USB ext HD not found on AEBS

750 gb OWS SATA HD in an OWS powered enclosure w/ USB 2.0. HD is formatted Extended (Journaled). Loads to desktop on both iMac and MacBook but does not show up when connected directly or thru an unpowered USB hub to the AEBS (1st Gen N). An 80 gb portable HD in an unpowered Iomega enclosure works w/ no problems when connected to the AEBS. I have tried connecting via the Go menu under Finder and the Apple Disk Utility to no avail. I am pretty sure that the OWC HD originally would connect to the AEBS w/ the OWC original enclosure but it failed. Any ideas?

Most users need to use a powered USB hub with a hard drive at the USB port of the AirPort Extreme.....even if the hard drive has its own power supply.
The Macs have high power USB ports. The Extreme does not.
Give this a try if you have not already done so.

  • Network controller& USB controller driver not found and wifi not working

hello  I Purchased HP 15-ac025TX (M9V00PA) Notebook laptop  .  i have installed all driver from HP site here is the link  http://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/7771404/model/8326084#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1  but still netwok controller driver not found also wifi not  working  i installed blutooth drivers too . I am using window 7 sp1 (32 bit) For network controller device ID is PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_804A103C&REV_01 secondly  univeral serial bus driver(usb) controller   not found i installed all drivers from above link  also update windows  but still no solution hardware id of usb controller is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9CB1@SUBSYS_80C2103C&REV_03  and last i am unable to download  AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver. the download link not working KINDLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE THANK YOU

Update: While the driver I knew would work has not shown up yet, I did some detective work and explored some other broadcom wireless card driver folders from some HP links, and I found one that should work for you. While it says it is for HP desktop PC's, they put the exact same wireless card form factor in a desktop PC that they do in a notebook PC. I see no reason why this driver would not work, since the setup information file contains the same hardware ID that you posted.  Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file and you can see the hardware ID you posted is supported by this driver.  x86 - Win7

  • USB-6009 device not found problem

    Hello all,
So my VI and USB-6009 have been working fine until recently.  I noticed the VI was not reading or graphing information from the analog input channel correctly.  My firmware is up to date, but I noticed a problem.  In Isdaq, it will recognize that the USB-6009 is connected, then when I run my VI and stop it, i check Isdaq for my device again, and it does not recognize any device.  I have to unplug the daq and replug it for Isdaq to recognize the usb-6009 again.  But each time I run my VI, it does not seem to collect any data, and it makes the device unrecognizable.  Do you know what the problem might be?  Attached is the VI I have been running in case you want to look at it.  Its been working fine until now.
btw, I am running Labview on a Mac OS X
    Thanks for the help!

    Hello Solis,
I would recommend making changes to the parallel tasks to use the error cluster to force the order of execution, since NI-DAQmx Base is not multi-thread safe (review NI-DAQmx Readme). Please verify if this alleviates the issue.

If it shows up as gray in the Disk Utility, mount or repair it.

  • Why is my external USB audio card not found after Lion install

Above says it all.  Since installing Lion my external USB audio card is not recognized.  This is a very plain vanilla card.  I worked fine with Snow Leopard.  No additional drivers required.  But with Lion, nada.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It just happened to me. Exactly as Ritcho described. After install fine, after restart, gone. FYI for anyone with the same issue as I had. I was using a Diamond USB dongle to connect my external monitor to the iMac, it was legacy from when I was running a couple of external monitors from my MacBook Pro using them. I took the dongle out of the chain and replaced with a standard Apple DVI to Mini DVI adapter and plugged it into the mini dvi port in the iMac and I was golden. Now to sell the Diamond dongles.

  • Import javafx.ext.swing.SwingToggleGroup not found in the classpath

I am trying to run the example here

    http://java.sun.com/javafx/1/tutorials/ui/layout/index.html
    but
    import javafx.ext.swing.SwingToggleGroup;
    import javafx.ext.swing.SwingRadioButton;
here i am having error because
javafx.ext is not found in my classpath, I am using Netbeans 6.5

While this shouldn't cause that error, your post is missing a final curly bracket.
Adding that, it compiles ok in Windows.

  • I can no longer print using wifi. I have to connect a USB cable to print. Setup and pref show that I should be able to print wireless but I keep getting printer not found msg when trying.

