USB Speaker & USB Bluetooth Adapter Not Working

hi there,
my USB external speaker and USB bluetooth adapter (for my plantronics headset) is not working. I believe this had to do me removing a critical program (from add/remove programs) about half a year ago - i can no longer do a system recovery to retrieve the program. I'm currently operating on windows 7x64-bit. all drivers are up to date and working. the usb drives work fine - i've tried testing each slot by connecting my external mouse and all seems functional. it's only when i plug in the external speaker or usb bluetooth adapter that things go wrong - see screen shots below. my internal speaker and internal mic work perfectly fine. it appears to be only an issue with usb audio-related devices. these devices work with other systems and computers, so i know that it is not the device itself. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling conexant audio, but that did not work. i've gone into the device manager and all looks ok there. i've disabled and renabled, updated all drivers, and still nothing....any help would be much appreciated.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it pair/work in the new account?

I just recently (earlier today) upgraded to Yosemite 10.10 from Mavericks and now my USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter is not working. Well, the issue with USB anything is that the device manufacturers have to supply compatible drivers. Check with CableMatters for an updated driver.

USB to Parallel Cable Adapter not working with New PC and Windows 8.1

With the demise of parallel ports on PCs, I purchased a USB to Parallel cable adapter several years ago. I used this combination to successfully connect my Apple Laserwriter 16/600PS printer to my HP Pavilion Slimline s7600n PC (running Windows XP, SP3). I've decided to upgrade, I now have an HP Slimline s5-1020 PC running Windows 8.1. However, I cannot get the printer to printer properly. When the print command is executed, the printer spits out page after page of 1-line jibberish at the top of the page. This continues forever until either the paper runs out or I abort the document by opening the paper drawer. Only after full shutdown of both printer and computer and reboot of both will the printer clear itself of the corrupted print instruction.
The printer is also connected to an Apple MacIntosh 7200/120 computer via AppleTalk and it prints fine. Also, I reconnected the printer to my old Slimline s7600n computer and it prints perfectly. I have to assume that either new PC or OS is the source of the problem.
Any and all help/suggestions would be appreciated.

You have to go to the maufacturer site to check is there any Windows 8.1 driver for it. I know many cable/adapter vendors stopped to develope from Windows 7.

Looking for a common denominator: I'l start with wi-fi as the common communication medium.
Known:
A) Broken: iPhone —> wi-fi —> Mac.
B) Broken: iPhone —>USB—> Mac.
C) Broken: iPhone —> Bluetooth —> Mac.
D) Working: Mac —> USB —> other USB devices.
Unknowns:
E) Test Mac —> wi-fi —> a non-iPhone router.
F) Test iPhone —> wi-fi —> another wi-fi device.
Given not A, not B and not C either the Mac or the iPhone could be the culprit.
1) E        | F        : Non sequitur (deepens the mystery).
2) not E | F        : The Mac is the common denominator.
3) E        | not F : The iPhone is the common denominator.
4) not E | not F : All heck broke loose.
For case 1: It would be something on the Mac that prevents it talking to the iPhone through three media even though it can talk to other routers over wi-fi. That would be weird indeed, given the iPhone is talking to other wi-fi devices with no trouble.
For case 2: All of the Mac’s intranet media broken (wi-fi, Bluetooth, and wired-USB) and at least wi-fi works on the iPhone. Something weird is going on in the Mac.
For case 3: The iPhone router function is broken. Upgrade the iOS? Test using another iPhone?
For case 4: Throw everything in the trash and start over.

Bluetooth AR3011 not working SONY VAIO VPCA2S1E

my problem is that the built-in bluetooth does not work, however it works on ubuntu. (It did not work there when I installed it either. But I am not using it anyway, just checked if it is available now.)
So I checked which hardware I have and it is Atheros AR3011.
The necessary firmware is ath3k-1.fw, as stated here: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ath3k
I have found an aur package for it, but it wouldn't install, since it is installed already. OK, checked it out via package file list, the linuwfirmware has it, which is installed.
Do you know what I could do to make it work?
I am new to kernel or drivers so any -seemingly stupid thing- basic thing would be of help.
(I don't even know if it loaded, tried using modprobe too, but I think without any success, didn't get any output from it - and I am not sure how to use it.)

I have a ASUS Bluetooth USB dongle (USB-BT211) that uses the same Atheros AR3011 chip inside.
I've made this adapter work after this steps:
Be sure that your modules section on rc.conf don't load "automatically" the ath3k module.
Make sure that you have the ath3k module in the kernel ( ls -la /lib/firmware/ath* )(Probably you have if you are using a not too old kernel)
Then, load the module:
sudo moprobe ath3k
And, finally, insert the Bluetooth dongle.
Hummm, just after writing this I realized that you don't have a way to remove/insert. Hahahah
So you can try to remove the ath3k module after booting:
sudo modprobe -r ath3k
and after that, load the module again and see if it works.
If this don't work, paste here the "dmesg | tail" output and your kernel version. I'm not an expert in this thing but we can try some others way. Haha
By the way, I have installed the ath3k package from AUR, but I don't think that is necessary either. I will remove it and see if it works next boot.

