Usb Audio Codec doesn't work

A few days ago I bought an USB Microphone (Samson G-Track). I don't know why It doesn't work. When I select in Sound/Preferences/Input the "Usb Audio Codec" but It says that there aren't input controls in the device. I tested it at Garage Band but It didn't work. I thought that the mic was defective but when I tested it in my mother's pc (Vista) It worked.
What can I do?

Windows 10 IDT High Definition Audio Codec doesn't work properly on Hp Envy 20d001-la after update

I'm using a Windows 10 just updated pc, Hp Envy 20 d001la, and I'm having problems with my speakers, they work with IDT High Definition Audio Codec driver. It has beatsAudio available, but the bass don't sound the right way, I can barely hear it. It has a low quality sound... the worst quality. This problem isn't new for me, when upgraded to Windows 8.1, also the problem apeared, when the driver released with a new version, specificly for Windows 8.1, but how did I solve it? I only installed the Original Audio Controller found on Hp Support & drivers page (It was designed for work on Windows 8 64 bits). So, I know Windows 10 is newer than ever, and sure of some bugs or little corrections after updating. But when I try to install the Windows 8 Original controller to get the extreme sound quality again, it can't be installed. The problem says: "Operating system doesn't has the requirements" The new drivers have low sound quality (driver Windows 8.1 & Windows 10 versions) If I could install the Windows 8 version driver, I'm sure the sound quality returns. Thanks a lot, I've tried the solution you've given me, (extracted the setup file with winrar on a folder and search for the driver as you said) but an error message shows: "There are not compatible drivers on the selected folder, try with one for Windows x64" It happens with both drivers I have, W8 & W8.1 versions. And also I have other problem, I didn't connect the headphones when trying solving the problem, and when I connected them, a surprise: The speakers didn't shutdown, they continue playing sounds and the headphones and speakers were playing sound at the same time. I've checked for the internal connector and The connector is clean. Then I tried to install W8.0 IDT setup manually clicking on the files extracted, the process finished succesfully, and system restarted, the sound quality came again, but still when I connect the headphones, the speakers don't shutdown and sometimes music stops. The problem is with all versions of driver I tried, the W10 got by Windows update, the found on Device Manager, the W8 , W8.1installed manually, But not worked.I hope in a future upade the problem could be solved, because I listen to music always only on headphones to avoid disturb others. Are you plugging the Mic directly into a USB port on your Mac? Are you certain there are no Mac-specific drivers? "Mac compatible" can mean many things. Is the device OSX 10.5.2 compatible?

Is it possible to update the USB audio Codec??

Hello. Yesterday i bought an ART USB pre-amp for DJing live with, and while it works with my 10.6.4 imac, it doesn't like my Powerbook G4 (10.4.11) - the machine i actually need it to work with! The device apparently comes preloaded with the correct drivers but its showing up as 'USB audio codec DEMO' in the sound settings, and emitting a beep every 30 seconds or so. I've tried speaking to ART who were pretty unhelpful and directed me to Apple. I just need to know if i can work around the codec demo, as i can't upgrade the OS on the Powerbook and my worry is the preamp is just not compatible with the older OS. Any feedback appreciated. If the manufacturer of the device won't help you, why not return the device for a refund and buy another preamp from a company that supports it?
ART's website doesn't offer any System Requirements for your preamp — an extraordinary oversight for any software or hardware developer. Page 8 of the user manual indicates that it should work even with OS 9, and you say it works with 10.6.4, so I presume any in-between version of OS X is also OK. In the end, it's up to the manufacturer to support the buyer of their product, and if they can't or won't do so, they don't deserve your business.

I Mac(OS 10.6.5) Core Audio MIDI doesn't work

I just bought iMac. Problem is Core Audio/MIDI doesn't work at all.
I installed Logic Studio, Battery..but none of them working with MIDI interface.
When I worked with Macbook(OS 10.5) before, there was no problem at all.
I Used Mbox2 for audio interface and mic pre, and master keyboard with USB port as MIDI device.
Now I can't work at all with my music project because of audio/MIDI problem.
I tried to fix it opening Audio MIDI setup but I only get the message saying..
"Required Software extensions are missing"
and when I go to the the page after clicking OK, then it says that I need to get supported by software company for upgrade, which I have the latest version...
also I get the message "Core MIDI quits unexpectedly...".
These two message pop up every time I open Logic Studio too.
I hope solution for this matter.

