USB device lag on new Macbook Pro

I have 2 workstations at home, Desktop PC(Windows) and Macbook Pro(MB133ZH/A), leopard 10.5.2 with latest updates.
And there is LAG with any USB/Bluetooth mouse i try to connect to my Macbook Pro. If i connect those devices to PC, i feel that they moving almost faster than i move my hand =)))) Installed VMware Fusion for osx and put a Windows on it = no lag on USB/Bluetooth mpuse,No lag on Parallels too. And this is NOT a Acceleration Curve or moving speed involved, its just LAG,a latency between i move the mouse and then cursor moves.
So anyone familiar with that problem?
Tryed: Leopard Erase and Install+ no updates(=LAG),Leopard Erase and install + latest updates(=LAG). VMWare fusion + winxp SP2(=no LAG), Parallels + windows xp sp2(=no LAG).And this is NOT the Windows VS OSX issue, i just need it to work, because my USB MIDI decices are behaving same way, they exhibit latency in OSX and no latency or minimal latency in Windows. I m Dj and producer and this is vital for me, please help.

  • New USB not working in new macbook pro. What do I do?

I have just bought a brand new 16 GB USB stick for use with my 2 month old macbook pro. My mac is not recognising the presence of USB stick but I have checked and the USB works in the other family laptop which is a Toshiba. I have used other USB's with the mac so I know it is not just as simple as the ports are not working. Help!

For reasons unknown to me, your MBP does not like that USB device.  I assume you have tried all available USB ports.
    Ciao.

  • Is it possible to use a USB hub on a new MacBook Pro with Maverickss?

I have used a powered Q-Store USB2 hub on first my old trust MacBook with the 13 inch screen running System X.6.8 for years; then I switched it over to my new 13 In. MacBook Pro (non retina) with Mavericks X.9.2 and it still works great. It is powered and seems to run a full load including USB hard drives, camera when wanted, cooling pad with fan, printer/scanner/copier combo, charging a MP3 player or Galaxy S4, apple mouse and keyboard, all with no trouble and no drop outs. I let an old Firewire 400 or 800 hard disk stay with my old Macintosh for now as it mirrors it, but sometimes hook it up with no problem except it gets hot.
I have a new USB3  WD Passport 3 hard drive and a 32 gb USB 3 memory stick. I wanted to put these on a USB3 hub and use one of the ports for the faster items. I can run either my WD My Passport 3 Gb drive that I use to mirror my internal drive as long as it is alone. I can also plug a 32 gb A Data memory stick in fine alone except things get a bit snug, and there's no more room on the USB 2 hub for the memory stick. If I do not use a hub for the one port I have to either use the Hard Drive or the memory stick, not both. I was using the memory stick to port files back and forth between my old and new computers at least for a while. The USB 3 peripherals work reliably when plugged in alone, but the moment a hub gets in the picture even if only one item is plugged into it, things drop in and out. It does not matter if it is the powered USB 3 hub or the non-powered Anker USB 3 4 port hub. The USB 2 items simply work but the USB 3 ones only work alone. I have looked at the power specifications. It seems like one hard drive uses all of the power the hub can put out.
It looks like the USB 3 is rather limited on Macintosh computers is all I can conclude. There may be extra speed, but what good is it if you can only run one peripheral at a time? It seems like even a hub stresses it unless it is a hub and a memory stick or two. I even changed to system settings to keep my hard drives from going to sleep, but still it drops out randomly if hooked to a hub and runs perfectly when plugged in directly. I had hoped to use it for an emergency start up disk if needed, though I must say the rather incredible StoreEdge Micro SDX card works great for that purpose and seems to belong.
That old USB 2 hub, even with a smaller one plugged in with 2 portable hard drives still works flawlessly on the other port and never drops out.
I have not tested the Firewire 800 port long enough to decide, except it gets hot if it reads very long.. The old Firewire 800 / USB 2 hard disk has more than one port on it unlike so many today. I had to use a Firewire 800 to 400 cable for my old computer. Anyway it works in either computer and stays mounted even when asleep.
Is it possible to use a USB 3 hub with more than one peripheral on a 2012-2013 13 inch MacBook Pro computer with Mavericks? If so which one works? It cannot be good for hard disks to randomly disconnect and reconnect without being dragged to the trash.

no you can't - you have to upgrade it to 16GB yourself.
you can get your RAM from newegg.com, macsales.com.
    the RAM you need is 16GB (8GBX2) DDR3 1600MHz DDR3.
upgrading the RAM yourself will not void your warranty.
you need a #00 Phillips Screwdriver - 10 screws at the bottom - 7 long ones and 3 short ones - just remember where they go when you put the screws back in.

  • USB ExpressCard/34 for new macbook pro.

I was wondering if anybody had any links to confirmed working USB expresscards/34.
I am having trouble finding one for the mac. Most of them say Windows compatible but mention nothing about Mac. I have a usb hub but I'd rather pay more for something that is not hanging off my computer with a wire, but feels as if my Mac had 4 usb ports built in to start with.
Compactness is the Highest importance, hopefully I can find something that I don't ever have to unplug. 2 more usb ports should do. Also are ExpressCards/34 powered? I would prefer something flush but given my options are limited I'll look at anything.
Typically, I usually have a Mouse, Wacom Tablet, External HD, and sometimes a Card Reader to copy things to my External HD or a USB Keydrive, and all theses wires with my hub makes my desk look like black, grey and white spaghetti.

