  • MSI K7T Turbo Limited Ed. + XP1700+

    Hi
I would like to know if my mainboard (MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition on KT133A) supports XP1700+ 0,13 processor?
I've already read on this site that it doesn't :( but from the other hand I've heard that some people have those Xp1700+ on the same boards and everythings works fine (with bios ver. 3.6).
So...will it work or not? XP1700+ 0,18 works perfect.
    Regards

Hi, it may work but there is no official support for it.

  • MSI K7T Turbo-R Limited Edition

Is this board no longer getting supported for new BIOS updates??
Thanks to anyone who knows this.

    Hi
I have Tv-Tuner, internal modem, LAN, second Sound Card on PCI and Gforce on AGP. Windows XP share IRQs and computer crashes. I hope, that with APIC will be less sharing then now. Yes, I know, that phisicaly there are only 4 IRQ signals on PCI A,B,C,D. But I thing that APIC should works better for me.
P.S. I tried all that stuff - change to "Standard PC" (shut down won't complete); manual assign IRQs in BIOS - nothing happens, cause WinXp override BIOS settings, etc. etc. etc.
P.S.S. I return original BIOS, cause BIOS for 7ZXE didn't know what clock ICs and voltage ICs are on my board

  • MSI K7T - USB ISSUE

I am using a MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition motherboard. The usb ports version was not indicated on the manufacturer website so I take it as version 1.1
My old OS was WIN XP PRO (SP1) and strangly enough even with usb 1.1, I have encountered good speed file transfer from my desktop to an external HDD. I can transfer a 400MB file within 3-4 minutes. I was satisfied then.
I made a fresh WIN XP PRO re-installation 2 days back but this times it was done with straight upgrade to SP2.  Now, I will alway get the following message (pic as follow) whenever I plug in my external hdd. The file transferring time has also lenghtened to abt 10mins with a 400MB files.
My usb version remain a doubt although I strongly believe it is 1.1 as you can see from my device manager as below.
The question is why did I not encounter that MESSAGE and the DIFFERENT OF SPEED before with SP1?

Yeah, if you installed with the bundled CD,maybe the problem you will never meet.
Is your board K7T Turbo?  Let me find it, haha...
            Here it is.
             Is it?  http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=100&kind=1http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=100&kind=1
First time, I reinstalled my PC, due to not use the relative drivers, my PC can't boot.
So, it will never happen on me.

  • K7T Turbo LE and problems with IRQ routing Win98SE

When I boot my machine (AMD 1600+ on an MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition), the BIOS reports me the following:
SiS6326 AGP card: NA (no IRQ even if I enable "Assign IRQ to VGA" in BIOS, but that's not my problem)
Startech NIC in slot 2: IRQ 11
    D-Link DFE-538 TX in slot 3: IRQ 10
Echo Mia soundcard in slot 4: IRQ 5
Onboard Promise ATA100 controller: IRQ 11
2x USB controllers Via 3038: IRQ 3 for each one
IDE controllers: IRQ 14 and 15
In "Settings - Control Panel - System - Device Manager", there's one big difference:
The two USB controllers (Via 3038 PCI to USB) are on IRQ 10!!! The only way for Via USB controllers to be on their real good one IRQ (3) is to completely disable "IRQ Steering" in "Settings - Control Panel - System - Device Manager - System Devices - PCI Bus".
    To resolve this, I tried:
    - different Via 4 in 1 (4.32, 4.35, 4.36): no changes
    - Via IRQ miniport uninstalled: no changes
    - Enable "PnP OS" and "ACPI" in the BIOS: no changes
    - Tried all the combinations in "Settings - Control Panel - System - Device Manager - System Devices - PCI Bus - IRQ Steering" (except disabling IRQ Steering because like I said, it resolves the bug. Though, I want IRQ Steering to be enabled AND the bug resolved).
So, if anyone have a clue, it will be really appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • K7T Turbo & CPU upgrade

Oops, is this the right spot for this post ? Anyway...
    I have a MSI K7T Turbo Version 3.0 Limited Edition motherboard,without RAID.
    (yes I know it's old)
The AMD Athlon processor (1.1Ghz) got fried and I want to replace it. The board is fantasic and I want to upgrade the processor. What AMD processors can I use in this board ?
The manual says 1.3Ghz maximum. I have seen on websites it will take up to 1.8Ghz. Is this true ?
I have also seen it will only take Athlon, or Palamino.
Someone else told me it will take the 1.33 GHz Thoroughbred processor , or some low Athlon XPs like XP1800+.... Help !
Can anyone please clarify for me ?
I want to put the maximum size processor in that will run with stability....
ps. I have upgraded my cooling system !

