USB to HDMI

Although I have an HDMI to Thunderbolt adaptor for my MacBook Pro I am interested in hooking up to a projector/display at our local library.  The display has a USB and a HDMI input.
The HDMI/Thunderbolt port works but I wish to have a USB to HDMI cable hookup as a backup.
I have done some searching on the internet but what I find is Micro USB.  I find no standard male USB to female HDMI.
Can anyone provide a suggestion?

Video isn't output through USB. You can use the HDMI port if your Mac has one, or the Thunderbolt port also doubles as a minidisplayport.

  • AT300SE - Connect to TV using MHL micro usb to hdmi adapt

    Hi,
I recently received the Toshiba Tablet AT300SE. This newer tablet no longer has the HMDI connection port. However it has the micro USB. My question is, can I use this micro USB to connect to my TV using the micro a USB to HDMI adapter?
Has anyone ever done this and made it work?
    Thanks,
    Nick

  • USB to HDMI adapter for external display in clamshell mode?

    Hello.
Does anyone know of a USB to HDMI (or DVI) adapter so that I can connect an external display (with an HDMI or DVI cable) to a USB port on my Macbook air?
I need to run it in clamshell mode, mirroring the Air display. The Monoprice  USB to HDMI adapter (which uses DislplayLink drivers) I tried does not work properly in clamshell mode with mirroring (though it works in arrangement mode).  I know I can use the Thunderbolt port, but I need to leave this free for a Firewire device.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem, but using USB devices and Displaylink software.  I know there are issues with Displaylink software as they say the problem is with Apple.  I have three external monitors with a late 2008  I Macbook Pro which gives me four screens.  I was able to get two to work + the Macbook, but there were so many issues, like you described, that I have given up and I am just using the Mini Display port which gives me one external and the Macbook.  Looks like we will just have to wait until Apple does something.  I have found no other solutions at this point - hardware or otherwise.

  • Displayport /USB to HDMI adapter compatibility under the Bootcamp

I read that the Displayport/ USB to HDMI adapter works well with Apple but has anyone tested within Windows environment under Bootcamp? Are there drivers that support the adapter already?

Usually, A *[USB to HDMI Adapter|http://www.espow.com/wholesale-usb-multi-display-adapter-for-computer-a dd-on-a-second-monitor.html]* can work in MacBook/Windows OS.. You just need to download the usb display adapter driver.. • Micro USB to HDMI adapter support on Encore 2 WT8-B-102

I would like to know, if there is any chance to connect this tablet to TV/Monitor through the micro usb port by attaching a micro usb to HDMI adapter? If yes, is there any specific adapter being compatible with this Tablet device?
    Thanks for the support
    Alex

First of all it’s not possible to use USB port (micro USB) in order to output the video signal. The USB port does not support such functionality.
According to the tablet's specification page the WT8-B does not support video out interface (HDMI etc..) and therefore it's not possible to connect it directly to the TV device.

  • MAC 5.1 audio USB to HDMI surround

Hi - Anybody know how to connect any MAC 5.1 audio USB to HDMI surround - which connectors would be needed. Realize latest mini display port would
do it, but not everyone has one. I want for anyone's computer to output 5.1 to surround system. Magic if you know what connectors required...

I know it's nearly a year later, but I am having almost the exact same issue that you were having reconfig2501.  It seems to still be present on Premiere Pro CC (2014) on Windows 8.1.  It's great that Premiere is allowing 5.1 audio tracks, but how am I supposed to preview the 5.1 audio on my timeline?  If I am editing for HD Broadcast that supports 5.1 channel audio, I shouldn't have to export to ac3 and burn a Blu-Ray/DVD just to preview the 5.1 audio.

  • A3500-F A7-50 usb to hdmi cable

    Hi
I bought a a3500-f tablet yesteday and want to stream video from the tablet to the smart tv by usb to hdmi cable but i have just heard that that is not possible...is this true and i was told at the shop that i could do this
    thanks

The A3500 doesn't support HDMI or MHDL.  You're can use Chromecast.  I'm not sure whether or not the A3500 supports Miracast, but that might be an option too.

  • USB powered HDMI to AV convertor getting power from AppleTV USB?

    Hi,
I have bought a AppleTV and a Mini White HDMI to AV CVBS Video Converter Adapter 1080P KIT so that I can use my AppleTV with my older non-HDMI television. This is what I bought:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-White-HDMI-to-AV-CVBS-Video-Converter-Adapter-108 0P-KIT-FORTV-PC-PS3-DVD-/221151573187?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160
As you can see in the pictures it requires power from a mini USB cable. I have a mains to usb plug that I can power it with but I was wondering if I could instead hook up the 2 devices with a mini usb to mini usb cable so that the convertor would get its power from the AppleTV. Would that work? Or would it fry the AppleTV and maybe both devices or would the AppleTV just not supply power at all out of its mini usb port. I know it is only intended for maintenance with iTunes.
I have found mini to mini usb cables on ebay:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-White-HDMI-to-AV-CVBS-Video-Converter-Adapter-108 0P-KIT-FORTV-PC-PS3-DVD-/221151573187?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160
    So what do you reckon?

