USB/ missing mp3 player

I have had an iriver H10 for a while and just got a macbook. I read that i can use the i river as a potrable storage devicebut i cant find where to open it once it's plugged in the mac. all its information shows up in the system profiler but how can i access the files?

Try look in Disk Utility and see if its shows there. Chances are your i-river is window formatted and may limit its use on a mac.

That doesn't matter if the kernel reports device problems

  • Usb not seeing mp3 player? brand new s10!

brand new s10, all ok  but neither usb port  seeing mp3 player.(sandisk clip) mp3 used on other computers, no problem.

USB port does not see MP3 player. I looked at "support & downloads". Nothing there about USB's.
This is crazy, I have never had to download drivers for a NEW computer to make the USB's work.

  • MP3 player and USB

I just purchased a ZipLinq . USB cable to use with my MuVo Slim, but it will not work. I'm fairly certain the Slim is backward-compatible with USB ., so I don't understand why. Trying to determine if the cable itself is faulty. I can use the Slim just fine with my larger MacCalley adapter, which has a wider cable, and of course with the cable that it came with.
Has anyone successfully used your MP3 player with a compact, retractable USB . cable?

If the cable is cited as USB it might not be good enough quality (really the whole USB or 2 thing for cables is just a quality issue).

  • Msi usb mp3 player i/o error

i recently connected my megastick usb mp3 player and windows diaplyed a window that says: the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error. Now i can not store files to my usb mp3 player. How do i fix this problem???

An I / O error often indicates a read/write problem to the device, oftern ocours more on Harddisk dri'ves. Upgrading the firmware to the player should sort this out, otherwise there may be someting else wrong with the player. For example the player cannot read/write to a specific cluster on the harddisk. But as the player is PSS (i think), (Portable Solid State) then this is a bit odd, but could possibly be the same problem as above , not read/writeing to a specifc sector/cluster of the memory.

  • MP3 Player FX120/ Usb erro

    I just bought MP3 Player FX20 today.
problem is: when I connect the usb dri've to the mp3 player - there's no response. I don't even see the 'Removeable Disk' icon inside the My Computer. What should I do? Do I have to upgrade my usb port? (I think it's upgraded since I have service pack 2 - windows xp)

    WildDri've,
You may have to manually map the dri've letter to the player. Check this Knowledgebase article.

  • Suggestion for creative's next MP3 Player, connection for USB Flash Driv

I would to see a connection for USB flash dri'ves to be added to the next mp3 player Creative makes. This way we don't have to rely solely on expensi've and limited in memory SD Cards.

I'm a bit confused as well, flash dri'ves are all more expensi've than the SDHC cards I have of the same size, and a whole heck of a lot more bulky and oddly shaped. I can't see myself strolling around with a ZEN with a plastic knob sticking out of the side, but that's just my opinion.
I like SD cards, they are slim, extremely light weight and easy to carry (mobility is pretty much the entire point of a portable player). It makes it really easy to purchase a few SD cards and use them like interchangeable disks. They are also pretty cheap and rapidly getting cheaper.

  • Abstract out MP3 *player* functionaltiy from USB drive stor

Has any company thought about "abstracting out" the MP3 / WMA / WAV / other-format player functionality from the USB dri've storage?
Considering the proliferation of USB memory dri'ves, I think this a good idea.
So, what I envision is a little mobile MP3 "shell player" device which is simply an MP3 (or other format) decoder chip and D/A decoder, audio amplifier and a headphone jack, perhaps with a rechargeable battery. It would have a female USB jack, and would accept any type of USB memory stick. That way, you can just swap USB memory sticks .. and this hypothetical MP3 "shell player" would detect playable files on the plug-and-play memory stick and organize them for mobile play.
So who will be the first to offer such a device?

You should look for a support site for the MP3 player to see what format it uses and what the proper restoration procedure is-either that or contact the company directly.

  • Playing my ipod through my boombox MP3 player usb port

my boombox has a usb port and apparently the ipod can be attached to play through it. I could buy some speakers but it would be better to use the MP3 player i already have. But although the ipod plays through the earphones, it won't play or recognise my ipod tracks when attached to the boombox although for some quirky reason it did for a while play just one album. Can anyone help me? I've been going crazy reading instuctions & now feel very frustrated with it

Contact the manufacturer of the motocycle system.  Many systems are not compatible with iOS devices but work fine for the simple iPods.

  • MP3 player USB to S/PDIF conver

I have acquired quite a few Creative MP3 players and sound cards over the years. One thing I really like about Creative MP3 players is the MP3 tracks are not wrapped. Why is this good? One reason I can give is that we are starting to see a lot of "USB Direct"? audio products. These allow simple plug/play of your plain USB mass storage devices or MP3 player flash dri'ves *provided* the tracks are MP3 tracks.A simple example .. this Philips AZ836 micro-boombox:?http://www.consumer.phili<br />
<br...questid=288824?The USB port works perfectly with every Creative MP3 player I've tried (MuVu TX, V00, N200 etc..).Some more recent DVD players also provide this "USB Direct" port. However, what I'd also like to do is connect my MP3 player to an amplifier that has a S/PDIF inputs (either digital coaxial or optical). Obviously I can connect the headphone output of the MP3 player to any line-in on the amplifier but I want to do it digitally from the MP3 player so .. Question:? Are there any portable? "digital converter" devices designed to convert USB data from MP3 flash players to S/PDIF digital or optical streams??

Thinking about this a bit more ... this is a bit more complicated. A "USB Direct" device is a USB host. So for this to really make sense, the "converter" would need to read the USB dri've, and allow the user to select a recognizable audio track (MP3 or WMA) and then play it out to the S/PDIF output of the converter ... So maybe what I really should have asked is:?Question2:? Are there any *portable* MP3 players (or for that matter portable CD-Audio/MP3 CD players) that provide an SPDIF output capability??

Take it in for a service diagnostic so you can determine if it's worth fixing or if you should buy a new one.

Are you sure the ports are USB.0 not USB. The player should work fine on USB. ports.
The page for the V200 (virtually the same) shows that USB. ports are needed.
The manual for the TX (same as TX SE but different package contents) says USB. or USB2.0.
And all this info came from looking around the website...