Strange is, that i used it several times, it worked fine. Then wothout any reason (like software updete, etc) it just stopped workung, no sync.
I have not changed any parameters of my TV or Beamer.
Hardware:
Ipad 2, Apple Ipad HDMI Adapter, Samsung P2770FH, Optoma HD 65.

I've only used mine a couple of times without any problem, but due to the thinness of the iPad, care has to be taken in inserting the adapter. Slightly wrong angle and it won't go it.
I had a laptop a few years ago where the USB connector failed. I had it replaced under the warantee, The service man told me it was not an uncommom failure on a laptop due to people "torquing" the USB socket while inserting/removing USB items. I have much the same feeling when inserting either the charger cord or my HDMI adapter.
From your description, unless the HDMI adapter failed internally, it sounds like the socket is causing the problem. A few days ago we watch our first movie from the iPad via my ATV2 and "Air Play". Worked great so I don't plan on using the HDMI adapter much at all in the future. Yes, it is a $99 solution, but it works for me. Of course, I already had the ATV2. I doubt if I would buy one just for this abiliity. If nothing else, it seems like a trip to the Apple Genius bar is in order for maybe a replacement unit.
However, with iOS 5 coming out with supposedly total mirroring, it might be worth thinking about getting an ATV2.

Bluetooth is not working with Windows 8.1 on U410 touch

I have a Lenovo U410 touch, and i just upgraded to windows 8.1 though the store.
And the bluetooth is not working at all, it says that the PC is searching for Bluetooth devices. While everything was working great before.
I have updated all the drivers from the Lenovo websites and still nothing is working
I went to device manager and checked under bluetooth: Intel (R) Centrino Wireless Bluettoth 4.0 + High Speed. Microsoft Bluettoth Enumator, Microsoft Bluetooth LE enumarator all 3 are up to date.
Then I went to network connections (from the start) and i have a red cross under Bluettoth network connection 2 and says not connected.
My windows is also up to date
I really think gooing back to Windows 8 since i cannot listen to my music on my beatbox and connect to my phone and tablet,

I went to Control Panel > Devices and Printers and i tried to add a new device as the bluetooth doesn't appear this is what i got. By the way the bluetooth was on.

Microsoft teredo tunneling adapter not working

i have been facing this problem from about 3 days and I am not able to connect my phone through cable to my laptop neither i am able to use bluetooth...so I checked for the prblm and its this teredo adapter not working which is related to the devices i think....I
have followed every measure I could given by microsoft...I have tried uninstalling the teredo adapter but i couldn't...actually I clicked on the option dat was der as uninstall but it didn't....
after uninstalling only we had to restart the computer but since the uninstallation was not successfull so it didn;t helped me..

Bluetooth speakers not working on kindle fire HD 7...

I have a kindle fire HD 7" and bluetooth is not working for in-call audio
When the device is paired with my bluetooth speakers, the sounds of the volume changes and other gui clicks go out over the bluetooth speakers but the actual audio of the skype video call still go via the kindle's builtin speakers.
NOTES:
- I made sure to connect to bluetooth speaker before starting skype.
- Other applications are working with my bluetooth speakers (e.g. playing music, spotify radio, etc)

I have a reply from Amazon on this issue and have used the contact details they provided to contact Skype BUT with NO response!!!! Why oh why do Skype ignore its users??????

There is an explanation for this, however, I must warn you that it is a bit technical.
Apps on the Kindle Fire play audio through one channel which does support Bluetooth audio. Device sounds on the Kindle Fire play audio through a different channel which does not support Bluetooth.
Now the problem is that when the developers of Skype created Skype for Kindle Fire they routed the sound through the device sound channel opposed to the Apps channel.
This means that that Skype does not support Bluetooth speakers.
As the app was not developed by Amazon, you may want to contact the developer of the app, Skype Software, for product support and troubleshooting.

This is a brand new MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2012) just received. I suspect that this is a hardware problem as:
The mini-displayport to DVI adapter and the external monitor that I am utilizing connect and operate just fine using my older MacBook Pro (mid-2010) with the same OS.
The new MacBook Pro powers the external monitor with a mini-displayport to VGA adapater without issue.
The new MacBook Pro powers an Apple Thunderbolt display without issue.
Both MacBook Pro's are running OSX Lion 10.7.4.
The only combination which does not work is the mini-displayport to DVI adapater used in conjunction with the brand new MacBook Pro (mid-2012).
All adapters and components (mini-displayport adapters) are Apple retail adapter.
I have tried several external monitors, including my Dell U2412m.
When I connect the mini-displayport to DVI adapater to the new MacBook Pro (mid-2012), nothing happens. The external monitor reports "no signal" and attempts to go into sleep mode. Using the "Detect displays" button has no effect, even when used multiple times. Rebooting does not help, nor does resetting the SMC or PRAM.
Any other suggestions before I take it to the Genius Bar?

I turns out that the logic board of my MacBook Pro was faulty (despite being brand new).
I took it to the Apple Store, presented the problem, and one of the Tech's came to the same conclusion that I had -- hardware failure. Phone support was no help in the matter (and even told me that what I was trying to do wasn't a supported option, which is rediculous). However, the Genius Bar did take care of the problem, and my MacBook Pro was back to me with a replaced logic board within a few days.
