USB connection of iPhone 4 to mac
Hi
I recently connected my iP4 to my mac with the usb. It now 'pings' and wont let me connect to the laptop. The 'trust this computer' notification flashes briefly but not enough to make an option. I have reset the phone to factory settings and it still does it. I have tried another laptop and the same thing.
Any suggestions welcome

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. Ive got the same problem, just got my iphone unlocked, and they told me to sync it to itunes to get it permently unlocked, well everytime i plug my iphone in it says; it wont work as it needs up dating to 10.6.3, which i have already updated, but still doesnt work, so how can i get my phone unlocked?

OK so just how connected are iPhones and desktop Macs now? I ask because I just deleted mail from my iPhone and it [seemed] as if the same mail was deleted from my iMac. And this was not mail using my iCloud addy.
Yes that is what I observed.
There have been other strange things going on with Mail on both the iPhone and the iMac so I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was one of them, but still I thought I might get a hint on this problem. -

i plugged in my iphone to restore it but while restoring itunes shutdown itself . if my iphone is not connected to the mac itune works but when i connect my iphone to my mac itunes does not open at all.

OK ... I'm going to answer my own question. I checked the box in iTunes PREFS "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" then went back to the DEVICES screen, iPhone summary, then unplugged the iPhone, and then back to iTunes PREFS and re-checked that box, then quit iTunes. Then I plugged the iPhone back into the computer and Voila! iTunes opens and syncs! Why? Who knows?
This did NOT SOLVE the problem of wireless backup ... still not working ... whether iTunes is open or not. -

Unfortunately, if Apple simply allowed people to log into different accounts and download content, everyone would be using everyone could share everyone else's content and bypass the need to purchase anything. To protect against this, they limit you to logging into a new account to once every 90 days.
If two or more of you, have different accounts and use only one computer, you should each have your own user account on the computer, to avoid the need to log in and out of iTunes. -

Does your Mac not recognize the device? Or is the iPhone recognized, but the import panel does not show any images to import? Is your Photo Stream turned on?
There is a known bug with PhotoStream and AP 3.2.1.
Do you have the current Aperture version 3.2.2? If not, upgrade to 3.2.2.

I've connected my iPhone to my Mac to sync my calendar through Itunes, but it doesn't. What do I do?
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.
