USB Graphics Adapter

I'm trying to hook up 2 Samsung 19" monitors to my Dell Inspiron 1541 laptop. I bought 2 HP USB Graphics Adapters to act as an interface and there is a USB driver conflict between my Dell and the HP USB Graphic Adapters. Additionally, I'm currently using a small 4 port hub for some of my other perpherials so there might be an additional issue there.
I sure would like to resolve these conflicts so I can use 2 monitors for my online learners. At any one time I have 9-11 apps open on my laptop.

Hello Cliff,
Have you looked into the Device Manager to see if there are any error codes with any of the USB devices installed?
If so, you can Google that error to see what it means. There might be a driver taking higher priority over the others thus causing the issue. Example: from a virtual machine, etc.
You can also try a free tool called DriverView to diagnose these types of issues.

Also, it wouldnt hurt to uninstall any and all unused/hidden USB drivers from the device manager. Any hidden driver needed in the future will just get reinstalled the next time that device is connected.
If you need info on how to do that, let me know. That is one thing I CAN help with.

What USB graphics adapter do you recommend for Lion?

The Apple geniuses told me Kensington Universal Graphics Adapter. It doesn't work, even after searching forever for and downloading the Lion drivers. (Though there is a possibility that it is actually defective. It isn't lighting up when hooked up which I would think it would do even if the computer is not seeing it.)
There are several out there that are Mac compatable but not necessarily compatable with Lion.
I would like to run my MBP in clamshell with 2 external monitors.
I have actually ordered this one: PLUGABLE UGA 125 (displaylink DL-125 chipset) but I don't know for sure that it will work as it doesn't say Lion compatable. Display Link has a Lion driver so I am thinking it might.
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I found one that works. It is the plugable UGA 125 that I mentioned above. You will have to download the Display Link Lion drivers. It is also only good for resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 so if you have a monitor with finer resolution as I do then you will not have the best look. Fortuntaley I only need it for email, web, etc. while I am running PS and Lightroom on my Dell monitor...so..it works. It only took 6 weeks.

USB video adapter

I have a MBpro running the latest OSx 10.8.2. I am wondering any anyone can recommend a stable USB video Adapter. I have recently tried using display link and other such devices however when Mac OS updates the drivers seem to lag on there compatibility and never the less my system crashes. I have recently switched to a matrox dualhead2go ME which works great however when viewing apps at full screen mode it falls to recognize that I am using 2 screen and see my Mac as one giant screen. I am trying to see if anyone out there has found and been able to use a USB graphics card with success and no buggy issues on Mac 10.8.2. my setup is this.
MacBook Pro i7
to monitors. one connected to display port and the other I am hoping to connect a USB video adapter. Thanks in advance for your help.

In summary, even with multiple screens, only one full screen app can be utilized as once. I also recommend giving feedback to Apple.

HP Stream 7/8: Discussion - Adapters for attaching external screen (USB-graphics)?

Hi all I own a HP Stream 7 and 8 tablet. I am looking for ways to use the micro USB port to attach an external screen by wire instead of using Miracast. My current OTG adapter (Delock OTG Connection Kit 5 in 1 with HDMI) does not work, most probably because the Stream tablets don't seem to support the MHL protocol (the specs for the Stream models on NDTV state this clearly -while the specs Stream 8 5801 / Stream 8 5901 at HP don't specify it. But the specs from NDTV are not completely accurate (e.g. the Stream 8 has 3G support, but ndtv.com says it doesn't). The alternative is to use USB-graphics devices, often also combining the possibility to use the USB connection (data) AND charge the unit at the same time. The Stream tablets have only USB 2.0 so HD video may not be satisfactory on the external screen. The Dell OTG Cable does allow you to connect a usb device but does NOT allow you to charge at the same time. Boot Camp & Windows 7 -- "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" (This is wrong.)

I am hoping I can find some help here, I have purged the internet looking for a solution, all to no avail.
Heres the situation:
I have a 15" mac book pro unibody.
500 gb hdd
4 gb ram
9600m gt graphics
Anyways, I decided to install windows 7 on a partition I made using boot camp, hoping to play the new Dragon Age: Origins game.
Everything went well with the install, except for the graphics card.
When I open the device manager, this is what it says:

Clearly wrong, clearly does not work with Dragon Age:

So I don't know what to do, here's what I HAVE done.
--I tried going to the nVidia website and downloading the latest driver for my graphics card, only to have it say this when I try to run it:

--I tried going into Device Manage, right clicking Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, clicking properties->update drive->browse my computer->let me pick->picking my latest nVidia folder->picking 9600m gt from the list-> next. This looks like it starts to install, but then tells me that the control panel was not able to install successfully, so its REVERTING to the last working driver, uninstalling and restarting as I scream "Nooooooo!!".
--I tried changing the nvam.inf file, editing the device key value of the graphics I retrieved from running dxdiag, however when I ran dxdiag, it was the same device key as the one already in the nvam.inf file, so that changed nothing.
--Lastly (i just remembered this, I did this first), I tried downloading the latest BootCamp version (2.1 or something?), and this changed nothing as well.
I am severely exhausted and stressed from trying to get this to work, and I am in DIRE need of help, since one of the only reasons I put windows 7 on this was to play video games!!! Please dont let it be all for nothing haha.

Boot Camp in Snow Leopard does not yet "officially" support Windows 7, but such support has been promised "before the end of the year." See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3920
Presumably the updated Boot Camp will support drivers not currently available, such as the appropriate video drivers. The end of the year looms and there is as yet no word about better support for Windows 7. Lets hope there are new drivers, as there are many others in your situation, although plenty of other people report they are using Windows 7 and Boot Camp. I prefer to wait for the official release by Apple.

