Usb blues

I have a 6738 km2m motherboard .I can use a usb mouse and a usb scanner and boot up fine .But if I plug in my usb zip drive my computer will not boot up.I tried just the zip drive by it's self no luck.I think it is a bios problem .It freezes before it gets to windows.But get this if I put a disk in the zip I can boot up.I think it must have something to do with bios .This is the first bios I have seen were you can boot from a usb device and thats were the problem is .

As many of us know, The Mac Pro has the worst BT signal of all Mac products. It is especially problematic when using Wifi (2.4g), causing the Magic Mouse, Wireless Keyvboard and wireless slate to sluggishly move, or not function at all.
I just purchased a replacement MacPro (2010) for my aging 2006, and noticed that Mac still has the same issues. Unfortunately, I must use Wifi and especially the 2.4g frequency. My wireless products are 1 foot from the box, and I have even tried removing the side cover on the Mac pro along with the removal of the battery cover on the Magic Mouse. Yes, when I do this, reception is a bit better.
I know a replacement machine wikll not fix the problem, and Apple has yet to even really address it. I had read somewhere that Apple had quietly supported the D-Link dbl-120 USB BT dongle, so I bought one. When I plug it in, the dongle lights up, but nothing else happens. It does not show up at all in the system profiler for USB connections. All drivers that come with this dongle are Windows based only. Various FAQ's state it is fully compatible with this dongle and should work right out of the box.
I think Apple needs to update its tagline that state's, "It just works".
Any ideas??

I've used a IOGear GBU421* for more than a year now with good results (once you learn to expect some slow MM pairing after sleep maybe 30% of the time). I would expect the DLink dongle to behave similarly and you shouldn't need any additional software.
Try doing a smc and pram reset -- the usual first attempts at trying ot fix BT problems.
Try unparing and re-pairing. Make the devices favorites.
If you have xcode installed you can do a bluetooth factory reset with Bluetooth Explorer. The always works in the few times I had to resort to it.
With respect to the poor BT reception on the mac pro's, below is a link to probably the best discussion on this where there are posts talking about dongles and replacing the crappy internal antenna with an external antenna.

Windows 8 Encore CS4 Blu-ray BSOD

I'm getting a BSOD in Encore CS4 when I try to build a blu-ray project. I have an HP laptop with an LG USB blu-ray burner. When I click build, even to build just an image, and then change from "DVD" to "Blu-Ray", there is a hang then a BSOD. My crashdump indicates that pxhlpa64.sys is the culprit.

I'm up-to-date in CS4, so that doesn't help. However, it sounds related and I'm hoping that my copy of CS4 Production Premium is still supported.
My version of pxhlpa64.sys is 3.0.78.0. WU can't find any updates as far as I can tell. I have not installed any drivers for my LG BE12LU38 Super Multi Blue, but it seems to be recognized and there are no updates via WU.

Right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

As far as support outside of this user to user group... I seriously doubt that Adobe will provide any help for a program that is 3 versions old, and which was written before Win8 was more than a Microsoft dream

IMac G3 will not recognize USB upon startup?

The iMac G3 seems to be fine hardware wise, however, it will not accept any input upon startup and I cannot boot from a CD. I have tried booting whole holding down the C key, tried booting into options, open firmware, etc. All with no luck, it just continues to boot into a very blank OS 9.2 screen which I can do nothing with. Once it has "booted" I can move the mouse around, so the UBS ports do work, they're just not recognized when the machine turns on. I am using a standard Apple USB "Blue" Keyboard from 1999, so I can't imagine that being the problem.
I believe it is running a very old version of Macintosh Manager, as after a half hour it gives up trying to find a connection and asks me for a Admin Username and Password to quit into the finder, I have none. I am trying to boot using an original retail version of Mac OS X v10.0.3. This should theoretically be fine, as the firmware update was for v10.2 and newer, correct?
I have no idea, even if the CD drive is dead, shouldn't I at least be able to boot into terminal, open firmware, or startup manager?
Please help.

I'd concur with your assesment of a bad cd drive. Perhaps you could try another drive from ebay.
Is this a try or slot iMac? Does the slot of firewire? I'd get a firewire cd drive if your machine supports it.

What do i need to burn blu-rays?

Hello everyone. I'm new to Final Cut Pro, and Macs in general, so please bare with me. I'm a film student, and recently purchased a Canon XH-A1s and a Mac Pro with Final Cut Pro 6 to jump start my video production business.
My only problem is that i only have the ability to produce HD video, so when it comes to distribution, DVD is really not an option. I've heard with an upgrade to Final Cut Pro 7 that you can finally burn Blu-Rays without a third party application, just wondering if that was true.
I was planning on upgrading to Final Cut Pro 7, and purchasing an external, USB Blu-Ray read/write drive. Should everything work ok if i go down that route?

The Mac does not come with a Blu-ray burner. So you would be burning a Blu-ray compatible file to a standard DVD-5 or DVD-9. Neither of which are ideal for authoring Blu-ray content.
Do an exhaustive search online about Blu-ray authoring and disk creation. This is not something for the hobbyist video creator (and I say hobbyist in the sense that you're not creating thousands of copies for mass distribution, so no one take offense.)
Blu-ray is expensive and requires a lot of planning and prep to do it right. But you can't burn an official Blu-ray disc on a Mac as they stand. And, Compressor doesn't burn discs, it only creates files. DVD Studio Pro would be the app that would burn the Blu-ray disc, and DVDSP has not been upgraded since long before Blu-ray came on the scene.

