USB Devices not working in Remote Desktop

Hi,
I have tried to use USB devices in Remote Desktop session. I did enable RemoteFX for USB devices and select Other supported RemoteFX USB devices before
establish connection; but, cannot find any device in Remote Desktop. Did I miss any configuration?
Regards,

Hi,
From your description, I understand you may experience 'USB device can’t be redirected on TS' issue. Please check the following aspects one by one and let know the result:
1)Please open Remote Desktop Connection, click Local Resource tab and More button, unfold device node. Please check if you choose all device letter.
2)Open Terminal Services Configuration, right-click RDP-tcp, choose properties. In Client settings, please check if disable device has been applied.
3)Please run Rsop.msc on Terminal server and see if Do not allow driver redirection has been configured under computer configurations\Administrative Template\Windows Component\Terminal server\Device and Resource redirection

iphone 4S will not charge, error that USB device not working, found any suggestions?

    Hello Chambless,
The troubleshooting steps below can help get your iPhone to charge.
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • HP Laserjet 1020 not working through remote desktop

I have a hp laserjet 1020 that I am vpn and remote desktop to a computer at work. I am suupose to be able to print from remote desktop to my local printer (the hp laserjet 1020) using the microsoft terminal Easy Print. The printer is showing up in the printer list, but when I try to print I get an error of Printer not ready.  The printer is working fine on the local machine, just not through the remote desktop. I have install the printer drivers on the machine that I am remoting into , just to make sure. Is there anything else I can try. I am not finding any firewalls on either end blocking it?

After many months of frustration and 7 1/2 hours with Microsoft advanced prof support I've finally pinned down this printer and a slew of others.  This problem as far as I have come across deals exclusively with HP printers.  In simple terms:  the drivers are flawed.  This 1022 is a prime example.  It prints locally and via TCP/IP just fine. I have about 7 other printers and dummy printers in my printer folder.  Enter a remote desktop session and ALL of them populate except the 1022.  This shows that the hooks and RDT finders are locating your printers and installing them properly as remote printers.  All except the 1022.
Log out of your RDT session: goto the local 1022 setup and change the printer driver to a PCL driver.  I used a 1200 PCL driver.  Now log back into your RDT server and hockus pocus! there is your printer.  Totally un-usable because the driver will not run this printer.  Caveat:  each time I did this XP crashed (I couldn't get to the properties TAB anymore -- I had to un-install the 1022 and then re-install it with at least 1 reboot in the process)
Moving on we go to the HP OfficeJet/LajerJet2840.  Same thing.  It won't pass through as remote printer in RDT.  Go local.  Set the printer driver to AppleLaserWriter8500 and boom. (same logout, change, back in steps) and your LJ2840 shows up and works.
While I will have to wait until tomorrow I am betting that this will fix the exact same problem with the HP Officejet 8500A all in one with the exact same problem.
Hey HP?  Whats with the drivers??
Another work around if you have a static enough environment is to install your local printer that will not show up under RDT on the server, and then point the port to your fixed IP on your router, and passthru port 9100 to your locally installed printer that is failing.  You can now be on RDT and chooses the network printer that is printing to the TCP address of your home (or office) router.

  • MACBOOK USB device not working in WIndows XP

My MACBOOK USB devices is working fine in leopard OS(10.5.1) but in windows XP professional the USB Devices is not working after I did dual boot. Please help how would I fix the problem.
    Thanks
    Mike

Please try the above procedure first as mentioned by SilentFlyer. If that does not work then highlight My Computer and Right Click on mouse. On the menu that pops up Choose Properties. Click on the Hardware tab and then Device Manager. Scroll all the way down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Click on the little plus sign to the left to open the sub-components. Does any one of them have a yellow exclamaation mark? That indicates that something is not functional. Please let us know what you see there.