So, after long work around which failed this is how i made it work!
I think the problem is the latest update of the system (10.6.5) I am back now on 10.6.2 and all is fine : this is how i managed it based on the fact that the whole thing was working fine on my MBP.
1. download a copy of SuperDuper from the net
2.Open MBP and then firewire Target mode the iMac to the MBP
3. with the SuperDuper clone the Hard disk of the MBP to the iMac
This will erase all on your iMac and make its hard disc exactly the same as the MBP; it also makes it bootable.
4.open iMac alone
5. insert the original system dvd for the iMac and install the SnowLeopard system BUT DO NOT UPGRADE
6.restart as demanded and you should be on 10.6.2
with your desktop and hard disk running exactly as it was on your MBP
7 when opening Logic (or the other pro apps like FCStudio pro then you will be asked for your serial numbers which it duly accepts
8. all then should be running fine
Total time depends on size of your MBP hard disk (for me it took c. 3 hours including the reinstall 10.6.2) but all is now as it should be

Thanks for your reply. Realtek audio works only in playback. There is a stereo mix in the mixer but the recording controls are not operable with no sliders in the mixer for any recording option. Slider controls appear to be grayed out. Can't figure out how to enable them. Downloaded newest drivers to no avail.
The M Audio control panel has no apparent option for recording stereo mix. Adobe ignores the sound from the DVD or CD and shows flatline.
I'm trying to record the sound from the DVD not rip the track.
When I go to Audio Driver Setup and select Audition 3.0 windows sound, there is no input device installed.
I'm thinking of going back to a decent internal Soundblaster card like I have on my 8 year old machine I am replacing.

USB Audio Codec DEMO driver

Good afternoon. Today I bought a mixer Allen & Heath Xone 42. I am having problems connecting the mixer to my laptop. I use Mac Os Lion 10.7.4. When you connect the system uses the USB Audio Codec DEMO driver. Sound enters the mixer, but is accompanied by a constant beep. Every 30 seconds. This is the way and makes the mixer unfit for entry. Please help me resolve this issue.
on the Internet found several similar complaints. Advised to remove the codec. But how to do it, I do not understand.

USB Audio CODEC not being recognised.

I have my my Wharfedale 802 mixer plugged into my MAC Mini (late 2012), Processor - 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory - 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, via USB however it is not being recognised as USB audio CODEC what so ever. I have also tried searching for this to set the outputs in Logic and it is not recognised there either.
I have just updated my iOS to Yosemite 10.10.2 and also my Logic X does anybody know why my mac is not recognising my USB audio CODEC for an input or output?

I just posted this problem I had also. The USB audio Codec is for PPC macs only. I couldnt get a PYLE USB cassette deck to work in AUDACITY because it needed that codec.Windows users use this codec for many devices including the one you are trying to connect.

I have come to the conclusion that this codec only worked on Macs that used PPC chips,not Intel Macs.Apple must have dropped it when switching to Intel.No where on the net can I find anything about this codec on newer mac OS's and newer Macs.
Judging from this user's comment and others,they are working with OSX10.4 or newer OS that has PPC support like the first Mac Pro and other PPC's.I think the comments below answer my own original question.Hope this helps anyone with the same kind of problem with USB devices that need USB audio CODEC.
In Audacity prefs, I selected:
"USB Audio CODEC" for both Input and playback.
I even tried lower sample rates and such. Record button stays grey and readouts don't show any input whatsoever even though I am sending a signal.
Mac is a 533Ghz g4 (Digitial audio) running 10.4.11
It is plug into a USB port on back of machine.

Usb audio codec mono only

I am trying to connect usb record player. Apparently the usb audio codec that loads is mono only and shows up as being used with a usb mike. I am using an HP Touchscreen model IQ526 with Vista 64 bit OS. Is there another driver that can be downloaded or another solution to the problem?? rayful27

USB Audio Codec can't be found...

I have a USB Dual Pre and I can’t record any audio into my software because my ‘USB Audio Codec’ is gone or not showing up. Any way to get it back? Or is there any other way to record using my usb input now?

