USB2DVI adaptor window refresh problem

Good evening together, I am experiencing strange issue with the Lenovo USB2DVI adaptor connected to a 24" Lenovo monitor. The screen is recognised without problems and displays the running programs without problems. There are 2 so far identified exceptions, though: Visual Studio 2010 Mozilla Firefox Moving these two programs to the screen driven from the USB, there are some serious issues with window refresh (it is never complete). Maximising the program window can lead up to the total lost of control over that program (task manager kill is from time to time necessary). I can observe the same issue on two different Lenovo notebooks (albeit with the same USB2DVI device). Would anyone know what is going on? The driver is up to date. Thanks, Lubos

hmm dell would only launch X using the intel drivers and I"m having the same problem with compiz fusion that you had.  My windows don't update themselves.  It's quite frustrating.

  • Composite windows manager window refresh problem

Hello, I'm a very satisfied user of Arch Linux, and I would like to say it is la creme de la creme (the best) distribution for users that wish to control their system (and not vice versa).
However, recently, I had some strange problems with compiz fusion, beryl, and even xcompmgr. I'm using xorg from testing, I do not have a xorg.conf, and I have a GMA 3100 IGP. Compiz fusion was working correctly, without xorg.conf, and after I did the upgrade to kernel 2.6.23 (the day the package was put online), compiz-fusion started to have quite weird problems. It is not kernel related, I compiled my own 2.6.23 kernel, then a 2.6.22.9, and it just did not work as expected.
When I move windows, decoration and the window is just fine. However, the windows stop refreshing (I have to shade the window to refresh it), and when I scale it (not the compiz plugin), the decoration and the window just stretches, and then it refreshes sometimes. I was not able to do a decent video capture of my screen, but I hope the description gives you an idea of the problem. I tried with a xorg.conf, setting xaa acceleration, setting "XAANoOffscreenPixmap" xorg.conf option, adding my user into the video group using gpasswd, and I must admit, it changes nothing.

Oh, I forgot to tell that compiz outputs no error messages.
Also, I find it weird that xorg uses the i810 driver, as I only have the "intel" driver installed.

hmm dell would only launch X using the intel drivers and I"m having the same problem with compiz fusion that you had.  My windows don't update themselves.  It's quite frustrating.

  • Window refreshing problem in Mail 2

    Hi all,
when I open a message, it appears truncated. The "hidden" part becomes visible only after I have resized the window, or after I have checked "Long Headers". This seems to appear only (?) for multi-part messages in MIME format.
Any idea of what's going on?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Just found this on the broken Search...
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080201111317585
I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, Reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
At least if it doesn't fix it, it'll eliminate a few questions.

  • EA3 - SQL History window refresh problem

Hi, I have noticed that version 1.2 (possibly farther back) up to and including 1.5 EA3 have a issue with refreshing the SQL history window in a special scenario.
If the tab is completely undocked from SQL developer and then expanded across two monitors, as I scroll down the parts of the data rows on the non-primary monitor are not refreshed and become jagged.
I am running SQL developer on Win XP SP2 with whatever version of Java came with EA3.

Thanks, that seemed to work. It looks like Java is painting the grid in two parts now, with the non-default monitor side being second, but at least it repaints.
As far as a default, I did already have the following option in the config file:
    AddVMOption -Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen=false
I don't what difference the -J option makes but that's what I had. Thanks again.

  • Screen refresh problem with Windows 7

    Hello all,
I've recently begun testing Oracle with Windows 7 on a new HP 2540p notebook computer. I've encountered a very strange issue so far. After logging into Oracle, and Windows switches to Windows Basic theme, I should be taken to the main Navigator screen. But instead, the screen is simply white. If I drag (or nudge) the title bar just a bit, the screen refreshes and I can see the menu items. Then if I click on something (or even use hotkeys - ALT+F to get the file menu, for example), I don't see anything happen. But if I move the window just a bit, the screen refreshes and I can see that it did actually take my input, it just didn't re-draw the screen. I'm wondering if this may be a graphics driver issue (I do have the latest driver for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD adapter), or if someone could point me toward a resolution to this problem. Any help is much appreciated.

