  • Msi usb mp3 player i/o error

i recently connected my megastick usb mp3 player and windows diaplyed a window that says: the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error. Now i can not store files to my usb mp3 player. How do i fix this problem???

An I / O error often indicates a read/write problem to the device, oftern ocours more on Harddisk dri'ves. Upgrading the firmware to the player should sort this out, otherwise there may be someting else wrong with the player. For example the player cannot read/write to a specific cluster on the harddisk. But as the player is PSS (i think), (Portable Solid State) then this is a bit odd, but could possibly be the same problem as above , not read/writeing to a specifc sector/cluster of the memory.

  • How do I make bootable USB mp3 player/flash disk?

    hi
i have a big problem. less than a month ago i have backed up my computer using the latest version of Norton ghost v10.0. i then burned the data on to a DVD and i kept it safe. today i encountered a problem i could not cess the internet on my laptop, nor uninstall/install a program, nor get access to help and support. therefore i got the backup DVD inserted it into the DVD drive i opened Norton ghost clicked recovery and then clicked recover my computer. i told it where to look for the backup and then started restore but i then ran into an error message which says the below:
cannot complete the restore of recovery point d:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i
-Error EC8F178F: Cannot complete the restore of recovery point: D:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i.
--Error EC8F03F1: Cannot open recovery point 'D:\Toshiba ghost image001.v2i'.
---Error EBAB03E9: Internal Application Error: Memory Access Violation c0000005: Application tried to read memory at 034bac3c.
i have another way of restoring the data this is by making a mp3 player or flash disk boot the computer but on the flash disk there will be the operating system. is there any way to make the flash disk bootable.
i would like to know this because if it boots up from the flash disk or mp3 i can then delete the contents on the HDD and restore the data.
and also when trying to restore it says a file or program is using the file its trying to restore.
    can somebody help,
    regards

    Hello Samee
The best way to boot the unit in DOS mode is to use external floppy drive. This drive is not expensive and if your data are so important you can invest a few euros to buy it. Using start disk you will be able to boot into DOS mode and do what you want to do.
I also recommend you to contact Norton and see if they have some simply solution how to install created image.
With mp3 player you will not be able to boot up.

  • USB MP3 Player (MPman f50)

    Hi all,
I've downloaded a program to upload MP3's to my MpMan f50, called mplinuxman.
However, when I start it up, it says it can't find my USB mpman. Do I have to do something special to get USB working on my system?
This is what dmesg gives my about USB:
    [root@evelien bin]# dmesg | grep -i usb

    usbcore: registered new driver hub

Aha, I was using 2.6.9 and the USB module wasn't loaded.
Now for another problem, my USB device does not show up in /dev. Altough it's not a problem, I can access my mp3 mplayer fine with mplinuxman, but only as root.

  • Using plain old mp3 player with iTunes on Mac

    Hi all,
I want to use a plain, old USB MP3 player (mass storage-type) with iTunes on my Mac (OS X 10.4.x). I asked this question over on the Windows iTunes forum at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1264196&tstart=0
and wondered if there's anything that'll work on the Mac.
In Windows, I basically have resorted to drag-n-drop from the iTunes window to a Windows Explorer window showing the USB MP3 player as a removable drive, or to using iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net), which is a Windows-only solution.
What's the solution on Mac OS X?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

I think a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous. If you're able to get music onto the player in Windows via drag and drop, I see no reason why that won't work on the Mac as well, provided that your Mac can recognize the drive. I would imagine it can, as I've never come across a PC formatted drive that my Mac didn't recognize.
There is also a freeware application called XNJB that apparently works as an interface between a Mac and a Creative MP3 player. I haven't used either, so can't vouch for them at all.
Just that like I said, a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous.

