  • What Technology used for Adobe AIR Installer

Hi...Guys..For Mac environment what technology was used to built Adobe AIR Installer Window, the one we get when Installing Adobe AIR Application.I need to identify the Elements in it such as Agree,Cancel etc..But i am not able to do that..It will be helpful if any one suggest the automation tool to identify those elements so that i can automate the installation procedure of AIR...Plz reply...its an emergency..thanks in advance.

I think comodo code signing certificate is one of the nice option to be added for Adobe Air, as i have seen comodo code signing certificate in other adobe programs. Recently i bought comodo code signing from https://cheapsslsecurity.com/comodo/codesigningcertificate.html, to sign one of my adobe application and it works fine, you can use microsoft authenticode technology with comodo code signing.

  • What HTML and JavaScript engine is used within Adobe AIR on the desktop?

HTML and JavaScript within Adobe AIR are handled by the WebKit HTML/JavaScript engine.

I've made a little headway with this. Within your initHandler just make a call to login:
    FacebookMobile.login(loginCallback, this.stage, [], webview);
webview is a StageWebView instance with the viewPort defined. If I left it null, or didn't set the viewPort nothing happens...
    var webview:StageWebView = new StageWebView();
    webview.viewPort = new Rectangle(0,0,400,400);
I'm now getting a login screen.

  • Programs using adobe air platform

Hello everybody, I have downloaded a bunch of programs that use the adobe air platform. Programs like tweetdeck, twhirl, seesmic, spaz and some other. The thing is that, none of them work for me and I don't know if it's because there is some problem with adobe air not letting them connect properly. They are all programs which allow users to connect to their twitter account, but they just try to log in, and they stay there but nothing happens. Some of them say that they can't connect to twitter, or they just keep logging forever.
The reason why I'm here is because I downloaded like 7 similar programs and not one of them work. So I don't think every single one of them has problems. That's why I'm wondering if the problem could be Adobe AIR? Can anyone please share their opinions on this? Because if Adobe AIR is not the problem I have to start looking somewhere else.
I've already requested support from every single program, to see if they have some solution. I'm just here because I wanna know if the reason why none of them connect could be because of Adobe AIR?
    Thank you so much.

Oh, sorry, my OS is windows vista home premium, and I use mozilla firefox 3.0.10 as my browser. Thank you. I've seen a forum on get satisfaction where people are having the same problem and apparently it's an adobe air problem because it doesn't connect to the internet. The link to that discussion is here.
Is there a solution to this problem? Like what can we do to make adobe air connect to the internet?
    Thank you again so much.

  • Questions about System Requirements for Adobe Air programs

Earlier today I asked someone who runs Tweetdeck if they knew what the system requirements were for running Tweetdeck on my desktop (Windows)
they gave me a link here: http://www.adobe.com/products/air/systemreqs/
    and I found this:
    Windows
    2.33GHz Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD Athlon® 64 2800+, or faster processor
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home, Professional, or Tablet PC Edition with  Service Pack 3; Windows Server® 2003 or 2008; Windows Vista® Home  Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (including 64-bit editions)  with Service Pack 2; or Windows 7
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
    Here are my computer statistics:
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Basic (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_ldr.101014-0432)
               Language: English (Regional Setting: English)

                   BIOS: PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
              Processor: AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-65 (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz

        DirectX Version: DirectX 10
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
         DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode
Will me only having a 2.1GHz processor really affect how my performance is with Adobe Air products/apps in general?

Yes- I've had some lower price pc's using an Adobe AIR app and can tell the difference.
Computers where performance was a huge issue was Compaq CQ56 & Toshiba Satellite C655D
These computers are under 2.0 GHz and the app seems to freeze up on occassion or run slower.