I can no longer print via wifi. I could at one time but now I have to connect to printer with USB. All settings appear correct in printer and macbook. Sys pref shows printer with green light next to idle. Sending a print prompt results in "searching for printer, printer not found, ensure printer is turned on". I have reinstalled printer in my print list and reinstalled printer software on macbook. Kodak 5250 AiO printer shows it's configured for and on wifi channel. I go online with laptop using wireless but cannot print. Help!

If you know the IP address of the printer, then you can check if there is a working path between the Mac and printer. This can be done using Network Utility or a web browser.
If you open Network Utility and select the Ping tab, you can enter the IP address of the Kodak and then press the Ping button. If there is a working connection then you should get a reply to each packet sent.
With the web browser, many devices have a built-in web server so you can type the IP address of the printer into the browser and if there is a working connection then you will open the printers web page.
So, are you able to confirm you have a working connection between the Mac and printer?

  • USB flash memory: "application not found" error

When recently trying to use a USB flash memory stick I was getting an "f:\ application not found" error. I tried all kinds of fixes from Microsoft. Turns out it was caused by Lightroom.
Since the memory stick had photos on it, my computer's Autoplay was trying to launch Lightroom. Problem is, Lightroom is listed as "Lightroom 4.0 64" in the Autoplay menu. I have Lightroom 4.4.  As far as I can tell, there's no way I can fix the incorrect "Lightroom 4.0 64" listing.  The solution is to remove Lightroom from any Autoplay options.
This is the second such problem I've had with Lightroom.  The previous problem was right clicking on a photo file and trying to use the "open with" menu.  It worked fine when I had Lightroom 4.3.  After updating to Lightroom 4.4, it didn't work. Another Lightroom user found a workaround, which was to rename the Lightroom 4.4 folder back to Lightroom 4.3.
These are both lazy Adobe oversights. You have to realize all the Windows functions that will be affected with an update and make sure they are updated as well. I spent half a day solving this latest USB flash memory error. Get your updating act together.

You don't mention your OS or which version of Outlook you're using.

You are getting a kernel panic because you are trying to boot the computer with a Tiger DVD. That model requires 10.6.3 - Snow Leopard. You can purchase replacement discs from Apple:

Yes the Mac can read that drive but you would need to Copy the data off of it to the Mac as apposed to Move, which implies Deleting them from the drive as they were transferred from the external to the Mac. Since the Mac can Not Write to NTFS drives it can't Delete anything as that is really a Write operation, IE Making changes to the NTFS formatted drive.
Once you have that Data on Both your New Mac and you Older Windows PC you can format that drive to work on both system.
If you want to and plan on doing that post back and I'll explane how, it is simple but should be done on a Windows PC.
If you only plan on using it on the Mac from now on that is fairly simple also and is done on the Mac, Once you have the files from it stored on the Mac.
Yes you could burn those photos to DVD but that is just a waste of DVDs, you don't need to.

  • External USB Storage not found Lenovo IX2

    Hello,
When I try to connect my 4TB External USB Drive to my ix2 it does not get gound. I also tried a friends 3TB Drive which does not work. When I connect a smaller 500gig drive it does get found.
It looks like large external USB drives are not accepted. Is there a solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Rigel

    Hi rigelpaulin,
This device cannot read external drives over 2TB. You will have to limit the partitions on the drive to 2TB or less.

  • Record drive/partition "500G Ext HD Western Digital" not found!

    I don't know why I'm getting this message when I open any songs I've recorded in Logic Express. It just started doing this today. Here is the message:{Record drive/partition “500G Ext HD Western Digital” not found!}
I do not get this message when I open and work on songs I've recorded in Garageband.
The 500G Ext HD is my external hard drive.
Does anyone know what this means and how I can resolve it and get back to recording music??

Does the disk appear OK on your desktop?
When exactly do you get this message? When you double-click on a Logic file on your external drive? Or when you start a new project? Is your record path set properly in Logic?
First, as you may be nearing a hard disk problem, make sure that all essential files are backed up properly.
Then, open up your Disk Utility and run 'Verify Disk' and 'Repair permissions' on your external drive. If you have a copy of Disk warrior, even better.
