3. Double-click on NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller (yes, that's the wired Ethernet adapter indeed).
4. Click on the Advanced tab.
5. Select Device sleep on disconnect.
6. Set the Value to Disabled.
7. Click OK and wireless should work again (might require a reboot afterwards, but probably not).

Laserjet 1505 connected to AEB 802.11n via USB keeps timing out after print

I have a HP Laserjet 1505 connected on my AEB 802.11n via USB and shared on my network, on my network are two macs connected via wifi and 3 WinXP PC connected via wire. I have Bonjour and WinXP laserjet drivers installed on all Win PC. Everytime I print from any of the computers, it will print the first time, but when I try printing again from any of the machines, the macs and winxp pc's cannot detect the printer. When I go to airport utility, the printer cannot be detected anymore. I have to hard reset the AEB for it to detect the laserjet printer again. But the same thing happens again after I print out another document. Has anybody encountered this kind of problem. Can anyone help me resolve this?

Here is what I got from HP support :
The driver for the Laserjet P1006 is not available yet for Os 10.5...we are hoping it will be release in the next week or so...please click on the link below to sign up for an email update as soon as it is available..As a workaround, some people have been able to use the 10.4 driver from the cd, but this is not guaranteed to work in all applications therefore the only solution is to wait and install the 10.5 driver.

This would be the correct setting if the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem (one ethernet port).
*Settings I have Enabled*
5 GHz name indicates that you have elected to use the option to assign a separate name to the 5 GHz network. This will allow you to "tell" compatible computers to connect to that network, rather than the slower 2.4 GHz network
Use Wide Channels is recommended for 5 GHz operation.
Interference Robustness often does more harm than good and should not be used unless you know you are in a area with a lot of wireless networks and you feel that your network is experiencing interference issues from a nearby network.

Windows 8 and Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

I hava a Toshiba L650 - 107 PSKI JE and I am having a problem with the my wireless network adapter on windows 8.
My network adapter is Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC and works fine on windows 7. Two days ago I formatted my hard drive and install windows 8. The problem is that for much drivers I keep installing, The wireless keep turned off. There's no way I can move the slide from off to on.
I already tried a lot of drivers from toshiba and from realtek but doesn't work.
I went to see the Network Connections (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections) and the Ethernet is fine, I connect a cable and it is fine, but wi-fi says "Not connected".
How do I solve this problem?

But your problems may be more fundamental. Prior to loading Toshiba-specific programs, you probably need to install something like this.

Windows 7 machine can't see 802.11n network

(I actually have a Time Capsule but since this is a wi-fi question I'm posting it here.)
I have a Dell running Windows 7 (32-bit) that has a wireless dongle. The dongle is supposed to be 802.11n.
However, that computer never connects using n, it only connects at g.
I tried creating separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on the Time Capsule, and the Dell DOES NOT EVEN SEE the 5GHz network. I can stand with a Macbook in the exact same location as the Dell and get a strong 5GHz signal.
Any clues?

My guess is that Win7 "recognized" the device as a Realtek and substituted the Realtek drivers for it. Did your Zonet come with an installation CD ... or provides a web support site? If either, I would strongly suggest, that you use their drivers instead ... and this is a good reason you're only getting access with the 802.11g mode.

Imac Windows 7 802.11n problem

I have an imac 27 late 2011. I have windows 7 running on it. Also i have ASUS router that supports 802.11n up to 150Mps. When i'm trying to set up my router to "n" mode, my imac refuses to connect, saying "couldn't connect to network". In a meantime other devices work flawlessly with the network. So i have to put my router back to "b/g" mode to allow my Imac to use internet, which is very sad bc i have 100Mps internet connection.

Hi,
the usual way of choosing which operating system to boot is to hold down the 'alt/option'-key during boot to get to the Startup Manager.
To boot from your OSX installation DVD you can also use that key or alternatively the 'C'-key.
Once booted from the DVD choose your language and then from 'Utilities' in the Top Menu run Disk Utility to see what is really on your harddisk.
There is the possibility that during the Windows 7 installation you somehow deleted your OSX form the harddisk.
