USB to ADB adapter

The mouse on my 6500/300 developed an intermittent fault in its cable which means the keyboard freezes until I can wiggle the mouse cable into just the right position for it to unfreeze then freeze again.
I bought a Logitech USB Trackball which works fine very the USB 1.1 card I have in one of my PowerMac's PCI slots. However the trackball will only work after all USB extentions have booted so I can't use it if I need to boot from a boot disk in an emergency.
With the Logitech trackball device came an adapter. Female USB one end and male PS/2 at the other. This enables the trackball pointer to be plugged into an old PS/2 keyboard.
Does anyone know where I may get a similar adapter for ADB keyboard? I've seen plenty of devices for ADB pointers to USB computers but not the other way around. Alternatively has anyone got one that they don't use and wouldn't mind passing on?

My USB trackball comes with an adaptor that enables its USB (male) plug to be connected into the older PS/2 type PC keyboard input, useful for older PCs that don't have any USB ports.
The adapter I do have is only a small device. Smaller than the iMate, being one piece, 5cm long at most, and is USB (female) one end, PS/2 (male) the other. The iMate appears to be ADB (Male) to USB (Male).

The adapter I need will be as for the PC above but to ADB instead of PS/2. (i.e. for a Mac that only has an ADB keyboard port).
I know what you mean about these newer Mac keyboards. I'm constantly having to go back inserting letters that I have missed because the key seems to stick sightly when I'm typing (that should have read 'slightly' by the way). I suspect that 'moving parts' in the keys are a type of plastic moving past plastic rather than metal moving past metal. At least that is what the feel and touch of them seem like to me.

K7N2 Delta-ILSR - USB to Serial Adapter Doesn't Work!

Is anyone aware of an error such as the follows with the K7N2 Delta-ILSR?
I am trying the use a USB to Serial Adapter, namely the a Prolific PL-2303.
However, my PC does not seem to like it, nor does it what to cooperate with it at all.
On one occasion i have managed to get the device to show in the Manager window with the exclamation mark,
and upon checking its properties it told me: Prolific This device cannot start. (Code 10).
I have un-installed all my system USB drivers and the device drivers, and reinstalled them, but again, no matter what i do i cannot get it to work.
Any ideas peeps?

Don't think it will this time, but on occassions booting into SafeMode and removing possibly half-installed copies of USB devices from Device Manager has helped.

...How many times have I said that, if a USB device needs a driver you install that before attaching the device!?

How efficient is it to hook up a monitor to my macbook pro with a usb to vga adapter

I want to hook up a secondary monitor to my comouter by using a usb to vga adapter. However I have read that it may be really slow. Is this true? I already have a monitor connected via my thunderbolt port to hdmi.

Lenovo X131e doesn't work with Prolific PL2303 based USB to Serial Adapter and Windows 7 x64

This is sort of a bug report. A Lenovo X131e with Windows 7 x64 and the PL2303 driver including 1.6, 1.61 and 1.7 will not successfully install the driver - Windows always reports "Driver Install Failed" on plug in to USB 3 or USB2 ports. However, putting a USB2.0 hub inbetween the USB to Serial Adapter and either USB port type makes the adapter work fine. This was not the case with the X130e. I'm not sure where to report this beyond this posting, but more of an FYI.

Don't plug Serial Adapter when installing the driver,
Ofter installation, Connect serial adapter to see whether it is working normally.

Mobilemate usb card reader adapter worked well in Macbk pro. suddenly stopped showing up as a device in finder-it is listed as a device in utilities- how do I get it to show up again?

Can anyone tell me how to get my mobilemate sandisk usb card reader adapter to show up in the finder as a device? Card is good and the adapter was working fine until my boyfriend tried to get it to work in a photo frame. When I plugged it back into my mac bk pro it is not recognized in the finder.
It does show up in the utilities as a usb device.
Does not show up as it had before in Image Capture or Iphoto.
LIke I said it was working in this computer no problem. light is on as if it is reading. card is not locked.

I reformated the disk with an applecare rep this morning. it did not correct the problem.
the card works fine when I insert it directly.
Just trying to find out why the adapter no longer shows up in the finder when it did previously- yesterday.
This is a usb device. Device shows up in system profiler.

