Use as home intercom
I was wondering if there is a way to use skype as a video intercom system in the home on a private offline server (no internet). I have been looking around online for something like this but the cheapest system is $1300 and I would rather do a diy setup instead since I already have multiple computers, servers, and tablets just aitting around that people have given me when they upgraded.
It's not possible as Internet access is required to communicate with the Skype servers. I'm not aware of anything that mimics a Skype server to provide any type of sole Skype LAN functionality. I have not tested these so I'm not sure how functional they are. Having a gateway there is not going to be a problem. We just need to configure the Time Capsule correctly to work with the 2Wire.
You will need one ethernet cable to connect the 2Wire to the Time Capsule and a second ethernet cable to temporarily connect your computer to the Time Capsule so that it can be configured.
The 2Wire you have now should already be broadcasting a wireless network, so once you have the Time Capsule setup, you will actually have two wireless networks there.
Here's how to configure the Time Capsule to work with the 2Wire:
Connect an ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the 2Wire to the WAN (circle icon) port on the Time Capsule.
Connect another ethernet cable temporarily from your computer to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule
Open Hard Drive > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab below the row of icons to assign a name for the Time Capsule, a device password (write this down) and adjust time zone settings
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Wireless Mode....Create a wireless network
Wireless Network Name....Your choice
Radio Mode....Automatic
Channel...Automatic
Wireless Security...WPA/WPA2 Personal
Wireless Password....Your choice (write this down)
Check mark next to....Remember password in keychain
Click the Internet icon
At the bottom, change the setting for Connection Sharing to "Off (Bridge Mode)"
Click Update at the lower right and the Time Capsule will restart after 20-25 seconds and you should get the green light.
You should now be able to connect to your Time Capsule wireless network.
I'm not clear on whether you have tried to setup the Time Capsule to backup your computer. Post back if you need some info on that. We may need to start another thread for that as that will be a different subject. -
The screen is black . i can.t get it to respond.Power + home soft reset didnt work. Itunes could detect any sync apps. I used my home phone to call my iphone and on my home phone i can hear the calling tone.But my iphone didn't ring/screen did not light up. Its a iphone 4. Any ideas how to fix this?
If the basics (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) don't work, you'll need to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation

An easy route would be to use the iTunes Match service such that all your Songs are available anywhere over the internet via iCloud. Once complete you can create an account on your friends PC, download iTunes and sign-in to the iTunes Store with your Apple Id, start iTunes Match and it will provide access to all your Songs.
Not quite so good, is simply to follow the steps on your friends PC as above, however, instead of iTunes Match simply access the 'purchased' songs area from the iTunes Store home page that will give you access to all your purchases without iTunes Match.
IMPORTANT: Apple only like to see a single Apple Id associated with one device - so if your friend already has an active Apple Id account on the PC, it would be wise to use an alternate machine. Apple has a 90 day lock out associated with switching Apple Ids on a common device. -

With Firefox 23 and TabMixPlus 0.4.1.0 installed, an additional box is added to the Tabs options panel that allows 3 options for the tab bar:

You don't download anything at all. The feature is built into the iPhone 4 already. Your carrier has to support the feature and there might be an extra charge to use it.

My iphone 4s' screen is black, but it's still on and charging. I broke my lock screen button so I am unable to turn it off using the home button and lock button. Is there any other way my phone can restart or turn off ? Is my phone broken for sure?

Most intelligent people would not store such sensitive data on a device that could so easily be lost, stolen, or damaged. Even if they chose to do so, they would use the device as designed and regularly sync and backup that device as described in the User's Guide.
Have you done so? If you have, all of the data is either in iCloud or iTunes on your computer. Replace the device and restore the new iDevice with the backup of the old one. -

Voicemail is left at your carrier's server. That will continue to work unless you report your iPhone as lost or stolen with your carrier.
You may never find it again and you can't if the iPhone remains offline or out of service which means the iPhone is powered off or doesn't have cellular reception. -

With Apple TV 1 the limit was 5 Apple clearly stated that. The reason? Probably because the Apple TV 1 had a hard drive and was able to store content locally (quite a bit actually). This would make it more in line with authorized devices.
You authorized device limit is 5 but this does not pertain to home sharing again something different.
When you play content from an Apple TV you are streaming from an authorized device and as long as you have the same iTunes account on that Apple TV as the iTunes you are connecting to you will be ok.
Now to the error. I have also had this error and I had it on a network with only 1 Apple TV connected and it is since iTunes 11. It seems every time Apple updates iTunes it has a bad effect on Apple TV. So I would not relate this error to the number of Apple TV's you have, every time I get this error I restart the Apple TV and its fine again.
On a side not I used to run MANY Apple TV's off my xserver. I had my families homes networked with VPN. I would prefer to not say how many but it was quite a few. biggest problem there was multicast over VPN....whole other story. -

If you have a wireless computer connection and cordless phones (not cellular), the phones' frequency can interfere with that of the wireless router. If either the wireless router or the phones' base station allow you to adjust frequencies, changing one of them to a different frequency often fixes the problem.
The ability to adjust the frequency depends entirely on the brand and model of the router and, similarly, the phones. If you have a Apple Airport Extreme Base Station, ask in the forums for that product:

Apps for OSX aren't in iTunes: they are in the App Store in your Applications folder. The payment method is the one registered in iTunes. There's no app actually called Yoga Studio, though there are several Yoga apps. There is an iOS app called Yoga Studio but it appears to have no OSX equivalent, though I haven't done a detailed search.

I am going to downgrade from Vista to XP (my DELL machine was originally XP Home) but I don't have my old XP install files anymore. I did do have a Windows XP Professional SP3 install disc. My question is: Would I be able to use my serial number using the WinXP Pro install disc for a clean install? (I am going to format my C drive.)