    Dear All,
Same problem of REFRESH PROBLEM also faced by but only a single and specific Windows 7 client.
if you have resolved the issue , so please share with us.
    Thanks
    Eidy

  • Window Refreshes when I hover mouse over pdf file

I have Reader 9 (but the problem happens no matter what version I've tried to install), any time my mouse hovers over a pdf file the windows explorer window refreshes, if I select the file it refreshes and everything is unselected, if I have scrolled to the bottom of the window and even hover over a pdf file, it refreshes and I'm back at the top of the list.
However, if I select a file it refreshes and then I select that file again, it is fine. It must have something to do with the preview therefore.
    Thanks for your help.

The answers are always so simple. Now, if only I could figure out why I couldn't figure out (or find) the answer myself....
I thank you very much Dave

  • Refresh problem with dreamweaver cs5.5

Hello,  I hope someone can help out soon with my problem. We currently have a great running site that is hosted OFFSITE. Our programmer built a new site which is the one having the refresh problems with.  It's hosted on an ON-SIGHT server . thank you
    Problem:
Sometimes randomly, but almost always when opening other pages, DW freezes for about 5-10 seconds, sometimes crashing (presumably when it takes longer).
It occurs whether changes are made to files or not. I'm using split view it happens mostly whien trying to click something in code view at top.
    Test Results:
I was able to consistently reproduce the problem when opening files in the directory.
I was unable to reproduce the problem when opening multiple Include files (that do not use templates).
    Thoughts:
Is there something in the template causing the refresh problem?
Something in the new website page source, or in their shared template, may be loading from a (slow) external resource.
    Something in the DW settings?
    HELP THANK YOU

Could you post a screen capture of your File > New dialogue window when you choose it from the menu?
Page From Template should be an option on the far left if I recall correctly (it has been changed in newer versions, but I think 5.5 still used this method). You won't see it in the Welcome Screen or if you hit Ctrl +N. You have to use the menu option to select New...
You should then be presented with a list of sites, when the site is chosen, the templates should show in the middle column.
Or are you saying your template isn't showing when you choose the Page From Template option and select the site?

  • Odd window redraw problem...

This just starting happening so I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.
In Dreamweaver CS5, I normally work on a few pages at a time, all in tabs and I use split screen to see the code and design. Now, if I'm on one tab and then click on another tab to switch to that page, it does switch, but the window goes grey until I click a second time on the tab, then the window refreshes and I can see the content.
I'm attaching an image of what it looks like when I say the screen is grey:
Then on the second click, my window redraws to this (I had to blur the content):
I can't seem to find a setting that would have done this and the only change I've made to the system is clear the font cache, but I can't imagine how that would affect it.
    Any help would be great.

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode and see if the problem still occurs?
    Restart holding the "shift" key.
(Expect it to take longer to start this way because it runs a directory check first.)
If this works look in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login items and delete any third party login items (-), you can always add them back with the (+). Also look in /Library/Startup Items. Nothing is put in that folder by default, so anything in there is yours.

  • Console Refresh Problem

    Hi All,
I have a minor, but annoying refresh issue in the SCVMM console.
I have one particular hyper-v cluster which for which the console is unable to refresh the overview, the wheel spins forever.  The daily & monthly performance portions refresh ok.  This only happens for one cluster and is irrespective of the
user and machine the console is running from.
    Any input appreciated.

    Hi,
normally to find out why it is stuck a ETL trace is needed from the VMM Server. There aren't any known issues in Windows Server 2012 R2 OS and SCVMM 2012R2 combination as far as I know regarding the refresh problem. Are there any hints on the VMM Server
like failed Jobs regarding this problem ? Additionally did you check the Cluster Nodes VMM Event Logs ?

  • How to format windows 8 without CD, when Windows refresh and remove doesnt responding?

I have a problem with my windows 8 - suddenly C driver turns to NTFS and Windows Refresh or Remove does not working.
How can I perform format without windows cd?

    Hi OrMas,
Are you sure to perform a format ? You will lose all the data in the drive after you performed a format.
“suddenly C driver turns to NTFS”
What is the exact issue? Do you mean the original format of the C drive is FAT32 or other formats except the NTFS format ?

