USB Latency on MSI GT 735.

Hi,
I have a MSI GT 735 006 with a Traktor Scratch Pro (Native Instruments) with an external sound card and vinyls to control the tracks.
I have problems when playing it plays :
blanks
crackles
jumps
etc...
Native Instruments Hotline told me to check my USB ports latency, here is the result when doing nothing on the notebook :
http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=583340DPC.jpg
When doing nothing I have more latency then friends with oldschool notebooks in full use!!!
Catastrophic!!!
I looked to the other topics but found no solution working...
Indeed all drivers are up to date, bios is up to date, I have no virus/spyware, almost everything is desactivated in msconfig, etc...
My graphic let the Native Instruments Hotliner with no voice...
If someone can help it would be very welcome.
Thanks a lot.

I mean in full use with Traktor Scratch Pro and my sound card installed... So my Traktor Scratch Pro is working fine as long as I don't use it on my notebook. (Bad Luck for a DJ).
To be sure I sent it to be repaired as it is under warranty, the complete package Traktor Scratch Pro just comes back from Native Instruments after-sales service and everything is fine.
So at least, I know the problem comes from the computer...

  • Problem with my USB port in MSI MS-6534

    Hello everybody.
I bought an external hard drive and when I connected it to the USB port appear a message that I don't have any port of high velocity and I need to install a controller or high velocity. I don't understant to much about that, but I bought my computer in 2001, and I thought I had USB 2.0 ports. My technical data are:
    name of motherboard: MSI MS-6534
    chipset: i845
BIOS: Award Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG , DATE OF BIOS : 09/28/01
I don't know if it is neccesary to update the drivers, or maybe the BIOS , I download the drivers that appear in the page of MS-6534, but i don't want to intall nothing because I am no sure. Please someone can tell me if I must install these drivers of some BIOS update?, of maybe my motherboard don't support USB 2.0 .and do you know if is  necessary to install the windows xp servipack 2?
    thank you in advance

yes, you need SP2. Make sure you fully install Intel INF driver.

  • BUG with Memory CAS-Latency with MSI i848P Neo-LS BIOS

I have a bug with MSI i848P Neo-LS BIOS. I try many MSI i848P with same trouble : the CAS Latency is always set to 2.0 even if the memory is CAS Latency 2.5.
It doesn't depend on PSU or others things (graphics card,...).
    Try with Pentium 4C 2.6 or 2.8
But I have just one brand of memory (but many different sticks). Chips reference are VT56DD32M8PC-5 (256 or 512 Mb). This memory are reference as Cas Latency 2.5
If I set memory timings on SPD or manual : same result !!!
If I set memory speed on AUTO or 400 MHz : same result  !!!
If I set other timings, then they are save correctly (ie : RAS# precharge set to 3 or 4).
    I check timings with latest version of Memtest86+ V1.0 : http://www.memtest.org/
and of course, I get many errors.
The same memory tested on others mobo, give good results.
I try Windows XP installation and I get....  blue screens.
With some memory sticks : I have this message "memory timing too tighly",
if I press F1 to continue: then I get a memory cas latency of 2.5 with memtest86+ and then no error.
I try BIOS revision 1.0 (default) and 1.2: same result !!!
So, as I said before, I think this is a bug with the BIOS. I agree that a BIOS cannot detect correctly all kind of memory, but if you set memory timings manualy, then it must be set as you want ! ?
    Any idea...
    Thanks

    H0 Alex,
You are correct.I have the same problem with my 875p neo lsr on bios 1.9. TH0S 0S B0OS BUG.but everyone says your psu is not enough or your rams isnt  on the MSI Memory Compatability List.
why all of rams I try give same result?
MS0 boards works only with 10 or 20 ram.you don't say customer why you use this rams?
why in asus boards many os these rams working properly. This rams isnt on the MSI Memory Compatability List.but working.I try many no name rams and results are very good in all of the tests.
In my opinion MS0 bioses doesnt work good enough.

  • USB latency problem

    Hi,
I am writing a libusb application to control a servo via a USB PhidgetServo i/f card, but I am troubled by a latency of the order of 100 mSec in the response of the servo. The servo itself is very fast so the delay must be due to the USB subsystem or perhaps the PhidgetServo card. From tests I have made the delay seems fixed around ~100 mS (the rate at which I send positional requests to the servo can be between 7-60 / sec) but no requests are dropped.
It seems that there is a variable length buffer somewhere that stores positional requests (via the usb_control_msg() function) such that a delay of ~100 mS is assured. I cannot figure out where this latency is occurring and unfortunately its making the control loop unstable and inaccurate. I would very much welcome any help on this subject.
    My thanks in advance!

