USB Controller with ASMedia ASM 104x chipset
Hello, I have read
here that this controller USB chipset did not work with the developer preview SDK. Can anybody confirm if this still holds true?
Thank you.
Still true, we only support Intel/Renesas.

External GPIB-USB Controller with Windows2000
Is there a Chance to use the external GPIB controller GPIB-USB (NOT the
newer USB-A version) with Windows 2000 ?? The special GPIB driver for the
"A" revision is not working.
Ciao
MatthiasI am not sure if this will fix your problem, but I was able to get a USB GPIB controller to work in Win2K by replacing the file "NiVi488.dll" as described in the following NI support page:

Latency in using USB controller with Satellite E205
I've tried several different keyboard interfaces to use with my E205 via USB and even MIDI and all of them have had a slight delay in reaction time when I play the keys. Anyone have any idea as to how to fix this? I'm up to date with the Realtek audio drivers and have lowered the audio buffers in my recording programs as far as they go (34KB). The programs I'm using this with are Cubase LE and Reason 4.0.
I appreciate any insight anyone might be able to offer. The easiest thing to do is using the default parameters of the MK-449C and assign those to the Logic parameters you wish to control. Check out Logic's manual at page 498 for learning how to program new assignments for unsupported control surfaces.

Satellite 2450-201: USB Controller only 1.1 instead of 2.0
I have formated the hard drive on my Satellite 2450-201 and loaded Widows XP SP2. I loaded all the drivers from the utilities disk and everything is working fine except the USB ports are only running at 1.1 instead of 2. There is a yellow exclamation mark in device manager on USB controller. I have searched for a driver from Toshiba downloads but there is nothing available.
Can anyone suggest a soloution to this problem.
JohnHi John
As far as I know there is no driver for USB controller. When you install chipset driver all USB ports should be recognized properly. Exclamation Mark in device manager is an indication that the device is not configured correctly. Try to remove the controller and restart the unit. After that check the status in device manager again.
Is some external device connected to the unit by USB ports? -
Pcmcia usb controller doesn't work with Tecra 8200
Hi,
I have an old TECRA 8200 notebook (Intel Pentium III, 847 MHz, 512 MB RAM) OS: WIN XP with latest patches. For it has no USB 2.0 I have bought a PCMCIA USB Controller (Chip NEC). The controller has been recognised but XP is asking for a driver. The controller hasn't been delivered with a driver.
Does any one has an idea how I could get the controller up and running.
thanks
regards
FredI mean, independet from the fact that this is not really a toshiba related problem, could you please post the name of the USB PCMCIA device?
I mean the manufacturer or something because if XP asks for a driver then there should be one available, or?
Please, give a feedback and what you could do additionally is to google for the PCMCIA device. The best way is often to search for the chip (in your case NEC).

Reading with SSD X300 Sata to USB Controller
Hey Guys,
my x300 stopped working so I want to get my data from the SSD of the x300. I bought a Sata to USB cable and connected the SSD to a Windows and a Mac Computer. Both recognize the SSD but cannot execute any operations like reading or writing.
In fact in Windows the SSD is not listed as a hard drive but in the utility manager the SATA-USB Controller appears.
However, probably I am just naive and the SSD is encrypted or something but I don't even know what to google here so please give me a hint on how to retrieve data from this SSD!
RegardsHi Maddes,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per your query we understood that you are facing the issue SSD drive.

Using Cypress CY7C67300 Usb controller on Virtex5 to communicate with computer
Hi,
I have been having troubles recently to send and receive data between my computer and my FPGA.
I am using a Virtex5 board with Cypress CY7C67300 Usb controller and I would like to use the peripheral usb port which is connected to SIE2 port B.
Please note that the rest of my project is written in VHDL and synthesied on ISE.
The board I am using is Digilent Genesys.
Any ideas how I can use the usb port? What alternatives would be better since all I need is basic communication with my computer (send and receive bytes)?
Regards,
Sherifhi,
there is an IP name EPC that can help you connect to the USB controller.

Booting IDE drive with USB controller
Greetings,
I'm trying to boot an old IDE drive with one of those IDE/USB controllers. My computer recognizes the USB controller:
usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
scsi8 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 4
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
scsi 8:0:0:0: Direct-Access PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 CCS
sd 8:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI disk
sd 8:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 0
usb-storage: device scan complete
But I keep getting this error:
NTFS-fs error (device sdb): ntfs_fill_super(): Unable to determine device size.
Is it possible to manually input the size? If not, are there any alternatives to get this drive to boot? I just want to recover some pictures.
Thanks for your help.I think you could use a rescue livecd, or archinstaller image to boot and then mount your ntfs partition and copy the desired pictures to your usb stick or usb storage.

I can't here the recording I made with a midi/USB controller.
I'm have problems with logic pro 9.1.8 sometimes with the midi/usb controller. I just recorded a track with the midi/usb controller which i just heard myself record it but now that I'm done with the recording I cant here any of the USB/midi controller tracks that I just made. So now I cant here all the tracks playing at once. I can only hear the files that I dragged in from itunes. What am I doing wrong?
Are the midi regions that you recorded showing up? Also, have you checked if anything is accidentally soloed or muted?

