USB post to upload from Camcorder

When I purchased my MacBook last November, the Apple rep grossly misrepresented the need for FireWire - probably because the MacBook doesn't have one. I was told FireWire is only to transport information from one Mac to another Mac. No mention of video uploading being impossible and I didn't realize my video camera used this technology called FireWire at the time.
Since I'm "SOL" in terms of hooking up my camcorder to my MacBook via the DV cable, I thought I was in luck that there's a USB port on the camcorder. When I hook up the the camcorder to my MacBook via USB, nothing happens. *The MacBook is entirely unresponsive and doesn't recognize a peripheral has been plugged in.* What gives?
p.s. I've searched the forums and have read all the threads/posts on how it's not possible to use FireWire on my particular computer, and I get that. Unless you have a solution to that, please only address why the MacBook is unresponsive to the USB connection and what I can do to correct the problem. Thanks!

It's a Panasonic PV-GS35 MiniDV. I don't have any still images saved (no card inserted); just the video. I suppose this could be the reason, but don't you think the computer would have recognized that something was at least attached to it? I found it odd that I couldn't find any reference to the peripheral in my Finder.
Here's something else I noticed since my first post: On my camcorder, when you rotate the dial (to record, playback etc.) the dial I use to turn it to Computer mode actually says "PC" - I wonder if this means that the camera simply refuses to work with a Mac at all.

You may be able to do this with iMovie 8
Or you could get MPEG Streamclip (free) and the Apple MPEG Playback Component (costs) and try converting your cams files to .mov files that FCE understands

I can can upload photos to my facebook page and the same problem with our fat cow web site. We can upload from both chrome and safari with no problem. Upgraded from 8.03 to 9.0 and same problem???

Follow the instructions to uninstall then reinstall the Flash plugin then restart the Mac(s).

Error in running Extract Definition Upload from Data File concurrent.

Hi all,
Am trying to upload the 834 Extract Layout from the data file by running the concurrent program, Extract Definition Upload from Data File.
After running this concurrent program am getting the Extract Layout definition with Record layout and Data elements within it.
But some record layouts has the changes at their repeating level in that.
Please suggest me how do i get the same repeating levels for the record layouts when i move the 834 benefit extract layout definition
from one instance to another instance.

We have exactly the same error in IBolt. This error happens sometime and we don't find the reason.
IBolt has been upgraded to Version 3.1 SP1 and a fix has been developed by the support. After installation, we've work hardly during 2 days for testing all the flows by the customer without having this error.
Ibolt works as a service and when this error occurs, the service stopped and must be restarted.
In our flows, we have put a delete of the observer.dll file just before the rest of the flow but it doesn't solve the problem.
Deleting the directory can be temporarly a solution but the error come back another day.
Each time the SBO client or DTW is started, the %temp%\SMS_OBJ_DLL directory is created...
When you just delete the observer.dll file and leave the rest of the directory like it is, the file is re-created when you start and log to SBO. I would say that this file is a copy of another file observer_800178.dll (800178 depending of the version of SBO yoi have). 800178 corresponds to SBO 2007 A PL 42.
Do you have more information since your post has been send ?

All clips missing after import from camcorder!

All clips are missing after import from camcorder - Canon ZR20. For some tapes all clips are there, for others there are none. All the files are there in the finder, but I don't know how to have them show up in Final Cut Pro X.
Any suggestions?

Ok - this is frustrating. I have been importing my old miniDV tapes again into FCPX as I wasn't able to transfer all of these projects from iMovie - don't get me started... After importing about 7 of the tapes the first 3 came in fine, but the last 4 didn't have any clips as I said in my original posting. Now after restarting FCPX a couple of times all of a sudden the clips are all coming in! Strange! Guess I'm OK now.

You can re-enable it for special purposes, opposite of disabling it...
Disable Java in your Browser settings, not JavaScript.

Asset Master Uploading from Legacy

Hi All SAP Gurus,
I am doing the Asset Master Uploading from the Legacy System. I am able to upload the data from transactions AS91, OASV. But I am facing a peculiar problem.
I want to uplad the balances in the middle of the year i.e. 1st Feb 09. My Fiscal year is from January to December. So whenever I am uploading the data & afterwards I am doing the Depreciation Run, the system is calculating the depreciation from January itself. I have maintained
The Date of the Legacy system transfer as 01.02.2009.
Last period of Posted Depreciation in Prv. System as 2009/01.
Can anyone tell me what is the problem? Whether this can be taken care by the shortened fiscal year?

When you want that SAP calculates the depreciation for Januari the set-up is:
Take over date 31-12-2008 and last depreciation run old system per 12-2008
Whit this you have the option to run the depreciati for Januari or to do an uplanned depreciation that you post in Februari January and February
When not:
Take over date 31-01-2009 and last depreciation run old system per 01-2009 in that case you have to upload the depreciation from period 01 with AS91?

Sometimes features dropped from one version are put in an extra, or addendum file on the install disk. Might check the disk or if downloaded go to that site and see if there is something.

Differentiate file uploaded from explorer view in SharePoint

Hello,
I am working on event receiver which on item adding updates few fields of document in library if those are not empty. The code is working fine in new file, drag and drop but in explorer view, I am not getting afterproperties values except two default field
values (vti_parserversion and vti_filesize). But in updating event we are getting those values.
Is there any way to differentiate file uploaded using explorer view in event receiver? So that I can work on updating in case of explorer view.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to differentiate file uploaded from explorer view in SharePoint 2013.
I made a test in my environment, both the two ways(“new document” or “Open with explorer” ) to upload document, the AfterProperties only contains two default field values(vti_parserversion and vti_filesize) in
ItemAdding method in event receiver.
There are two steps occur when uploading a file to document library, the file is uploaded in the first step, then the list item properties will be modified in the second step.
So, it is recommended to update the fields of document in ItemUpdating
method in event receiver.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

There are plenty of methods for putting a resume online, where a potential employer can download it, though admittedly the iPad is less flexible in this regard than a computer. Nobody ever has claimed otherwise. However, I get the feeling you're not actually looking for an answer to anything, and you're just posting to complain. Note that that is a violation of the Apple Support Communities Terms of Use, which you agreed to when signing up for an account here.

I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem.
