USB Cable Stuck?
I just received my new iPod Nano, 3rd generation today. I've had two iPods before, and have never had problems with the USB cable. I plugged it in and transferred all my songs onto it, and ejected it properly. I unplugged the one end from my laptop, and now that I go to unplug the end from the iPod, I realize it doesn't have any buttons on the side to release the little arms that keep the USB locked in place! I can't get the USB out! Am I missing something here? Is there some other button somewhere to release it? I'm going to be pretty angry if this is a manufacturing error, and if I have to send it back! Please help!
The newer USB cables as supplied with your nano don't have buttons on the side to push to release the cable any more - just grab the plug firmly and pull until it comes out of the dock connector port. If your iPod is new then it may be a bit stiffer to pull out the first few times but the more you use it the easier it gets!

Hi, I need urgent help. I just bought my e66 today. I tried to setup the pc suite software by connecting my pc to the phone via the USB cable. But when I tried to unplug the USB cable connected to the phone it got stuck. I don't want to pull it out by force. I don't think that I connect the cable to the phone wrong, because I didn't jam it in and the pc suite can detect the phone and all. Is it possible to plug the USB cable wrongly? Because I noticed that the USB cable had a specific shape, that match with the phone port or else it won't get plug. Am i missing something? Is there a specific method to unplug the cable? The cable should just pull out. There is no button to press or anything else like that.

This may seem strange - I put the cable in at the bottom of the ipod and connected to the pc. The ipod charged and transfered music. However, when I finally wanted to disconnect the cable it remained stuck in the ipod as if locked. It does not want to budge.
Does anyone have a clue to this mystery?Are you pressing the release catches at the side of connector before trying to pull the cable out? There are little teeth in the dock connector to lock it in place so it doesn't get pulled out accidentally.

Can't connect my ipod toch to itunes!!! It doesn't see it! I use windows 8, don't know if that's the problem. Anyways, my ipod is stuck! Every time I open it, it stays stuck with the image of a USB cable with an arrow pointing towards an itunes icon. but whatever I do, my computer doesn't see it, and neither does itunes. The the remaining items of the following, you may have to let the battery fully drain.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

I was updating my iPhone 4S to the iOS 7 system. During update my phone froze. It's stuck on insert USB cable connect to itunes screen. I've already tried turning my phone off holding Home key while inserting my cord into phone and nothing worked. I've tried DFU mode and that wont work either. What the heck do I do now? Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
I just bought my iphon last night & tried doing it`s first update this morning. I got an error message that the update failed & now my iphone only shows a pic of a usb cable with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo.
I already tried holding down the on off buton & the home button like the instructions say. Problem is that when the instructions say I should be at the part where itunes is again recognizing my iphone, my itune is not recognizing my iphone. So I am stuck. I follow the instrustions, but the resluts are different, so I can`t continue to the next step. Very frustrated, as the nearest Apple store is over an hour`s drive away.Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Restore the Firmware. If the process Errors again, write down the error message and error #, on paper so you can solve the problem. If there are serious problems, all iPhone 4S have full warranty coverage with Apple.

There is no other way than to plug into a computer to restore the phone. You can use another computer to do so, but in case you did not back up to iCloud your data and settings will be gone.

Lightning cable USB connector stuck!
I plugged my lightning usb cable into my apple wired keyboard, and after a while tried to remove it.
It was stuck, no matter how I tried to (carefully) pull the cable and hold the keyboard.
After about 30mins trying, I shoved some thin cardboard in between the bottom of the usb connector and the slot in the keyboard, it helped to remove it.
On closer inspection after I had the cable out, I noticed that the indents in the bottom usb connector are deeper than many of the other usb (apple and non-apple) connectors that I have.
A warning to others out there!Just experianced this with my cable too, in my laptop, the tip is too lift gently up and down to release, seems the socket gets locked into position. Really bad design. Looks like apple will be supplying these one after another. Not good.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
