USB pin definition MS6191 motherboard

Hi,
Trying to conect mumitsu combined floppy & media card reader. Floppy is conected fine, but card reader conects to internal usb connector (10 pin) on MS6191 motherboard. USB connection on motherboard has 8 of the 10 pins present. It's not the modern standard yellow USB, but black. So trying to identify what pin does what.
Lead from card reader has 5 connections red =power, black = (earth/ground), white = data - (d-), green = data + (d+).
Any help appreciated

Check the mobo manual. It will have details about the pins!

  • Pin definition for TV OUT Connector (C&S)

I`ve bought graphic card MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 TD 64MB but there was no the cable for TV connecting. I`ve bought the cable, but it does not work. Do anyone knows the pin definition for " TV_OUT Connector (C&S)", because I can`t find it in user`s guide.

Could you help me? I own a FX 5200 8907 TD128, and the 4 pin S-Video outputs B&W image. The card came with a S-Video to RCA cable, but it isnt useful. Software setting doesnt have an effect. When in the POST the TVoutput is enabled by default and it outputs color images!. Changing PAL from NTSC doesnt have an effect. I did this with 2 RCA TVs and with a VCR. Still Black and White!!!.
I thought i had to buy a new cable but in the setup or during Windows load the outputs works good. May it be a VGA BIOS problem???

  • Electric current in USB pin

When I connect my E51 to pc via USB,today I encountered strange phenomena. When one end of USB was connectedcto pc and still second end was not inserted into phone,at that time I did not get electric shock even if my fingers were touched to second end of USB ie to its pin, acually none can expect shock from USB pin but accidently when my ring in finger was touched to pin I have got shock.
Is it normal phenomena or should I consult pc mechnaic?Still with only fingers I do not get shock, get it only when I touch any metallic object to USB pin.
That current might be so feeble so I cannot experience it with only finger touch. But is always USB pin Have feeble current? Please help me out.
Will this current harm my handset?

The power cable of your PC most provably not using the grounded pin, or the sockets where it is plug is not properly wired. Power on USB is only 5VDC & in very small amperage & usually won't give electric shock.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • Software to change USB voltage on Gigabyte motherboard

    Hi, all!
I need a program/driver which could change USB voltage on the fly. I need that due to iPad 2 which says "Not charging" when I connect it to my PC. I googled and find out that iPad requires higher current in USB port than most motherboards provide.
In this thread a tool for ASUS motherboards was offered but it's for Windows only. The fact that such a tool exists makes me thinking that it could be implemented for Linux too.
    Thanks.

    Never mind, it's ok.
Actually, I accidentally told you wrong information. When I decided to find out exact motherboard model, I realized my motherboard is ASUS P5PL2. Sorry, I had to check that far before starting the thread.
However, I have kind of good news. Here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1504845) someone solved the problem on Ubuntu 10.10 x64 and offered a small program which enables iPad charging on PC. For those who might read this thread later I provide direct links to it:
    Page with the program
Direct link to zipped deb file
    Direct link to source code
Unfortunately, when I connect my iPad and start the program, it says:
    [bz@bolt ipad_charge]$ sudo ./ipad_charge
ipad_charge: no such device or an error occured
I'm not sure, but I guess this might be related to the problem I mentioned two days ago.

  • USB connections on 6330 motherboard

My MS6330 (version 3) motherboard has 2 connectors for hooking up USB for the front connections on my case. One of them is for regular USB and I think the other one is used for transferring data from computer to computer. I am currently using the USB1 connector. I'd like to use them both as regular USB connectors, since I have 2 on the front of my case. Is it possible? USB2 is missing #1 pin (gnd) and #9 pin (VCC). I was thinking about using the VCC pin on USB1 for USB2 also but decided against it at this time. Feedback please.

