Usb driver on the left side near the lan are not working
The brightness keys are also not working and the usb drives on the left near the lan are not working.

Did you reinstall the operating system?
If so, you are probably missing the graphics and USB3 drivers.

If there is a device labeled SMBus Controller in the device manager, this driver should work for that device.

Ibook keeps making weird noises on the left side near the fan vent
Recently my ibook has been making motor noises as it heats up. Sometimes I can make it go away by lifting the front or back up a lottle bit. Last time I got the noise it wouold not stop at all! I tried shutting down and letting it cool way off.....after 2 hours I started again and the noise was there immediately and would not stop. Please help!!

Welcome to the Discussions.
There are 2 things in that area with motors; the fan and the hard drive. With the noise present at a cold start I would think the hard drive might be going bad.
Launch Disk Utility (in Applications>Utilities) and highlight the drive on the left (upper most in the list). At the bottom of the window you'll see SMART status. Does it say Verified or Failing?

I put in my memory card to the left side of the computer, but I cannot find the file of pictures anywhere. Its not even on my desktop. What should I do and how can I get it to show up on my desktop?
If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

My macbook pro is probably only 2 months old and there is a buzzing/grinding noise coming from the left side of the laptop every time I open it. It may buzz 5 times in a span of 30 seconds then not make the noise the remaining time that it is open. I have read that it may have to do with my fan or HD. I am under apple care for a good amount of time but am wondering if this is a mjor issue. I would not be able to get to an apple care center in the near future due to being at school. Should I be worried or will it last by the time I am home in 2 months.
Sounds like the disk in your MBP is accessing data on wake up
If you are still concerned you can take it into the Apple Store where they can hear it to be sure

On the left side of the mail page there is an "On My Mac" header with several folders included. One of the folders, in white, is one called "recovered mail" with 843 messages in it. I don't know how this got there and am not able to delete it. I am also no longer receiving any email now. Help!

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

On the left side of the display (MBP mid 2012) suddenly just stripes

While I was working there suddenly appeared just vertical stripes (width about 3") on the left side of the display. I read a lot about display-problems with the MBP 2011 but not with the 2012... The crazy thing is when I took a screenshot to post here you couldn't see anything and the display just seems fine. Am I right thinking that the MBP is fine but the display is broken? Many thanks in advance for your thoughts, i'm desperate...

Yes because a screenshot is taken directly from the output of the graphics chip.

Yes, probably a delamination of the electronics that drives the vertical array. -
What happened to the recently purchased icon on the left side of the playlist? I used to could purchase songs from one of my computers and then put them on the second authorized computer by selecting recently purchased. Is there another way?
Well in order to keep all the ratings, playcounts ect ect of songs in iTUnes, place the songs back into there original folders/places on the "Old harddrive" by cutting (Not copying) them from the new Harddrive. Now iTunes should report the songs has being there and have ! marks beside the imported folder from your external Harddrive.
Now you will delet the dead/broken links (Or missing music from the new drive)in iTUnes. Goto Ottos site for a script that will remove dead links and other things here

Now with everything in place and the dead links removed you will either consolidate the library or set it to copy to another Folder. If you consolidate it moves ALL your music listed in iTunes to the "iTunes Music" folder and can not be reversed. If you set it to copy, it will just copy music from its current folder to the iTunes music folder. You will have to pick the best option for you but consolidating will work best if your trying to free up space. To consolidate goto "Advanced" and select "Consolidate Library". To copy goto Edit>preferenses>Advanced tab>general sub tab and check "Copy FIles to iTunes music Folder when added to library". THis location is also where you will change the location of iTunes Music folder from your old harddrive to the new one by hitting the "Change" button above the reset button -
Whenever I click on a link, a new window pops up. That's good, that's what I wanted. They've always opened on the left side of the screen. However, they are now opening in the middle of the screen. This has happened before and the screen eventually opened completely on the right. Last time this happened, I ended up having to delete something. I don't remember what, but it solved the issue. Please help!

This spring we changed from IE to Mozilla after upgrading to Win 7. Everything has been fine with Firefox until yesterday when it crashed when I attempted to open an email. Since then the bookmarks (or favorites as my husband calls them) have not been in their usual place which was along the left side of the page. They are located in the Bookmarks bar at the top of the page but husband prefers the old IE way which we had until yesterday PM. Is there any way that we can get them back to the left side of the page other than going back to IE? Now that I have gotten used to Firefox I like it just fine.

So the left side of my iPhone isn't working at all and I even tried turning it off for 5 minutes about 10 million times but nothing is working. Any suggestions on what to do I need help like ASAP!?
Have you performed a reset? Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons and await restart.

My HP color LaserJet 3700 has begun leaving a multi-colored band along the left side of the page.
Now there is a colored band of ink on the left side of the page running from top to bottom. A local tech says the printer needs vacuuming. I am dubious. I have emptied the toner bottle already.
Mine's doing the exact same thing. It's been suggested to replace the image transfer kit but I'm dubious....that part is rated for 60k pages and I have less than 17k - ?

When ever I put my Iphone on the left side of the (Pad?) my laptop goes to sleep, sometimes does come back on until I change the position of the phone. Can anyone explain this?
Sleep function in the MBP is triggered by magnets placed in the lid.
There is an advisory from Apple against stacking portable computers to prevent this.

The top button on my phone recently stopped working. Well sometimes. Majority of the time if I click it hard enough on the left side of the button it will lock the screen... Otherwise it doesnt work at all anymore. Also the camera appears to be placing a blue pixel on pictures I take. Its annoying. What should I do?
It's completely situational. Without being able to directly compare the "scratch" on the original poster's iPhone with your iPhone, what gaamcc had happen could not be extrapolated to guess what Apple may do in your situation. It will depend entirely on what the Apple technician diagnoses after examining your iPhone. He/she may decide that any damage is strictly cosmetic and didn't have any connection with the problem you're taking your iPhone in for, or he/she may diagnose the problem as stemming from user damage. You'll just have to see when you go to the Apple Store.

My iPad keyboard (spontaneously?) divided in half with one side on the left side of the tablet, the other on the right side and an equal blank space separating them. The entire keyboard also became smaller. How can I get it back to normal?
You can also turn OFF Split Keyboard

my scrollbar has unexpected moved to the left side of the screen in stead of the right side, and I don't know how to move it back. This only occurs in Firefox.
Set the pref layout.scrollbar.side to ''2'' to place the scroll bar at the right side.