  • MBP retina display refresh problems

My MacBook Pro Retina Display laptop is having display refresh issues. hard to explain whats going on, but its basicly lagging. When I open a new window, not everything shows up, sometimes only a button will show up. If the whole window does show up and I try to move it, the frame will be ghosted where every I move it. The only way I found to fix this is to restart the computer.
    Its completely updated
I tried turning off the automatic graphics switching

Yes I have a gripe at the trend in Apple design towards a sealed box design. I don't care about batteries bieng selad in or screens being fused to the lid but I do want to choose upgrade RAM later and HD later. I also would like to have a desktop replacement mobile workstation with options of 2GB of KQuadro 1000 or 2000 and of adding up to 32GB of RAM. This is not advanced tech but readily available from two leading windows vendors.
I prefer to stay with Apple as its customer care and quality control is superior. However, I cannot buy such an expensive computer with so little upgrade potential and merely 1GB of VRAM. I agree the Retina display is wonderful but very few of my clients will ever use one to see my content.
HP has come out with a modular design for their Z820 towers and mobile workstations which are well up to Apple standards. Their customer support is not and that's why I'd like to stay with Apple.
I am merely griping about the closed box approach and I am not alone amongst the content creators who kept Apple afloat before it dropped computer from its name. I merely want to choose when I upgrade my RAM and HD and choose the GPU on a top of the line PRO laptop. Is that really asking too much? Why would Apple not want my custom anymore? Why do you think it's just griping? I could reply: do you accept everything you are given?
We should be on the same side. I have bought Apple computers for years and my studio has a fleet of Mac Pros and more.
    dosers wrote:
There are no USB 2 or 3 connections problems I know of - or that I have noticed. Dull Screens? Yellow Tinged? First I hear of it. Do you just have a gripe that you can't order 32GB Ram with it (show me a windows system in even close to the same package / dimensions that does) or some other video card?
If there is a refresh problem, it seems to be limited at this point.

  • Smartview 11.1.2.1.102 Refresh problems

I have multiple users experiencing severe refresh problems after upgrading to smartview version 11.1.2.1.102.
Users state Refresh is taking 10-15mins+ when in old version 9x it only takes 1-2mins. In addition users have rebuilt the excel files (copy in new workbook) then all is working fine but when saved/the next day the refresh goes very slow again!
    Please can any help?

    1. Deleting the Sheet Info fixes the problem for the moment - but the problem soon returns. Do you know what causes the problem, so we can cut the repeating cycle? Is this strictly a multi-user issue? We do have several users that may use the file. Some have version 11.1.2.1.000 (not 103). Oracle's tips doc (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-tips-issues-73-102-1612164.pdf) mentions uncompressed metadata stored in the worksheet.
    2. Is there a specific version that allows the Sheet Info fix? Oracle's tip sheet says they need Some have version 11.1.2.1.103, but the users we have seen so far can use this workaround on Some have version 11.1.2.1.000. I'd like to know when at what version this fix starts so I can push other users to update. It would be good to know at which version this issue starts.
Thank you - great information in the thread!
    P.S. for reference:
    From http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-tips-issues-73-102-1612164.pdf
In EPM System Release 11.1.2.1, I am opening .xls files with Smart View functions in Excel 2010, but it’s very slow or seems to freeze Excel. How can I fix this?
This is most likely due to an issue with uncompressed metadata stored in the workbook. In most cases, the issue can be found in the first sheet in hidden shapes. Note that the file will open but it may take a very long time, and in some cases the file will open fine with Smart View disabled. In other cases it will not matter. To solve this problem, save a copy of the file and follow the steps below for the version of Smart View you have.
If you are using Smart View 11.1.2.1.103 or above, follow these steps:
1 Open the file (this may take a while) with Smart View enabled.
2 From the Smart View Ribbon, select Sheet Info.
3 Select Delete Smart View Info.
4 Select Workbook and all Sheet Info.
    174 Miscellaneous and Product-Specific Tips
    5 Click OK.
    6 Save the modified workbook.
    7 Reopen the workbook.
If you are not using Smart View 11.1.2.1.103 or above, follow these steps:
1 Open the file (this may take a while).
2 Right-click on the tab of the first worksheet and select Select All Sheets.
3 Right-click on the tab of the first worksheet and select Move or Copy.
4 In the drop-down box, select (new book) and check Create a Copy.
    5 Save the workbook.
    6 Open the new workbook.
    7 Refresh the data.