No, its not possible because the graphic card is a little small chip which was fixed on the mainboard. The graphic card design is not the same like on the PC desktop.

USB wifi adapter can only handle one request or socket at a time

I have a usb wifi adapter that I bought recently. The strange thing is that if I'm doing only one thing that is using the network (e.g. downloading a file) it works good and fast. But say I'm downloading a file and I do ANYTHING else that uses the network (e.g. just opening a browser at google.ca), the download comes to a stop. Then if I close the browser, the download starts up again a couple seconds later, good and fast.
Another example is, say I'm in a Google Hangouts (video chat) session. As long as that is the only thing I have running, the chat works fine. If I open a second browser window, then the chat gets super choppy and pretty much un-usable until I close the second window.
So basically it seems like I can have only one open socket at a time, or else it can handle only one request at a time. Also, most webpages open very slowly as a result because the browser only seems to be able to download one static file at a time (e.g. js and css files needed by the page).
I'm sure it's a problem with the usb wifi adapter because I didn't have these problems when I was on a wired connection, and I have other devices using wifi (e.g. laptops and tablets) that don't have this problem either.
Rather than paste a bunch of output from commands, please kindly tell me what to run in order to gather any useful info.

I was exploring the CD that came with the device. Turns out there are Linux drivers on it. I didn't install any drivers, as wicd detected it automatically. I'm wondering if changing drivers might help. Can someone help me interpret the installation instructions?

Your Computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter??

I treated my self to a new Macbook Pro with the AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1GB graphics cards..
Now that I've got everything up and running just dandy I Bootcamped Windows 7 (64 bit) on it to see how it would handle some gaming, I tried installing the latest graphics drivers from AMD and am presented with this error message :
"Your Computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter."
Is this normal?? Has Apple restricted the installations of drivers on the MBP or have I got a problem?

Hi folks! I was scouring the web for some answers and got pulled to this thread. I've got a mid-2011 iMac 27", i7 with the 2gb HD 6970M (bootcamping Win7, 64-bit) and I also get that same error as OrphanGymnast when attempting to play the Battlefield 3 Beta. Whenever I try to join a server it says my Catalyst version is out of date and that I need to upgrade, in turn it only references the generic AMD url. However, the game still manages to play, but I'm not sure if I'm getting the proper performance I should be getting with the latest driver. Anyway I tried AMD's auto detector and nothing...same message shown above in the OP. Now I find myself here.
I'm not that hardcore about pc gaming so messing around with drivers and such is pretty new to me. From what I gather the reason for getting, the "Your Computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter." is because mobile/laptop GPU's have to rely on their manufacturers (Apple, in our case) to roll out their specific driver updates and not AMD. I used the following links, but encountered a few problems.

When I tried to uninstall the current ATi catalyst it was not showing up in "Programs and Features". I figured I could then just run the CCC and saw there was an uninstall option through there. CCC ran the uninstall, but the progress bar got hung up about 99% of the way through and after about a half hour in that state, I decided to End Task. By now, my display is all out of wack since it deleted the original driver. I rebooted and proceeded to install the 11.9 catalyst and that too got hung up about halfway through for a while...had to End Task again. Rebooted and display was still jacked up so I just threw back in my Bootcamp Support Disc and repaired drivers...now all things back to normal (display driver v8.812).
So now that I'm back at square one, would anyone that successfully updated their mobile GPU care to tell me where I messed up? I would greatly appreciate it. I apologize for the long read, but I wanted to be as clear as possible.

Ipod shuffle 2nd gen does not charge on new 5W USB power adapter

my perfectly functional ipod shuffle 2nd gen with original dock will not charge with the new Continental Europe 5W USB power adapter, even though the specs of the power adapter include the 2nd generation shuffle. Shuffle will blink orange three times, longer than normal blinking, and then do nothing. probably nothing I can do about it, but worth a note. The US model of the new 5W adapter does not include the 2nd gen shuffle, so maybe it is an error on the apple specs page.
Maybe the 2nd gen needs more than 5W to charge?

New iPod touch 5th generation charger won't work with computers or USB power adapter?

I just got this charger less than two weeks ago and just yesterday it started saying "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work on this iPod." It will only work on some occasions, but most of the time it won't. Other times it will show that it is charging, but when I select to "Trust" my computer it stops charging. When I plug it into the USB power adapter, it rarely works (even when I try it in different outlets.) Any way to solve this issue?

I've got an iPod Nano and a USB Power Adapter to charge it. Untill a few days ago it went fine, even with my Universal Dock between them. But since 2 days my iPod only charges when I put the Power adapter direcly into the wall plug, but with my Hi-Fi installation I'll have to use it with a multiple socket.
Does anybody know why and how to get round this?

Travel Adapter and iPod USB Power Adapter

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question but this is all new to me so please bear with me I just bought an iPod video, a World Travel Adapter kit and the Power Duo kit - which contains a power block wall charger, USB mini cable, and car charger. I was looking at the plugs in the travel kit and do not see how they work. The product data says that it works with the USB power adapter - which at this point I am assuming is different than the power block wall charger? Can someone verify this for me? Also, can someone then tell me how these travel adapters plug into the USB power adapter (or power block wall charger) so that they can be used when traveling overseas. I can't tell from the photo of the USB adapter how this would be done...I don't want to buy yet another power adapter if I don't need one, but I sure can't see how they work with what I have so far or how they would work with the USB power adapter..I would have thought that the travel kit would have some with everything that I need but apparently it doesn't.

Now I have hooked it up to a PC without itunes on it. The ipods says it is charging but when you disconnect you can see that the battery level is even lower. Does this mean that I should just take back the ipod to exchange it for a working one?
