USB Audio Driver

While attempting to troubleshoot a usb audio problem, I downloded and installed some horrible third party usb audio driver that overwrote the driver that comes standard in OSX.
I've got the third party driver uninstalled, but now have no USB audio driver at all. Is there some way to reinstall the generic USB audio driver that comes bundled with OSX?

I installed this driver, which somehow replaced the generic usb audio driver.

I'm digging around in my install cd using pacifist. Any Idea where the audio driver might be?

  • USB Audio Driver need in Digital Audio playback of iPOD in IUI Mode

In iPOD User Interface Mode for playing the Digital Audio from iPOD using USB, does the complete USB Audio Driver needs to be created or is it enough to set the sampling frequency of the USB ISO endpoint.

Hi! Did you ever find a solution for this problem? Bought an SB Li've! External just yesterday and on a clean install (Windows XP SP2) I'm having the exact same problem.
Edit: By switching the USB port from 2.0 (Hi-Speed) to "normal" (USB .x) in the bios I got rid of this problem! Hope this might be of some help to anyone!Message Edited by yuzz on -04-200706:37 PM

  • USB Audio Driver Problem fixed in 10.5.3?

Reading through quite a few topics on this forum, I know many people are experiencing problems with USB mixers/audio-recording devices and Macbook Pros running anything Leopard. The general consensus (which I agree with based on my own experience) is that it is a problem with the driver beginning in 10.5.
I know the 10.5.3 updates mentions a fix for video/audio USB playback problems, but has anyone using a USB device (to do podcasts, recording music, whatev) downloaded the update? Does it work? I hesitate to considering what the upgrade to Leopard did...

I am also having this problem. Short bursts of static using a USB audio device on my Core 2 Duo Mac Mini.
I am using a Tone Port (the GX and UX1) both exhibit the same problem. Even just playing back an MP3 I may get a burst of static while listening. I never had this problem before.
2 things have changed. The Tone Port Driver and The Tiger Update to 10.4.11
Before I realized it may be an issue with 10.4.11, I reloaded Tiger, got all the updates, then installed the latest drive for the Tone Port. Same issue. I even upgraded to 4 GB of RAM, (for different reasons).
Anyway. I would really like to know if 10.5.3 or higher fixes this. Although I hate Leopard, I would be willing to go there if it resolved this issue.
****, I thought MACs were supposed to be the **** when it came to audio and video. I guess it is all hype.

May you explain the way you 'loaded iWork 08' on the machine ?
What you wrote isn't sufficient to understand what you did.
    (1) if you applied the original installer, it's necessary to apply the late updater (iwork 8.0.3 if I remember well)
    (2) if you copied the app from an other machine, you were supposed to copy also the folder :

  • Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver Scarlett 2i2 in Premiere CC2014 not working

    Hi everybody.
I just recently upgraded to CC and cannot use my Audio Interface with it.
    Info:
    i7
    Windows 7 Ultimate
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, drivers up to date
Premiere Pro CC 2014 up do date
    GeForce GTX Titan
In CS6 i have set the audio hardware to Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver.
    ASIO Settings:
    Buffer length 10
    In Latency is 19,6
    Out latency is 28,9
    Sample Rate 48000
...and it works like a charm.
In CC 2014 however, i can only use Premiere WDM sound.
If i choose the Focusrite, my sequence won't play. I can still scrub but with no audio.
    Also recording does not work.
I often have to punch in layout-voiceovers for timing and need this to work, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
    thank you all!

Premiere Pro is not the best with USB audio.  Sometime it works, often it doesn't.  My recommendation is to skip any type of USB audio and only use real audio connections.
    Thank you for your input.
I am using this setup in CS6 and it works great but could not get it to work with CC. So i can't just settle with "skip any type of USB audio".
    Anyway, i figured it out:
I chose Premiere Pro WDM sound instead of the scarlett and in the ASIO settings chose the Scralett as input. works just how it's supposed to now.

  • USB Audio Codec DEMO driver

Good afternoon. Today I bought a mixer Allen & Heath Xone 42. I am having problems connecting the mixer to my laptop. I use Mac Os Lion 10.7.4. When you connect the system uses the USB Audio Codec DEMO driver. Sound enters the mixer, but is accompanied by a constant beep. Every 30 seconds. This is the way and makes the mixer unfit for entry. Please help me resolve this issue.
on the Internet found several similar complaints. Advised to remove the codec. But how to do it, I do not understand.
In support of Allen & Heath wrote the following:
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

But this mic is for Mac too. It's says that you "plug and play". I bought this microphone to record my music work at home.