The following is all that my manual shows:
USB PC TO PC CONNECTOR: USB2 (optional)
The mainboard provides a Universal Serial Bus connector for you to connect optional USB ports. One of the ports is implemented with USB PC to PC Networking function.
    USB 1.1: pin 2 = GND
                  pin 4 = GND
                  pin 6 = USBD2+
                  pin 8 = USBD2-
                  pin 10 = VCC
USB PC to PC Networking: pin 1 = NC
                                           pin 3 = USB3D-
                                           pin 5 = USBD3+
                                           pin 7 = GND
                                           pin 9 = NC
Where "NC" is shown, there is no pin available.
I currently have one (of two) of my front connectors hooked up to the USB1.1 header.

  • MS6167, USB pin outs for front port

Can anybody tell me again the pin assignments of front usb header of MS6167.  I remember somebody figured  this out but that was quite a long time ago (may be almost two years ago).  The manual only indicated pin1 but no description and location of the other pins.  I contacted MSI regarding this matter but they rather refer it to you guys...he he.  Please help!  So I can install a usb port at the front of my pc casing.  I've read that wrong connection to the usb port can result to frying my precious usb device (my Acer usb external cd writer)

    Hey James,
I've just sussed this one out, although I've used a back panel bracket:-
I've purchased a Belkin F3U001 and successfully fitted it to my USB Front Header. Everything appears to be AOK.
Just for any other interested MS-6167 owners the pins are (as per Motherboard):-
    5V/VCC * * Ground
    USBD0- * * Ground
    USBD0+ * * USBD1+
    Ground * * USBD1-
    Ground * * 5V/VCC (marked as 1 in Manual)
This relates directly to Example D in the Belkin F3U001 Installation Instructions.
    Cheers,
    Pete.  :D

  • USB pinout for DC7100 motherboard

I've looked everwhere and can't find the USB pinout for the P24 header on the motherboard. I've had to put the mobo into a new case. Can someone show me where this info is located? Thanks.
PS. How do I change my email address????

Well, let me clear that there's no seperate power connector to USB from the power supply. There would be a pin set on the motherboard which could be connected to the USB card reader or the port. The pin would be usually named as USB-1 or USB-2.
You did not mention about the product info on the forum, if you know the model number, follow the below steps to check the exact port on the motherboard.
    1. Open www.hp.com
    2. On the top search field, type: model number of the PC, and press enter.
    3. Open the product specifications page, and find the name of the motherboard.
    4. Search with the name of the motherboard in HP website, you will see the motherboard layout with labellings.
This will clealy show the port and the connection to you.

  • USB pin out question

What is the difference between the USB header pin out on a 266 pro2 RU board and the KT3 Ultra 2 boards?  I replaced the RU board with the ultra2 board, keeping the USB brackets and connecting  them to the USB 2 headers on the new board. These USB connectors never worked.   Finally replaced one with the DLED/USB2 bracket that came with the Ultra 2 board, Works just fine. I thought the pin out were the same... must be wrong somewhere...

  • Usb pin bend in macbook air(mid 2011,bought in april 2012) demands a complete replacement of the logic board which costs around $500.Is it justified?

I had recently purchased a macbook air mid 2011 in india (surat) and to my surprise two out of four pins of the usb slot on the right side got bent while trying to insert a usb pendrive.I was shocked when the store said that it was a physical damage and it will not be considered in the warranty(apple care protection plan) and i would have to pay around $500 to replace the logic board with the new one since the usb port was directly mounted on it.
I have been using the usb port since the time it had came to market and i know how to plug in a usb drive. There is no case of inserting the usb pendrive inverted as the structure of the usb port itself explains it.
I have already read the discussions on such an issue and many people have got the logic board repaired by the company.
But i will be thankful to the person who has gone through the same situation and put forward his experience about how to get a "fast response repair from apple"  in response to this discussion.