  • K7T Turbo Limited Ed. and problems :(

    Hallo
I have MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition mobo (on KT133A). Yesterday something strange happened. I was surfing the net and suddenly my PC rebooted. After reboot I saw that in BIOS test, BIOS didin't detect my hard drives connected to first controller. CD-ROM and CD-RW were properly detected on the second controller.
I turn the PC off....waited about 30 seconds and turn it on. And everything was fine again. But in a short time it happened again. But now I heard something strange. I heard that both drives are stopping...slow down wnd stop. After a 1-2 sec. windows XP freezed and PC rebooted again :( And again there was no drives detected on first controller :(
    I checked:
    1. viruses - system is clean. I checked it with NAV2003 (within windows and dos - from bootable disc)
    2. I tried to plug those 2 drives (15 GB Caviar and 15 GB Fujitsu) to the second controler (first was empty).
I asked some friends about it and one said that it could be power supply (maybe there is some instability or something).
Someone else told me that it could be a battery on the mobo (I have has this mobo for 2 years).
Or maybe it is a problem with motherboard? Maybe controller is damged....but...from the other hand when I restar the PC everythin works fine....some time :(
System: AMD XP1700+ (not overclocked), mobo as I said above, Radeon 8500, CD-ROM and CD-RW (pluged to second controller), Caviar 15 GB and Fujitsu (pluggeg do first controller), Windows XP with SP1.
I had no problems with that system befere.

    Hi
I must check the type of that battery...but from the other hand if the battery was the problem it wouldn't keep all BIOS settings. Am I right? But it keeps.
Power supply is 300W - it is a kind off no-name (I bouhgt it with case 3 months ago and there was no problems befere :( )
I've already borrowed one - I'll check it later today (after work).

  • K7T Turbo and Windows XP shutdown issues

I have just finished building a machine and installing Windows XP.  When I choose "shutdown" from the "start" (whose idea was that anyway?) menu it gets to the screen that says "It is now safe to turn off your computer" (or something to that effect) but all the system fans are still running.  How do I get the system to shutdown completely?
    The configuration:
MS Windows XP Professional with SP1 and ALL updates from windowsupdate.com
No other software installed (except for the drivers needed for the M/B)
MSI K7T Turbo with the latest BIOS from MSI's site
AMD 1400 Thunderbird w/PAL 8045 heatsink and fan
    512 PC133 SDRAM
WD 40Gb HDD (set as master on IDE1)
Sony CD-RW (set as master on IDE2)
    GeForce 2 MX 64Mb video
    3Com 3c905 10/100 NIC
    Integrated sound
    Generic Modem
    Generic floppy drive
I am going to be giving this system to my mother to use and want to make sure that it will turn off when she hits shutdown.
Any help/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • K7T Turbo, monitor shuts off randomly

I have a MSI K7T Turbo.  My monitor will randomly shut off.  I am running an xp1600 under win98.  Any suggestions?  I could b in a 3d game or just browsing the web.
I have an ample AMD approve power supply and note no other irregularities.  Video card?  Sometimes when it happens I can move the mouse around and it will come back?  I even tried another monitor and I get the same problem.

    Hi,
Try another AGP card, this is normally not something that's controlled by the motherboard.

  • K7T Turbo Ver. 3 Long-Short-Short Beeps

I am trying to put together a computer for friends for a christmas present.  I have hooked everything up and now I get three beeps when I start the computer:  LONG, SHORT, SHORT.  What does it mean?  How do I solve it?  The motherboard is an MSI K7T Turbo Version 3.
    Thanks,
    Josh

I just want to know what the beeps mean.  Obviously it's an error message.  The monitor won't even power on and I"m guessing that the rest of the computer doesn't start up either.
IT doesn't matter what the graphics card is because I"ve tried more than one.
The CPU is a CPU that worked for well over a year with the motherboard.  The hard drive doesn't matter because it made the beeps regardless of whether or not the hard drive is plugged in.  The RAM is 128mb 133mhz and it was what was in the motherboard before when it all worked.
Does anyone know what two short beeps and one long beep means???

