Use Forms with webutil with java plug
I am using oracle 9i forms with webutil, it works with jinitiator but I have problem runiing with java plug-in. I have changed formweb.cfg as follow. It des not work.
It works on oracle 10g rel1 appserver using jinitiator but does not work with java plug.

JAI extension automatic installation fail with Java Plug-in 1.4.1_01
Hi everyone,
i have a html page with an applet that use the JAI (Java Advanced imaging) extension. I used to run it with java plug-in 1.3.1_03.
When the JAI extension was not installed, it was automatically downloaded and installed. I use the sun "Signed Auto Installation for browsers" jar available on the JAI download page.
But with Java Plug-in 1.4.1_01, it seems to have a security problem. Is the "Signed Auto Installation for browsers" only java plug-in 1.3 compatible or is there a way to install it with 1.4.
If anyone has encountered the same problem with another extension, it could help me to know how to have it installed automatically with java Plug-in 1.4.
I tested on IE 4 and 6 on Windows NT4 & IE 6 on Windows 2000, and i have the same results.

How can I make Edit/Default Customization form with Java ?
In previous portal relise developers have simple way to rendering Edit/Default Customization form:

In current portal version I can not find these methods, these methods not exists in JavaDoc and in jar's. And all old code do not works!!! Why?
I must hide portlet borders and use <renderContainer>false</renderContainer> in provider.xml. Then portal do not render Edit/Default Customization form in Edit/Default mode. In previous relise I can make this form with Java code.
My question: how I can get Edit/Default Customization form in Edit/Default mode with Java code?

CheslavHi George, the trick is to figure out which browser is your default now, and remove that designation using the Android settings for Apps. It might be Chrome or it might be something Samsung provides.

Sure, it's been in every newspaper and network TV news. Java browser plugins below v1.7.10.19 are vulnerable to exploitation and have been disabled by Apple, Firefox & Chrome. You either need to update your installation to Oracle's Java 7 update 11 or do without. -
Only 274 mails are coming when using pop3 with java mail

ThanksIs it possible that GMail only allows access to untagged emails via POP3? Or only to emails from the last x days?
POP3 is the older email retrieval protocol (IMAP4 is the more current one) and only has very limited support for folders (or anything but a single inbox, really). It's quite common that POP3 only allows access to a subset of all emails stored by a provider. -

I read that there might be problems using xerces with Java Web Start, because JWS uses Sun's implementation of JAXP internally. My application needs Xerces and I think I am able to get it working using the following settings in the JNLP file:

Forms 10gR2 printing issue with Java Plug-in 1.6.0_21

I replaced Jinitiator by Java Plug-in 1.6.0_21. I’m using forms 10gR2. I modified formsweb.cfg file and most of the other functionality work fine. I overwrote the default functionality of the menu item ‘Print Button’ by the following java script

WalidThe problem you are both reporting is unclear. If I understand at all what you are doing, it would seem that you are calling window.opener, but the window has no name. In newer browser versions (I believe IE 7 and newer) what I think you are trying to do won't work anymore. Take a look at this:

I included the code for SAP DB connection to read from the table.
I imported both the sapdbc-7_6_00_30_5567 Driver.jar and my custom jar into imported archives.
I used the java functions in my XSLT to get the lookup value.
The code was working correctly in NWDS, but when i tried to execute the scenario, it gave me 'SYSTEM ERROR'

Thanks to all who replied.
I solved the problem.
I was calling the java method from XSLT without passing any arguement.
I realised that the java methods called from XSLT should always have input parameter. So i changed the javamethod call from
public static String getCurrentRecNo() to public static String getCurrentRecNo(Object test)
and it worked.
Can anybody explain me why java methods called from XSLT should always have an input arguement.

In the past,using one of the first versions of forms server 6,I don't know how(I couldn't reproduce the config on other machines),but I had a c-s form wich was displaying java beans(the HotLabelWrapper demo).
I thinck that forms server was also installed on that machine. -

XPRESS and Java, you only got one or two options.. as the previous guy said.. look at the Workflow, Forms and Views docu. There is a section called Java and Javascript expressions in the XPRESS language section.
I guess the <invoke> is the most commonly used XPRESS command with java. You invoke a method of a class.
The trick is figuring out how to introduce your new class into the IDM environment so that your XPRESS can find it.. and then call the method via the XPRESS invoke.
Typically, you create a .jar of your custom classes, drop this .jar into $WSHOME/WEB-INF/lib and restart your App server.
Do a search of the forums for "custom classes"

You are more than a bit confused so please stop here until you understand the following.
JDBC is the API for communicating with relational databases in Java. It is not a database in and of itself but it can communicate with any database that provides JDBC API access in the form of a JDBC driver.

How to get applets running with Java Plug-in on Win but also on Mac OS X???
I've converted to the use of Java Plug-in for my applets, but I need to have those same applets executable from browsers on Mac OS X platform. Surely this has been done, but I don't see how. The browsers I've tried on Mac OS X (Netscape, IE) don't seem to recognize the <OBJECT> tag used for the java plug-in. I've seen no news about the Java plug-in being ported to Macs. How can one get the same applet to run with the Java plug-in on Windows browsers, and also to run with at least one of the common browsers on Mac OS X? Any help would be SO much appreciated!
Those ten dukes look good to me. But the passing of fifteen months has me thinking you've probably moved on. In any case, here's my effort.
I've been through a trial trying to get my applet, developed with 1.4.1_03, to run on my Mac OS X v.10.2.6 in multiple browsers. I'm posting my results here. Comments and feedback are welcome.
JVM support for 1.4.1 is limited to the Safari browser. All other browsers running in Mac OS X that I've tried ( Camino, Opera, Internet Explorer, Mozilla ) are using the 1.3.1 plugin. According to a bug report by Mozilla on this topic ( see Bugzilla Bug # 197813 http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197813 )
with the release of Apple's version of Sun's Java 1.4.1 the applet programming model has changed, and only Safari has adapted with this change. Other browsers, according to the report, could not because of a lack of documentation. The use of the MRJCarbon plugin offered by Mozilla (here - http://www.mozilla.org/oji/MRJPluginCarbon.html) only allows Mozilla to use the J 1.3.1. And I have not found any information on the Microsoft site about how to get IE 5.2 to recognize the newer version of Java.
Regarding the use of the OBJECT tag in Safari, it is a matter of debate. A current post on this topic exists in the Applet Development forum:

In my experience, I have not been able to determine that Safari v1.0 recognizes the OBJECT tag. My experience is that the APPLET tag is required to run applets in Safari. The Bugzilla report echoes the problem with the BadMagicNumber error that can arise in Safari. Nonetheless, I enjoy Safari and I enjoy Mac OS X. -
I am looking for a way to autocomplete login forms(In a web browser, IE) with a Java program.
Does anyone know of a method, or if this is possible with Java? What about JNI?I think you cannot do that very simple because autocomplete it is made on the client..and you don;t have access there only with (javascript, applets...activex)
Or you can use cookies to identify the client and ajax to complete login form with the password...
anyway I don;t think it is a good approach to autocomplete login forms. -

"class.forName....for method" Where did you get this idea?He's perfectly correct. JDBC 4.0 takes advantage of the Java SE Service Provide mechanism in Java 6 to do away with the requirement. So, if you have Java 6 and a JDBC 4 driver (it's a mandatory feature) you simply omit the forName() call.
The only problem is that there aren't that many complete JDBC 4 drivers out there yet.

Hi all, I am in the process of creating a batch file in Adobe Acrobat. I have several options that it is doing, such as applying security, watermark, etc. Now I need to add a way to delete a certain bookmark. This bookmark will have the same name in
