USB connection with Nokia N70

While my imac can see the N70 via the USB connection, isync doesn't see the phone. I want to transfer photos/video from the phone to the imac and imagine the usb to be way faster than bluetooth. Can anyone hopefully point out an obvious solution to the dilemma??

I'm not familiar with the N70 but I have a N3230.
I simply remove the MMC card from the phone and plug it into my USB card reader. It then mounts itself as a drive on the desktop and I can manipulate its content.

  • Proxy client (over USB connection) with DHCP assigned IP address doesn't work with FRDM-K64F

    Hello,
    after reading about the issues on this forum with a static IP address on the Freescale FRDM-K64F board I went for an DHCP address but I can't get the proxy client to work over a USB connection with DHCP either.
    My console tells me the following:
    RTC Time: Wed 2014-01-01 00:07:27
    Network initialized
    IP Address:      10.143.xxx.yyy (xxx and yyy is real numbers, just changing them for the forum to letters)

    Gateway:         10.143.xxx.yyy
    MAC-address:     00:0c:00:06:70:00
    And when I try o to connect with the following command :
    java -jar proxy.jar -socket 10.143.xxx.yyy
    I get the following output and no CLI interface:
    Trying to open socket connection with device: 10.143.xxx.yyy:2201
    Connected to the socket: Socket[addr=/10.143.xxx.yyy,port=2201,localport=49605]

    I don't know if this matter but my java version is:
    java version "1.8.0_31"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_31-b13)
    Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.31-b07, mixed mode)
    Any ideas or am I missing something completely?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi, Andy. Please excuse my ignorance, I am very new at this ME embedded stuff. I had my challenges, but was finally able to get my board up with a static address. I went through a lot of headaches, but finally got the board flashed with the latest bin. I then updated the jwc_properties.ini file on the SD card to include:
    # Whether static configuration or DHCP server is used do get IP address. Possible values: dhcp,static
    ip.method = static
    # IP address,used with static IP configuration only
    ip.addr = 192.168.0.30
    # Network mask,used with static IP configuration only
    ip.netmask = 255.255.255.0
    # Network gateway,used with static IP configuration only
    ip.gateway = 192.168.0.1
    # DNS server,used with static IP configuration only
    ip.dns = 208.67.222.222
    # MAC address
    mac.addr = 01:02:03:04:05:06
    I was then put the card into the board, disconnected both USB cables, and then powered it up. From that point I was able to ping the board. I can now use Device Manager in NetBeans to connect to the device.
    I am struggling quite a bit with many issues. It seems that when I try to stop the app from NetBeans, the "please wait" dialog hangs forever. I have to use Windows Task Manager to kill the "JavaW" process tree and reconnect the board.
    I have also had trouble understanding the GPIO pin assignments. Another gotcha was trying to use the AutoStart feature. Since the sample app never cleanly exited, I thought that I bricked the board. The secret is to power it down, remove the SD card, and then delete all files EXCEPT the jwc_properties.ini file, put the SD card back in, then power up. It seems that the board forgets that the MIDlet was installed.
    Hope this helps others out there.
    Please everybody, post your experiences here. There seem to be very few of us, and finding pearls in the dust is rare right now.
    Regards,
    Pete

Usually when I plug anything via USB port the comp find it, but it doesn't happened to my phone... Please, can someone help me? Can someone give me some information what to do with it?

    Did you previously install any themes or applications on the mass storage of your phone and did you by any chance update your firmware after that?
    Have a look at this thread which discusses the issue of "ghost applications" quite well.

  • Help with Nokia N70 + Belkin Bluetooth USB + OS 10.4.6

    Hello
    I've seen previous threads relating to the problems Apple's Bluetooth File Exchange has in recognising/pulling up the contents of a Nokia N70. The advice for N70 users wishing to transfer their photos to the Mac has been to send photos individually from the Gallery in the N70. This process doesn't even work for me, despite the fact that Bluetooth File Exchange and iSync both recognise my phone just fine.
    My questions therefore are:
    -- Is there a known solution to Bluetooth File Exchange's inability to list content of a Nokia N70?
    -- Is there another Bluetooth application (shareware or other) that can do what the Bluetooth File Exchange can't (in this case)?
    -- Why can't I send photos individually from the N70 to my Mac? Is my Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter (Class 2; v1.2) not the right thing?
    Help please!

    It works fine for me, I can even mark several of them and send them in one operation.
    Since you are concerned about your Adapter, why don't you try the procedure in a Mac with 1.4.7.

  • Non-Compatible USB Connection For Nokia 6263

    I'm unable to connect my Nokia 6263 using the PC Suite Application, why?

    I alss have exactly the same problem. The error message says - "Nokia XpressMusic 5800 connected in a non compatible USB mode". So it does not connect with the computer. Yet its fine on my laptop and I'm able to connect succesfully. So why is it OK on the laptop but not on the Desktop? Both O/S are Win Vista Home Premium and are up to date with service packs etc/.

