Use free iPod Touch discount for an iPad
Hello,
I would buy a MacBook Pro for college and I saw I can get a free iPod Touch 8GB.
It cost $199, can I use this discount for an iPad or an iPhone?

Thanks for answerIf you go to Apple, they will not replace your battery, but exchange your iPod for a refurbished iPod of the same model with a new battery. Therefore you will lose everything that is not backed up. If you change it yourself or have a third party change it, you will most likely not lose anything (but still best to make a backup as lllaass suggested).

Your problem is that everyone seems to be using the same iTunes store account (ID). That's fine when a family wants to share purchased items, but that's the rub - everyone is tapping into the same account, so they can download whatever is available.
As for icloud accounts, icloud is designed for single user use. If multiple users share the same icloud account then all their devices will be synced together - same emails, same contacts and calendars, same notes, etc. There is no privacy or division of data in this scenario. The usual advice is for everyone to have their own ID for icloud, and share the family ID for iTunes store. -
When I change from MobileMe to iCloud can I still use my iPod Touch G2 for emails?
Can I still sync everything as per normal? Is it just the new iCloud features that wont work?
You can't use your iPod with any of iClouds features. You need iOS5 and the iDevice wont run that nor will you be able to move your MobileMe account to iCloud on iOS4.x.
In order to keep your MM account working after next year you must purchase a new idevice or a Lion capable Mac. Alternate : a Vista/Win7 PC with Outlook will also work with iCloud. -

It would probably be best to attach the iPod to a computer and restore it. This way you'll know it's wiped clean. Then, when you start up the iPod it will ask you for your Apple ID.