Reputable dealers will show you the way...(grin).

  • Brand New Macbook Pro one of the USB wont recognize device

Hi, I recently acquired a brand new macbook pro i5 core model for school. It was running perfect and I was so happy with my machine the last few days then suddenly last night my mouse didnt work no more. I thought it was strange so I tried the port that was closer to the power adapter and it worked in that slot. I tried plugging it into it several times again and no luck. I tried restarting my computer, no luck. I tried plugging in my Ipod nano, no luck but works in the other one. I went on here and looked for options. So then I tried resetting the Pram, and the smc, several several times, to no avail. I then even got this thing call usb prober and that didnt make it recognize it either. I am at a lost of what to do. The strange thing is though it WILL run my laptop cooler, it just will not recognize any devices?? Any help without having to go to a Genius would be great, thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Your USB port may not be delivering the power it should. The best thing to do would make an appointment at the genius bar and have it evaluated. You are under warranty, and this sounds like it may be a hardware problem that Apple needs to fix for you.
    Good luck!

    Hi Auracles1,
Here's a pretty discussion regarding wireless printing with this device and a Mac.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-networking-and-wireless/HP-Officejet-6500-E 709n-wireless-issue/m-p/258853
I have a similar OfficeJet and it was a multi-step process. (1) Install printer drivers on the machine, (2) Add the printer queue in print & fax, (3) Run the "setup wizard" from the disc for wireless printing.

  • How do I enable my new macbook pro to become my default computer to sync all my apple devices-iphone 4, touch, ipod classic, nano?  My five year old dell's hard drive has only 2GB of space available and is currently the computer I use for all these device

I have a new macbook pro that I wish to sync all my apple devices--ipodclassic,nano,iphone4,touch-- that are currently synced with a 5 year old windows based computer with only 2GB of available hard drive space. How can I do this and maintain all of my info-contacts, songs, photos etc without losing this data< Thanks

you can either update to lion/ios5 and use the cloud to sync or you can plug in said devices and sync them with your MBP instead of your dell via a tethered usb connection.
also, sign into your itunes store account on your mac.

What problems specifically? If you have a problem you should start your own thread and explain the problem in detail.
External USB devices including hard drives and DVD work fine on the new Macbook Pros.

  • USB not powering external drive on new macbook pro

My new macbook pro retina display is not powering an external 750GB GDrive moblie. Is anyone having this problem?

It seems as if a number of people are having problems with the USB 3.0 ports on the 2012 MBP's - particularly when it comes to external storage devices.
As you  don't have a FW800 port (or, yet, an adapter) the best thing you can do is either return it to your local Apple Store and see if they know of a 'fix' (which I doubt - someone would have posted that by now), whether it's only occurring with some MBP models, and you can always file a bug report with Apple: https://bugreport.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/RadarWeb.woa/wa/signIn - you must sign in with your Apple ID.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there have been quite a few people posting here with the same problem.

  • XP/Bootcamp 3.1:  Slow Keyspan USA-19HS USB/Serial -- new Macbook Pro 17"

I have a new Macbook Pro 17" running Windows XP on Boot Camp 3.1. I am using a Keyspan USA-19HS USB/Serial adapter with its latest driver (from Tripplite that now owns Keyspan). The XP was originally an SP2 install but was updated with all Microsoft updates before installing the Keyspan.
I previously used this same Keyspan with Windows XP/Boot Camp 2.x, and with this same Keyspan driver, on an older Macbook, and it ran just fine for years.
On my new Macbook Pro, it runs without complaints or failures, but it runs at about 1/4 the serial throughput that it should have. I have compared the COM port settings for the Keyspan with those on the older Macbook and they are identical. Using 19200 baud. Device Manager shows no problem indications.
    Any suggestions?

I have the same computer and the same issue in Bootcamp. I haven't noticed any correlation with a context menu however. Hoping for an updated driver soon to fix this...

    Hi,
I purchased Huawei Dongle and trying to connect with my new MacBook Pro (OS- Mountain Lion) USB port 3.0 but unfortunately it does not support.
When I plugged in my macbook the power is flowing in dongle due green light blinking twice in every 3 sec but no connection found or diver shown.
Please let me know how I have to use it. I got some suggestion for USB hub 2.0 but It does not make any sense and driver installation.
So please suggest proper direction to use it and provide link to install any driver.
    Thanks
    Tauheed Ahmad

Yes Clinton I did same, but they were (Huawei customer support) surprised about this problem, They behave like they have no idea about USB 2.0 and  3.0 knowledge. They handsUp that reason I posted my problem in this forum.
So is there any better solution to use any mediator between these USB version handling, Please let me know.
    Thanks

  • I have my new HD in a USB enclosure connected to my MacBook Pro and I want to put a fresh copy of Mountain Lion on it. But I do not have an install DVD as I got ML as a download from the App Store. What do I do?

I have my new HD in a USB enclosure connected to my MacBook Pro and I want to put a fresh copy of Mountain Lion on it. I'm told that I need to boot from the Installation Disk to start. But I do not have an install DVD as I got ML as a download from the App Store. Can I download ML from the App Store again, but this time directly to my new HD?

Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
You can also use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your present setup to it and boot from it.
    Most commonly used backup methods
However, SOME external enclosures are not bootable, you will soon find out.
