Use BIBeans with non-Oracle development / appserver products?

Hi,
Is it possible to BIBeans with non-Oracle development tools (netbeans/forte etc.) and appserver products?
Where can I find more info?
TIA..

Hi Nilesh,
Yes it is definitely possible to use other IDEs for BIBeans development but use of JDeveloper makes it really easy as it has got lot of BI Beans wizards. In other IDEs though it is possible, it will be very tedious to create reports and graphs etc and do over all development.
As far as deployment on other appserver goes, I have deployed BIBeans applications (Servlet) on atleast 3 containers (Tomcat, OC4J and weblogic). Since BIBeans builds a standard java servlet application, it should be possible to deploy on any servlet container.
Hope it helps.

  • Configuration of XSQL for use with non-Oracle dbs

If anyone has positive experiences with configuring XSQL for use with non Oracle databases I'd like to hear how they did it, see tutorials, configuration files, etc.
Specifically setting up to use MySQL or Postgresql on Linux/FreeBSD would be very interesting.
Also, does anyone use this without setting mime types? How would you go about this so you could point to the relevant servlets in the page?
    Josh

I don't understand how setting up for Non-Oracle DB's is related to not setting up the servlet as an extension-mapped servlet.
It might work, but would you run JSP's
that way? XSQL behaves very similiarly
inside to how a JSP runner works, which
    wants to be servlet-mapped.
However, OAS 4.0.8.1 does not support
extension mapping and XSQL works there
so i'm assuming it would work on other
servers set up that way. It's not
    a configuration we test/certify.

We would appreciate any help on this problem.
Are there any patches which would enable the use of this protocol??

  • XML Publisher with Non Oracle databases

    Hi,
Can we use XML Publisher with non oracle databases like Postgres ,mySQL etc.

    Hi
Not sure if you're talking Apps or non but you can do it equally with both. Check out the Data Engine in the user guide and look for Distributed Queries. XMLP will need a jdbc connection to the db but you can then pass a query and get XML back.
You can even write one query to pull back say customers from Oracle and their invoices from MySQL, you'll get a merged data set back with a master detail relationship btw customers-invoices

Take a look into Plug-ins, there are some none-oracle ones pre built by Oracle and others.
There's a forum about Extensibility in the current category here.
Also, for further extensibility, the new Connector Framework looks interesting, see the OEM Integration Guide.

  • Do we need to buy license to use Toplink in non Oracle application server?

    Hi,
Can Oracle Toplink be used freely without any license required when deploy in non-Oracle internet application server?
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

    From the TopLink FAQ: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/technical/tl10g_faq.htm#WhatDoesTopLinkCost
"Under the OTN license, TopLink is free to download for evaluation and use during development. A production license is included with all editions of OracleAS or can be licensed separately for $5K per CPU."
Your situation would require a separate license.

  • APEX with non-Oracle Apache

Is it a good idea or bad idea to integrate Apex Oracle 10g SE1 on Windows to a production instance Apache (Windows) from a source other than Oracle's Companion CD? Any good guides or tips?

    Hi Jes,
I am a newbie to apex and apache.
I’d like to build an apex application for account administrators to sporadically manage the look-up reference data. We already have apache, tomcat and jboss running for the primary application and I’d like to use the same server and services to keep from buying a new machine or stealing from resources (RAM & CPU) because of setting up a second companion instance of apache.
Is there a compatibility issue with using a non-Oracle version of apache? Will it play fair with existing apache applications? Am I better off installing the Companion CD apache on the database server to reduce network I/O; or will it steal resources from the dbms? I'd also like to keep complexities to a minimum so I can stay focused on my DBA role.
    TIA,
    Steve

Do you have a samba server installed and a share configured properly on your linux server? otherwise you won't be able to map your network drive via net use.
The ORA-100501 non oracle exception means you cought a raise form_trigger_failure exception in a when others exception handler which most certainly is thrown in the client_host procedure because something went wrong.
Try the command you are issuing in the shell on your client machine and see what errors come up. Most certainly your samba server isn't configured properly (or not configured at all); as this has nothing to do with forms you should try google with the error message of net use then first.
    cheers