  • Extigy usb audio ASIO driver trial version won't uninst

I installed a driver to enable ASIO that had a trial version that beeps every 30 seconds until you purchase the verification key code. I decided to try something else, possibly another soundcard with ASIO already installed (although the driver does work) and proceeded to uninstall the driver (usb-audio.com). It said there was an error uninstalling, to re-boot and try again. I tried this multiple times. I re-installed the Extigy software and drivers but the system info still says that the old driver is the main one ("manufacturer" usb-audio.com) AND THE BEEPING WON"T STOP!! It's driving me insane!! I sent a message to the manufacturer but have not heard back. I would rather just buy a new soundcard with ASIO than pay for a third party driver but would use this one or another if anyone knew where a free one is. Someone PLEASE help! The beeping won't go away unless I unplug the sound card!
    Thanks!
    Todd

Oh, you'll look for whatever string the driver you installed gave you. For example, when I once tried to install the nForce Audio drivers on my Sigmatel Sound card (which didn't succeed), I ended up with an extra item called "Nvidia ASIO". Creative's ASIO drivers show up as the following:
    Creative ASIO
    SB Audigy 2 ASIO
    SB Audigy 2 ASIO [24/96]

  • PORTABLE USB HARD DRIVES HDTC710XK3A1 SUPPORT - BACKED UP DELL PC AUDIO/DRIVERS & OVERWROTE EXT HDD.

Hello, I recently purchased an: Toshiba Canvio Connect 1TB External USB 3020 Portable Hard Drive Black SKU: 8914951 from BestBuy for$59.99 +Tax.
I used this drive to backup all of my important files from my Old PC since I purchased a new Dell System. Recently, with my new Dell system, I attempted to make a DRIVERS backups to my External HDD, thinking that it would create the necessary folders on the external drive, which it did not. Instead, it turned my 1TB drive into a 31.9 GB sized APPSDRIVERS (W) drive.
I have since lost all mappings to my 1TB drive and files included on the drive. Is there any reliable help or support for this? I would like to have my HDD back to the way it was, please.
    <br>
I tried calling the Toshiba number, but they are all in the Philippines and told me to go to: KBB.TOSHIBA.COM to reformat my hard-drive. They told me that if I didn't like that answer to hang up and call back and speak with another agent, who would tell me the same thing and give me the same links. Thank you in advance for assistance. --Davio

    Portable USB Hard Drives HDTC710XK3A1
I reformatted using Disk Management. Toshibas website says there is no softrware to install??
The Toshiba External hard drives are plug-and-play devices.
That simply means (like for any USB external hard drive) recent versions of Windows include the drivers for it. They were first introduced to Windows 95 by OSR 2.1 in about 1996.
But you are apparently interested in the backup (NTI Backup Now EZ) software that's included. You can get that here.

But that's about the worst free backup software I've ever seen. I certainly wouldn't bother with it

  • How do I get my MacBook Pro, running OS10.9, to recognize USB audio?

The audio source I'm using is an M-Audio Audiophile USB box.
I tried downloading the driver from here:
    http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support&tab=driver&serie_ID=6&PID=41cf7347b2 0eff77b69588578a74aa58&OS=x114#tabs
But when I double-click the executable, it says it won't launch because it's from an "unidentified" developer.
In desperation, I then tried this:
    http://download.cnet.com/USB-Audio-ASIO-driver/3000-2120_4-6405.html
But it appears to be designed for Mac OS9, and won't open.
Any ideas?  I can't imagine the modern OSX10.9 operating system simply won't support USB audio sources.
    Thanks.

In the system preferences under the security & privacy section click the Lock icon and type in your password. Then in the section for "Allow Apps downloaded from:" area tick the Anywhere entry. Your app and drivers will now install.

  • How do I browse & play .mp3 files from a USB flash drive using Labview 8.0?

I'm a tester & want to test USB flash drives connected to PC.
I want to browse the file system & playback the audio files, .jpeg files etc in the USB drive. I've Labview 8.0. When I searched for some examples or VIs which can detect the USB flash drive, couldn't find any. So if you could point me in the right direction, I can find a solution to my problem.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You probably won't find specific examples for this.  A USB flash drive is mounted by the OS and appears as a new memory storage device to all software on the PC, including LabVIEW.  You can certainly write a LabVIEW program to open files on the stick and play/run them but I would create a VI that wrote files to the stick and then read them back and checked them for bit-level errors.  Keep in mind that your OS might be doing parity checking under the hood which would make your test rather meaningless.
BTW, testing memory by looking at pics or listening to MP3s would be useless of course.  A human can't see or hear bit-level errors in a high bandwidth data stream.

