Use 15 in. Retina Display with iPad

Is it possible to use an iPad as a second monitor with a 15 inch MacBook Pro with retina display?

I'm wondering if any of these Apps will work with the MacBook Pro. Looks like they should.
Since they work over Wireless, I doubt you would want to use them for fast action gaming, but as a second disply for regular things it might be handy (pallets, calendars, documents, web pages...)
iDisplay
Air Display
Splashtop XDisplay
(there may be more, I stopped here).

  • IPad Air is Awesome - But how will i afford it ? Need an exchange offer for iPad with Retina Display to iPad Air in India

I have a iPad with retina display with me. We require an exchange offer for the new iPad Air in india.

Sell your iPad retina and use that money to offset the cost of a new iPad air.
And if your iPad retina works fine for your uses now, why not just wait - odds are there will be an iPad Air II or something new within a year or less anyway - any consumer electronic device gets replaced with a newer model in very short order anyway.  If you try to always have the very latest and greatest, you'll go broke (or nuts, or both).

  • I have an A5X chip iPad with retina display with AppleCare . If my iPad broke would apple replace it with the updated iPad with retina display?

I have an A5X chip iPad with retina display with AppleCare+ . If my iPad broke would apple replace it with the updated iPad with retina display that has the A6X chip?

They will replace your "broken" iPad with an iPad of equal type .... so NO, they will not replace it with a new iPad 4th generation. They will actually replace your "broken" iPad with a refurb, not a new one.

  • I am using Mac book pro non retina display with Yosemite and it is taking time to on the Mac . Please suggest me

    hi,
i am using Mac book pro with non retina display with latest software yosemitte. When I on the Mac it is taking much time to on the mac / to get main screen. Please suggest us if any option to make it fast

There are several things that could make the computer run slower than expected
or slower than previously experienced from time to time; if a new system was
installed into a computer with slowness and other issues, that may compound the
problem since an upgrade to an OS X is not necessarily a remedy for old trouble.
If the issue may be a performance concern, there are cause and effect reasons
behind computer functionality. And if the computer was super quick, then after
an upgrade to a newer OS X, super slow, there could be several things going on.
The software previously working in the computer may not be correct for a newest
operating system; or the computer hard disk drive may be getting too full of content
that has no relation to the function of the device. Not enough unused storage space
or capacity can contribute to an overall slowness. And this also would relate to the
computer's use of resources. More installed chip RAM can help a computer run
better, and if you have extensive saved content in the computer you made, get an
externally enclosed hard drive and see about how to go & move that accumulation
off the computer's limited space so it could run better.

There may also be adware or other kinds of malware inadvertently installed in your
computer; so that is something else to consider, find & remove. Note info in guides.
You could use the Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder (see Go in Finder menu) to
see if there are applications or processes running extensively that could point to
some waste of system resources. If there is something actually using anything at all
out of the ordinary. These kinds of things are hard to judge - if you aren't familiar.
So, anyway, hopefully you can get some ideas from the above site pages to help.
    Good luck & happy computing!

Hello. I have iPad, new one, unpacked.
but unfortunately I lost my check
Can I exchange my iPad for another one with retina display with extra payment?

Did you purchase it at an Apple Store?  If so, then you should be able ot have them look up the receipt in their system.  If you purchased it at another store, check their policies.  IIRC, Best Buy allows you to exchange items without a reciept, but they won't refund without one.  Other stores may have other policies.

Hi I have just bought a new Mac Book Pro 15" Retina display with 256 SSD and 8G RAM. I had my info transferred form my Previous Mac Book Pro late 2011 to this machine. When trying to download Mavericks it says it cannot be loaded onto this machine? Strange as I have just downloaded Pages, Numbers and Keynote...free? Thanks and Regards

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You already have got OS X Mavericks installed (the Keynote, Pages and Numbers versions available in the Mac App Store are only compatible with OS X Mavericks).
You have got a Late 2013 MacBook Pro, which uses a special OS X Mavericks version that is not available in the Mac App Store. This is the reason why the Mac App Store is not compatible with OS X Mavericks even if you are using it. This will be fixed in OS X 10.9.1, when your Mac uses the same Mavericks version as all other Macs.
Until then, you can reinstall OS X through OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718

  • Playing xbox 360 on macbook pro 15 inch retina display with hdmi

Is it possible to be able to plug my xbox360 into my macbook pro 15 inch retina display with the hdmi cable and then play it on my computer because i have an hdmi cable and dont want to go buy the eye tv for another $150 and if it's not possible does anyone know of another way for me to be able to play my xbox360 on it

No. The HDMI port on the MBP-R is an output port used to send images to an external monitor, not an input port.
As far as I know, the only Mac that has ever had a video input capability is the iMac. Some years' models have had the ability to act as a monitor for another computer. I don't have one, but it doesn't look like current iMacs offer this feature (based on a quick skim of the Apple Store pages).

  • Will we see a retina display on iPad?

The next iPad will no doubt have a gyroscope, and probably a camera and facetime. But will we see a retina display on iPad in the next or even third or fourth gen? By my calculation, you'd need something like 23xx by 17xx resolution to get 300 dpi on the same screen size. It's probably prohibitively expensive with current tech.
As nice as the iPad screen is, I picked up a real magazine today and realize wow the iPad is still very far away from print quality, if Steve jobs can put a retina display in the next iPad, THAT would be revolutionary.

I don't think you even need to speculate on this to see it's very very very unlikely.
So the iPad display is 1024x768 and is 9.7" diagonal, right? So... what... you think Apple is going to be able to incorporate a 3072x2302 9.7" display panel AND bump up the CPU power enough to push all those pixels around? Guess what... Mac Pros ten times the volume and weight of an iPad would have trouble with that, and each of those superdense panels (assuming one can even be built) would cost thousands of dollars. Not to mention that even if you could physically fit all that in an iPad sized form factor, you'd still have to dissipate all the heat the processing would generate.
Oh... and even if you got past ALL those obstacles... today's batteries would last maybe an hour powering the mythica CPU/GPUs.
So I would say... not likely anytime soon.

I was using a dangle (wireless portable internet data card) called TATA Photon plus in INDIA since 6 years with a MAC book pro. it was working fine. since I have changed my MAC book pro with retina display with mervicks 10.9.3 its not recognizing the device. service providers say it will not work for 10.9.3. so, my question is which device can work for my purpose ? any body can suggest!!

Your query should be addressed to the service providers.  They should be able to give you a definitive answer.
    Ciao.

How do I use an external display with a macbook pro?

Just buy the proper adapter cord, such as MiniDisplay port to HDMI for example.  Plug it in and it will be automatically recognized.  Use System Preferences > Displays to set options.
The display can Mirror your primary desktop or Extend the Desktop.

  • I have a macbook pro 15" Retina Display with 2.6 ghz and 8gb of ram yet when i try to download a HD movie from itunes it says my computer doesn't support HD?

i have a macbook pro 15" retina Display with 2.6 ghz and 8gb of ram when i try to download an HD movie from itunes it says my computer doesn't support HD? i went to the support on the apple website and looked at the specs that a computer has to meet in order to play HD movies and mine is well above them. Why can't i play the movies?

That would at least partially explain it.
These MacBook Pros drew more power than the power brick could readily supply, and so would only run at top speed when the power brick was supplemented by the battery.
Though the applicable tech note has been removed, it stated:
"If the battery is removed from a MacBook or MacBook Pro, the computer will automatically reduce the processor speed. This prevents the computer from shutting down if it demands more power than the A/C adapter alone can provide."
