USB Connection with camcorder

My camcorder has no Firewire port and I could not find an S-Video to Firewire adapter at any electronic store nearby (although I found one on the net and will probably try that if worst comes to worst) so I bought an S-video to USB adapter and plugged it in to my computer but my macbook doesn't seem to be responding to it at all. Is there something I need to do or is there no way this will work?

If you're stuck with that camcorder, though, you can send the analog S-video signal through a converter (not a cable) to turn it into a digital signal coming into your Mac (and iMovie) via Firewire. Two basic choices for these converters -- find a friend with a camcorder that has "pass through" capability (analog to digital) and a Firewire connector (or iLink - same thing). Other option is to buy a converter built for this purpose - about $200 - but make sure it has Firewire output and is Mac-friendly.

after reading about the issues on this forum with a static IP address on the Freescale FRDM-K64F board I went for an DHCP address but I can't get the proxy client to work over a USB connection with DHCP either.
My console tells me the following:

Hi, Andy. Please excuse my ignorance, I am very new at this ME embedded stuff. I had my challenges, but was finally able to get my board up with a static address. I went through a lot of headaches, but finally got the board flashed with the latest bin. I then updated the jwc_properties.ini file on the SD card to include:

I was then put the card into the board, disconnected both USB cables, and then powered it up. From that point I was able to ping the board. I can now use Device Manager in NetBeans to connect to the device.
I am struggling quite a bit with many issues. It seems that when I try to stop the app from NetBeans, the "please wait" dialog hangs forever. I have to use Windows Task Manager to kill the "JavaW" process tree and reconnect the board.
I have also had trouble understanding the GPIO pin assignments. Another gotcha was trying to use the AutoStart feature. Since the sample app never cleanly exited, I thought that I bricked the board. The secret is to power it down, remove the SD card, and then delete all files EXCEPT the jwc_properties.ini file, put the SD card back in, then power up. It seems that the board forgets that the MIDlet was installed.
Hope this helps others out there.

I bought a 2000 VA interactive UPX ( Turbo-X brand, "PLAISIO" stores' proprietary, Greece), USB-connectable with software for Windows provided: upsmart2000i.
Is there other software available for it, compatible with Mac OS X 10.8..?!
I attempted to install the APCAGENT.app along with the "Growl": after installation, the APCAGENT.app was not able to find the IP address of the ULS or to establish any communication with it; it didn't even detec the presence of the already running GROWL app.

USB connection with Nokia N70

While my imac can see the N70 via the USB connection, isync doesn't see the phone. I want to transfer photos/video from the phone to the imac and imagine the usb to be way faster than bluetooth. Can anyone hopefully point out an obvious solution to the dilemma??

I'm not familiar with the N70 but I have a N3230.
I simply remove the MMC card from the phone and plug it into my USB card reader. It then mounts itself as a drive on the desktop and I can manipulate its content.

Problem while using Internet USB Connection with Macbook Pro

My name is udayan and i am from India, I am using MACBOOK PRO from last 1 year. For most of this period i have used wi-fi connection for my laptop. But recently i have purchased a Relience Net connect Device for Internet facility. As soon as i started using this device, i have started facing an unusual problem. Whenever i start using it, after 5-10 mins. a fade screen appears and asks me to RESTART the laptop. This keeps on happening after every 10-15 mins which is pretty annoying. I have tried to use the same Internet device on normal laptops and it works just fine with that machine.
Can you please help me to understand this phenomena? Is it a MAC limitation or something else?

Are you saying you cannot connect to the internet wirelessly and through the ethernet? If so, there is something else going on.

USB connection with PC.

Normally I connect my 9720 with my PC with a USB cable to back up phone and to copy pictures and videos. When I plug the USB cable in I got a menu on my phone with three options. Suddenly this stopped happening. Also there is no response from my PC when I plug the phone in. It does not even show up in device manager. I tried the phone on 4 different PC's on of which is a win Xp machine. I also tried different cables. Nothing . The phone, however charges normally when connected to the PC. I down loaded a program, calfix.exe, and installed it on the XP machine, the menu's popped up on my phone and briefly I worked like normal and then it stopped again. It does not work on win 7. I gave my phone a security wipe and had no success. Any help or is this my second 9720 to pack up. (this was a replacement since the first one kept on restarting itself)