I must disconnect the cable usb to await one minute then the reconnecter so that the modem is again given on line.
By time when I disconnect or reconnecte the cable usb “blue screen” thus reboot.

How can I play blu ray movies on my 2011 iMac?

Will an external USB Blu Ray drive play them natively on 10.6.8 or will I need additional software? DVD's just aren't cutting it on such a large high quality screen.

USB WebCam not as 'good' as FireWire?

Well I got a webcam for $100 for my sister's 4 year-old MAC MINI and I just tested it on my MacBook by recording videos with QuickTime - first with the built-in Mic and Camera; next with the USB BLUE Microphone/webcam called "Eyeball Mic".
I must admit that the built-in iSight / built-in Mic seem to have virtually no 'lag'- when I say "one-two-three" I see my lips in sync with the sound;
BUT with the BLUE mic (USB) there is a slight, but noticeable lag---
If I had purchased a FireWire 400 Webcam instead of the USB would I have had less 'lag'- or??
The image seems similar- but is better on the built-in iSight; and sound is also similar- hard to judge which is better.
Any comments appreciated-- the only FW Webcam I know of is the Logitech one and I didn't find that in the Chicago Apple store- asked the genius there and he said both FW400 and USB2 would be similar-- but now I'm not so sure.

Definitely USB 2 and yes- it's own USB port. I'll test this weekend when I give her the camera.
But I will likely do a test with an iSight later this year - FireWire vs USB -

Blue Ray Brenner wird nicht erkannt

Hallo,
ich würde mir gern Adobe Premiere Elements kaufen. Habe zurzeit die Testversion laufen. Damit gibt es aber ein gravierendes Problem, weshalb ich mich auch noch nicht zum Kauf des Programms durchgerungen habe. Adobe Elements erkennt meinen Blue Ray Brenner LG BP40NS20 nicht. Gibt es dafür eine Lösung?

There have been several reports recently of some version of Premiere Elements not recognizing a Blu-ray burner. I am going to start compiling a list to determine if there is a pattern to these reports.
It is very frustrating troubleshooting in this situation. Some times an uninstall/ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts), reinistall with antivirus and firewalls turned off is the answer. Some times not. Have you gone over your computer noting any other software that might be a candidate for causing this conflict?
Do you have an USB Blu-ray external burner that you can cross check with?
Right now the uninstall, ccleaner, reinstall seems the most likely first step if you have not done that already.

ATI 3870 fan noise; Blu-ray movie playback works with 3870.

Is there a better fan/heatsink for 3870? I just replaced my stock 7300GT with 3870 but fan noise is annoying and is louder than my Mac Pro system fans. Thanks.
I just like to share to everybody that 3870 works with Buffalo external USB Blu-ray(tested with Vista). My stock 7300GT will not playback Blu-ray movies because it's not HDCP compliant.

I just removed the fan off my x1900 and it's a joy to listen to now. Dead silent.
Here are some photos of how easy it was. Take off memory heat syncs, take off electric heat syncs, and then the fan off the chip. Wipe it with a tissue. Then take an eraser and rub until all residue is gone. Then just stick and peel the heat syncs where they fit.
The only trick was getting the clips to fit on the board. I had to take off the long metal piece that ran the length of the board so the clips could fit around it.
Anyway hope this helps someone out there.

SACD-DTS format & blu-rays...

hi guys
recently i stumbled on an audio file in SACD-DTS format ( if that's the correct name..) & no matter what, i couldn't get it to play in iTunes : i converted it to AIFF , imported it into iTunes & when i press play it just ''blows & whistles away'' , no music, nothing !! can anyone please tell me if there is a decoder for such files out there ? i tried googling it up &....nothing ! also is there an external USB drive i can hook up to my Intel iMac that reads/records blu-ray ? any help would be very appreciated

I have the z1, before five days was in the shop for problem with loudspeaker, then repairer say that phone still waterproof, but yesterday come into contact with water and then I turned it off, but he himself turned on then i use restart button and now he won't turn on and when i connect with USB blue light and nothing happen. I tried power and volume up but he only vibrate and nothing happens.

Motorola KRZR, isync, and, OS 10.4.9 "device not found"

I have had a Motorola KRZR for a few week now and have read it was possible (through a hack) to sync it with ical and addresses through isync. I figured that now the KRZR is supported by the 10.4.9 OS update it would be easy. I plug in my phone through usb to my ibook and open isync and click add device and I get an error that says "no devices found"? I tried both usb ports.
The more I read about this phone and isync the more I get confused. Is there something I'm overlooking? I have the phone on during this...

apparently there is a way to edit the original plsit file to sync calendars. I've seen that many times on other websites. But I still haven't seen anyone sync the phone via usb like cmoney and I want to do...I hope someone can help. I'm thinking about buying one of those usb blue tooth adapters...maybe that is the way?
