Use nano with battery charger after battery has died?

Hello
I am wondering if it is possible to use the nano with the battery charger plugged into it after the battery in it has been used up? Because the battery seems to decay pretty fast and my primary reason to have the nano is as an input to my amp...
Thank you.

yes this ok to do. I do this all the time when I am listening to tunes at home. It saves the battery from discharging as quick

My wifes ipod nano 3rd generation is stuck on the sync screen even after it has been unplugged, the battery has died, and it has been recharged again.

    Hi buddy,
In my opinion the only the only one that you can do is updating the BIOS as Akuma suggested. This problem is not software related so thats the only option you have I think. You can download the newest BIOS version here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
If not, contact an authorized service provider please. The guys can fix all hardware related problems can diagnose this problem. Maybe the mainboard or something else must be exchanged.
    Good luck! :)

  • My 13 MacBook Pro acts like the battery has died while it is plugged in.

I will use my MacBook normally, it will be plugged in and fully charged. I will leave it on, close the lid and leave it plugged in for the night. The next morning it will still be fully charged (the charger indicator light is green, pressing the button on the left also shows full green dots). I will open the lid and instead of being ready to go right where it left off it has a white washed screen with a loading bar across the bottom. It goes through what normally happens as if the battery has died. It takes several minutes to fully start up before I can use it. Battery indicator is still at 100%. Strangely, this problem does not occur when I leave the computer on, UNPLUG it and close the lid. The next morning it will be ready to go without the white-washed loading screen. There is some, but minimal, battery depletion after that but only do to being unplugged. Otherwise it's fine.
Right now it's in diagnostics overnight at my local apple store. But the apple genius, and several other people I have talked to have not heard of this problem. Any insight? That computer is less than a year old, purchase december 2012. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact operating system. Thank you!

Youve got a wake from sleep issue when powered.
yes, youve got a late 2012 macbook Pro running 10.8.5

    - Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Next try letting the battery fully drain. After charging for a least an hour try again
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store, it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Phone battery has died.

my phone battery has died. Think there is a fault with the handset. Is there anyway I can transfer my pictures across? I have purchased Itunes match.

If your battery is dead, that means your phone is dead, and if that's the case, no you can't do anything with a dead iPhone but look at it.
Have you tried charging the phone?
Try restting it while plugged into the wall outlet: Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

How do you know if your internal battery has died without pulling it out of the computer and with out a battery tester?

    Hi, REMeeks -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
One way to do that is to make sure the date and time are correct, then shut the machine down and unplug it. Wait about an hour, then plug it in and start it up again. Check the date and time - if they are still correct, the battery is probably still good enough.
Unplugging the machine is important - even when the machine is turned off, if it is still plugged into live power it will draw a bit of current in order to maintain PRAM and the clock chip. By unplugging it you force it to use the battery; if that is too weak, the date and time will revert to original default.

  • Equium A300D-16c battery has died

I purchased this laptop about 3 years ago and the battery has recently died. I tried to replace it with a non Toshiba battery that fitted the part number. This battery appeared not to work.
When I put the part in and charged it up the laptop would state that there was no battery and the battery light would flash.
However when i unplugged it the laptop would run off the battery but the laptop would still say it did not exist.
I assumed that this battery was faulty so returned it and bought a Toshiba battery which is made by Toshiba and is the same battery as my old one.
It is defiantly the same part number as my old battery however it has the same problem as the previous battery.
I updated the BIOS system when I purchased the first laptop battery so I do not think its that.
I also downloaded another battery reader programme called "Battery Care" but this also says that the battery does not exist even when I unplug and run the laptop off said battery.
The original battery that came with the laptop on purchase is still recognised but only holds charge for around 15 minutes due to age.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi again
I replied earlier but for some reason it was not sent and I didnt find out until now.
Anyway what I meant was that he wanted me to use the new battery normally as in run the laptop off the battery without the ac adapter being attached. Even though the laptop would maintain that the battery was not there.
I have done this for a couple of hours before when I first got the battery and was trying to get the laptop to register its presence.
I am just worried that if I keep using the battery like that it would become a safety issue.
As the battery does work on its own and runs the computer fine its just that the laptop says there is no battery.

  • Using Nano with Mac and PC - can I?

I have an eMac and a Nano. Initially, I am using it with my Mac, but I will soon be using it in the office, which has a PC. Is it possible to use the same nano with iTunes on a PC, that I am currently using on my Mac.
If I cannot use on both, can I at the very least use the PC to charge the nano when I am away from my Mac, which could be a week at a time...or do I need to get a wall adaptor.
Sorry for the very basic questions, I have searched t he board but did not find the answer - so any help would bbe most appreciated!
    Thanking you in advance.
    Derek

If your iPod is formatted for OS X there is no way to convert the file system to Windows format (FAT32) without a complete format. All the data on the iPod (music, files, contacts, ect.) will be lost. But it is OK! You have all that stuff on your eMac. After you have formatted it with the newest iPod Updater for Windows, found at http://www.apple.com/ipod/download , you can go home an put all your music back on.
Another good thing to remember is that whenever an update is available for the iPod you must update it on a Windows PC. For example, if I tried to updated my Windows formatted iPod on my Mac so that I could, for example, use the new Podcasting feature, the computer will try to format the iPod to the OS X file system. All iPod updates from now on must be made on a Windows PC. Hope this helps.

  • Battery has died and am not sure why

Hi, my macbook battery has completely died and I cant work out why, I accidently let it run to empty and now when it only works when connected to the adaptor and the battery icon in the top right simply has a X in it and it doesnt register that theres a battery there. The battery is securly fastened and wasnt removed at all before this happened, Ive taken it off and wiped the connectors, but there was no obstruction of anykind and its not been near water or anything. Can any one help, will I need to take it to an apple store or is there something else I can do? Many thanks
PS in the 'power' section of the 'more info' bit it simply reads:
    Battery Information:
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 0
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: No
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 0
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 0
    Battery Installed: No
    Amperage (mA): 0

weird. I don't know what to say.
it doesn't matter if you leave it to die because no matter what it should work.
I'm a student with a low health battery caused from constant use so my laptop dies completely 5 times a day and the battery still works for 4 years.
leaving the battery to die should be a problem.
the X definitely means your battery is dead. this could have been caused by a sudden electric shock, maybe while you were away. since you already cleaned your battery it means it is still dead. get a new one.
p.s. Merry Christmas to you all!!!

  • Using nano with iPod dock -- no sound

I've seen lots of mentions that the dock connector on the nano is "standard". So I plugged the nano into my older iPod dock at home (came with my 40GB monochrome iPod). Power charging works, but with the nano plugged in I get no sound through the line out port on the dock. The 40GB iPod sound works fine through the same dock.
Is this expected or do I have a defective nano? Thanks in advance.

    Eric,
I noticed an odd behavior trying to use my nano with my friend's docking station the other day. I would get no sound out of the dock unless I reset the nano. In playing around with it, it seemed that plugging in my headphones caused the audio out through the dock connector to stop. lf I simply reset the nano before connecting to the dock (after unplugging the headphones), then the audio out through the dock worked fine.
It might just be something funky with my Sony headphones, but I didn't have my Apple buds with me to try.