Of course, it happens to the best of us. There is a
playhead error when the sound is travelling through
the computer. Just hit the play button and play your
guitar while the song you are in is playing. Do that
for a little while, then hit stop and you should be
good. Do this same procedure a few times if your
    sound is still delayed.
Thanks for the input. As strange as this sounds I think it might work. The latency problem does remeind of some issues I had years ago with some reel to reel multitrack recording equipment I had. The playhead would get out of alignment and needed to be adjusted now and then. Never thought of Garage Band as having a playhead, I'll try this out this weekend and see if it works.

  • Satellite A500-1DU - USB latency issue

    Hi all.
I have problems with the latency of my USB. No matter what I plug in audio interface. It always comes back dropouts.
    Please help

What to say windows OS uses the own Microsoft USB drivers there are no other drivers for update
To be honest, I have no experience with any USB audio interfaces but as mentioned by Paolo, the USB ports are standard common USB ports which are available on notebooks and I think the issue might be related to the audio interfaces which you are using
Should get in contact with the manufacturer of such audio parts and should ask for details and how to avoid this.

  • Problems with wireless usb adapter on MSI K8NGM-V

    Hi!
I have a 3Com (3crusb20075) wireless usb adapter, and a MSI K8NGM-V Mainboard. Very often the usb disconnects from the network and i have to reinsert it to work again. A friend of mine have the exact same adapter and that one fails too. He uses mine without problems. I therefore belive that this is a problem with the usb ports on my mainboard. Have anyone heard of anything like this? I wanted to try to update my bios but i don't have a floppy so msi live update wouldnt let me, and i could find the bios files on the msi webpage so i cant burn them on a bootable cd. Help please
(I trying turning of power save mode on the usb adapter, without any luck. Tested it in linux. Same result)
    Alex

The ability to access the network, but not the Internet, typically indicates that the computer is not able to either find or negotiate with the DNS servers. The proper DNS servers would be provided by your ISP using DHCP. In turn, the AirPort would use DHCP to provide these to both the wired & wireless computers connected to it.
    Please try the following:
For each PC that is unable to access the Internet, temporarily include the following OpenDNS servers:
    o Primary: 208.67.222.222
    o Secondary: 208.67.220.220
You would enter these in the network TCP/IP settings for the respective PC's wireless network adapters. You may need to restart the computer in order for these DNS settings to "stick." After restarting, can you access the Internet with either or both of them?

  • No USB power from MSI X99S Plus and no Vision from GPU.

    Dear Forum,
I have build a new PC with a MSI x99S plus motherboard but when I start it up the fans start turning but I get no vision and even weirder there is no power coming out of the usb ports. I have checked every connection, I disconnected everything that was not nessesary and even tried to start up without harddrives connected. Still only the fans start turning and some leds light up but no vision and still no power to the USB ports
I have used the following components:
    MSI x99S plus motherboard
MSI 3G gaming GTX 780 GPU
    Seasonic G650 PSU (650 watt)
Corsair Venguance LPX DDR4 4GBx4 ram
Corsair H105 Hydro Series CPU cooler
    Intel I7-5820K CPU
128 GB samsung SSD (for booting)
    2 TB WD Hard drive
    WD DVD Drive
Ill hope someone regonises the problem.
Also this is the first forum topic I have ever started so if I am doing something wrong please give some tips!

No I had not tried to boot it with one memory stick and well it starts up now! Many Thanks! Do you have any idea what would cause the PC not to boot with 4 ram sticks in them? What I am gonna do now is boot it with one memory stick more at the time too see if one is broken.
    Many thanks!!
    I am happy now
    can be many things:
     * defective memory stick
     * defective memory slot
     * incorrect memory parameters: too high memory freq., too tight timings, too low voltage, too tight command rate to handle 4 large memory stick
     * not fully compatible memory sticks with current BIOS version
     * could be bent-ed pins(s) on the CPU/mobo

  • DPC Latency Spikes + MSI P55-GD55 + i5-750 + Clipping in playback & record

I'm getting spikes in DPC Latency causing clipping sounds for playback and record using the on-board Realtek.  I have all the latest drivers/bios from nvidia, msi, etc.
    System:
    Windows 7 x64
MSI P55-GD65 @ BIOS 1.3 (Turned off EIST in BIOS, helped but spikes remain)
    Intel i5-750
    OCZ DDR3 4GB @ 7-7-7-21 1.65v
    Nvidia GT220
Have other users mention anything about latency issues with this model?  Maybe a BIOS update like this thread can fix it?
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=129152.0
Please, I hope it's a BIOS issue cause I'm lost as to what the problem could be.  I tried disable everything (sound/network) on the board and still latency spikes.

