USB not detected in Solaris 10

I am using Solaris 10 . rmformat output is:
Volmgt Node: /vol/dev/aliases/rmdisk0
Logical Node: /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0p0
Physical Node: /pci@0,0/pci17aa,1015@1d,7/storage@6/disk@0,0
Connected Device: JetFlash Transcend 4GB 8.07
Device Type: <Unknown>
I could not mount my pendrive. Please give any solution

Hi
I would first make sure pen drive is not formatted NTFS (if you are normally a Windows person) as you will not get anywhere with that. If you format FAT32 (OK for 4GB sticks) I have found it to work on SPARC, don't use Intel so don't know in that case.
Regards.

    Hi,
First of all thank you. I am happy with your customer support. I had a problem with the unresponsive screen in my HP OMNI 10 which has been solved now.
Now i am facing a new problem with the USB. I have tried all the possible methods but i am not able to find a solution.
My USB drive is not detected whereas SD card is detected. I also ran a component test which showed failed.
    Please help me out.
    Thank You.

    Hey @varun_viswanath ,
Welcome back to the HP Forums!
I see your USB is not being detected by your Omni 10 tablet.
Can you tell me which drive you are connecting (make, model, and size please) and which OTG cable you are using for this?
It would also help to know which Omni 10 tablet you have. You can see here for how to find the model: Locating the HP Omni 10 Tablet model number.
    Thanks.

  • Usb not detected on post

Does anyone have this problem whereby your usb devices are not detected by the system during post? the only way to get it recognized is by quickly unplugging and plugging back in when the reset button is pressed.

For full support you will need to update anyway, so might want to start there.
Make sure to re-install all of the intel drivers when you are done.
Edit: They just released a new full release so that is probably your best bet.

  • LAN card and USB not detected (KM4M-V)

I just formatted my PC yesterday, installing Win XP SP2. But the intergrated LAN card and USB is not detected in device manager. I tried HELP but cannot solve the problem.
I am a little confused. After formatting and installing Windows, the hardwares who don't have driver will be having a question mark icon in the device manager. But for my computer, no USB or LAN card is written in the device manager. How can that be?
I had checked my BIOS and nothing indicated to change the USB or the LAN card.
Where did i go wrong? I am using a MSI KM4M-V motherboard.
    Anyone can help? Thanks.

  • USB not detected

I recently brought a mac mini. First thing i did was update all the software, most importantly OSX to 10.5.1. I inserted a usb jump drive to transfer some file then properly ejected it. Now none of the usb ports work. I tried different devices; mouse, keyboard, external hard drive,... Tried rebooting. Nothing worked.
Then i tried resetting the PRAM (CMDOPT+PR). It detected my external drive. But after I eject it, the usb ports stop working. Is it a hardware or software issue? It only happen with the usb ports, my firewire works fine. PLEASE HELP

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
...but I didn't think they would fail so quickly, and with so little attached to them!!!
The load created by a WD Passport drive I've used in my office has been sufficient to cause a number of IBM and Dell laptops to suffer failed USB connectivity, so I would not be surprised to see the same sort of issue with a Mac mini. Indeed, the documentation supplied with the drive warned that is should be used with its own power supply (sold separately of course) whenever possible.
The mini conforms to USB standards, including voltage and current available on the bus to power external devices. However, not all devices conform to the standard in terms of load they exert.
Have you tried the SMC reset procedure as described below? If not, then I would suggest you try it. If it does not help resolve this, contact Apple regarding the USB outage since it is clearly within warranty!
    a major design fault!
Based on the number of reports of USB failures, it would seem not to be.
To reset the SMC on an Intel mini:
-From the Apple menu, choose Shut Down (or if the computer is not responding, hold the power button until it turns off).
-Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord and any display cables.
    -Wait at least 15 seconds.
-Plug the power cord back in, making sure the power button is not being pressed at the time.
-Then reconnect your keyboard and mouse to the computer.
-Press the power button on the back to start up your computer.