  • Using SVTI with non Cisco peers

    Hello Community,
I have a particular setup in mind, but can't get it to work in a GNS3 environment to have it tested before trying it in our production setup.
We have a setup using two VPN routers (3845) with HSRP, BGP and VRF (with rri), using a classical setup with crypto maps, connecting other parties to our DC. We do not manage the peer hardware in these cases.
I'm have been looking into the possibilities to move from this setup, to a setup using SVTI with IPSEC. This change must be transparant to our peers; no config changes should be needed on their component(s).
So I've build our setup in GNS3 (apart from the BGP and VRF) to test this. I have the current IPSEC VPN with crypto maps working in GNS3, with both sides using the same (Cisco) setup in terms of ISAKPM and IPSEC with an ACL.
I've made the changes on "our" HSRP VPN setup according to "IPsec Virtual Tunnel Interface" guide from the Cisco site in GNS3 (can't seem to find the link to the online doc).
It looks like the tunnel is being build, but phase two is not completing, because of, I think, the mismatch between both peers on the ecnryption domain. the VTI side uses routing through the Tunnel interface, sending "IP any any", to the peer, whereas the peer uses a ACL expecting a specifc source and destination.
Here's a debug snippet (ignore the date/time) seen from the peer (using an ACL):
*Mar  1 02:02:45.199: IPSEC(validate_transform_proposal): no IPSEC cryptomap exists for local address xx.xx.xx.xx
*Mar  1 02:02:45.199: ISAKMP:(0:9:SW:1): IPSec policy invalidated proposal
    *Mar  1 02:02:45.199: ISAKMP:(0:9:SW:1): phase 2 SA policy not acceptable! (local xx.xx.xx.xx remote yy.yy.yy.yy)
    *Mar  1 02:02:45.199: ISAKMP:(0:9:SW:1):Sending NOTIFY PROPOSAL_NOT_CHOSEN protocol 3
In this post, https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3052235#3052235, it is suggested that when using a setup with VTI's, both sides/peers should use the same kind of setup i.e. VTI. I can imagine this to be realistic when you manage both peers.
All Cisco docs assume both peers use (S|D)VTI.
    My questions:
    1. Is it possible to have a setup where PeerA (Cisco hadrware) uses SVTI with IPSEC and PeerB is unknown (can be any vendor) or uses some kind of ACL and given that all other encryption settings match
    2. Does anyone has experience with such a setup ? If so can you provide me with an example configuration
    3. Is there an other similair solution using a virtual interfaces or a loopback interface ?
Thank you kindly for your input.
    Avinash
I hope you can help me

  • Problems with installing Oracle Developer Suite

    Hi,
I am trying to install the Oracle Developer Suite, and I get a message error saying that my swap space is not enough for ODS installation. How fix it?
    ThankX
    Sávio

You need at least 512 MB of internal memory for Developer. If you have this, then you will need to add swap space. This is done at the operating system level, not by Forms. Search the Internet for your operating system and you will find out how to do this.

  • How to use wsit with jeveloper for developing and testing web servises

hi, all. Just want to ask one realy simple quastion.
I'm new with web servises, so my question may be doesn't fall well into this section , but this community looks friendly for me and i hope to get some usefull links and advises.
First of all could anybody say me if i'm righ or wrong with the following suggestions:
    1. What is the principal difference between axis 2 and wsit products? Do i understand right that they both extend or support so called jax-ws2 API and represent different approaches in that (are they competitors?), or this products serve for different sakes at all and could be used together? I want to understand without much digging how these products correlate with each other...
    2. If i'm right what is oracle favor? And if oas standard supply doesn't include wsit, how to install and use this product for creating interoperable web servises in jdeveloper enviroment? ...or jax-ws 2.1 wasn't included in oc4j v10 and will be the part of v11 only?
    Thanks in advance. Alex.

Both Axis and WSIT are not Oracle products - so I'm not exactly sure why would you post the question here.
JDeveloper has native support for JAX-RPC based Web services development in 10.1.3 and JAX-WS support in 11 - check out the online demos linked from the home page to see these in action.
