USB connection for iphone 5 hotspot is not working

I am using OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro and all of a sudden it is not recognizing my iphone 5 as a hotspot using the usb connection. It does connect using bluetooth. Any suggestions?

The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for troubleshooting issues with no sound from the speaker on your iOS device:

Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.

Mic for headphones (iphone4) will not work. When I use voice control, the lines are up and down (almost like there is some type of noise) even though I am not speaking into it. There are three types of 3.5 mm headphone jacks - TS, TRS, and TRRS. Tip, Ring, Sleeve.

Currently the two parts closest to the cord (2nd Ring and Sleeve) are used for the microphone. Some vendors use the sleeve for the mic, and some use the ring.

IPad 2 connects via iphone hotspot, but not router

I have a iPad 2 that refuses to see or connect to my "G" wi-fi network. Both my iphones and iPad mini connect to the same wi-fi network without any issues. But, the iPad 2 will connect to to my iPhone 5 via AT&T personal hotspot (wi-fi... is this really wi-fi?) and my mac via Bluetooth. I have reset the ipad 2 to factory settings, reset network settings and nothing is working to connect to a standard wi-fi network. Does this sound like the wi-fi antenna is not working?

If you are not seeing your WiFi network from your iPad 2 in order to join, you may want to try the additional steps outlined in the following article:

HT201263 iTunes Recovery for iPhone 4s did not work

What do I do if I used iTunes to restore the device, waited an hour, and it still didn't work?

Not jailbroken
Paraphrased error message... "there was an error when restoring device, unable to restore"
Apple icon still blinking intermittently
Here's what I've done prior to subjecting to a recovery...
1) Plugged in iPhone with iTunes open, got the recovery pop-up
2) Attempted multiple times to avert the recovery by holding menu button and power button >10secs
3) When the apple icon reappeared continued holding the menu button, releasing the power button, until the itune logo and usb cable showed
4) released menu button. reapplied hard reboot, apple icon reappeared and began blinking
5) Repeated too many times
6) iTunes restore
7) Typed this email
Any help is appreciative!

No. You can get an out of warranty replacement or buy a new phone. A an out if warranty replacement will be cheaper than buying a new one.

USB connection from iPod to PC not working

Whenever I connect my ipod to my PC via the USB, three beeps are heard signaling that the connection is not being made. However, when I plug the iPod into other computers using the same USB chord, it works. Also, when I plug other things into my computer using USB, they are recognized.
What should I do so I can connect my iPod to my PC to update my iPod?

This worked for me...
Reinstall the COM interface for the iPod Service
1. Quit iTunes and any running iPod Updater.
2. Click iPodService.exe in the Windows Task Manager window.
3. Click End Process.
4. Click Yes.
5. On the Start menu, click Run. Note that the Run windows may appear behind the Windows Task Manager window.
6. Enter this text (including the quotation marks):
"C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe" /service
7. Click OK in that window.
8. On the Start menu, click Turn Off Computer.
9. Click Restart.

Adobe Videobite for iPhone 5 does not work

I have been using Adobe Videobite for the last few months and I like the app very much. I use it often for cherishing sweet memories of many families who are my friends and relatives.
For the last couple of days, I am able to create the video but unable to save to camera roll. When I try to save, the page shows as disabled and gets hanged. I will have to remove the task to enter into the app again. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling the same. Still I am unable to create a video now.

Suggestion... cancel your contract and go to AT&T. Sounds like you might be happier there, especially if you are going to blame Verizon for something that Apple decided on (the inability to do voice and text at the same time).If you had a replacement pending at the time you requested the worry-free return, then I can see them denying it until you got the replacement phone and they got the return or you paid the full cost amount of the phone. Other than the known warts of a new phone version (both design and OS) that are well published I've had nary a problem with either the 32GB one I originally got on release date or the 64GB one that I replaced it with. Personally for me it's going to be a keeper (and I'm a Android guy from the get go).
Not trying to be a smart (deleted content to comply with VZW ToS), but unluckily some folks just have bad luck. It was hard to tell in your rambling statement what the iPhone 4 signals were compared to the iPhone 5 (are you in a 3G only area or are you in an LTE area). It almost sounds like you are on a fringe signal area with that short of talk time, which would pull the battery down as it searches for signal incessantly if you don't have one or just a marginal one.

New USB cord for 3rd gen Nano not working

Okay, I've got a 3rd generation Nano, and the original USB cord it came with was damaged, so I replaced it with an identical one. But now, when I hook it up to my computer, nothing happens---it won't even recognize that there is anything in its USB port. If somebody could give me any advice on how to handle this, I would really appreciate it.

No it doesn't. Sometimes it make a sound that it should when connecting but that is it. Never actually charges or syncs. And it is a brand new cord.

2.- I think I did not explain myself properly: The iPod is detected by both Windows and iTunes 10.5.3 64bit version.
The problem lies in that now after all the failures and the loss of my music (imagine I have to rip my entire CD collection again) whenever I try to sync my iTunes collection to my iPad (either on a single batch or album by album) a -50 o -69 error appears.
UPDATE: Now whenever I connect my iPod to the computer, it is recognized by Windows, but iTunes tells me that I have to restore it.
I cannot but commend Apple Inc. on his efforts to make a 9 months iPod unsuable. Sincerely this has brought me back to the worst of the 90s with MS.
UPDATE 2: Please let me add that with the previous iTunes version everything was ok. But, as soon as I installed the new Itunes (10.5.3 64bit) version the misery began. Unfortunately when I try to install the previous version I'm not allowed by the program and am referred to the newest buggy one.

Occasionally after switching on and off a few times it functions normally for a few hours and some times even a couple of days but eventually always turns itself off and goes back to the 'Update Completed' screen. If the phone wont turn on it sounds like it needs to be charged. Plug it into a charger and wait about 15 minutes and try turning it on while still charging. Have you tried holding in your home button with the on/off button held in? Hold them both together until the apple logo comes up and then release them. The screen will blink off an on while it is resetting. I still think this is a battery issue. Good luck~

The Mophie Air is a good battery case, but doesn't offer the protection she's looking for. I suggest sticking to the Lifeproof, the iPhone has a very good battery (2-3 days moderate usage for me).
To your 2nd to last paragraph, that is false. Verizon is allowing exisiting customers to keep Unlimited Data - but will lose it once they use a subsidized upgrade. So if you buy a 4S (or LTE device for example) outright, you will keep unlimited data. Mobile hotspot may use up a bit of data, but it is a separate add-on/feature. The new Family Share plans may change that, so it's one giant center of data all devices use.