Nokia 6600 fold - no USB connection with PC Suite

Hi,
I've got a new 6600 fold phone. I've insatlled Nokia PC Suite 7.1 and connected the phone with the USB cable. The PC recognized it and installed it just fine. And yet, the PC suite doesn't "see" the phone - I can't choose any of the options to connect on the menu.
Tried to reinstall, read every possible guide, restarted both PC and cell phone several times. Nothing works.
Any ideas what else I can do?
(I don't have a bluetooth connection on the PC)

I was having the same problem with my 6600 slide, when trying to use the software updater. I noticed that the phone was connected on port COM11, i simply changed this to the lowest COM port available (in my case COM1) and the software updater picked it up.
To change COM port right click
My Computer and select Properties
Select Device Manager
Expand Ports (COM & LPT)
Right click your Nokia phone USB and select Properties
Select Port Settings
Click Advanced button
Choose a new COM port from the drop down list
Click OK when done

Losing keyboard USB connection with Lion

I'm running 10.7.3 on my Mac Pro4,1 and have the standard Apple USB keyboard attached while using the Apple BT trackpad. After sleep and/or log off, I am often not able to use the keyboard any longer. To revive it, I must restart my system. Any recommendations for fixing this issue???? Thanks

Most problems of "xxxxx unresponsive after sleep" are caused by USB or FireWire devices that are not compatible with Mac Deep Sleep, which essentially powers them off. If they wake up again, often they are so confused they take out the entire Bus or subsystem they are attached to.
So i would look next at other USB devices.

I have tried many approaches to sharing my mac based printer ( usb connect ) with my Windows 7 Toshiba including bonjour. No can do. Bonjour recognizes a printer that doesn't exist.

Lion printer sharing problem. Using Epson Artisan 810 usb cabled to Imac Lion 10.7.2. Can't get my Windows 7 computer to print using bonjour over my network. 1st Windows recognizes Artisan 810, then it shifts to a non exixtent computer. Whatever, no printing in windows7

Lion works fine, however first do as I instructed to ensure the settings are correct on the Mac then make sure you run Software Update on the Mac to see that you have the most up-to-date drivers. If you do then the problem is almost certainly a Windows 7 problem. You have to make sure the counter part to Sharing is turned on correctly on the Windows box. Because I don't speak Windows I can't really direct you however I'm sure if you Google something like Printer Sharing Lion & Windows 7 you will find some instructions.

Problem with the USB-connection after upgrade to P...

Hello to everybody!
After upgrading PC-suite, I can't establish a USB-connection with the phone.
Here are the facts:
1) My phone is the E90. Latest software installed (300.34.84)
2) PC-Suite version 7.0.9.2 english. I also tried the greek version, same problem with it also.
3) Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 7.0.2.1. I also installed manually a previous version of the driver (7.0.2.0), but this didn't solve the problem.
4) I didn't have any problem with the older version of PC-suite.
5) I don't have a problem with the cable because the data-transfer-mode works fine.
6) Prior to any installation attempt, I always first uninstalled PC-suite and Cable-driver manually with the windows-xp uninstall program. This was not the fact, only in my first attempt, where I upgraded the pc-suite from inside the program itself.
Please help, because I can't backup and this is very important for me!

Thank you all for your suggestions but nothing of the above worked for me.
After of hours and hours of installing and uninstalling of several versions of the pc-suite I solved the problem as following:
1) Uninstall manually (windows - control panel - add/remove programs)Nokia-PC-Suite, Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver AND PC Connectivity Solution!
2) Restart PC
3) Download and install the new version of Nokia-PC-Suite.
The tricky part is that you have to uninstall the application called "PC Connectivity Solution" manually and since the title of the application dosn't include the Nokia-Name you have first to find out that this program is Nokia-related!
Once again, thanks to everybody who took the time to make suggestions and especially to cricfancy who made me aware of the fact that PC Connectivity Solution is a nokia application!
Finally, I would like to make a statement for Nokia:
People, if you are not sure about an update then keep it in beta and don't make it available to the public!!! I lost hours and hours on search and made countless installs and uninstalls to find out what was wrong. Under the line, I had made no mistakes in my update from the start and the whole problem was based on your software! This is not acceptable!

Iphone while getting On showing itunes logo with usb connection

Dear Sir,
I was upaditng my iphone 4s for from IOS 5.1.1 to IOS 6.1.2 by connecting with a personnel hotspot wifi connection. While doing this my iphone got switch OFF and then automatically got ON and the showing " Itunes logo with usb connection with up arrow".
Also i tried to switch OFF and ON 2 to 3 times but still showing same.
Can you please assist me , what i have to do now, to get my Iphone ON as normal like before.