Distorted recording with QuickTime 7 using USB Audio CODEC

I am running Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.8 with all the latest update from Software Update which includes QuickTime 7.1.3.
I am using QuickTime Broadcaster to stream back to itself (loopback) and record to disk at the same time. The input audio device is set to USB Audio CODEC (the default driver that comes with Mac OS X Tiger, and I am using an Alesis MultiMix 16USB mixer on a PowerMac Dual Core G5). I am using MPEG-4 Audio compression (no Video) of 16-bit, 44.1kHz and 128kbps (stereo).
The problem is that sometimes I get recordings (ranging from 1.5 hours to 2.75hours long) with distortion. Here is a short 20-second audio clip with distortion-free audio for about 6 seconds and then distortion sets in:

Whether it overlays on top of the original audio or replaces it, I cannot tell, but the transition is instant and smooth with no audible clicks or pops. The distortion can come in and go randomly. For example, I had one recording with distortion coming in at about 2 minutes plus and it remained until about 2hr10min when the distortion went away. Sometimes it didn't go away; other times it came in about an hour later. I also had once where the distortion last only for about 6 minutes somewhere in the middle of a 2.25 hours recording...all in all, it occurs at random. And I do get distortion-free recordings.
This problem also occurs on an iMac G5 with a Alesis MultiMix 12USB mixer, and in another Vara Software's Videocue PRO software which uses QuickTime for recording and playback. QuickTime 7.0.x and all versions of 7.1 also had this problem.
Because of this problem, I may need to use a convoluted method to stream and record to disk via QuickTime. By the way, I also tried streaming to another local subnet IP address just as a troubleshooting without success.

Using OS 10.4.8, QT7.1.3, & Adobe Premiere 6.5 on a G4.
After I down loaded QT 7.1.3, my problems started. Is this when your problems started too?
Audio is in "slow motion" sound when editing. On rare occations, it sounds correct for 10 sec or so but sync is out and eventually reverts to "slow motion" sound. Even more bazar, when viewing a clip in a thumbnail preview, it works fine. So I know the orginal is good.
My contention is QT is causing this. All I want is my previous version of QT back. I think this might fix your problem too. Unfortunately, there is no reinstall that I can find that takes QT 7.1.3 off and puts QT 7.1.1or2. The reinstall QT 7.0.3 which is on the Apple website will not restall.
Looking for a reintall that will take QT 7.1.3 off, help anyone?

USB audio Codec bug in Leopard

Does anybody know when Apple are going to fix the "USB audio codec" bug in Leopard? I has a USB mic that get a annoying scratchy noise after 5-10 minutes when I record in Garage Band and Logic.

USB Audio CODEC replacement sw

hello all,
As it is demonstrated in the thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1129950&start=0&tstart=0 in the GarageBand discussion section, many users experience an intolerable static when using USB Audio CODEC for sound input. This was not the case in earlier versions and the consensus in that thread seems to be that something happened in OSX 10.4.11 that broke the codec. Since who knows when this will be fixed, I am wondering if anyone knows a source for an alternative, e.g. from some Linux source etc. I have been using an old Cube and I have no other way to get sound in but thru the USB port (methinks, or is there? FW?)

Distorted recording with QuickTime using USB Audio CODEC

I am running Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.6 with all the latest update from Software Update which includes QuickTime 7.1.1.

USB Audio Codec

Compaq Pressario 5220, Windows Vista, 32 bits (approx. 3-4 years old)
I bought a USB gramophone record player with a USB connection. This does only operate with a USB Audio Codec which I am supposed to find under Control Panel, Sound, Record.
Alas!
Any ideas on where to find/acquire such a codec?

I have a Pyle USB cassette tape deck that needs this codec also to work with Audacity.I'm out of luck with the USB connection and have to connect it via RCA plugs to miniplug into Line In.

Attached is a screenshot from Audacity and it shows the USB Audio Codec. I was pulling my hair out,wondering why I couldn't see it in my audio sound setup in OSX 10.6.8 on my black Macbook.I couldn't find it in my system anywhere.This attachment showing the codec installed MUST have been done on a PPC G3,4 or 5. Nowhere does it exist on Intel Macs.