Applecare was no help at all. I called and did the complaint. They confirmed that it is registered to me and everything but essetially told me that they cant give me answers as to what is taking so long. They knew a repair was in progress but wanted to set me up with an appointment at an apple store? (the nearest Apple retail store is Billings which is 240 miles away, or about 4 hours). i tell them its at the repair place and they go on to tell me they can send me a box to mail it in and have it reapir by them.. They are trying to shift the blame to the AASP and his rep. But he said he has been trying with very few answers from Apple as well

  • USB HD on 6533E Motherboard

    Hi,
I've got a new MS-6533E Motherboard which supposedly
    supports USB2.
I've got an external USB2 harddisk. The board does not
seem to recognise the drive when plugged in.
It works on other machines, and other USB devices work
    on the 6533 Motherboard.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
    cheers
    marius

sorry for my ignorance, but why intel drivers?
The board has a SiS chipset (651).

  • IO Standard and Pin Definition on ZC702

    Hi,
I am currently working with a ZC702 eval board using a Microblaze processor with UART to run a "Hello World" program to a terminal. I have run Connection Automation and Block Automation but when I run generate bitstream I receive User Assigned constraint and IO Standard errors.
The problem ports are specifically the reset, rs232_uart_rxd, and rs232_uart_txd. I know the UART pins are defined as C14 and D11 in the user manual but these pins are not available in the IO planner and I chose to assign the reset signal to a pushbutton on B5.
Is there a reason why I can't assign these signals to their respective pins? They are not available to assign any signal to them at all, they are labeled as "Read Only".
I inserted a screenshot of the block design for the project.

    n,
There is the processor system (PS), and the programmable logic (PL) in Zynq.
The PS has its own IO pins, specifically for PS functions.
The PL has its own IO pins, as part of the IOB tiles, in the programmble logic fabric.
The signals:  reset, rs232_uart_rxd, and rs232_uart_txd -- they are the PS signals (not PL signals).  So they are not availble to be used by the PL.  You will have to choose PL IO pins to carry these signals.  That may be quite incovenient, as the uart signals will need to go to a RS232C level shifter, USB converter, or some other terminal interface, which may not be present on the ZC702 pcb (in fact, it is not).  There is the FMC connector for PL IO, so you may need  a FMC adapter board.  I see no boards that provide a UART-USB connection, however.
Refer to ug850 to see what is PL, and what is PS in terms of IO.

  • Really STRANGE K8N Neo4 Platinum Problem

I need help so badly.. I couldnt get my WIndows to boot , unless I shut it down when it froze, and then when the "Windows was improperly shut down" screen came up, I had to select START WINDOWS MANUALLY, then it works... now I tried everything, changing PSU to 24pin, removing all drives, all usb devices, 1 stick of ram etc... always same thing, so I take my computer to my cousins house... and BLAM it works, so Im like , come back home, and its not working again...
The only difference here and there, would be monitor, and keyboard+mouse...

    Antec Trupower 430W 26A +12V
Now... Since it works at my cousins house.... Im thinking... it has to be related to Monitor or LOGITECH WIRELESS DUO, I dont have spare monitor or Mouse+keyboard to test... anyone have any clue :(

My guess is there's no definite standard for USB pin configuration. Therefore, to re-word what's already been said: the motherboard his its own independent layout for each USB pin on the motherboard. What does this mean, (EG. it means that pin1 on your female case USB connector might be pin4 on your male USB motherboard pin and USB pin1 on the motherboard might be pin4 on your female USB case connector). This obviously is not the case but something similiar to this is causing you a problem.
The reason I said try using your USB devices solely with your motherboard/d-bracket connectors is that the motherboard connectors were built into the motherboard by MSI so we know they're correct and the D-Bracket was built by MSI so we know that's correct. If you still experience the same BSOD/crashes when connecting your USB devices to the motherboard/d-bracket then it sounds to me like an RMA is in order. However, if you're experiencing these crashes when connecting them only to the case connectors then it sounds like you have some research to do because nothing wrong with your board. If this is the case, RMA'ing the motherboard will only delay your computer endeavors and you will experience that exact same problem (if not worse) with the new board.
What kind of research must you do, might you ask? You will need to remove each pin in the motherboard connector and find out what it is (Ground, VCC, what?) then you will need to pin them up as a moderator like Wonkanoby has listed and that should fix your problem. Most good cases don't have the USB ports pinned. They label each wire and you pin them yourself. This allows for no room for error.
