USB port charging

Couple weeks ago my phone stop charging well, I tried different chargers and one from a playbook works but now sometimes work sometimes no I think the problem is the USB port I don't know what happened!!!
Help meeee

A specialized small electronics repair house in your town might tackle it... takes a bit of soldering in the new one.

My mac mini wont turn on but there is power to it as the usb port charges my iPad. My monitor uses a HDMI cable when the mac mini is off it says no input received which it does not say so it is receiving some signal from the mac mini. I have tried a different cable and a different monitor/ hdmi cable. The fan isnt running there is no start up noise but the little light on the front blinks every 4-5 seconds. Im booked in to see a GENIUS on sunday but I was wondering if there is anything I can do in the mean time. The mac mini is only 8 months old if that. Any ideas people? Oh the mac is also running mountain lion and has been since the day of release i've never had a problem up until this.

Can you count the beeps or flashes?
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

1 USB port charge but not recognise my iphone the othe one works fine

I have MacBook Air 11-inch, Mid 2012
1 USB port just charges my phone but not recgnise it. I tried a flash drive and it didn't recgnise it as well
It was working well but all of a sudden it stopped working
please help

Try resetting the PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
After resetting NVRAM or PRAM, you may need to reconfigure your settings for speaker volume, screen resolution, startup disk selection, and time zone information. If issues persist, your Mac's logic board battery (not a portable Mac's rechargeable battery) may need to be replaced. The logic board battery helps retain NVRAM/PRAM settings when your computer is shut down. You can take your Mac to a Mac Genius or Apple Authorized Service Provider to replace the battery on the logic board.

USB port charge battery MuVo n

I have a question about the USB port and rechargeable battery.
I use a rechargeable AAA battery in my MuVo N200.
I notice when my battery is near to dead and I connect my MuVo to the USB port of my PC, it's seem to recharge the battery.
The battery indicator show me full.
Is it possible that the USB port of my computer recharge my battery?
Is it normal?
Can this phenomena damage my MuVo?

What's more likely is that when in the PC the player is using USB power and the battery is recovering a little. Alkalines do recover a tiny bit, particularly when warmed up, or so's the myth.

Charging phone using USB ports while in sleep

Hey guys!
I recently updated my macbook pro mid 2011 to the new operating system: MAVERICKS
I used to do this little handy thing, where i used my mac as a powerbank for my phone once it was empty. I would insert a micro usb cable in one of the usb ports, and it would be active and thus charge my phone....
It worked before, but in mavericks it's gone!
Now it seems like in mavericks the usb-ports aren't powered during sleepmode anymore... how do i change this back?

I run Mavericks, my USB ports charge my iPad and / or iPhone while asleep. The behaviour has not changed.

My ipod touch is connected to my USB port, it sais it's charging although... it doesn't show on itunes that i have plugged my device in, once i turn my ipod on the apple icon appears but then loses battery streight away and starts off all over again.

although it is doing what i asked it to do, i want it to charge, ok so it does it... although when i turn it on it's as if it's either not charged at all but only enough to have the apple icon on my ipod, once it's had enough (which is like, a minute) it switches itself off and carries on charging, sometimes it switches itself on but this just takes it back to step one. also, when i connect my device to the USB port itunes does not recognise it for some reason, i've updated the newest version of itunes recently and i've tried annother ipod on annother computer with the same USB cable, so it's either the newest version of itunes, my ipod or my computer. please help
P.S,
i do have the required version of windows for this to work, my computer isn't a mac, it's a pc, hope this helps...

how long have you had your ipod? mine did the same but after a while you need to get a new one because of the battery...

Hey...i bought an ipod touch last month and i did not Realized that a piece of the usb port was missing on the bottom of the ipod touch. So every time i want to charge it on my dock it would not charge and i tried to us the usb for my computer and that did not work. You may not need a receipt to for warranty work. Check your warranty here:

Try to see what happens on another computer. If it works on another computer, the issue is not at the iPhone.

My 1st gen iPad is not recognized by my PC, my iMac or my macbook. it's charged, connected directly to the usb port, shows the connect to iTunes screen, but is not in the device list on the pc or iTunes?? I have reset it repeatedly, and rebooted???

