Use of Bluetooth in iPhone 3G

I was wondering if I am able to send photos, music, and other files from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro using the iPhone's bluetooth features? I was able to pair the MacBook Pro with the iPhone using the Bluetooth, but when I tried to send small files to my Mac, I was not going anywhere.
What are some good uses of bluetooth in iPhone 3G other than using it for headset?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, did you ever get an answer to your question? I just picked up a Jawbone Era and using on an iPhone 4s running 5.0.1. Seems to work fine on regular calls, but not on the built in Voice memos application. It worked fine on my older Jawbone Icon, but haven't tested on the 4s or iOS 5.

Apple, as I'm sure you know, now manage official phone 'unlocks' directly rather than the Newtork doing so.
When a GSM Network Provider buys a consignment of iPhone's they are locked to that carrier and may only be officially unlocked if said carrier requests it. If so, it is Apple who do this, via iTunes.
I am therefore inclined to think that part of the any generic iTunes syncing process involves the transmission of key hardware data, including IMEI, to Apple whenever the handset is synced.
If this is the case and, as each iTunes account is linked to a credit card, were Apple to maintain a database of genuinely stolen phones (ones reported to Police) they could advise said Police force when a stolen phone stuck its metaphorical head over the parapets once again? They would be able to identify the name & address of the new user.
I have spoken to the Police here in Ireland today and they regularly engage with Apple on such matters.
This may not be tracking as we know it Jim, (not using GSM Triangulation or GPS) but it's arguably even more targetted and leaves an indelible fingerprint of guilt on the thief.
The laws here are simple in this regard, if you are in possession of stolen property, knowlingly or otherwise, you forfeit the goods once the Police show up. Whether you get prosecuted depends on whether you stole the goods or were duped into purchasing them.

Yes the voice isn't reaching the amp although it is registering on the input bar in the Sound System Prefs, just won't "play through" as it were. I can't see how it could be done I was just hoping someone might see something I am missing.
It seems a shame that you can't do it as iTunes on an old iBook makes a good juke box for DJ'ing and with everything becoming wireless these days it seems sensible that you could cut that one last wire.

You'd need an app like Skype to video call with other phones.
Data transfer is not supported via bluetooth and iphone to iphone is not supported at all.

iPod Nano are small and they don't use Wi-Fi access so you get less power time on a Nano. As for iPhone, since you got apps, Wi-Fi + 3G access, and everything else, they give you more time so you can keep using. Nanos are ment to listen to music, listen to radio, view your photos, watch videos (without Wi-Fi) and since you got BlueTooth on the nano, it counts as wireless access so it drains your battery faster.

I think I didn't make myself clear. My bluetooth device is paired. If I turn the device OFF while keeping it ON in the iPhone 4, and later on come back and put the device ON, the iPhone doesn't find it. The solution is to turn it OFF in both the bluetooth device and the iPhone and start again, which was not the case with my previous iPhone 3 and is a real pain to have to do this each time... My iPhone 4 works fine with my Bluetooth but for some reason when I use the Bluetooth device above with my iPhone 5 whoever I am talking too can only hear me when it is silent at their end. As soon as they make a noise or a dog barks etc it will cut me off for them to speak therfore only allowing a oneway conversation.
I have reset the Nokia CK-7W, I am on my second phone, I am on my second Sim and have tried to reset the phone back to factory settings and it still happens. Please help me?

Thanks however it is not a headset it is a built in handsfree unit. I have spoken to my husband while he is using the iPhone 4 through the device and it does not happen then only when my iPhone 5 is connected to the bluetooth. Any more ideas?

When using the iPhone 5 and pairing with 2013 Toyota Camry, the bluetooth settings are normal.
When changing to an IPhone 6, there is a problem.
When the phone goes to bluetooth in the car, the volume setting is triggered to increase to top volume of 60.
When we change the setting via directions of Toyota to change the phone volume, the volume goes down but is not reset.
When the phone is paired upon entering the car, the volume goes right back to 60.
Toyota states they have not tested the new phone yet and do not have any solutions.