So MSI support gave me a new beta bios to test out v1.4B5, and the spikes are less frequent but still happens.
I can try disabling some services but not sure where to even start.  It does look like a BIOS update might be the actual solution so I'm hoping support can eventually help me out.

  • High latency with MSI 790XT-G45 under W7

I have decided myself to go for W7 one one of my rigs.I ve got some genuine disks of 32 and 64 and loaded W7 for testing purposes .
As my intention is to use the 790XT-G45 (considering it more W7 suited than my Platinum beeing newer more CPU support) tryed both W7 versions , but there is a problem.
Using the DPC high latency tool i get like 100 us under any W7 version with this 790XT-G45.The same board is ok latency wise under XP ,it hovers around 10-20 us when you re not doing anything serious with it .I have to remind that on this board i ve also had some issues with the big mouse cursor thing that seems to be related to motherboard latencyes.
In the past i ve used the K9A2 Platinum with W7 64 RC with the same video card and sound card that i use now on the 790XT-G45 ,but the latency was always 10-20 us.In fact trying again the Platinum gives me under W7 like 10-20 us.
I ve  tryed disableing onboards ,removing the Creative and updating to latest BIOS version but no joy.The latency also adds some drag to the system i mean W7 windows don t look to snappy like it feels on Platinum.
So is this board compatible to W7 for real ?
What is so different between the 2 boards ,does the 790X have bigger latencyes than the 790 FX from the Platinum. One of the issues is that even if i would choose the Platinum  CPU upgrade path closes.
I repeat i ve tested both boards with default W7 drivers and with vendors drivers and same thing.
Any user with 790XT-G45 encountering this under W7 ?
At first glance it s not a very big issue ,but i m very sure this 100 us get s me while playing to more and i really hate input lag and static on my sound.
    Any ideas ?

    Hi Guys,
I agree with Sm3K3R that a 70+ microsecond increase in average DPC latency will have an undesirable affect on some apps (games, real-time streaming, etc.). I also believe that what is good for XP will almost certainly not be good for Windows 7. Too much of the architecture has changed. Better drivers may help going forward. To me, the bigger question is why this mobo takes so much longer to run these routines than the K9A2.
I do not have any serious problems with the apps I run. Some of them may run better with a shorter average DPC latency. I have no way to tell with what I currently have to work with. Other bottlenecks may be in play. I was just responding to Sm3K3R's request for feedback. My power option is set to high performance and my base configuration has 41 processes running, including Diskeeper real-time defragmenter, Avira Antivirus, Logitech SetPoint, Process Lasso's process governor, PeerBlocker, and TaskDock. It also includes the Microsoft search functions and the sidebar with 2 gadgets running. Most of these processes run as services. I thought it was the search, sidebar, or one or more of the non-Microsoft products causing my base 100+ average latency indicated by the DPC high latency tool, so I ran LatencyMon to find out.
I ran it several times for 2 to 5 minutes at a time, starting when the system was idle. The Nvidia display and NT Kernel & System drivers always topped the list, with latencies from 50 to 114 microseconds. The display driver's routine also ran much more often than any thing else, followed, about 60% less often, by the NT Kernel & System driver. Thus these 2 drivers contribute the most to my average DPC latency. The other products listed above most often had 0 or less than 15 microsecond DPC latencies. Once I saw this, I did not bother to check my game configuration which does not have the search, sidebar, and the non-Microsoft products listed above in it.
During a Google search of this issue, I read that someone reduced their average Windows 7 DPC latency by 50 microseconds by turning off the HPET timer. I tried this and it did not work for me.
Looking forward to the results of Sm3K3R's further testing and feedback from others.

  • USB latency? (messed up USB)

Ok... this is a weird one. Anything USB related on my emac gets super slow over a period of time. The only way to "reset the clock", so to speak, is to restart the computer. The slowing down seems roughly linear, the longer my computer goes without a restart, the slower it takes for a thumb drive to mount, for my scanner to scan, etc. It's not any one thing, I've tried all the usb things I have. This is really inconveinient because every time I want to leave the house and throw something on my usb drive, I have to stop and restart the computer. I'm out of ideas. I've rebooted, upgraded to Tiger, done all the updates, and repaired permissions. Help!!!!

John, welcome to the discussions, 2 things that might help.
1st always periodicllly check with your periperials Manufactures sites to make sure you have the latest updates to them for Tiger.
2nd Otentimes after extended use over a period of time there can be a buill-up of garbage that can acumulate on your hard drive and slow things down. Tiger is suppose to empty all these little bugers automaticly, but I still prefer to run these 3 Free Utilitys in the order I give them to you and this way I know that I am clean and green, I run them once a week need to or not and never have any issues at all with any of my periperials.
