Can you please tell me from where I need driver so that my "Fn" key will be operation? Right now I tried to use "Fn" with F6 and F7 which suppose to change screen resolutions but nothing is happening.
Can you please tell me if I reinstall New OS (Windows XP - Sp2) then in which order which driver and Toshiba software I should install?
Hard to find XP drivers and utilities for that machine, Manoj. But you're in luck because the Asian part-number family PTA83L corresponds to the European PTA83E.
Go to the European download site and look up the Tecra A8 with Short Model No. PTA83E. You'll find 40 XP drivers, utilities, and BIOS updates.
Install the Chip Set Utility first, then the Display Driver, and then the other major drivers. Install the Common Module prior to Toshiba utilities and other programs.
    Good luck!

  • USB Audio Device sometimes not detected. udev, maybe?

I am using an external usb audio device which I usually keep plugged into my machine.  I am finding that this device is sometimes not being detected when I boot the computer.
When this happens, issuing the following command:
    $ aplay -L
does not list this particular device.  Plugging and unplugging the device does not seem to help.
What does seem to resolve the problem is unloading and then reloading the snd_sub_audio kernel module.  This is done by issuing the following commands:
    # rmmod snd_usb_audio
    # modprobe snd_usb_audio
Could anyone give some insight as to why the usb audio device isn't being detected and why this only happen occasionally?  Could this be a udev issue?  The device in question is an M-Audio Fast Track Pro.

  • USB audio device no longer working w/ new kernel

    Hi, all--
I have a Creative SoundBlaster Live! 24 external USB audio box which I have been using for probably 3 years--with Arch Linux and without any significant trouble. Suddenly, after a full system upgrade (so that I am now running the 2.6.27-ARCH kernel), it is not working. Alsamixer doesn't detect it, and the power LED on the box is dark (it draws power through the USB connection).
So far, the only relevant info I have found is in /var/log/messages. For USB connections I primarily use an add-on USB card plugged into a PCI socket (it's an Adaptec USB 2.0 card ... I can find more specifics if needed). That card has 2 ports, and I usually have the USB audio box and an external hub plugged into it. I currently have a printer plugged into the external hub. The hub and the printer were successfully detected at the last bootup, but

  • Lenovo Thinkpad E530 - USB 3.0 Ports Not Working Code 10

Hi everyone, so I own a Lenovo E530 with Windows 7 and just earlier today I plugged in my optical mouse into it, about 10 minutes in, Windows gave me a "not enough power message" for my USB 3.0 ports on the left side and they just stopped working. I have 3 USB 3.0 ports on the left side of the laptop, and one USB 2.0 on the right which works just fine.
From there it gave me Code 10 for Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface in the Network Adapter section (which I was able to fix via a registry change) and now what is left to fix is the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller which I cannot seem to fix. I have tried the uninstall/reinstall processes, with Intel's own drivers and Lenovo drivers which were just older version of the Intel USB 3.0 drivers, over and over yet it is still stuck on Code 10, where it will not start.
I never really overused the USB ports either, aside from plugging in a portable USB fan and portable hard drive here and there, and a USB dongle for a wireless mouse and keyboard (Logitech all-in-ones), that is pretty much all I have done with it. I do not believe the ports are not bad or anything, although it may be a hardware problem, but all 3 USB ports still give power on my fan and external HDs when I plug it in, it is just that Windows does not recognize it and nothing happens when I plug something into. But on the other hand, the USB 2.0 port reads just fine and recognizes everything. I have also tried the Troubleshooter multiple times, but everytime it tries to reinstall I get the "Failed" message.
Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about.
    http://i.imgur.com/mKqWpFU.png
    http://i.imgur.com/RLkbyHY.png
I have tried reinstalling and uninstalling the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for W7 using the ones listed on the drivers page through Lenovo and using the newest version fround on Intel's webpage as well. Having done these I still could not get it working, so I did a full reformat of the Hard Drive, from there I am able to get the USB 2.0 and 1 of the 3 USB 3.0 ports to work (the very top one above/left of the HDMI port) and recognize devices when I plug them into Windows. But this is working through not having the USB 3.0 Driver installed and just the basic one without having any updates/drivers installed on. Once I install the USB 3.0 Driver back it, it goes back to the original problem.
The problem still persists even though I have done multiple reformats, uninstall/reinstalls, updating to newest drivers and BIOS, etc. I have owned and still own a whole family of Lenovo laptops which still work perfectly fine, but this is the first time I have seen anything like this go wrong in a laptop. Is there anything else I can try to fix this problem? The laptop just went out of warranty a few months ago, and if I were to send it in and get it repaired would it cost me a lot?