  • Adobe AIR won't install - Windows 7 Ultimate x64

    "Sorry, an error has occurred.
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
Well, I asked myself and verified that I am allowed to install any programs I wish to at will.
I even toyed with adding extra permissions for the .exe and shortcut [see below], to no avail.
I also checked your Adobe AIR installation troubleshooter section before posting. Unfortunately, none of the solutions 100% applied to my circumstances or OS, yet I tried a few anyway and had it confirmed by a Windows dialogue that I need not have bothered as it assured me that they weren't applicable in my case.
I found another thread like mine where somebody suggested creating a shortcut with an additional -uninstall parameter added to the .exe path. It didn't work.
I used Microsoft's Installation Cleanup Utility and that didn't work to "un-confuse" the installer either.
Do you have any more suggestions?
Adobe AIR came with the HTC Sync program for my phone, which appears to have dependencies on it where it won't completely work without it.
Thanks in advance for any input.
ps. I created a new thread because I couldn't find the "reply" button on a similarly unresolved thread regarding Adobe AIR installation issues on Windows 7.

I would like to say thanks to artrose54 and to playswithtech for their thoughtful responses to my problem. I finally figured out which number I was to delete, and then, having made a copy of the number in notepad, deleted it. Upon a restart to my computer I then was able to download adobe air 2.7. I found that I still could not download the shutterfly express uploader, however; so I applied the same approach. I went looking for the number in the registry that corresponded to the uploader. I deleted it; restarted the computer; returned to shutterfly; and then was able to download the express uploader. I am sure I will find other uses for Adobe Air in the future.

    Hi everyone,
Here is the fix that worked for me,
You need to go to start run and type in regedit
now press ctrl+f for find and type in "adobe air" without the quotes then click find next
the first entry it finds is the one I deleted, it is a long number on left side of screen that is greyed just right click and delete it
I then rebooted the computer and ran adobe air installation
and it worked with out a problem
The adobe air log file really doesn't tell u anything but where it tried to find the setup.msi file
but it doesn't exist because of the registry entry that needs to be deleted which is what causes the error
If u r not sure of editing the registry then maybe you know someone that can help you
I hope this helps you out it worked for me

  • How to get Adobe Air-apps to run *properly*? (Voddler ecpecially)

First: I am running AMD64, and have installed the bin32-adob-air from AUR.
The problem is, this does not work as it should. Air apps are never "installed" like they would be in Windows, or Ubuntu with the adobe-air from adobe installed. This causes problems with remembering configs and storing data between instances. Wimp, t.ex. will never remember my password, now matter how many times I check the remember password-box. And When running VOddler it just won't find the config file.
I am trying to run Voddler in linux now, following this. But it won't work.
I just get an "error reading config file" message when starting it using the adobe-air command (ie. the script from the package. Thinking the problem might be caused by the script running air apps from a temp dir, i aslo tried to run
    [gert@blad opt]$ /opt/adobe-air-sdk/bin/adl -nodebug /opt/airapps/VoddlerPlayer/META-INF/AIR/application.xml /opt/airapps/VoddlerPlayer
after unpacking the Voddler Files there, but no luck.
I see that there are a newer version of Voddler out now, and I will try that, but I'd appreciate any help with this spesific issue.
Also, I would like to know if there is any way to get the "full Air experience" where you jut click-and go, and can install Air-apps the simple, proper way "everybody else" does it. Cause Air right now is a major hassle. Is there any chance of getting the Adobe-Air installer from Adoe work on Arch, or at least get a similar result? Integrated in the system, detected in the browser on  webpages etc.

  • Adobe AIR 3 Performance Issues and Code Signing Certificate Problem

I recently updated to Adobe AIR 3.0 SDK (and runtime) doing HTML/Javascript development using Dreamweaver CS5.5 in a Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).
The AIR app I'm developing runs well from within Dreamweaver. But when I create/package the AIR app and install it on my machine:
    1. The app literally CRAWLS running it in my Windows 7 12G RAM machine (especially when I use the mouse to mouse over a 19-by-21 set of hyperlinks on a grid) --- IT IS THAT SLOOOOWWWW...
    2. The app runs fine in my Mac OS X 10.6.8 with 4G RAM, also using the Adobe AIR 3 runtime.
About the Code Signing Certificate problem:
When I try to package the AIR app with ADT using AIR's temporary certificate feature, I get the error message "Could not generate timestamp: handshake alert: unrecognized_name".
I found some discussions on this problem in an Adobe AIR Google Groups forum, but no one has yet offered any resolution to the issue. Someone said Adobe is using the Geotrust timestamping service --- located at https://timestamp.geotrust.com/tsa --- but going to this page produces a "404 --- Page not found" error.
The Google Groups Adobe AIR page is here:

  • Adobe AIR 1.5 - Package AIR installer as a native Windows Executable (.EXE)

    Hello Adobe AIR community,
Is there any way to package the installer for an Adobe AIR application using Adobe AIR 1.5 as an executable (.EXE) file?
I found that this is possible for Adobe AIR 2.0, but it requires an upgrade to Adobe AIR 2.0 runtime. Are there any other options using the Adobe AIR 1.5 runtime?

  • Adobe Air Framework - Where's the Documentation

I'm very confused about how to use the Adobe Air Framework to learn how to update my apps. There are tutorials on the Adobe website, but they're all from either 2008 or 2011 and are discussing Air 1.5 or 2 or 2.5 versions, but since I'm using Air 3.7 I would like to see examples of how to use the Framework.
I'm new to Air, but not to AS3. It sounds like the Framework includes API's that allow you to update apps and more, but I cannot find where the documentation is specifically. I continually find:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/documentation.html
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/air_update_framework.html
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1156048
    http://code.google.com/p/nativeapplicationupdater/
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/updating-air-apps-native-installer.html
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/index.html
and a few others, but I'm hoping someone can help me find what I need. Maybe the Framework hasn't changed from version 2 to 3, but I know it has from another article I read.
I'm using Flash Professional CS6 and working entirely within that program.
    Any suggestions?

I'm just about to head out, but I think these two links are possibly what you're looking for it contains all the documentation you could ever need for the latest AIR SDK's:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/index.html?filter_air=3 .7
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/articles/flashplayer-air-feature-list.html
If it's not I'll post a little more when i get back if someone else hasn't already.
    Edit:
Back now, I so you're looking to implement a form of updating your application from within itself using the Air Application updater. The second link you've provided explains everything on how to do this, just ignore all the MXML and use the snippets that are provided in the examples. There is no difference between the framework released in 2011 (with regards to updating) so any tutorial around this time will be sufficent for you. I quickly googled this one for you and it seems to be easy to understand:

    Hope that helps.

  • Adobe air doesn't submit updated content from ckeditor

    Hello,
I'm wiriting applicaiton using adobe air and part of it is to display in iframe code of website with built in ckeditor (http://ckeditor.com).
The problem is that when I want to submit modified text using ckeditor adobe air send old content.
I'm trying to get new text from ckeditor element using:
         1. CK method "var content = CKEDITOR.instances.editor_content.getData();"
         2. jQuery call: "jQuery("#editor_content").val()"
but both methods return always the initial text, not the modified one. It works without problems with all standard browsers (Chrome, FF, IE etc.).
to test this issue you can open this url within adobe air window (i.e. as iframe):
         http://ckeditor.com/demo#flash
then update content and try to "send to flash". It will send original content, not the modified one.
Does anyone have any idea of workaround for this that can force Adobe Air to send send back updated content of ckeditor ?
I would prefer to find solution on Adobe Air side, without experimenting with other versions of CK or alternative implementations of WSIWYG editors because it's part of bigger project.
    Any adivices welcomed!
    thanks,
    Marek

    The problem is fixed:
With Windows Fix It at least I was able to uninstall Adobe Air. After Reisnatllation of Air and my application the system is running quite wonderful.
    Best regards,
    R. H.

  • Can't download Adobe Air for Legalsounds music downloading service

I have a Mac OS X vs 10.5.8 and I joined Legalsounds a music downloading service. I attempt to download Adobe Air which is their download manager and it wouldn't load. I went to Adobe and it seemed that the Air program is for OS X 10.6 or 10.7. I was wondering whether there's an earlier version of Air that I could use or if there some other way I could download my music to iTunes without using the Adobe Air program or if I must update my software to run that program. My system is currently up to date with all its software and I don't quite know what I need to do to resolve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Adobe AIR Application Installer command-line

Could someone provide the command-line reference (parameters
and usage) for Adobe AIR Application Installer?
    Tks!