  • [Solved] Automount Generic MP3 Player with UTF-8 encoding

    Hello, everybody!
    Ubuntu refugee here.
So far I'm going fine with Arch, I just have a couple of problems related to my Generic USB Mp3 player:
    1) I want HAL to mount the player with UTF-8 encoding. Right now, it shows Arabic characters as ??????.
    2) In Ubuntu, it used to recognize the player as an MP3 player, give it a nice icon, and add it as a music source in Rhythmbox. In Arch, on the other hand, the player is mounted as a generic USB flash drive. How can I make Arch recognize it as an MP3 player?
    Thanks in advance.

    GOT IT WORKING!! Yay!
I got the solution from here:
    http://blog.pcode.nl/2006/08/24/introdu … io-player/
The trick is to make HAL identify your Digital Audio Player (DAP) by adding a rule to /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music-players.fdi  --  and since, in my case, Ubuntu already had a 10-usb-music-players.fdi file that recognized my player, all I had to do was boot up from an Ubuntu live cd and copy Ubuntu's 10-usb-music-players.fdi over Arch's.
Now my issues with Arch are down to only one: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=360647
    Thanks everybody.

not enough space on my mp3 player but it is empty hi
I have Muvo 2.0. usb mp3 player. It has 265 mb.the problem is that there is not enough space on my mp3 player but THERE IS 265 MB FREE SPACE.
I have tried use recovery tool but is still not working.can you help me ,please?

Are you attempting to copy a lot of .mp3 files into the Root Folder?
There is a limit's to the number of files in one folder the MuVo can 'see'.
Just create a few new folders by Album, Artist, Genre or whatever you like and copy the appropriate songs to each folder.

  • Usb not seeing mp3 player? brand new s10!

brand new s10, all ok  but neither usb port  seeing mp3 player.(sandisk clip) mp3 used on other computers, no problem.

USB port does not see MP3 player. I looked at "support & downloads". Nothing there about USB's.
This is crazy, I have never had to download drivers for a NEW computer to make the USB's work.

  • MP3 player and USB

I just purchased a ZipLinq . USB cable to use with my MuVo Slim, but it will not work. I'm fairly certain the Slim is backward-compatible with USB ., so I don't understand why. Trying to determine if the cable itself is faulty. I can use the Slim just fine with my larger MacCalley adapter, which has a wider cable, and of course with the cable that it came with.
Has anyone successfully used your MP3 player with a compact, retractable USB . cable?

If the cable is cited as USB it might not be good enough quality (really the whole USB or 2 thing for cables is just a quality issue).

You may have to manually map the dri've letter to the player. Check this Knowledgebase article.

  • Suggestion for creative's next MP3 Player, connection for USB Flash Driv

I would to see a connection for USB flash dri'ves to be added to the next mp3 player Creative makes. This way we don't have to rely solely on expensi've and limited in memory SD Cards.

I'm a bit confused as well, flash dri'ves are all more expensi've than the SDHC cards I have of the same size, and a whole heck of a lot more bulky and oddly shaped. I can't see myself strolling around with a ZEN with a plastic knob sticking out of the side, but that's just my opinion.
I like SD cards, they are slim, extremely light weight and easy to carry (mobility is pretty much the entire point of a portable player). It makes it really easy to purchase a few SD cards and use them like interchangeable disks. They are also pretty cheap and rapidly getting cheaper.

  • Abstract out MP3 *player* functionaltiy from USB drive stor

Has any company thought about "abstracting out" the MP3 / WMA / WAV / other-format player functionality from the USB dri've storage?
Considering the proliferation of USB memory dri'ves, I think this a good idea.
So, what I envision is a little mobile MP3 "shell player" device which is simply an MP3 (or other format) decoder chip and D/A decoder, audio amplifier and a headphone jack, perhaps with a rechargeable battery. It would have a female USB jack, and would accept any type of USB memory stick. That way, you can just swap USB memory sticks .. and this hypothetical MP3 "shell player" would detect playable files on the plug-and-play memory stick and organize them for mobile play.
So who will be the first to offer such a device?

You should look for a support site for the MP3 player to see what format it uses and what the proper restoration procedure is-either that or contact the company directly.