  • K7T Turbo 2 False IRQS

I'm new to the forum, but not new to the computer world. I own a MSI K7T Turbo 2 mobo. I've installed both win2k pro and win2k server many times trying to resolve the issues. Durning pre post the IRQS seem to be fine. When I check them in the Operating system I'm getting like ethernet reading irq 19, soundcard reading 16, modem reading 18. This is by for the weirdest configuration I ever seen in a system. I'm thinking its factory defect. I know that there are only 16 irqs not 20 of them....Lost in space.
     X(

No, this is not a defect. This is "APIC", Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller, is a PC2001 Compliance design guide, which expands the IRQ resources. Is your system running without any issue? If no problem, that means APIC works fine in your system. :D

  • K7T Turbo D-Bracket USB connector?

    Please I need some help.
I have a K7T Turbo Limited Edition Motherboard 6330 V.30 .  It came with the P2P USB Bracket and the D-Bracket.
I can only find one place on the motherboard for a USB connector, how am I supposed to install these?  Is there a mismarked motherboard pinout?
My Motherboard manual says it has a connectors for 6 USB ports.
I have 2 near the PS2 connectors built in, the D-Bracket has 2, the P2P has 2 which = 6, but I can't find a place to plug the brackets into the motherboard.
I would appreciate any help in the matter at all
    Neoghost

    Hi
According to the MSI site for the K7T Turbo Limited Edition, your motherboard only supports 4 USB connections.
You can use a USB PCI card to obtain more if needed.

  • K7T Turbo-R Limited Edition and USB

After doing whatever research I could in these forums, I really couldn't find solid answer so I'm posting my questions.
I have recently ordered a new case for my K7T Turbo-R Limited Edition (it's the red one) which has additional USB connections in the front of the case.
Am I going to be able to connect the board to the case so I can use those USB slots?

    Hi Gregthos,
I remember there was something with these connections - I think they will only work with the bracket and for the PC2PC connection ...
There is at least 1 thread on this in the forum ... here

  • K7T TURBO and GeForce 4600

    Hello all,
I am having trouble trying to put together my K7T TURBO MS 6330 with an ASUS V8460 (Ti 4600 Ultra Deluxe).
Specifically, I just replaced my old Oxygen card with the GeForce 4  one, and as soon as I installed the SmartDoctor 2 utility, I got the message (in red flashing text) :
" Your VGA card voltage 1.5 is out of safe bound. Motherboard doesn't supply with reliable
    1.5 voltage.
Please contact with motherboard manufacturer for help."
(I've allready sent an email to MSI support, and still waiting.)
Furthermore, I've been experiencing sudden crashes (i.e. when I am using 3d applications) followed by a blue screen reporting an error message about a file that seems to belong to SmartDoctor folder.
I've read that ASUS vga cards are rather demanding as for power and voltage. Anyway, I'd like to ask everyone in the forum, if there is a safe and reliable way for the
K7T TURBO and the Ti 4600 to work together, perhaps with a motherboard BIOS update (I am still using ver. 2.7 since there was no need to flash it till now) or something...or maybe it would be a better thing to do, to install on my machine an MSI 4200 8x AGP card that is available, instead... or ... go back to my oxygen thingie... :(
My PSU is 420 Watt, and my cpu is Athlon 1200 with 768 mb ram.
Well, I just hope someone could help...
    Thanks in advance

    Hi all,
I forced my AGP bus to x2 a couple of minutes ago, and now I got a message from Smart(...) Doctor that my voltage is out of 3.3 V bound etc.. and a blue screen reporting UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE TRAP (?).So, the situation is not improved...
I also put my sound card to another PCI slot, but I still had no luck at all. The thing is that unfortunately I have IRQ 11 being used by 6(!) devices: my gfx card, my scsi controller, my soundblaster, 2 VIA USB controllers and Microsoft ACPI Compliant System. Not very nice indeed.
I wonder if updating the motherboard's BIOS would do any good; btw, mine is ver.2.7, while the latest is 3.6 (!), but since I was ok till now, why bother flash it?
For the time being, I am not able to run 3D Mark 2k1 beyond benchmark #3, since it stops, leaving me on the desktop, while whenever I run Maya, winamp 3 and ACDSEE 4 simultaneously, after a while I get the blue screen of death, saying something about anvioctl.sys file - a SmartDoctor file hiding into system32/drivers.  ?(