I am conneting my Ipad to mutiple Pcs, (windows and Mac) and it is not being recognized in the device list on itunes or the computers. the ipad is fully charged, I have reset it numerous times and it gives me the apple icon and then the "connect to itunes" message.... but dose nothing after that. I had it all set up and gave it to my daughter who tried to sync it with her macbook when it did this. We are using direct connections to the computers usb ports, the cables are new, ituens is newly updated on all pc's...
any ideas what the problem is??

IPhone 4S won't charge anywhere in my house if its powered on, only off - but will charge by USB port in my car. Help!?

I know part of my question is a repeat of others, but - I can't find one on the boards that matches mine exactly.
Basically, many months into having my phone (I'm updated to the current software), my phone is refusing to charge by wall sockets. I thought it may have been a specific socket, so I tried others. No luck. I tried connecting to one of the power strips I my room, again, no luck. With my last attempt, I plugged it into one of the USB ports on my new power outlet block (has two USB ports), AGAIN, no power.
I switched and also tried 4 different cords. No change.
At this point, after an hour of extreme frustration, my phone had died. So, I plugged it in for you-know-what's & giggles. Within about 15 minutes, my phone mysteriously powered on with about 5% battery - but, NO CHARGING SYMBOL AND NO CHARGING ONCE ON! I even tried almost every outlet, in a two story house, while switching between outlet, power strip, and USB ports on the power block - to no avail!
I was stunned, so as a last resort I went to my car. I have a 12v universal USB charger, as well as a USB port that is built into the car. They work...
As you can surely see, I'm extremely frustrated. Since my fiancés iPhone is broken, and my mother (whom I do not live with) is a severe heart patient, and currently sick - I need my phone on & running out to let the phone charge in 20* weather and going out to check it every hour, is not ideal.
So, ultimately, if anyone can explain to me if they believe it could be a circuitry issue, battery issue, or phone issue - also, explain as to why it will charge by two methods in my car, but not any means in my house; I would be greatly appreciative!

last night I tried to charge my iPhone 4 with my ps3 USB ports, suddenly it began to stop charging and start again like on/off so i unplugged it from my ps3, now it wont charge with my ac adapter or my macbook, however it charges on one computer that ive build my self. if my phone turn off due to 0% battery it will charge anywhere until it got 5% power
since it charges means nothing is wrong with the phone i think, so I will buy a new USB cable, or borrow one to see if it works. most likely the usb cable causing the problem for both of us

- Try restoring the iPod, first from backup and then try to factory settings/new iPod to rule out a software problem.
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.
- Could you have damaged something when you took the iPod apart and replaced the Home button?

IPhone 5s is not charging in my car USB port.

Hi everyone, I am new to posting here in the apple support community so please forgive me.
Last weekend I recently just purchased the iPhone 5s - my first iPhone (I have previously owned iPods, iTouch and the Macbook Pro; so I am familiar with Apple products). My car (Hyundai Accent 2012) has a USB port near the cigarette charging port, along with an aux cable port. My previous android phones were able to be charged using the appropriate cord through the USB port, as well as my iPods and iTouch. However, when I attempt to use the USB port, to charge my new iPhone 5s, it wont charge whatsoever. The lightning bolt, on the iPhone, will flicker and then finally I will get a pop up stating that the charging device is not supported by Apple. Is there any way that I can change this in my phone settings? Because, the car USB port has worked for other devices and iPods in the past. I have even used the same cord that came with the iPhone and it still does not work. So, I know it's not a cord issue.
Has anyone else had this issue?

It's not working with my Hyundai either. Apple did something with the USB port when they came out with IOS7. It worked fine with IOS6. Now you have to sync your phone in the car using Bluetooth and the sound quality is horrible. They need to fix this!

My Iphone 3gS is not being recognized in Itunes on my laptop. It is charging so the USB port is working properly. My wifes Iphone IS being recognized by the same laptop. My Iphone IS being recognized by the desktop computer and another laptop

My Iphone is not being recognized in Itunes on my laptop. It is charging, so the USB port is working. My Iphone does work on another Laptop in the house and My wifes Iphone is being recognized on the same laptop that mine is not. Any suggestions?

The key bit of information here is that one iPhone works on the computer in question and another does not. So it is unlikely that AMDS is not running or there is a driver problem; if either of these was the problem neither phone would be recognized in iTunes.
Unfortunately, I don't have an answer either. Except to verify that both iPhones (the one that works and the one that doesn't) use the same cable and the same USB port.
Also, are the two iPhones the same model and same iOS version?
