Use of Aris models for Guided Procedures or VC possible

Hi,
I know that Aris can export BPEL for importing to XI.
What are the capabilities of using Aris for NetWeaver to model for more UI-oriented processes. Is it possible to use ARIS models for GP or Visual Composer?

Hi David,
The answer to your 1st question is NO. Till NW 7.1, there is no clue on this.
To your 2nd question, there is no noticable enhancement on the GP side in NW 7.1. You can refer to the Developers Guide -> Developing and Composing Applications -> Designing Composite Processes with Guided Procedures section in <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/D958673EF05F4DE10000000A11466F/frameset.htm">SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment Library</a> for further reference.

Unable to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL

Please can you help with this issue.
We are not able to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL.
What we need is to use default credentials to authenticate user to get only those list which he has access to.
clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials
But in this case we are getting error saying ‘The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.’
Instead of passing Default Credentials, if we pass the User credentials using:
clientContext.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("Administrator", "password", "contoso")
It authenticates the user and works fine. Since we are developing a web part, it would not be possible to pass the user credentials. Also, the sample source code works perfectly fine on the SharePoint 2010 environment. We need to get the same functionality
working for SharePoint 2013.
We are also facing the same issue while authenticating PSI(Project Server Interface) Web services for Project Server 2013.
Can you please let us know how we can overcome the above issue? Please let us know if you need any further information from our end on the same.

I sure that CSOM will authenticate without passing the
"clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials" by default. It will take the current login user credentials by default. For more details about the CSOM operations refer the below link.

What to install for guided procedure?

Hi All
I don't know anything about guided procedure. I learned from CAF-GP: Configuration Guide of help.sap.com the I need to edit some parameters in Global Configuration> Server <ID> > Services > caf/eu/gp/model.
I could not find the service caf/eu/gp/model. Do I need to install something?
I am using WEBAS 6.4 SP 15.

Hi Raktim,
You need to be in a NW04s environment to use Guided Procedures. They are not available before NW04s.
This means you need a EP 7.0 Portal and (preferably for production) also a WebAs 7.0 backend.

Mail settings for Guided Procedures

Hi,
I'm having problems having GP send mails.
The settings in the GP Administration are correct. I can send test mails to myself without problems, and did the setup that is described here: [Re: Guided Procedures - set mail smtp host]
Also, I'm sure that my user has an e-Mailaddress and the like, I've set it up properly on R3. Also, when trying to send a mail to a static address (just give it as a value) it still generates problems.
Now when I go to the log, I get these errors, which are odd, considering mail.sap.org is NOT the SMTP server I set up!!
Unknown SMTP host: mail.sap.corp
javax.mail.MessagingException: Unknown SMTP host: mail.sap.corp;
nested exception is:
java.net.UnknownHostException: mail.sap.corp
The question is fairly simple: Where does it say that the SMTP server is that? It's certainly not in Administration > Administer BMF > Clients as it's set correctly there!
Help would be, as always, greatly appreciated!

Hi,
So, to start the Config Tool, double click the configtool script file from <SAP_install_dir>/<system_name>/<instance_name>/j2ee/configtool directory.
When you open it, navigate to cluster-data -> template <name of template> -> instance <name of instance> -> services -> caf/eu/gp/model.
The template represents the usage type installed on your server (for example, EP). It consists of one or more instances that can be configured in a different way.
Next, modify the required system parameters (in your case smtp.server and smtp.service_user_mail) :
a. On the Service properties screen, select a parameter from the table.
b. In the Custom value field, enter a value for the parameter.
c. Choose Set.
The new value appears in the Value column.
In the Template value field, you can see the default value (if any) for the parameter you have selected. You can restore the default template value for any parameter by choosing Restore to Template.

Basically, you can check all defined terminoly in the SAPterm Web Access database with a display user.
For starters, you can also go through the GP "Concepts" section in the documentation - it gives quite a good idea of the terms used and helps it easier to understand what term stands for what in GP

Configure End Point for Guided Procedures

Hello experts,
I am creating a Guided Procedure that needs to retrieve data from the Backend system (ECC 6.0). The portal is installed as a JAVA plugin on the same machine (7.0).
When I choose Connection Defined by System Landscape Directory (SLD), the SLD Connection Name is asked for. Where can I find this property?
The SLD is not setup on the portal but is centralized on the SAP Solution Manager machine.

Do you have an SLD configured? If not you need to do this in Visual Administrator first.
But you can also specify an endpoint without an SLD, you can select Connection Defined by User, and enter the details of the backend system, which I assume you know.

Using FMS2 eclipse plugin for 3.5, is it possible?

Is it possible to use the FMS2 plugin for eclipse I found on the internet with version 3.5 of FMS?
Or will it give to many errors, because coding has changed?

I'd say it's safe to use. Server side actionscript hasn't been updated much since FMS2 (or FCS 1.5 for that matter).

My application is as following i have to initiate a process from a webdynpro for java application and after that i have to send the action to the multiple users..
For that i created a parallel block inside that a sequential block and inside that an action .
In my wdj coding i created a variable user and assigned this parameter for the role of that action.
But the problem is it is not going to the multiple users.
pls suggest me if there is some other solutions to do this.....
Pls give me a solution it is urgently needed

I have to use Stored Procedure in Apex: my goal is to setup RESTful web service for IOS and Andriod alike, but APEX RESTful only supports SQL Report ( the RESTFUL check Box goes away with PL/SQL returning Query report, much to my surprise), I need expose some data and the same time I need insert/update some data when the client consumes our data, a PL/SQL based Report will do, but as I found out only simple SQL report has RESTful service, a Before REGION Process will do too, but web service connection WON'T fire that process (normal page display will fire the process) so I'm out of option.... Man I wish APEX REST is not so so basic....

Using MacBook Pro display for another computer, is this possible?

I have a MacBook Pro and an older Dell tower, i would like to see if I can use an input on the MacBook Pro to view my desktop on the Dell without the use of another monitor clogging up my workspace. Im thinking firewire or something.... i don't know.... Thanks.

You cannot use a display built into a Mac as a monitor for another machine, as no Mac has a video-in port. You may be able to get a workable configuration by installing a VNC server on the PC and then using a VNC client on the MacBook Pro such as this one to control it.
