Use AP as a trunk to a switch

Hello,
I have a 5508 controller with multiple SSID’s that are non-broadcasting. My goal is to get a 1142N to work in non-root bridge mode by accessing one of the existing WPA2 SSID’s.
I have a IDF that has a 3750 switch with multiple devices connected to it in 3-4 different vlans. B/C of fiber length restraints, I can’t uplink in a traditional way. So, my thought is I can connect a 1142N in non-root bridge mode and connect it to an existing WPA2 w/AES that’s being broadcasted by our 5508WLC. Connect the 1142 to 3750 and let it act as the trunk port for the devices on the switch.
Is that possible?

Using your method would work fine with 1 VLAN only. However, can not be used for multiple VLANs.
Even though you can use Work Group Bridge (WGB) in order to let the autonomous AP to join through lightweight APs, it can only connect using one SSID and hence using one VLAN.
Q. Does a WGB support multiple VLANs in it?A. No. A Cisco WGB device does not support multiple VLANs in it. A 1100 AP, however, that acts in WGB mode can support multiple VLANs in it but with these restrictions:The VLANs must be assigned on both the root AP and WGB sides.The WGB must be connected to a dot1Q-capable switch.The Infrastructure SSID must be mapped to the native VLAN on root and the WGB.Note: The WGB associates on the Infrastructure SSID.With this configuration, it is possible to associate WGB (WGB BVI interface) as a Native VLAN and have wired clients configured behind a dot1q switch associated to different (non-Native) VLANs.

The above multi-vlan support although restricted to 1100, it is only achievable with two autonomous APs one of them is a WGB. This is because with a lightweight AP, you are only restricted to the VLAN to which the SSID that the WGB connects to is configured.
If you want to do what you illustrated you can use two autonomous APs; one as a root and one as a non-root.

Using Trunking 1.3 to create a trunk accross two switches

I have installed Solaris Trunking 1.3 on my SF 880 which is running Solaris 10. It has two CE interfaces which i have configured in one trunk. Failover works fine when I connect them to a single Nortel 8000 switch. The problem is that I can't get failover working properly when I connect one CE interface to a Nortel 8000 switch and the other CE interface to another Nortel 8000 switch. Should this work? I have seen many references, eg in the Solaris Trunking 1.3 documentation, that actually says you can't create a trunk accross switches but i also found BUG ID 5079123 which says you can.
By the way I can't use the version of trunking software that is bundled with Solaris 10 because it doesn't support the CE interfaces.

Thanks for your reply. I should have mentioned that i don't need load balencing over the trunk to work. I just need failover to work. In fact that is just what the bug id says i should be able to do across two switches. Here's a copy of the bug id:

Trunking off a switch that is connected as a vPC peer

Hello,
Yesterday I ran into an issue in someones environment where they wanted to trunk a 2960 switch (Lets call it SwitchA) off of another 2960 (SwitchB) switch which was a vPC peer to a set of Nexus 5k's. When he did this, he noticed his phones were unable to communicate with the voice gateway. The same VLANs were allowed across the trunk from SwitchA to SwitchB and to the Nexus5K
When I moved SwitchA to its own port channel and vPC the voice traffic was able to communicate just fine. I am more concerned about this issue for learning/experience purposes. Has anyone run into a similar issue or know of a vPC rule that is preventing SwitchA from hanging off SwitchB? I have never seen a setup where someone wanted to do that when using vPC's but am still curious about that setup incase I run into it again in the future.

Yes, I was allowing the same VLAN over the peer-link also. If I wasnt then all the other IDF switches would of had downed phones. The odd thing also is when SwitchA was trunked to SwitchB desktops had connectivity but phones didnt. I then SSH'd into SwitchA and tried pinging the gateway for VLAN 120 (Voice VLAN) and was able to hit the gateway and the phone system, showing I had connectivity. For some reason though, the handsets just werent finding the router.

basically, configure both interfaces you use for the trunk as following:
interface FastEthernet0/15
switchport mode trunk
The 2950 supports 802.1Q trunking only, so this is the only command you need.

We do have a place in the UK which we could use as an address, but for various reasons it gets a bit complex even though we still have a UK bank account. We moved to France when there were no iDevices and apps around, just bought the occasional music, so it wasn't a problem. Funny thing is I can't even download the free UK bank app because it's not available in the French store .
I'll live with the problem for now as we plan to move back to the UK in a year or so - we miss the weather .

When you say 'open loop' and 'closed loop', are you referring to running the application in position and torque mode? If not, how exactly are your controlling a servo motor in open loop?
In closed loop mode, the encoder values will be used as reference and the motion VIs can be used to configure the software limit as required. Are you currently losing the software limits? If so, how exactly are you losing these values? I am not sure I understood what exactly is happening with software limits in your program, so any more information on this would be useful.

No. Call Apple Care and give them the serial number. They may be able to tell you who it is locked to.

I tried using events to detect signals from input switches Advantech PCL-8181L, but it seems no response.
I have read an article about the events that user controls can trigger and some external IO cannot.
Is there any one know how I can get the program to monitior them all the time without using event function?

I am not sure that I have a complete understanding of your question. Are you attempting to use LabVIEW Events (Functions >> Application Control >> Events) with your Advantech DAQ board? This will not be possible. Could you expand upon the functionality you are trying to achieve?

i have the same problem. but, as a temp solution try to use iTunes in your pc/mac & sign in with your device's iTunes account and change the store location to US store & download the app to your (iPhone-iPod-iPad)*
* you must enable Automatic Downloads (Settings ==> iTunes& app stores ==> Automatic Downloads ==> switch apps to ON)
