USB connection doesn't work on Vista?

Hi all,
I have a problem that PC Suite just doesn't see the phone via USB under Windows Vista, but it worked just fine under XP. The only difference I see is that PC Suite installed along some "cable drivers" for XP, but for Vista.
I've seen some people complaining about problems under Vista about a year ago, but that was supposedly fixed in new PC Suite versions. Has anyone heard anything about connectivity problems under Vista?
I tried the latest PC Suite version, 6.85.12.0,
my phone is E70, Windows Vista Home Basic

When I connect the camcorder usb to my desktop pc (using different USB drive connections), my computer does not seem to recognize any of the connections. When I use another usb memory card to the same usb connections, the computer does recognize the drive. There have been a few times when the camcorder has recognized the camcorder connection (most recently about June 12) - but it does not at thie time. If I take the extra 16gb memory card from the camcorder and connect it to the memory card connection, the computer has always recognized it. My problem is trying to get the video from the camcorders internal memory through the USB connection.I expect if/when I can get these files loaded, I intend to no longer use the camcorder's internal memory, and insted always use the extra memory card. Pierre I realize that If I could have the laptop recognize the usb connection, I could manually copy the video files myself, although I believe PMH would also have worked in this case.

This is a (mostly) on and (sometimes) off issue. I have previously worked with Sony and have occasionally succeeded. Using the 'extra' 16gb card works to connect and load. My problem is when I'm using the video stored in internal memory and using the usb connection. If/when I ever actually load the internal memory data (I actually have already loaded most of it, but not the most current), I intend in the future to use only the 'exernal' memory card. My most recent call to Sony indicated that I don't have any support since the camery is 2+ years old - they send me an e-mail to a site that gave instructions, but the instructions don't seem to solve my problem. I don't seem to have any problem connection other 'devices' to my USB ports.

You might want to do a search here on the forums re. usb modems - I've seen several threads and the opinion appears to be that faxing is no longer supported (especially since the "Fax" is now missing from the Print Preference Pane in System Preferences). I am faxing with an all-in-one printer which is connected to a landline, but I have to use the printer's control panel - can't use it from the iMac.

  • Wired connection doesn't work if cable is not plugged in at boot time

    Hey all,
I started using arch a few days ago and I simply love it, but I have a problem. The wired connection doesn't work if the cable is not plugged in at boot time, or if it was plugged in at boot time, then plugged out and in again. Switching it off and on again via the gui has the same effect. I am using NetworkManager with dhcpcd, NetworkManager is started via systemd, dhcpcd is not, I let NetworkManager do that. When I started investigating this problem there were some remnants of netctl, but now NetworkManager is the only networking-related service started at boot time. When the cable is plugged back in, NM-applet shows that it's connected, and an IP address is assigned, but the connection doesn't work.
Here's some information regarding the system:
It's a lenovo G50-70 laptop, it uses the r8169 driver for ethernet. (I dualboot it with windows 8.1, but arch is default and all this stuff happens also if i only use arch)
The router is a Linksys EA2700/N600
    journalctl -u NetworkManager

I couldn't find anything else to append, but if there are other log or conf files or anything else, which would help solving the problem, I should put here, please tell me.

Try to use dhclient perhaps?  Might I also suggest letting systemd deal with the dhcp issue and not NM.  That may seem incongruous but it is possible NM is mis-handling the dhcp hand-off to the network card.  I'm no guru but I got thinking about this when I saw this in your output:
    aug 26 19:15:39 arch_daboka NetworkManager[527]: <info> (enp1s0): device state change: ip-check -> secondaries (reason 'none') [80 90 0]

    aug 26 19:15:40 arch_daboka NetworkManager[527]: <info> NetworkManager state is now CONNECTED_LOCAL
It is very possible that I'm mis-interpreting this information so please take it with a boulder of salt.

  • [SOLVED] External USB mouse doesn't work

I've installed Arch on my laptop and today faced with a problem. When I boot with AC off my external USB mouse doesn't work. Also it looks like USB ports don't work. If I detached AC when working mouse works fine.
I can suppose there is some problem with laptop mode. May be it turns off usb ports to save energy. Anyway quick search doesn't brings any results. If someone give me a hint how to solve this problem I'll be very grateful.

Well, after diving into configs solution has been founded. The point was to disable auto suspend feature in laptop-mode-tools config by setting BATT_SUSPEND_USB variable to 0 in /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/usb-autosuspend.conf
Hope this information will be helpful for users who probably faced with the same problem. Thank you!

  • I updated to 10.4.7 and now my left USB port doesn't work

    Hi all,
I ran Software Update just a second ago, installing an update to MacOS (PowerPC), ITunes, and QuickTime. After the install and the restart, my left USB port is no longer working. It was working immediately before the install.
I have verified that the peripheral that was not working in the left port works just fine in the right one. I have also confirmed that a peripheral that was working previously in the right USB port doesn't work when attached to the left one.
Therefor, I am led to believe that the problem lies in the left USB port. The only thing that has changed is the updater which ran moments ago, and again, the left USB port was working just fine prior to the install.
Has anybody else experienced this problem and knows of a fix/patch/anything I can do?
    PowerBook G4 Titanium   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
I would reset your power management unit, then install the combo 10.4.7 update. Recently, there have been issues with updates through the software update function.
    Reset the PMU: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449
    Download combo 10.4.7: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047comboppc.html