  • USB Audio Device Not Recognized by Stream 7 tablet

Half the reason I bought the Stream 7 was to use it has a music player with my iBaso D2 USB Audio DAC Headdphone Amp.
The device is recognnized by my Win 8.1 desktop and every other computer I've plugged it into.  Why it is not recognized as an audio playback device is beyond me.  I've tried all of the suggestions that I've been able to find on the net without any luck.  Is therte some reason why this function has been disabled on the Strwea 7?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Problem Solved!
It turned out to be a combination of the usb cable and the OTG USB hub.  On my desktop the iBaso was cable specific as to the device being recognized.  When I tried the working cable witht the OTG hub on the Stream 7 it failed as usual.  But when I tried the cheap monoprice adapter it worked.
The usb audio solves the horrible sound problem with the Stream 7 for anybody who is lookiing for a Fix.
The OTG hub works with a mouse and  a mSata drive perfectly but not with the iBAso DAC.
Thanks to everyone who replied for keeping me trying.

  • No Digital Output available in Playback devices (USB audio device)

If one has USB audio device with coax/toslink out, with proper drivers (like ie TurtleBeach Micro Advantage) available & installed then Digital Output is available to select in Playback devices. (and one can play AC3/DTS to external amplifier with ie
VLC or MPC-HT with AC3Filter DS filter)
But some USB devices (ie Phonic Digitrack -
http://www.phonic.com/en/digitrack.html ) do NOT come with drivers (as Windows has default build in). Digitrack uses TI
    Burr-Brown USB Audio Codec 2906 -
    http://www.ti.com/product/pcm2906
Sadly these Windows drivers do NOT have a clue about what the device actually has as inputs/outputs
So even it had coax digital out & the sound IS send via it, the actual data send is in right way, not recognized/played correctly by Digital Amplifier (AC3/DTS)
Does anybody know of a hack to make Digital Out available?
    Seb

    Hi,
Generally speaking, An Audio Device do need more driver besides USB driver to make itself work properly. In terms of your situation, USB driver is not enough to make your Audio Device works properly.  I think S.Sengupta
is right. Actually it would be better to contact Digitrack support to confirm its product compatibility with Windows 7.