HP Laserjet 4100 and Belkin USB Parallel Printer Adapter

I'm a brand new Mac user. I wanted to connect my Mac to my existing HP Laserjet 4100 printer. To do that, I had to purchase a Belkin USB Parallel Printer Adapter. I saw that Mac wasn't supported by this adapter, so I called Belkin and they said it was supported. Tried to set it up and failed. Called Apple for help, was on the phone for quite a long time, and no luck. Went to HP site to load drivers, and no luck. I contacted HP online and was told this product is no longer supported.
So right now when I try to print, I get a message that says the printer is offline...but it's not. Anyone have any ideas for a workaround?

I think you should be a little more patient in trying to find a solution. I have an HP Laserjet 4ML from 1992 that I still use every day.
In my case, I purchased an HP Jetdirect external parallel print server and have the printer connected to my router that way.
You may also want to power off the printer, reset Printing System, and then power on the printer and re-Add it in Print & Fax.

HP laserjet 1200 using windows7. My computer has USB ports, but no parallel port, so the computer is cabled to the printer with a usb to parallel adapter. Sometimes works fine, sometimes system states printer as ready, but will not print. Reboot hardware and on restart, I got one page to print. Next attempt to print puts the document in cue, but just sits there -- no error message. Finally, after multiple restarts, I got it to print (have no idea how), but now I had to print 20 pages one page at a time. It will not print more than one page, even if I select to print 20. Next time I start the computer I don't know if the printer will print. Do you need to use the same USB port each time, Or are the USB to parallel adapters undependable?

Unfortunately, parallel to USB adapters can be undependable. Other than a new printer, I'm not sure what would provide you with a fix for this problem. You might try another adapter if you have one, but if that still doesn't work I would look into a printer that your computer could support.

External hard drive not working in USB multi-port adapter

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion...I got a new My Passport Essential portable external hard-drive. I have a Belkin multi (4) USB adapter and when I plug the hard-drive in, it won't recognize it. It only works if I directly plug it into one of the two USB ports on my computer. Does anyone know of a USB multi-port adapter that would have sufficient power for me to plug my hard-drive into it? The cord is too big and bulky to plug it into my other USB port on my laptop with the adapter in place, so I either have to get another adapter or try another external hard-drive.

Please refer to this How to Geek article.
Win 8.1 no longer supports a graphical interface for backing up files or creating system images. You must use powershell or Win 8.1's reset/refresh options.
You can also create custom refresh images. Please see this article. The instructions also work with Win 8.1.
You would have to use third party backup software for backing up files and folders.

USB Skype Phone Adapter - How to use it?

Hello everyone,
I would like to ask regarding USB Skype Phone Adapter, as I am planning to buy it. But, before I buy it I would like to know if I can still use skype to call locally using the land phone line (since it's by contract, and local calls are all free). Can I use the skype keypad to make those calls? Can I have access to my land phone line through skpye to make local calls, even though I might use it from a different country through skype? Please help me with issue. Thank you very much in advance!

First of all, you seem to be using some custom classes as there is no table and no SimpleTableModel in Java ME.
That said,
The simpleTableModel is already attached to the tableSo when you assign the variable reference tableModel1 to a new object, it is the earlier referred object that is still 'attached' to the table, not the newly constructed one.

I recently received the Toshiba Tablet AT300SE. This newer tablet no longer has the HMDI connection port. However it has the micro USB. My question is, can I use this micro USB to connect to my TV using the micro a USB to HDMI adapter?

I'm trying to hook up an additional external monitor to my MacBook Pro using a USB-to-VGA adapter. I don't need any kind of graphics acceleration.

Your Mac came with a DVI to VGA adapter. Why do you need a USB one, when the DVI one is faster and more reliable?

Stupid question really - I'll just do a search...

USB to HDMI adapter for external display in clamshell mode?

Hello.
Does anyone know of a USB to HDMI (or DVI) adapter so that I can connect an external display (with an HDMI or DVI cable) to a USB port on my Macbook air?
I need to run it in clamshell mode, mirroring the Air display. The Monoprice USB to HDMI adapter (which uses DislplayLink drivers) I tried does not work properly in clamshell mode with mirroring (though it works in arrangement mode). I know I can use the Thunderbolt port, but I need to leave this free for a Firewire device.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem, but using USB devices and Displaylink software. I know there are issues with Displaylink software as they say the problem is with Apple. I have three external monitors with a late 2008 I Macbook Pro which gives me four screens. I was able to get two to work + the Macbook, but there were so many issues, like you described, that I have given up and I am just using the Mini Display port which gives me one external and the Macbook. Looks like we will just have to wait until Apple does something. I have found no other solutions at this point - hardware or otherwise.
