This may not be the best option, but you could use Screen Sharing to control the iMac from your MacBook Pro.

If you have an iCloud account, you can use Back to My Mac to share the screen of any computer that has your account name and password entered in the iCloud pane of System Preferences, even if that computer is on a remote network.

How to move an email from user mailbox to shared mailbox using apps for office mail app

How can I move an email from a users main mailbox to a shared mailbox using apps for office. I know I can do this manually but i am creating an for owa/outlook that would be a button to move the item. I have tried using ews but can only find

Can I create a xml that would would do this? Is there a way to do it using the EWS service reference. I do not want to use import/export to do this.

yes I was able to make it work using Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data and writing it as a web API, however i am unable to to authenticate the user if it is hosted on another server (without them retyping their password. I assume that
their is a matching java script version of what i am doing on the api side. I am just stuck trying to figure it out. the below code works as a Web Api if i could authenticate the user.

Thoughts please on using Powerbook for graphics/best place to find 2nd hand

not sure where the best place for this post was so apologies if it's in the wrong spot - I'm thinking of getting a laptop as a 2nd Mac, mainly for graphics work e.g. InDesign, Photoshop etc what are users thoughts on the Powerbook for this kind of usage and/or where is the best place to look in the UK for 2nd hand/refurbished Mac laptops?

The Aluminum line topped out at 1.67GHz in the 15" model. Combined with newer features, more RAM capacity, faster buses, brighter displays, these are a big step over the Titaniums.
Although the MB and MBP start at 1.83GHz, which doesn't sound much faster, they have dual cores (basically two processors) and are considerably faster, depending on the apps ability to utilize those cores. Of course, you pay for that speed. If I were going to buy a Ti for anywhere near the price of an Al, I'd certainly get the Al. And if I were going to buy an Al for anywhere near the price of a MBP, no doubt I'd get the MBP.
I think it's going to boil down to what you want to spend, with the ranges being low, medium, and high, as described above. I know that unless I was getting a terrific deal on an Al, I wouldn't even be thinking about it, I'd go MBP all the way.

Using apps for multiple devices

Hi,
I'm not sure if I should ask this here but this is my basic problem. I have an iPod touch and I want to sell it and get an iPhone. I have bought a lot of apps from iTunes and I would like to be able to use them on the iPhone once I get it. Can I do that? Do I have to restore the iPod to factory settings first so that I delete all the apps from it first?

1) how can you keep what you have? answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
2) how do you wipe out the info from the device you want to sell. factory settings, but not til AFTER step 1.

How to use songs for ringtones like prior to ios7?

Prior to the iOS7 upgrade, I had 'custom' ringtones assigned to my contacts. The custom tones were ringtones that I created. When I upgraded, those were all removed from my contacts. I can't figure out how to get them back. I have verified that my ringtone files are still on my iphone..but I just can't figure out how to access them. The only option is to use the apple provided ringtones or buy them via the store.
Any ideas?

I would recommend re-syncing your iPhone with iTunes. Ensure that they are on there. Then they should all be grouped towards the top by the Buy Ringtones and Default ringtone area.

Pages is a good word processor. Other apps will depend on the subject matter...there are dozens of great math and science apps in the app store. Which ones to get depend on exactly what courses you are taking.

I know Flash is coming to web os and I am super excited as I hope to play farmville on my palm! But...They should make an app for farmville like they do on the iphone. I am wondering if using flash is going to end up consuming much more data than an app would, and many carriers no longer have unlimited data plans. So please make a Farmville app!

Sorry to report, Apple is the only place you can get those apps, & Apple are no longer accepting apps with deployment targets earlier iOS versions.
That said, you might try contact the developers of those earlier apps to see what they say.

Any chance of success using iMovie for Film Festival Submission?

Say with iMovie, say 11, 09, or my old HD?
Or do I need Final Cut, say Express?
Will I be able to submit a sufficiently high def version using iMovie 11? Or will the degradation be too much, supposing that I edit in iMovie, then burn to DVD with iDVD.
The film will be about 7 minutes and shot with Panasonic GH1 and a Go Pro in HD. There may be slow motion and a mix of ambient sound, voice, and music.
It'll be entirely shot outdoors under somewhat nasty conditions. Meaning no lights, usually no tripod.
The reason I mention these latter points is that perhaps the quality of what I bring back (shaky, low light) might be the limiting factor and not the image degradation.
I have made many iMovies for YouTube, but would like to go bigger, so to speak, in quality of video, not necessarily length.
Would I benefit from going to Final Cut Express? Or could I stick with iMovie?

HT201412 my ipod wont turn on. because i didnt use it for 2 months

MY ipod touch 4th gen. doesn't turn on. i didnt use it for the like 2 month and now it wont turn on. i've tried charging it but, it still won't work

After charging overnight try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

App for local news cast will load then black out returning me to home page of ipad. Worked fine until 2 days ago. Any ideals?

I have been using app for local news. It has worked fine until 2 days ago. Now,when I choose the app it looks as if it is loading then it blacks out and takes me back to the ipad screen where I chose the selection. I have uninstalled and reistalled app same problem. Any ideals? This app works on my iphone and by daughters ipod.

I also have the same problem with my downloaded apps not opening any more, simply closing immediately after I try to open them.
It seems this only happens to downloaded apps, not the built-in ones.
I have been advised to remove all my apps and reload, but I fear loosing my data.
I tried the 2 diff kinds of shutdown/reboots, but did not help.