  • External Usb Audio Card Popping and Cracking sound with Satellite L500

    Greetings,
My name is Boyan and I am from Bulgaria and about an year ago I've bought a satellite laptop from the l500 series ( i can not state which exactly is the model at the moment because my computer is not currently with me and on my user manual the only thing which is stated is that it is for L500/L505/ L500D / L505D . But by memory I think it was the Satellite L500D-ST5506 which is currently not at my dispossal because I gave it for repair for the same problem which I will state down below)
The problem with my laptop is that when I plug a Usb Audio card in my laptop I have a cracking sound when live sound is played trough the speakers/headphones from the external card. I've tried numerous audio cards and speakers/headpohnes which work perfectly fine with other computer, including laptops but the same problem keeps on showing up in the headphones/speakers of my laptop when I am using an external audio card to connect them to the laptop.
The problem is prominent only when the sound signal passes trough an external audio card and it is very annyoing since I use my laptop to create music and i've bought an expenssive audio card and speakers which can not be used with the laptop. I've tried 3 models of audio cards:
    M-Audio Fast Track Pro
    Behringer uca 222
and a simple external 3d sound usb audio card and the problem still appears.
At first I thought that the problem should be software and I should install new drivers although windows 7 automaticaly recognizes and intalls the drivers for the devices and I have sound in them (but with cracks and popps) so i tried using the official drivers sold to me with the audio cards but with no luck: The problem was still there. I tried finding new drivers of the audio cards on the official distributors websited and i've downloaded them but the problem was still there. Then i tried to delete every audio driver on my computer and just use the external audio card for sound but this dint help eighter. I've updated my drivers for my build-in audio card as well but again - no luck.
After that.the frist thing I did when (2 weeks after i bought the laptop) was to contact the store from which i bought my audio card and they stated that the problem may be eighter latency or high voltage from the laptop so they adviced me to try to lower the latency from the settings or to try and see if the problem remains if my laptop is only running on battery. I've tried both things and they didn't help. The audio cards worked without a problem on every other computer I've tried them on except mine. So they said to me that the problem couldnt possibly be from the audio cards .
What I did next was I gave my laptop to the official distributor of toshiba in my country so they can fix my problem. What they said to me was that the problem is caused from the version of windows which was pre-installed on my laptop and that it wasnt compitable with the audio cards (which was bizzar sounding because I've tried them on the same windows and they've worked, just on other computers). So I got back my laptop and changed my operating sistem from Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32bit and on all of those versions the problem was there: whenever I activate a Usb Audio Card and audio signal passes trough it I heard cracks and popps. I even tried isntalling Windows XP but the laptop wants spesific SATA drivers for the installation of Windows XP which although i did find - they didnt help me install XP and I didn't want to go in to the BIOS of the computer to try to put a new one and so on because I am not so sure about that and I could lose my warranty so I said to the official repair store for Toshiba in my town to put XP on my computer to fix the problem but they can't because they are not liscened to operate with software which doesn't have a recipt for its purchase ( which i didnt because i bought my windows xp long ago and i've lost the recipt)
I gave it for repair for the second time telling them that the change of my operating system did not solve my problem and what they did was they changed the whole motherboard on my computer, stating that the build in realtek audio device on my computer is not good enough to support an usb audio card or it maybe broken and they have to change the whole motherboard because the build in card is glued to it, so they did that but my problem wasn't solved. They told me that although I am using and external usb audio card the signal still passes trough my internal one and I have to disable it so i tried disabling it trough the control panel but this did not solve the problem and i do not have an option from BIOS to disable my build-in audio card. Another thing which I thought maybe causing the problem is that the two audio cards aren't working on the same bit rate and Hertz so I set both cards to 16 bit 48000hz DVD Quality (Also tried other options on the 3 cards i have) but...the same thing happend.
They told me that this is just my luck and that the build in audio card doesn't support this external audio cards and I should had been more careful when choosing my laptop at first.
I couldn't accept this awnser for several reasons:
    1) This audio cards work on lower version of windows and are supported by much older models of Realtek and much older computers (one of them was bought 2000!!!!! and my laptop is from 2010!!)
    2) The guys who were fixing the problem apperantley didn't go in so deep in to my problem because they didn't know what actually the problem was they just knew that there is a problem with the audio card and the computer interacting with eachother, they didnt know that there is cracking during live play from the external audio card.
    3) I can not accept the fact that Toshiba is manufacturing models with chipset audio cards which can not support a simple external Usb Audio Card. This is totally unacceptable for me and I truly hope this is not the case!
4)They didn't try my audiocards on an other laptop from the same series stating that they do not have one at their dispossal at the moment so I will go tomorrow to a local store and try the audio cards by my self on the same computer in the store.
What I did now was I gave back my laptop for repair asking for a statement of the problem in wrtting with all details of the problem so I can go to court or ask for a new laptop but I will be charged with some money because according to them there is no problem in the laptop and the problem is that my external audio cards arent compitable with the build in internal chipset audio card. If I give my laptop for repair and there is no hardware problem I will have to pay some money. I will do this but I am now mad, since this will not solve my problem and I am loosing time and money.
What I am asking here is, if you can not help me solve my problem and advice me what to do to fix it, please provide me the details of the chipset build in audiocard on my motherboard, so i can investigate if it is compitable with my external audio cards and contact the audio card dealers to ask them for their opinion. Or if you can tell me with what it is compitable with and with what not, it would be great. I personally think that this laptop should have no problems at all with running a simple external usb audio card but I am asking you, if you know something more about that.
If the problem is from the build in chipset then Toshiba is manufacturing (or at least selling) audiocards which aren't at a normal standart but sadly I cant do nothing about it except complain to Toshiba and never deal whith such productgs anymore. In the other case if this is not true, then my laptop has a problem which is different and I will have to go to court with the repair mans for not fixing my laptop or not giving a new one when I have warranty which will not be Toshiba's fault and It will in a way solve my problem.
I hope you understand how Important this is for me and I hope I resolve the problem as soon as possible.
    P.S
I would like to state that I am well aware of the grammar mistakes I have made in the text below and I would like to ask for your apologies as I am not a native English language speaker.

hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good

  • USB audio device loses output connection

I use a MobilePRE USB interface and had no problems until recently. My iMac is set to never sleep but if I do not use the computer for a few hours the output from the MobilePre is gone.If I change to the driver to the internal headphone output on the Mac all is fine but in order to use the MobilePre as output I must restart, then it is fine until the next day or a few hour later.
The same time that this problem developed, about a month ago, I also noticed a low level snap or popping sound. This happens through my external speakers and is triggered by any sound activity approximately 30 seconds later. It even happens with the volume turned all the way down and sounds like a connection is being made. Like I said these two problems started about a month ago around the time Apple was sending a lot of updates. I have read a long thread on the OSX forum and know this is a pervasive problem with no solution yet. I mention it here as a curiosity as it started around the same time as the USB audio device problem. My hunch is that it has something to do with a recent update.
I don't think this is a GarageBand problem because it is the same no matter what software is outputting. I ask on this forum because there some knowledgeable audio heads here.

Check the archlinux news item which calls for an entry in kernel commandline .................