  • MacBook Pro closest to the screen USB port doesn't work

    Hey there!
I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro 6,2 (15" 2,66 GHz i7 4GB RAM) which is in perfect conditions. I use it everyday to study and play the X-Plane simulator, basically, so it has never fallen nor taken any damage. Last week, all of the sudden, the USB port located closest to the screen stopped working. I've spent several hours trying to figure out what the problem is (tried the SMC and NVRAM reset more than once) but all I got was this log from USB Prober:
    Feb 12 21:46:26.196  [2]
    BRCM2070 Hub[0xffffff800bcc0c00]::DeviceRequest _DeviceRequestWithTimeout runAction() failed (0xe00002ed)
    Feb 12 21:46:26.197  [3]
    IOUSBDeviceUserClientV2[0xffffff80151f7200]::DeviceRequestIn (sync < 4k) err:0xe00002ed (device is not responding)
    Feb 12 21:46:26.197  [3]
    IOUSBDeviceUserClientV2[0xffffff80151f7200]::DeviceRequestIn < 4K to 0xffffff800bcc0c00 - returning err e00002ed, size: 0
I imagine that the problem is in the BRCM2070 Hub, as it's status in the "Port Status" section is "STATUS(change): CONNECT ENABLE SUSPEND POWER Full Speed" and "Port Power State: Suspended (Driver)", while my other USB port which is working okay is "STATUS(change): POWER Full Speed" and "Port Power State: No connection". If I connect anything to the problematic USB Port the status won't change, while, if connected to the okay one, it will show what's connected instead of saying "No Connection" (e.g. iPhone). The only thing that gives a sign of life when connected to the problematic one is my Samsung External 500GB HD, but it simply lights up, doesn't mount nor is recognised. After a minute it turns off while still connected. I don't know how to proceed as I don't have any Apple Stores near me.
Is there anyway to work this problem out or I should just wait until the end of this year to go to the US and take my machine to a Genius? This problem is really annoying me, as I frequently use one of the ports to charge my iPhone and the other one to connect my mouse. I'm thinking about buying an USB hub to bypass the problem, but it would kill my MBP's portability.

I solved my issue and I believe it was router related. I have a router through Verizon and their Fios service. My router was old so I caled for a replacement. when I received thereplacement I switched it the router to only accept 802.11n and this did the trick. Problem solved, stupid router.

  • Remote/USB debug doesn't work for me in iOS

I'm trying to debug my app in the iPad, but whenever I use the ipa-debug or ipa-debug-interpreter targets, the app just plain doesn't work. It gets stuck in the first screen and nothing happens, no matter if I use -connect "my-ip" (remote debugging) or if I use -listen myPort (USB debugging). The app just doesn't work.
If I use ipa-test-interpreter or ipa-ad-hoc, then it does work, but of course I can't debug. This happens in AIR 3.6 and also previous versions as well.
    My command line:
    "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS6\AIR3.6\bin\adt.bat" -package -target ipa-debug-interpreter -connect "192.168.1.11" -provisioning-profile ..\cert\ios\iPad2_01.mobileprovision -storetype pkcs12 -keystore ..\cert\ios\ios_dev.p12 -storepass MyPassword MyApp.ipa MyApp-app.xml -C . MyApp_ios.swf icons\MyApp_icon.png Default-Landscape.png -extdir ..\ane
    Did someone experience the same?

Can you please report a bug for the same @bugbase.adobe.com with a sample app(source code ,swf, app-xml and assets/ane) with which bug can be reproduced?
Also you can provide me the sample app(source code ,swf, app-xml and assets/ane) @[email protected] so that I can give it a try.
Please share the bug number here.
    Thanks,

  • USB mic doesn't work on MBP?

After reading a ton of threads here on the audio-in issue (the MacBook Pro doesn't accept a mic-level input, only a line-level input) I came to the conclusion I would need either a pre-amp or a USB mic. I chose the latter, thinking it's better to have just 2 pieces of equipment (the laptop and the mic) rather than 3 (laptop, mic, pre-amp). I bought a Nady USB 24M only to find out it's not recording audio either.
    So I'm not sure if:
    A) the mic doesn't work
    B) the line-in input on the laptop doesn't work
    C) I have a setting off somewhere
    or
    D) I misunderstood that a USB mic would work with a laptop
The mic's promotional materials say it "connects directly to any computer with a USB 2.0 input port for easy plug-and-play operation." That's really what I need "easy plug-and-play operation."
I'm trying to record audio in Quicktime using "New Audio Recording." In QT preferences, I've tried both "Built-In Input: Line In" and "C-Media USB Headphone Set." I've tried plugging a mic with phantom power into the line-in (to no avail) and I've tried the USB mic (again nothing). Am I doing something wrong?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 2.4 gHz MacBook Pro and use an Altec Lansing AHS302usb mic for external mic input during online gaming. It is actually a USB 2.0 mic and headphone combination that works in Windows XP via BootCamp and also in Mac OS X. I have successfully used this mic in BootCamp (Windows XP) for gaming in Battlefield 2142. Works fine - no problems at all. Windows and Mac OS both auto configure to use this external mic and headphones automatically when the USB connector is plugged in.

  • [SOLVED]mounting cdrom and usb devices doesn't work

    Hello,
i have trouble mounting my usb devices. automount doesn't work and i can't mount them manually even as a superuser. here's the output of mount command:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdc,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
    dmesg | tail or so
i can mount cdrom manually but i can't do the same for my usb stick and external hard drives. it always complains about the above regardless of the filesystem. my devices are working under windows and other linuxes so i know hardware is not the problem.
    i'm using lxde with pcmanfm.
if you need any other files just ask.
    thanks

above was the error when i tried to mount any usb device with "mount -t <type> /dev/sdc /media/mountpoint". and i couldn't mount any usb device as root from console. when i tried to mount devices using pcmanfm it just popped some empty dialogs and i couldn't find any mention of "IsCallerPriviliged failed" error so i (wrongly) presumed it wasn't that. i did try some of the other fixes mentioned in the forum with no success. but adding exec ck-launch-session startkde to my .xinitrc fixed the issue
    thanks again