I honestly don't know, but I suspect AppleTV does not have a powered USB port and is more like a peripheral (eg ext 2.5" USB drive) that draws power from a computer or hub.
Another potential problem is that ages ago I read that due to the very close proximity of USB and HDMI sockets it may not be physically possible to have both connected at the same time.

  • Connecting Micro USB and HDMI cables at the same time

I need to be able to use a Micro USB and HDMI cable at the same time to configure ATV to connect to WPA2-Enterprise secure WiFi network.  I'm using Apple Configurator to do this.  Because of the poor hardware design, it isn't possible to connect both the Micro USB and HDMI cables at the same time.  Does anyone have a worrkaround to resolving this issue?
I saw a similar post about this problem in the forums dating back to April 2013 with no real solution.  It's been over a year now and I'm hoping someone has found a workaround to this problem.  I have a bunch of ATVs that I need to configure for our classrooms.
    Thanks!

For what reason do you believe this is necessary?

  • Do they make usb to hdmi cords?

I want to hook my macbook up to stream on my flat creen tv. My mac does not have a hdmi hook up.  Do they make usb to hdmi cords?

If you connect the MacBook using a MiniDVI/HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a stereo system for audio. The Mini-DVI/HDMI doesn't carry audio and there's no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
If your TV has a DVI plug you can use a Mini-DVI/DVI adapter. The TV will have RCA audio plugs for use with the DVI.
    http://store.apple.com/us/search?find=Mini-DVI+to+DVI&mco=MTA4MzI5MDI
The Mini-DVI adapters are for Pre 2008 MacBooks. The newer ones use Mini Display Port adapters. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier. Post that number back here and we can tell you which adapter to use.

  • Triple monitor with intel and SenseVision Club 3d usb to hdmi adapter

    Hi,
I have an all in one machine with a single intel VGA:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v2/3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
I also have an external monitor which works fine. I would like to use a third monitor through the SenseVision Club 3d usb to hdmi adapter (Chipset: DL-195).
    http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/produc … apter.html
I'm using the udlfb module with the option: fb_defio=1
The monitor attached to the usb to hdmi adapter turns green when the machine starts.
The problem is that I'm able to use only one adapter at the time. So I can use the integrated monitor and the external one attached to the intel VGA or the monitor attached to the usb to hdmi adapter but not all of them together.
    Here is my xorg.conf:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "intel"
    Driver "intel"
    # BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "dl1"
    Driver "fbdev"
    # BusID "PCI:0:3:0"
    Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb1"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "monitor0"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "monitor1"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "monitor2"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "screen0"
    Device "dl1"
    Monitor "monitor0"
    #DefaultDepth 16
    #DefaultDepth 24
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "screen1"
    Device "intel"
    Monitor "monitor1"
    #DefaultDepth 16
    DefaultDepth 24
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "screen2"
    Device "intel"
    Monitor "monitor2"
    #DefaultDepth 16
    DefaultDepth 24
    EndSection
    Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "multihead"
    Screen 0 "screen0" 0 0
    Screen 1 "screen0" LeftOf "screen1"
    Screen 2 "screen1" LeftOf "screen2"
    Option "Xinerama" "on"
    EndSection
Switching the screen0 and screen1 positions in the xorg.conf makes work the intel vga. The current configuration enables only the usb monitor. The screen2 is discarded by the xorg stating that none monitor is attached to the device.
I also tried to tinker with the BusID values. Specifying BusID "USB" makes the xorg crash.
Is it possible at all to use three monitors at the time with the current state of art? Any success story with this setting?
Could you please share your working xorg.conf if you have any?
    Any suggestion?
    Thank you very much.

    Apparently yes,
    According to the thread:
To restore to the old behaviour, put this in your ~/.drirc:
    <driconf>
      <device screen="0" driver="i915">
        <application name="Default">
          <option name="vblank_mode" value="0" />
        </application>
      </device>
    </driconf>
But I don't come back to the same perfs as before (tested with eternal lands).
I noticed that in my /var/log/Xorg.0.log:
    (WW) intel(0): Register 0x61200 (PP_STATUS) changed from 0xc0000008 to 0xd0000009
(WW) intel(0): PP_STATUS before: on, ready, sequencing idle
(WW) intel(0): PP_STATUS after: on, ready, sequencing on
(WW) intel(0): Register 0x71024 (PIPEBSTAT) changed from 0x00020202 to 0x00020000
    (WW) intel(0): PIPEBSTAT before: status: VBLANK_INT_ENABLE VSYNC_INT_STATUS VBLANK_INT_STATUS
(WW) intel(0): PIPEBSTAT after: status: VBLANK_INT_ENABLE
There seem to be some problem with mtrr
I found this problem which seems related but I only have 2GB of memory

  • Thunderbolt or USB to HDMI.  How do I do it?

I bought my MacBook Pro in spring, 2011.  It does not have an HDMI port.  It has USB, Thunderbolt, Firewire, and Ethernet.  What can I purchase to convert to an HDMI so I can display video on my HDTV through my MacBook Pro?  Is it possible?
