Each time i connect my player to either a laptop or desktop, I get the following message:?A usb device has exceeded the power limit on it's hub port?Now I've tried putting it in different usb ports but it keeps saying the same thing. Can anyone help please?
How many USB devices do you have connected at any one time?Try unplugging a device that you are not using at the?same time that?you wish to connect your Zen. If that does not work, contact your?computer manufacturer, as you may have exceeded your motherboards supply capabilities!

I am forced to reset.I would guess that your external DVD is drawing too much power from the USB port, and could be one of the older units; newer units are usually more power efficient. Such device usually come with a USB cable with two USB connectors that can draw power from two USB ports simultaneously. You may be able to get such cable separately but since the two USB ports are located at extreme ends in the S10, you may want to check that the cable come with the USB connectors with sufficient length to reach both the USB ports simultaneously.

I have a Dell Inspiron 500 with XP SP2.
I also have a Zen Micro 6 GB that works perfectly.
Recently I attached the Zen to the laptop and every time I receive this message:
"PowerSurgeOn Hub Port. A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port."
I take the Zen to my work computer and it works perfectly.
?What is the problem?

Lorenzo^your laptop is unable to provide enough power to charge your Zen Micro.
If it has other USB ports, try using them.
It may be a case that the laptop is not designed to power external devices like the Zen Micro. -
Help!-wont charge- A USB driver has exceeded its power limits?!!?
my iPhone charged just fine for the past two months, and now it only charges sometimes.
I will plug it into the wall charger, and it will charge just fine, and then i'll go to charge it again sometime, and it just wont charge, so i tried to plug it into my macbook, and my imac, and they both said "a USB driver has exceeded its power limits, etc, etc." and so i tried my PC, and it gave me the same message. This has happened more than once, and eventually it just charges, but then the whole situation will repeat days later.
I've called apple over 3 times, and no one has helped me. so...
help??First, try a different cable. It may be shorting out causing the USB port to overload. Especially since it happens on two computers.
If the cable is ok, try turning the iPhone off. This can be done by holding down the sleep and home buttons until the off slider appears. Then restart it.
If this doesn't help, take it to an Apple store for assistance. -
Right USB port has exactly the same tasks as the left side one?
I v a USB sound cart (MBox 1 by digidesign)
Wen I use togeteher with it an external hard disk connected with USB (some time the fire wire is occupied by another hard disk) if the USB hard disk is on the left side (looking the screen) and the MBox on the right...the hard disk start making a "periodic" sound similar to a metronome and it doesn't run....if I invert the positions it work fine.
Is this normal ? The USB port works fine with the MBOX but with the USB Lacie hard disk is not working....the other USB port is working fine with both.
Is an hardweare problem ? Since my MBP is 2 weeks old I would consider the idea to send it to fix this problem.

ShiamaThis sounds like the same problem I'm having with my MacBook Pro. For whatever reason the USB port on the left side of the machine does not provide sufficient power to spin up any USB bus-powered hard drive. The USB port on the right side of the machine works just fine for external USB bus-powered devices.
I have sent my system back to Apple to have this problem fixed. Unfortunately, their "repair" did not fix the problem at all. I just got off the phone with Apple again, and they are going to re-repair my system again.
I would suggest that you try an experiment with your USB hard-drive. Just plug it into the left side port without having any other USB devices plugged into the right side. Check if the drive just clicks and does not spin up. Then try the same thing with the USB port on the right side.
If you find that the drive works fine on the right, but not on the left, I would call Apple support for a repair. I do not think this is an isolated issue, but rather is probably a design issue with the systems. The issue should have been caught during testing before the MacBook Pro went into production, but obviously that is not the case. Hopefully if enough people complain about this Apple will take it seriously and fix the problem.

