USB cable 15 cm long ?!
I bought new nokia phone, opened box and when i saw usb cable 15 cm long i laughed at first but then it was all frustration
I wonder who on earth get to an idea to put usb cable that is completely useless. I would be better without one.
All in all, after this gruesome and frustrating experience of trying to conect my new phone to PC with 15 cm SHORT USB cable, i made a vow to myself NOKIA NEWER AGAIN!!!

15 cm cable doesnt sound like Nokia, I have never ever heard of such a thing.
Is it a picture of the cable in the "small paper manual" that the device come along in the package?
If not, call Nokia care or email them directly.
I dont use the Operating System that you have on E5.
The applications I use for example may not work on your phone. I almost never use applications that isnt on Nokia Store anyhow. Only very well trusted software...
About disconnecting problems, try to connect into another usb hub and/or;
-reinstall the software
-restart pc
-disconnect cable to phone and connect after restart the pc or/and phone
- soft reset
...sometimes it is hell when problems occur...
Have you checked the online manual for E5, could be useful.

UNABLE TO SYNC MY PHONE WITH PC. WHEN I PLUG MY PHONE TO THE PC VIA THE USB CABLE IT NO LONGER APPEARS IN I TUNES.

Does anyone else have problems with the lightening to USB cables, particularly the longer version, when using the iPad and charging at the same time?
If so, am I doing anything wrong?Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

I used to be able to just plug in my phone with the USB cable to my Windows 7 computer and browse phone storage with no issues. Now my computer sees it as an android phone but when it tries to automatically install the drivers for my phone on the computer, i get an access denied error message. No option on the phone that i can see that allows me to mount phone as a usb drive. This used to work just fine with nothing more than just hooking up the cable. What gives??
Let's get that access granted again, e_rock_b. The HTC DNA doesn't have a special USB Mass Storage Mode that needs to be turned on. Usually, it's as simple as connecting and browsing http://vz.to/1jktbZD as you mentioned. If your computer is no longer allowing that easy access, try the steps at http://vz.to/1jktvr6.

Can no longer charge Nano with the USB cable
My iPod Nano (1st gen) won't charge via the USB cable any more. It will sync if there is enough battery life when I hook it up to the USB cable. However, if I leave it hooked up, it gets drained of all it's battery life. Fortunately I have a wall charger and a car charger and both of them will charge the Nano. It's a lot more convenient for me to charge it via my computer, but that's not possible any more. Is my Nano dying or is it possible the USB cable is damaged? If it's damaged, how can it sync but not charge? Why can I charge with other power sources but not the cable? Unfortunately, I don't have another iPod cable to test if the cable is damaged. If my Nano is dying, can you give me a rough estimate as to how long it will be before it stops charging all together. (I need to prepare my spouse for the upcoming iPod Touch purchase that will appear on credit card.)
Thanks.........JulieHere's my own trial and error analysis of my problem. I hooked my iPod up to my old G4 PowerBook and tried to charge it from there. It didn't charge but it also didn't lose any more power that I could tell. I then hooked it up to my MacBook's first USB slot. I heard that the first slot has more power than the 2nd slot due to the way the 2 USB ports are configured. Unfortunately, the iPod appeared to have lost some power, i.e. the USB port drained some of the power from the iPod.
I'm guessing I need to take it in to have my USB ports checked out. I prefer to take it to an Apple store with a Genius bar that is 3 hours away instead of to our "local" Apple repair shop that is an hour away. I have Apple Care and I believe my local shop will still charge me for time.
Thanks for the suggestions. Until I find a day when I can take the long drive, I'll just charge my iPod from with a wall charger. I'm grateful the iPod syncs and I have an alternate way to charge. -
My iphone is no longer working I have black screen with a picture of the itunes logo and a USB cable. When I try to connect my iphone to itunes the device is not detected, can anyone help me? I desperatley need my phone back
I have had a 3GS for 2+ years. After upgrading to IOS 4 (now 4.3.5) I began having problems. In the past week, my screen went to the itunes logo and USB cable twice -- unprovoked -- just found it sitting there like that! I connected to itunes and it did restore from a backup but it is a major inconvenience. I am also searching for answers, but better back-up regularly!

How do I connect my 2nd generation Ipod to a Firewire 800 port on a new laptop? It no longer holds a charge and it doesn't power up with the newer generation USB cable. The only way I can sync my Itunes library onto this Ipod is when it is powered and connected simultaneously. Pls help.

I have a lightning to usb cable which is 2m in length. Is there any known issues with trying to recharge an iPad 4 with this longer length? It seems to me it is taking much longer than a 1m cord to recharge.

I'm afraid a new SSD won't be different from your bad USB stick. I had similar issues over USB with both a (no-brand) stick and TWO 64gb Kingston SSDNow's (running Kubuntu 12.04 with Kernel 3.11, ia_64): it all runs exceptionally well (wanna know how it feels like booting in 5 sec?) for a few days - then suddenly you find yourself facing that dreaded (initramfs) prompt. You ask yourself: why? Did I upgrade grub lately? Did I upgrade the Kernel? I don't recall so. Ok, let's fix this... insert favorite live cd, boot, fsck...what???? THOUSANDS of errors??? Hundreds of files and directories corrupted, and the system is unusable - Reinstall everything from scratch onto another drive.
Rinse and repeat: did this 3 times. Then I found this analysis:

I also suspect USB power interrupts more abruptly than SATA power, at shutdown - basically aggravating any power interruption damages. So now I'm going to:
- buy an Intel S3500!
- add commit=1 to my mount options in /etc/fstab
- edit shutdown procedure to add a 5-10 sec pause after unmounting drives.

I plugged my usb cable connected with my iphone 4 to the computer, and then it shows up as Iphone, but there is no button to sync, and when i manually drag the files into the storage it would say "Device is no longer responding" and it just would not work... Please help me and quick

Longer USB cable & Headphones with boom microphone

Question 1) the USB cord supplied to run from electrical adapter to the phone is too short. Does the electrical adapter work with any standard USB 2.0 cable, so I could buy a longer cable anywhere? I don't see a longer cable offered by Apple.
Question 2) I would like a serious headphone for business use. That means a combination headphone with a boom microphone (hopefully with a noise cancelling mic). I don't see any from apple. Does anybody know of one that works well? Standard ones do not work since that are not set up for the stereo jack on the iPhone 3G. I have seen some adapters (go from iPhone jack to standard used by telephone head sets) but they have not gotten good reviews.

BobI absolutely agree that a longer cable is necessary because my front USB port is low down at the bottom of my computer, which itself is located a few inches above the floor. So, yes, to see the Micro while I'm downloading or checking to see if it's docked, does require me to bend down near the floor to see what's going on. I have resorted to using my USB camera cable, which is long and conveniently located on my desk!

IPhone 3 inches long USB cable
Is anyone aware of a 3 to 6 inches USB cable for the iPhone? I need it for charging the phone while in the glove compartment of my car and most cables ate 3 ft long. I saw some retractable units online but reviews are bad in general.

USB cable no longer fits into iPad.
My USB cable, which came with the iPad, no longer fits into the slot. What do I do now to recharge my iPad?
Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or debris.
Use a magnifying glass to examine the iPad's connector and the cable connector. May be a bent pin or the connector wraparound may be dented. If your iPad is in a case, take it out of the case.
