"Use active profile except for: IMPORTANT CALLS?
I'm kinda confused as to what this means (in the ringer profiles). Exactly where in my phone would I set a contact as an "important caller" so that I would be alerted to them calling me/texting me regardless of what ringer profile I was currently using? I'm really confused on this and need an explanation on how this works.

I use an ipod classic 120G. When I try to launch itunes I first of all see a box stating "The registry settings used by itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes" This I have done. obviously I cannot burn CDs but worse still is my ipod is not being recognised by itunes and will not sync. I have not installed any new burning softeware. I recently installed a programme to convert audio from a cassette player to digital and I found that my CD/DVD drive was missing. I deleted the offending programme and followed a "fix" by deleting the upper and lower filters as specified in the fix. My CD/DVD drive reappeared but now when I open iTunes I get the message “the registry settings used by theiTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs are missing” even though I am able to import tracks from a CD to iTunes. I haven't tried burning a CD yet but then I hardly ever do. I don't appear to have the problem but the message insists that I do!
I have removed iTunes and all associated files and folders from my computer and reinstalled iTunes three times but the message still appears every time I open iTunes. I use Vista. Can you help?

I have installed iTunes 7.3.1. When I start iTunes, I get an error window titled "iTunes Setup Assistant" The text in the window is "The reggistry setings used by itunes drivers for importing or burning CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes." I then click on the ok button and itunes loads just fine but without the burn option. I have uninstalled Roxio Creator 8, Yahoo Picassa2 and any other softeware that might have a disc burning option. I then uninstalled itunes, rebooted and then reinstalled itunes. I still get the same message. What else can I do to get iTunes to be able to imnport and burn discs?xz
First try rebooting and repairing.
Reboot the PC (very important) and then do a repair install of iTunes. In Add/Remove Programs, select iTUnes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy there, check for a device filter conflict in registry, as per the following document:

Basically we had a new motherboard fitted, we then found our CD/DVD drive had not been reconnected. After this has been done, when we try to burn a cd from itunes, we get the following message:-

I have edited the registery, downloaded the Gear drivers, uninstalled and installed itunes, and the error still appears.

We'd better have a closer look at the keys to see what's going on.
Can you post a screenshot of the contents of the key you've been editing, please? Include all of the regedit screen, including the left-hand column. Save the screenshot to an image file, and insert the image file in a reply by clicking the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window.