  • D-link bluetooth adapter with Nokia N70 problem

    I bought a D-link Bluetooth adapter to sync my Nokia N70 with my iMac G5 (1st gen). Adapter is perfectly accepted. Paring with N70 goes well. Sending files: no problem. But: iSync says cannot connect to this device. I have all updates for iSync and MacOS X 10.4.6.
    How to solve this? Any solutions or experiences much appreciated!
    Frank

    In my services field it says:
    SDP Server, AppleAgent, Hands-Free Audio Gateway, Headset Audio Gateway, OBEX File Transfer, SyncMLClient, Nokia OBEX PC Suite Services, OBEX Object Push, Imaging, Dial-Up Networking, Salling Clicker
    Paired: Yes
    Configured: Yes
    Favorite: Yes
    Connected: No
    Serial Port: Yes
    Encouraged to play around again, I found out that while sending a file from a SE K750 i it appeared in iSync, while before it did not. I repeated the same with the Nokia N70: as soon I was having an active connection sending files and at the same time ordered it to add a device to iSync it accepted it.
    Now bluetooth seems to be working, except for one thing. When I use Bluetooth to connect my iBook and iMac I'm able to send files, but I'm not able to browse the other computer. Again it say something about services....

  • Could not connect with nokia pc suite

    I have one nokia 2690 and in its connectivity option is given nokia pc suite. I installed nokia pc suite 7.1 on pc. But when i tried to connect my phone with usb cable a message from the bottom right corner of the taskbar of pc pops up and says "usb device not recognised" and also "click this balloon to fix this problem". When I clicked on the balloon it opened a window in the first tab of which my usb posts were listed- one was showing HID COMPLIANT MOUSE and the other in which i had connected the phone was showing UNKNOWN DEVICE. The other tab was of DRIVER and it shows No drivers are installed for this device. But I know that windows and nokia pc suite automatically install required drivers. I disconnected cable from my phone and also switched the usb ports but again the same message appeared. I also uninstalled each and everything that nokia pc suite installed on my pc and also the nokia pc suite itself and again reinstalled pc suite but of no help.What would you suggest- is my cable not compatible with my phone(i borrowed it from my friend but it connect to my phone perfectly) or the cable is damaged or nokia pc suite version 7.1 not compatible with nokia 2690 or anything else? Thanks...

  • Not able to connect with nokia music store in lumi...

    Getting frustration to connect to Nokia music store in my Lumia 920.. Basically this device brought at singapoor and now am using @ India...i doesn't know the reason.. While connecting to store, itz showing unable to connect and contact Nokia service... Plz help me some one... Plz

    Bad news is you may not get Nokia Music on this phone in India if you bought it from Singapore. Nokia Music is not available in all countries and is linked with the IMEI of the device thereby also to the Phone's variant...so even if it gets activated, you will not get any Local Music.

    Hi!, Ranothil: If you have the next cable and "null modem" (http://commerce.hpcalc.org/serialcable.php), you can transfer, anydata, from HP50G, to PC and viceversa, across Connectivity Kit (Conn4x), without problem. Please, see this link, with instruction's, for transfer data with serial cable, null modem and connectivity kit ... http://sense.net/~egan/skb/ and/or ... http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/hpmuseum/archv017.cgi?read=125259 Note: Better, if you transfer data, from HP50G to, PC and viceversa, across the microUSB.

  • Problem while using Internet USB Connection with Macbook Pro

    Hi...
    My name is udayan and i am from India, I am using MACBOOK PRO from last 1 year. For most of this period i have used wi-fi connection for my laptop. But recently i have purchased a Relience Net connect Device for Internet facility. As soon as i started using this device, i have started facing an unusual problem. Whenever i start using it, after 5-10 mins. a fade screen appears and asks me to RESTART the laptop. This keeps on happening after every 10-15 mins which is pretty annoying. I have tried to use the same Internet device on normal laptops and it works just fine with that machine.
    Can you please help me to understand this phenomena? Is it a MAC limitation or something else?
    Hope to hear it from you soon.....
    Cheers!!!

    I tried to connect with Ethernet the MACBOOK Pro to the modem but the situation hasn't changed
    Are you saying you cannot connect to the internet wirelessly and through the ethernet?  If so, there is something else going on.

  • Nokia 6600 fold - no USB connection with PC Suite

    Hi,
    I've got a new 6600 fold phone. I've insatlled Nokia PC Suite 7.1 and connected the phone with the USB cable. The PC recognized it and installed it just fine. And yet, the PC suite doesn't "see" the phone - I can't choose any of the options to connect on the menu.
    Tried to reinstall, read every possible guide, restarted both PC and cell phone several times. Nothing works.
    Any ideas what else I can do?
    (I don't have a bluetooth connection on the PC)
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I was having the same problem with my 6600 slide, when trying to use the software updater. I noticed that the phone was connected on port COM11, i simply changed this to the lowest COM port available (in my case COM1) and the software updater picked it up.
    To change COM port right click
    My Computer and select Properties
    Select Device Manager
    Expand Ports (COM & LPT)
    Right click your Nokia phone USB and select Properties
    Select Port Settings
    Click Advanced button
    Choose a new COM port from the drop down list
    Click OK when done