  • Plantronics .Audio 510 USB not detected in Leopard

    Hi guys and gals
I just updated my OS X from 10.4.9 to 10.5.1, and now I've got a bit of a problem with my Plantronics .Audio 510 USB headset. In 10.4, it would be detected automatically and work just dandy, but in 10.5, no such luck. It will not even show up in Sound in the Pref Panel. I've checked that the USB headset is receiving power, and it is. The mute button works and lights up, and the volume buttons affect OS X. The volume is turned up or down when I press them, but for the built-in speakers only.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys,
I've just bought the .Audio 510 USB myself. My system sees the headset but only as an "Unkown USB Audio Device". I can get it working, but I need to manually go in and select it in my systems settings and Skype preferences each time I plug it in.
I also use NiceCast streaming software and it's the same deal with that. How are you guys getting on with it. Have you had any success since you last posted?

  • Q10 USB not detected in Link or Blend

    Q10 SQN100-3 Rogers
    OS 10.3.1.1.1581
    Link 1.2.4.27
Connects wirelessly by default when Link first installed.  Blackberry Device manager shows Y and Z drives.
When wireless connections turned off in Link or turned off at device and USB connected:
Windows alerts that device has been connected.
Windows Device manager shows Blackberry device as well as Network Adapter Blackberry Device, Blackberry Tethering Device, Blackberry Virtual Private Network.
Blackberry Device Manager does NOT show any devices
    Device shows USB connected
    There are no firewall restrictions
There is no problem with the USB connection or port
USB connection on device set to manual IP address but that has no effect on Link
Rogers Tech Support verbally says that it is a known issue that BB is working on but nothing on any forum says that including this one.
Is this a known issue that is being worked on?

    I finally got it working:
    - I completely shutdown my Blackberry Q5 terminal and unplugged it from USB.
    - In the Windows Device manager, I can see the Blackberry Virtual Private Network in the Network adapter group, which is correct. But the Blackberry Terminal was not listed.
    - So I connect the USB back in my Blackberry Q5 device and turned it on with the switch on the top.
    - From there, Windows detected the terminal and installed the Blackberry Terminal drivers (automatically supplied with the BB Link software)
    - And Link started automatically saying that the BB is connected properly through USB.
    - When I turn on the USB mass storage, it works as well (and disconnect from Link at the same time), so  I have to turn off USB mass storage in the BB Q5 settings to make it connect back to Link through the USB cable.

  • N81 USB not detected

    Hi all,
I own an N81 8GB model. I brought it 2 weeks back. I usually connect my Linux computer and my mobile using the accompanied USB cable. It was working fine and I was able to transfer files successfully. Recently my phone is not getting recognized by my system on plugging in the USB. I am not getting the mobile alert asking what type of transfer should the mobile activate. Previously once when I had this issue I did a couple of restarts (mobile) and luckily it worked at that time. But now it is not. I even restarted my computer but of no use. Please help me. Without the USB transfer the 8GB would be a waste. Thanks

I had the same problem: I plugged the phone in my laptop's USB port -- and nothing no "ding dong" absolutely nothing! I tried plugging the phone to Linux box and no dmesg output here either.
I thought I broke the cable or the connector, and got a new one -- but nothing. It was driving me bonkers. Sometimes, I wish I would have gotten the iPhone instead -- seriously!
I discovered the "solution" for this problem by accident.
    Ok, here we go:
    1. Set a "quick alarm" in your clock application (i.e. two or three minutes past the current time).
    2. Turn the phone off.
    3. The phone will power up and your alarm will sound. Switch it off and the phone will ask you if you want to use the phone. Choose "Yes" here.
    4. Boom, magically your phone will be recognized again when you plug it to your USB port and the N81 will ask you to choose the transmission mode.
    5. You're done.
Don't ask me what happens in the phone when the alarm goes off, and how it got in that "non detect mode" in the first place but this is how I fix mine now. As an explaination how it might have gotten in that "non detect mode" the only thing I can think of, and this is pure speculation, is that I might have had the phone connected to the USB port while the Laptop was doing a reboot. In the boot sequence a USB device was recognized, and the PC tried to boot from it and this might be what screwed the phone up.
    Anyways, good luck everyone.

  • Bge not detected in Solaris 10.