    Hey Oliver!
I've applied for an AIR distribution license but I still have
    some doubts.
My application is based in one .air component and another one
service created using C++. So, in order to install my application,
I need to install both applications. I've used the bundled
installation mentioned in the distribution docs, but it is not the
best solution for my problem. I would like to have just one entry
point in the “Add/Remove Programs” applet.
Is there another way to deliver the .air application (e.g.
not using the Adobe AIR Application Installer)?
For example, is it possible get all files needed to create my
.air file and install them without creating the .air file properly?
I mean, is there any license or technical restrictions that
    invalidate this approach?
    Thanks!

  • Need better alternative to Adobe AIR Application Installer

In order to build a double-clickable desktop application,
apparently one has to use the Adobe AIR Application Installer. This
is bad for a few reasons:
    It's not scriptable.
It hard-wires the name of the swf file to load into the
    generated binary.
For Mac OS X, the "swf launcher" should be a simple "launcher
stub". The name of the swf file to load should be read from the
Info.plist file. If it did this, then the stub could be the same
for all applications. For Windows, there could be a simple XML
config file in the same directory as the app that serves the same
purpose as Info.plist on the Mac.
I hope Adobe addresses this soon.

You could make the launcher app itself headless so you don't
    get two dock icons.
This doesn't address the need to have a non-GUI alternative to
the Air Application Installer so builds can be completely
    automated.
It definitely breaks the drag-and-drop of a file onto the
    application's icon.
I never said I have 2 Dock icons. (I already solved that
problem by making the server "faceless" by setting LSUIElement to 1
    in the server's Info.plist.)
Why do I want completely automated builds? Aside from the
ease of just being able to type "ant" and press Return, any real
development group has things such that a "build machine"
automatically rebuilds the app (on all platforms) after ever
developer check-in to check for accidental build breakage. Those
builds also become available to QA for them to test.
Ever time some new development tool comes out where the
authors provide a GUI tool (presumably because they think GUI =
easy), I have to wonder, "What were they thinking?" If the authors
are themselves developers, how can they not see how crippling not
    providing an all-command-line tool-chain is? Don't all non-trivial
development groups do automated builds as described above? The only
answer I can think of is that some
    PHB
somewhere thought it would be a "neat idea" to have an
"easy-to-use" GUI application (because that sells to other PHBs).
As to drag-and-drop: presumably, the swf launcher that gets
generated properly handles drag-and-drop of files onto the
application's icon and Does The Right Thing when it happens (where
"right thing" usually means simply opening the document dropped
onto the icon). Now, since my launcher gets launched instead, that
breaks drag-and-drop unless I implement that functionality myself.
The way I've implemented my launcher is such that, after the
fork(), it's the parent process that exec's itself into the client
thus keeping the original process ID. The hope is that Launch
Services on the Mac, when handling and drag-and-drop event, will
send said event to the original process -- which is now the client
-- and everything Just Works. I have yet to get around to testing
this (I'm busy with other things at the moment); but, if it turns
out that my hope isn't fulfilled, well then I can fall back to
keeping my launcher running to get and forward the OpenDoc
AppleEvents from my launcher to the swf launcher.
So, anyway, back to my original plea: Adobe,
please just give us a command-line replacement for the Air
Application Installer (preferably just a launcher stub that reads
    Info.plist). Thanks.

  • Adobe Air for Older  Mac

I bought a product that use of Adobe Air and says it  should work with my Mac OS 10.4.11. The Adobe Air website says the latest version of Adobe Air is not supported with that OS and refers me to the archived older versions, with no indication that I can see  as  to which one is a workable version for my  computer.

Big question is: Are you on a PPC mac or Intel?
    (Edit)
PPC or Intel is irrelevant from what I've found.
    http://www.oldapps.com/mac/adobe_air_for_mac.php?system=mac_os_x_10.5_leopard_powerpc
Mac OS 10.5 is the minumin to run AIR
Adobe has Air 1.5.3 http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/archived-air-sdk-version.html But there is no support for PPC or 10.4 mentioned.