  • The audio device is not working in my brand new hp

I bought the pavilion f4j02la and after 10 days of using it, out of the blue, the sound speaker on the desk appeared with an "x" as if I had put mute on it. It appears to be no device no more and the automatic "help" that searchs for the problem and then fixes it, says that it can't fix anything and that probably one or more  audio services are not being executed. It is still brand new.
So far i've tried downloading a bunch of new drivers, uninstalling the ones I already had, restarted the computer, erased evertything I had and try to set it back as when I just bought it... and this support hp is unreacheble.
I'm all the way to Germany where I just found out they are not in the market... so, if anyone has any idea how can I fix this I will really really appreciate it.
    Thank u

  • Pls help! USB Storage Devices does not work for K7N2 Delta-L

    hi all,
I am pulling my hair out trying to resolve this issue.
Everytime i plug in a USB Storage Device/Thumb Drive(eg Creative NOMAD), my system gives an error saying task cannot be performed due to a I/O device error.
Yet, the USB ports work well with other USB devices like mouse, keyboard, USB sound cards, printers and so forth??!!
I am using WinXP SP1 and have installed the patch that comes on the CD driver. Pls help me out if you know the answer. ...
    Thanks!
    Les

I'm pretty much going to confirm the same going with compatibility issues here...there is still alot of hardware out there on the market that is incompatible with many other types of hardware...
We've reached the day when alot of us like to think that ALL manufacturer devices should work flawlessly with everyone else's devices on the market. This just isn't the case and I don't ever see this being the case. Ideally it would be nice but the fact is is that no company can "cover all the bases" in this respect. There are literally hundreds of thousands of hardware mfg's out there now and this cannot be a reality unless the PC world goes Apple. Same standards for all period. No fluctuation or ability to expand on new ideas without going to the "Standard Setting Company" directly for full testing capability.
Regardless of that fact, I'm kinda surprised that you can't get this device to work on your rig. Have you tried a fresh install of XP? Have you tried using a PCI USB device to see if the MB ports are bad? Could be that the MB has a problem that doesn't show until you use that device...many things to try here to troubleshoot your problem.

  • Usb audio device support in Mavericks

It seems everywhere I look USB audio devices do not work (or do not work well at all) with Mavericks.  With yet another OS X update coming I'm nervous that developers will be even further behind Apple's USB audio chaos.  Does anyone know what may be on the horizon?   I'll have to downgrade if this there's no remedy.  I'm amazed there's so little support in Mavericks for USB audio - especially since all new Macs have no distinct mic input.

Do you have a question, otherwise your post comes across as a rant.

  • Windows 7 x64 USB AUDIO DEVICE - Device Not Working - Mac Pro

I have a mac pro early 2009. I had vista x64 installed, everything was great. I had 2 audio devices under device manager, one was listed as HD (digital) and one device was listed as analog audio.
When I played games and wanted the external speakers (using the digital out connection) I had the HD (digital) audio device enabled.
When I played games and wanted to use a headphone/microphone combo, I had the analog audio device enabled.
Switching between the two was as easy as clicking the audio device icon and clicking on whichever device I wanted.
Now that I installed windows 7 x64, I have a HD (optical out) device in device manager and it works perfectly. Unfortunately, I also have another device listed called "USB Audio Device" and it shows a yellow exclamation mark next to it and it is NOT working properly.
I tried many suggestions on here, which included downloading the cirrus logic audio driver and picking different models, as well as trying the snow leopard install disk driver for cirrus logic, and even tried installing the realtek analog driver. The closest I got to getting anything to work was installing the realtek analog driver. It installed fine up to the point when windows said "this driver is not tested, do you wish to install it anyway?" and I click yes, but then it pauses for a few seconds and the same message comes up again and repeats in a endless loop until you say "no, do not install driver" and then it does a uninstall of the driver.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so were you able to fix it?
    Thanks

You can ignore USB audio, you want RealTek HD Audio. There are or can be some of those yellow alerts that are safe to ignore. Buried somewhere in Apple Support BootCamp technotes.
You can use installer from Realtek or zip file in which case just uncompress and update the driver from inside Device Manager. Nice thing, you can rollback a driver if you want to, or totally uninstall and then reinstall.

    Hey there wche5,
I found some information over on this thread may be beneficial to your situation. This controller enables USB over wireless as part of the Intel (WiDi) Wireless Display function. To obtain a fix you will need to go to the Intel Site, and run the Intel Driver Update Utility. This should identify any Intel drivers you have that are out of date, including the WiDi driver.
Other threads on the forums point directly to this driver by Intel that typically resolves the problem, found on this thread at the end.
I hope this able to assist you in getting a solution to your issue, Thank You wche5!

Are mobile internet USB devices still not working on Snow Leopard? I actually had to go back to my previous operating system to get this to work. I would however prefer to use Snow Leopard...if Apple & HUAWEI have finally got their act together!

There appears to be a problem with drivers for USB wireless modems with 10.6. I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard and now can't connect to the internet with my wireless modem. I hope Apple sort this out soon. Or maybe it's Huawei that needs to put a 10.6 driver into its software.