  • AE 2220 - USB Devices Not Working

My AE 2220 will not properly mount and access USB devices in any of the USB ports.  I've unsuccessfully tried to use three different thumb drives and a Sony camcorder and experimented with every available USB port.  The AE 2220 is running the factory default Windows 7 installation.  AFAIK, USB devices never properly worked.  Not sure what to do from here.
Here are some symptoms I see after plugging in USB devices:
Status bar appears as the device is being read/recognized and the status bar freezes.  Other times the status bar moves quickly at first, then slows to a crawl.  Sometimes the bar gets to the end and starts over in an endless loop.
Sometimes a message box appears stating that the USB device is damaged (which it is not) and asks if I want to repair the device.  Clicking "Yes" does not fix anything.
On some occasions the device mounts, but when I try to copy files to the desktop the copy freezes and hangs and I have to unplug the device and quit the process.
    Can someone please help.

    Hi,
In addition to some group policy issue as Balaji Kundalam suggested, there should also be some permission problems.
We could run gpresult /r to check which policy that might have effect on this issue.
And for the permissions, we may take a look at the following thread:
External Hard Drive "is not accessible. Access is denied."

  • Ipad bluetooth keyboard not working with remote desktop

My clients ipad bluetooth keyboard works any other time, just not when connected to his servers via the remote desktop. PC Windows 7 Servers.
I'm trying to get the keyboard information, but any ideas?

Are you using an app like LogMeIn Ignition to access your servers? I believe that LogMeIn Ignition requires you to tap a little keyboard button near the bottom of the screen to activate use of the keyboard (that's how it works in Splashtop Remote, can't be much different in LogMeIn Ignition.)
Are you sure the app you have supports blue tooth keyboard support with remote desktop? (not sure if they have to, I just recall seeing this in Splashtop patch notes awhile ago.)

  • Usb devices not working after 2.6.38 kernel upgrade

    Hello everyone,
today I've upgraded my aur system to the latest packages version , kernel 2.6.38-2  .
After the reboot the usb keyboard doesn't work at all , as the usb mouse, leaving me struck at the login screen .
If I try to modify kernel boot parameters in grub or in a live distro  (sysrescd) the keyboard works flawlessy .
    Any clue ?
    thanks in advance

I just updated to 2.6.38.7-1. The USB devices that I have plugged in before booting work (e.g USB headset). If I try to insert a new USB device, it isn't recognized. Flash-disks and USB mice that worked under the last kernel aren't working at all.
Is there a command that lets you "turn on" a USB device, or force the kernel to recognize it? I tried messing around in /sys/bus, but even in the root shell, I got "invalid write" errors.

  • USB devices not "popping up" onto desktop

Help! When connecting USB devices to my Mac Book Pro they device does not "pop-up" onto the desktop. It is present in the System Profiler, but I am unable to use the devices - ie. I cannot use my external hard drive for Time Machine? Any suggestions. Thanks heaps.

    Try this:
Close all active applications you've launched. When you see the word "Finder" at the left end of the menu bar next to the Apple icon. click it to get this:
Highlight "Preferences..." as shown. When Finder Preferences, open see if any of the check boxes in the upper part of the "General" tab are unchecked:
That example is from Tiger OS 10.4.11. In Snow Leopard, there is an additional checkbox "External drives." Check all the boxes and see if the USB devices show up.

  • Screen sharing not working after Remote Desktop 3.2 install

OK, I think I screwed it up.
I'm moving to a new iMac running Mountain Lion, and I need to use Remote Desktop.  I own Remote Desktop 3.2 on DVD, so I installed from disk and launched the app.  My plan was to download the latest update to 3.6.x, but I figured I would launch it to enter my license key and then quit and download the update.
I was given an error that newer components were already installed and clicked the Quit button.  Ugh.  Next I went to Apple's download site and downloaded the newest update but when I ran that installer it told me it could not install on my drive.
My grand plan has now left me with no Remote Desktop, and the built-in Screen Sharing core service beach balls when I try to connect to a remote client.
Is there a way to save me from myself?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
You could try removing all the installed components manually and then try again (install, don't open but update right away).
According to the installer the files are located in:
/Applications/Remote Desktop.app (that one was hard to find )
    /Library/Application Support/Apple/Remote Desktop/
    /Library/Preferences/com.Apple.ARDAgent.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.Apple.RemoteDesktop.plist
    /Library/Receipts/
    /Library/Widgets/RemoteDesktop.wdgt
(not sure if the following files tie into other parts of the OS so removing them may cause issues)
    /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement
    /usr/bin/share/man/man1
perhaps a permission repair after all parts have been deleted and a restart before trying again.

