Use iPad as a 2nd monitor or graphics tablet with Photoshop/Wacom Bamboo Pen?

Can iPad be used as a 2nd monitor or graphics tablet with Photoshop/Wacom Bamboo Pen tablet?
I called Wacom as asked this question but the guy was clueless, and I'm sure they'd rather have you spend $1000 on their Cintiq instead of $29.95 on a Pen.... I figure I'll get more use out of an iPad and save around $400...
Or maybe this is jsut a far fetched idea...

Hiya
I am not quite sure of how this product works, but it might be wortha try:

  • Can I use a graphics tablet such as Wacom with Keynote?

I would like to be able to use my Graphics tablet with Keynote to write on my slides while teaching. I am able to use the pen tablet with Powerpoint, I just select pen for pointer and pen color. How do I do this in Keynote?
    Thanks for your help,
    Jackk

I don't think you can do that within Keynote itself. Is there anything useful in the Inkwell preferences? I have never used a tablet with a Mac before, but I think that Inkwell would have some kind of annotation feature.

  • Using a tablet with Photoshop CC

I'm using Photoshop CC with a Wacom Intuos tablet.  I'm sort of inclined to think that the issue I'm having has more to do with a tablet setting than a Photoshop setting but I was using this same table with CS6 and I don't think I was having this problem but either way I'm sure I'm not the only one on this forum who's used a wacom tablet with Photoshop so hopefully somebody can help.
With the paintbrush selected if you press and hold with the Wacom pen then brush options appear in a floating box.  Can I turn that off?  It's screwing me up because anytime I want to draw just a short line or spec it seems to bring the options up and doesn't draw my line.  I sometimes like to paint textures on whatever I'm working on by making several specs of various colour and layering them up, but those short specs are pretty much impossible cuz it doesn't seem to realize I want to paint unless the pen is moving a bigger distance.
Like I said, this seems like it's probably more of a Wacom issue than a Photoshop issue but I can't find any settings to change that seem like they would fix the problem.  Anybody out there know how I can fix that?
    Thanks!

I was having same problem using Photoshop cc and windows 8.1.
I first noticed when I was using clone tool. If I held down pen to start painting from clone source the dang circle appears with brush options.
Here's what I did to fix it.
Make sure your tablet is plugged in and working.
    Go to Windows Control Panel
    Select Hardware and Sound.
"Pen and Touch" should be listed, and select "Change Tablet Pen Settings".
A dialog opens. Look for the box that has the line inside that says "Press and Hold", and select that line.
Then press Settings button under box. This opens a new dialog box. At the top you need to UNCHECK "Enable Press and Hold for right-clicking". Hit OK, etc.
    That seemed to fix problem.
It seems under windows the default way pens work is that pressing and holding is equal to a right click. So unchecking that turns this off.
I also disabled "Flicks" as well in same dialog box and I thought it may affect how my pen works when drawing.

How can i use Nikon D 7100 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1 with Photoshop CS 5 Camera Raw?

The one needs 7.4 (or better), the other 8.1, so Photoshop CS5 with ACR6 is not up to the task.
The free DNG Converter could be used to convert the RAW images to DNG which your version of ACR should be able to process.

  • Driving a 2nd monitor at high res with Satellite A305-S6992E

    Hi all-
Newbie here (so please be gentle!)    :-)
I am thinking of buying this new Satellite A305-S6992E, but no salesperson can answer this question; will the Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 be able to drive my 2nd monitor (plugged into the standard VGA 15-pin Port) at a resolution of 1920 X 1280? The laptop's display will go to 1280 X 800 and that's just fine, but I need to know if I can esentially have that res on the laptop's screen and at the same time the higher res on the big monitor... anyone have an answer?
Thanks much in advance, have a great week-   Marty Moose

It should work fine.  I have always used my laptops with an external monitor at higher resolution.  Just turn on the extended desktop settings the way you want, and switch displays with Fn+F5.

  • Using graphics tablet with Ipad2

For those of us who would like a stylus experience with fine detail, from an artistic perspective, or much more accurate handwriting input -- does anyone know of a graphics tablet (that uses a fine detail stylus) that can be used as the input device for an iPad 2?  I imagine it would have to employ some kind of app to make it work.  Anybody gone down this trail yet??

    Doesn't exist.
These people have no problems with art on iPad:

  • Can I use an i pad to work like a graphics tablet with Smartboard?

I want to use Notebook in Smartboard with a graphics tablet. It has occurred to me that the ipad may be able to do even better. I would need to see the notebook file on my screen, manipulate the items on the screen and then see them displayed simultaneous on the classroom equipment.
    Can this be done?

SMART Technologies continues to manfacture the SMART Slate model WS200.
SMART Technologies released the Bridgit for iPad app in May, 2011.  It enables an Apple iPad to join a SMART Bridgit conference.  Within the conference the Apple iPad can they be used to temporarily take control of any shared computer, just like other participants who are using desktop or laptap computers.  It can also temporarily take control of the comptuer which is connected to a SMART Board.

  • Using a Table PC Like a Intuos Tablet with Photoshop

I use an Intous tablet with my desktop PC to edit my photography in Photoshop.  While travelling I've been using a laptop and a small Bamboo tablet.
I'd like to use a simpler travelling solution, a tablet PC if I can use it like I use the Intous tablet.
Does anyone know if this is possible?  It would be great to use the tablet PC instead of carrying around a Bamboo tablet.

  • Using a MacBook as 2nd monitor for iMac?

Hi. Got a shiny new 20" iMac with the 256MB graphics. I understand this unit can drive an external display without too much stress via the mini-DVI out. Question is, since the household is getting a Macbook soon anyways, and I'll only occasionally need a 2nd-display, is there a way to use the Macbook as a second 'dumb' monitor, simply displaying whatever is being fed to it by the iMac?
    Thanks!

Hi Duckman54: Congrats on the new Mac(s), but unfortunately the MacBook has no video input capability. You can however use another 20" monitor with the iMac.

  • New iMac and using old G5 as 2nd monitor?

    Hey y'all.
About to get either a new 21.5" or 27" iMac, and would like to know would I be able to connect them to my old G5 iMac? I'd like to use my g5 as a second monitor or for spanning to increase my desktop space. Is this possible with the G5? It's the 2ghz g5 iMac, the last one they made before switching to intel(Doh! Bad timing on my part. Lol).
Anyway...thanks for any advice or comment.
    Cheers.

    Hi iregan,
a direct connection is not possible since only the 27" iMac has a video-in port and your G5 iMac has not.
Have a look (and maybe test-drive) at ScreenRecycler http://www.screenrecycler.com/ScreenRecycler.html as a possible solution.

  • Graphic tablet with motion

I am still using mouse to work on motion, since one year i started to use it, is there a real benefit in using a graphic pad? anyone of you is using it?

I use a Wacom tablet all the time. Generally, I use the Wacom mouse, but when I need to draw, I use the pen...
Drawing with a mouse is like trying to draw with a bar of soap...