    Dear users,
I just loaded Solaris 10 in a Dell Latitutde D630, yet I am unable to get network access because neither the physical NIC nor the Wireless adapter were detected. Doing a /usr/X11/bin/scanpci I determine that my station has a Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5755M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express at the physical level and at the wireless level it has a Intel Pro/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN adapter.
I tried doing a rem_drv bge and add_drv -i "pci14e4,1673" bge but the output is showing devfsadm: driver failed to attach: bge this is follow by a Warning: Driver (bge) succesfully added to system but failed to attach, any one have a clue to this problem. Please advise. Thank you.

I was able to get the local NIC working, I had to download the driver from Broadcom, the driver you want is Ethernet NIC NetXtreme Server Driver. make sure you run:
    unzip sol86-11.7.2.zip
In this case you can see that the file downloaded was a zip. When you unzip the file, it will create a directory under wherever you are working, in my case it was called sol86, since I was using a flash drive from a machine that I download the drive my path in solaris was /rmdisk/unamed_rmdisk/sol86, your path may be different depending in the name of your flash drive in my case I didn't have a name so it showed unamed....
The next step was to go one level inside the folder.
    cd /rmdisk/unamed_rmdisk/sol86/
This will give you a set of four files, one with .pkg and three others, we want to focus in BRCMbcme.pkg which is the actual package for the drive. I must tell you that at this point you got to make sure that you dont have a SUNWbge package in your system as it will caused conflict with the new driver. We can check that using pkginfo |less and going through the list of packages in the list. If you find SUNWbge in the list make sure you run pkgrm SUNWbge and unsintall the package, once that is done you are ready to install the BMCE driver. Again, be sure you are in /rmdisk/unamed_rmdisk/sol86/ , once there run pkgadd -d BRCMbcme.pkg it will install your new driver.
After the driver gets installl we make sure its there by doing a pkginfo | less again to verified. At this point make sure you don't have any bge references in /etc/path_to_inst , this can be done via vi /etc/path_to_inst or whatever editor you like.
The next step would be doing “touch /reconfigure” and reboot the system, once the system get rebooted I saw:
bcme0: Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet BCM95755M (Copper) is detected
    bcme: [ID 981347 kern.notice] NOTICE: bcme0: Firmware version 5755m-v3.29
bcme: [ID 801593 kern.notice] NOTICE: bcme0: No Link
bcme: [ID 801593 kern.notice] NOTICE: bcme0: Link is Up (100Mbps, Full Duplex)
Since this particular network card is 100Mb/s, you want to make sure you edit your /kernel/drv/bcme.conf with the proper value of 4 giving you 100Mb/s full duplex if that is your choice. Make sure that hostname.bcme0 is under /etc if it doesn't exist just create one using touch /etc/hostname.bcme0, meaning that bcme0 is running in instance 0 as you can check from dmesg. After this, make sure you configure the standard files of /etc/hosts, /etc/nsswitch.conf, /etc/resolv.conf to make sure DNS is configure properly.
If you cannot determine the instance number using prtconf, try doing a dmesg | less and look for the bcme entry, it will surely display. Make sure to plumb the adapter using ifconfig bcme0 plumb and then configure the adapter using ifconfig bcme0 ip_address netmask, where ip_address will be substituted for your own IP similar to your own netmask. To make this change permanent, make sure you create a /etc/hostname.bcme0 as stated before and inside that file type your own IP then make sure your subnetmask is type inside the file /etc/netmasks. For more information you can always do a man bcme as i did to learn more about the driver. I hope this help, I am out for now need to find information about the wireless adapter now. If I find time, I will post a follow up for the wireless once I get it working. Take care and good luck.

  • Usb not detected - palm centro

I recently purchased a Palm Centro.  The software was installed successfully and the Centro was able to Sync with the computer, however, I am unable to download music.  Windows Media Player (and my computer's Device Manager) does not seem to detect the device.  I connected my mp3 player to the computer, and it was immediately detected by Window Media Player.  I'm just wondering if it's the cable that's defective or the user.  Am I doing something wrong?
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

And you have no problems hotsyncing??? Well there are two things it could be either windows media player can't recognize the device properly or the conduit on the device is having a hard time recognizing windows media player. So you have two things you can consider either hard reset the device and test syncing to windows media player without syncing anything else back to the phone or try uninstalling/reinstalling windows media player.