  • USB devices not working after wake from sleep on WinXP!!! HELP PLEASE!

I would like to put my windows xp to sleep whenever I leave the macbook pro for fear of overheating too much when I'm not using it.
The only problem is that I can't use any more USB devices if I plug them in once I wake it from sleep.
Like my mouse for example, I'm using a laser mouse with a usb plugin but it doesn't respond once I try to use it after WinXP on wake....
Experiencing a ton of wake problems lately...
Sleep is important for a MBP....I hope...

Welcome to Windows. Some devices do not like to be put to sleep in Windows.
There could be driver updates or hot fixes from MS to fix these.
A very proven method (though not for battery life) is to instruct the devices not to go to sleep when the system goes to sleep. You can do this via the device manager in the control panel.
Its not a gracious solution but it will do what you want it to do.

  • All USB devices not working.

Installed Leopard (after a lot of problems). Finally "working", minus the small part all my USB ports, or anything i plug into them i should say, won't work. This includes keyboard and mouse, which makes working on that machine impossible.
Anyone have a clue as to what to do now?
The only clue i get, if it is at relevant is that my "tablet driver is not repsonding"... That could or could not be related...

As I recall, in another Leopard forum, the tablet driver must be removed and the new one installed.
There was a detailed description of how to do it on the Tablet support page.
I don't know what Tablet you are using, but yet, that is the reason your USB ports are not working.
Go to the URL for your Tablet and check support for how to remove the driver properly and install the new one.

  • USB Devices not working on cold boot

On a cold boot, I get either my mouse (Microsoft Optical) or my modem (see signature) not switched on.  If I reboot, or just re-plug them in, they switch on and Windows detects them.  The modem is attached to a port on the mobo, and the mouse to a powered USB hub.  The only other device powered at boot is a joypad (Thrustmaster Dual Power 2), which always works at boot.  Devices switched off at boot are a printer/scanner, desktop light, and an extension lead for a thumb drive.
Does anyone have a solution to this?

    Expensive friend,
Step for the same problems, where already I communicated diverse times with the support of the MSI not obtaining a definitive solution for this problem. It does not go to advance nor to make magic, therefore the problem has left of the plate-mother and not of the operational system. I have one mouse of the Microsoft who possesss led and when I give the departure in the PC the same does not light in the screen of informs of devices of the CMOS. It would have.
Then I am obliged to remove and to place mouse of the door usb so that mouse functions. The problem is that I have that to faer this almost all time that I bind the micron.
The bios beta that decided this problem palliative were 1.5B8.
I see that all the ones that pass for this problem are receiving the had respect, therefore this problem already is old and no solution was adopted until the moment for the manufacturer.
If my problem to continue, I will get rid myself of my plate and I will migrarei for another manufacturer who hears me and she respects me, therefore we make many times investment s in products that would not have to give as much migraine.
We buy TVs and DVDs and we do not pass for problems as these.
I was disappointed with the MSI in this part. It would go to acquire a VGA 6600GT, but today I think seriously about not buying more nothing of the MSI.
Still more for that it occurred with the 6800GT that were being sales and in the truth they were 6800NU.What it is this?
I advise to the friend who if not to decide its problem in at least 1 month, it speaks brazenly of its mainboard and it buys of another
manufacturer as the ABIT or same Gibagyte.
I have friends that they possess plates of the Gigabyte and are very happy.

HUH??? You did know this is an English languager board right? If not then please read the forum rules. Also note that hijacking someone else's post so you can complain is against the rules here as well.
This is entirely a user to user forum and as such MSI is not here nor do they read it. So yopur complaints whatever they may be as we can't entirely read your post is not getting to those folks that you want to complain at. Instead you are just making the rest of us upset for no visable reason. If you want to contact MSI to copmplain may I suggest a phone call. You may also want to call someone there that actually speaks the same language so there are no miscommunications as what is happening here.
Edit - his posts on this subject were all removed due to spamming the forum.