Yesterday no sound, but worse...Trying to connect to computer to charge gives me the message "A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub power. Clicking on the balloon states "A USB device has malfunctioned & exceeded the power limits of its hub port. You should disconnect the device." Plugging into the wall charger states "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone...want to change to Airplane mode..." Is my iPhone dead? Ideas please. Thanks

USB port has power but isn't working
Hey guys,
One of my usb ports has decided to stop working properly, I'm still able to use peripherals which ONLY require power, an example being my external fan which works fine in that port.
However, I'm unable to use my mouse or any storage device in the port.
The lights(if any) on the devices will light up as normal but will not do much other than that.
I have not made any major changes since the last time the port was successfully used, it has just stopped working.
I've restarted multiple times and the issue persists.
All other usb ports work perfectly normal, no issues.
Specs:
Pavilion DV6 7029TX
Running Windows 8 Pro 64bit
All up to date with windows updates
If any other info is required please let me know.
I'd appreciate any and all help someone may provide in helping me get to the bottom of this.

I think we should try ALL the drivers. The Chipset drivers are the drivers for your motherboard and the other drivers are for the individual on-board devices. I am thinking we should do your Chipset drivers first and then your on-board drivers. Like building a house we should ensure the foundation is solid before adding the house on top. What I would like you to do is to download and install ALL the drivers from the HP Pavilion dv6-7029tx Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers page. Ensure you download and install the Chipset drivers first, after that it does not matter which order you install the drivers.

I get this strange message every so often, sometimes more often than other times. It says:
USB port drawing too much power. The device that is plugged into it will be deactivated.
There are only two things plugged into the USB-The keyboard and mouse. When I get this message, the mouse freezes. If I jiggle the mouse cable where it is plugged into the USB, it comes back and everything is fine until this message comes up again.
Ever seen this before? What did you do?

After you get this message, if you plug the mouse in to either USB port (As each port is a seperate bus), to clear the alert, and go into About this Mac, and More info, if you expand the USB info for each bus. Is there anything there that appears to be out the ordinary? (IE Only showing one bus, Showing a device plugged into a bus that isn't plugged in?) -

Yes, unless the iPod is a third generation full-size model, which can't charge from any USB source.

When I hooked my nano up to my computer today, the screen went black with a silver apple icon on it...it's still all lite up and on...but it won't change from that screen.

Want to add a 6 TB G-Raid (Mac os extended) ext drive to a 2Tb time capsule, using a powered usb with the TC usb port. Using the airport utility 5.6 on iMAC (10.7.3). Went to manual setup,then disk. Have options of the TC or 6TB. Won't allow update to the 6TB

I am not 100% what isn't allowed.. but I am assuming you want to spread the backup across the two disks.. internal TC and 6TB external.. this is not possible.. It has to be one or the other. TC has no way to build a raid JBOD or anything else. Nor would you want to as that is the most likely to fail and kill your data.
Let me add, backing up 6TB over USB on TC.. will be the most excruciating experience of your life.. cf child birth or passing kidney stones.. large ones.. being the male equivalent. -

My problem - when syncing and error messages comes up: iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone because an error occurred while margin data." I've tried turning the phone off and back on, & tried both USB ports but get the same thing. What can I do next since it doesn't give me even one clue as to what the error would be?
Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted : a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone. I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them. It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!

Smartform Activation[program "SAPLSUNI" has exceeded the permitted runtime]
I was working on a smartform. For 2-3 Hrs it was working fine, whatever changes I was making were getting activated smoothly.
Then, for some unknown reason the smatform stopped getting activated. Timeout dump is happening. But when we 'Check' the smatform, no error is coming. Still it is not getting activated.
I checked another smarform & made some changes, activated....it got activated instantaneously. The function module of that smartform that it is showing in Environment -> Function Module Name -> /1BCDWB/SF00000144
But when we check SE37, it says no such module exists !!! Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For some reason, the problem automatically got resolved. First I check STXFADMI table to find entry of the FM against that smartform. When I punched the FM name of the smartform in SE37, it repeatedly said "FM does not exist". But the entry for that FM is present in the STXFADMI table. Hence I started debugging SE37 after entering the FM name. To my surprise, at the end the FM was displayed !!! After that I went to the smartform & activated, again surprised....it got activated in a flash !!!
Can anyway justify this mystery ?