Satellite A210-133: How to install Intel or via usb controller on windows 7
Hello!
I have a toshiba satellite a210-133 which i have upgrade it to windows 7 32 bit version.
Everything have been installed fine, but i have an intraoral machine which is connected with usb and it does not work properly.
I have questioned the manifacture of the machine and they told me that it wants Intel or VIA USB controller to work properly.
so i look at my computer\manage and i saw that
i have not have this controller.
Can you help me about it??Hi mate
To be honest Im not quite sure what USB controller you mean exactly.
The notebook supports common USB 2.0 ports.
The Win 7 provides own Microsoft USB drivers which controls this USB 2.0 ports.
If the USB ports dont work correctly, then you should check if you need to install the chipset driver.
Usually such chipset driver can be found on chipset manufacturer page.
As far as I know the notebook uses the AMD M690V chipset (code name RS690MC + SB600)
So check this.
Furthermore many 3rd party USB devices needs an own driver.
I dont know if you intraoral machine needs such drivers but I think that the manufacturer of this machine should know this. So if you need such driver, please get in contact with the intraoral machine manufacturer to get such software. -
USB Controller Missing in Device Manager (HP Envy dv6t-7200)
I have 3 USB 2.0 ports but I'm only able to use one of them. Device Manager has a yellow warning symbol next to "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" and I'm unable to find any drivers. I'm not sure what chipset I have because my OS didn't come with anything downloaded, so it's missing many drivers.
Specs:
HP Envy dv6t-7200
Windows 7 Professional SP1
Intel Core i5-3210M CPU @ 2.5 GHz
This question was solved.
View Solution.You're very welcome.
When you don't see a complete set of drivers for a selected operating system, that means HP doesn't really support that OS.
They used to not list any drivers for unsupported operating systems, so at least the partial list is better than nothing.
I know that doesn't help those who need drivers for a specific operating system, but some of us know where you can find them. -
Pair PS3 Dualshock 3 Sixaxis controller with Macbook Pro
I have read many threads with instructions on how to pair a PS3 Dualshock 3 controller with my Macbook Pro
I have stumbled at the same hurdle every time without success in that no matter what variation of connecting the controller with lights flashing quickly or slowly or not at all, having used a paperclip to reset the controller it never shows up in the Bluetooth preferences box it's just blank.
I've tried two different controllers which work on my PS3 so I don't think its the controllers, I can get my iPhone to show up on the Bluetooth preferences box so the bluetooth is working.
I'm running OS Yosemite on a 2014 Macbook Pro retina - can anyone help?Im having the same issue as the two above. The controller works with steam games, however is completely unresponsive to third part key mapping software, and it can't be found in the bluetooth system preferences, only under the bluetooth dropdown menu. I have not been asked to pair it, and here are the bluetooth settings showing the current state of my device. Hope this helps, and someone can help me solve the mystery as Ive already but alot of time into researching this cause to no avail.

Thinkpad L412 Integrated Camera and USB Controller Not working
My Integrated Camera has disappeared from the device manager listing, and "USB not connected". Further, the USB Controller has an "Unknown Device" with no driver. None of my USB ports work beyond power. I cannot find any drivers or other way to resolve. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for assistance!!!Grab the latest chipset driver package from Intel's download center, and run the setup EXE with the -overall switch.

Hello,
I have a 15' MBP of the most recent generation, no problem with it. But I was wondering if the USB controller was known not to be very efficient. Explanations :
I am developing an application under Windows, that manages high-rate transfers with an USB device from a third party company. On my old PC/WinXP, that rate can be up to 38MB/s (with no other software connected). On a brand new PC laptop/Vista, this is the same. I expected my MBP to behave the same.
I have installed WinXP on my MBP, and run it natively (no virtualization). In the same conditions as previously described, the rate I get is about 31 MB/s. I tried on both USB ports of my MBP, of course with no other devices plugged in. The difference is big from 38 to 31.
So, I suspect that the USB controller may not be very good on the MBP. Is it known ? Am I missing the point ?
Regards,
Pierre ChatelierThat's really not that big of a difference with respect to the type of comparison you are making. If you had to MacBook Pros (same generation) sitting side-by-side and getting different results, that difference might mean something. In this case, you are comparing totally different hardware. Each of the machines you are talking about likely have different chipsets, USB controllers, processors, and a slew of other things that can impact the throughput. Note that the USB controller supports other devices which may impact it's performance:
USB 2.0 Controller
The South Bridge includes an integrated USB 2.0 controller supporting the Bluetooth module, IR receiver, built-in iSight camera, built-in trackpad and keyboard, ExpressCard/34 slot, and 2 external, high-powered USB 2.0 ports. The USB ports comply with the Universal Serial Bus Specification 2.0. For more information, see Universal Serial Bus Developer Note.

Does anyone know how to determine the bandwidth of the on-board USB controller? I plan to connect 3 USB 2.0 peripherals that will stream data (video) at ~250Mbits/s. Each port is well within the 480Mbits/s USB 2.0 specification, but I can find nothing on the USB controller to memory interface (with I will need to handle ~750Mbits/s (100Mbytes/s). I can also find nothing stating the DMA capabilities of the on-board USB controller.
Does anyone have any leads/info on this? You should make sure each device is connected to a differant USB root HUB (each pair of ports on the board is connected to one root HUB).
Will it kame it to the memory, that depends alot on the chipset and what exactly will be going on in the process.
The southbridge with the USB controllers shares a path to the northbridge along with the PCI devices and IDE controllers so if you need HDD access at the same time it might be a problem (depending on the chipset).

What would prevent my starting Firefox 3.6.10 on Windows 7?
Regardless of how I try to bring up Firefox 3.6.10, from Desktop, from Windows menu, from program library, nothing happens. No error message nor any sign of Firefox. This happened a couple of days ago and then tonight.

Does iWeb 2.0 also have this weird bug where iWeb randomly transforms text into graphics and then posts it? It is very annoying and I would happily pay for the upgrade to get rid of the bug (since Apple apparently never bothered to fix it for free).
