Use of COMnn/NUMnn fields in infotype 0032 (Internal Data)

Hi,
Please advise how to use the COMnn /NUMnn fields in infotype 0032 (Internal Data). Those fields are not available as screenfields in the screens of MP003200 and also therefore available for configuration in v_t588m. Those fields look suspiciosly as being mean to provide a subview of it0105 but again not sure how that should work?

Hi Philipp,
The fileds you are referring to are not showing on my system either.
Yet, we are only talking about dynpro 2000, aren't we ?
If they are not present on the screen, there is no way to show them through customization.
If you want to use them, one approach would be to create a custom-specific subscreen and add the standard field in it (I already did that in the past).
There is a 2306 dynpro with a Q-structure that seems to use some of these fields.

Infotype 0032 - Internal Data extend field length

Dear All,
We have a requirement to store employee's office location in SAP infotype through inbound interface from Active Directory. It seems infotype 0032 - Internal data is design to store such information under Work Center fields - Building number (6 char length), Room number (6 char length) & Telephone number but these fields are too small, Can I make these fields long? How? Some of EE's location is very long, so I am looking at around 30 Char so it does not chop-off the office location. Same with Phone number too, should be able to store international numbers with country codes e.g. 61-3- 7890-1234.

Looking into above related threads, I am confused about the ways it could be done. It is obvious SAP has delivered above fields so small and it is necessary for us to make it longer. what is the right way - modify these standard fields (w/ getting access key to change) or create custom fields with same label description - Building number, Room number, Tel. number; which sounds redundant.
And if suggested creating custom fields to standard infotype then how to achieve thru PM01 or shown in above link - Append structure and ETC. I am a functional analyst not techincal person.

Infotype 0032 - why does 'create' have different fields than 'display'

When I create an infotype 0032 record I get 1 field i.e. 'Previous Personnel No.'.
When I go to overview mode there are many other fields i.e. 'Rule', 'Car Value', 'Plate No', 'Asset Number', etc.
How do I maintain or change the entries for the fields in the overview screen, as these are only displayed in the overview screen and not in the 'change' or 'create' screens?

You cannot edit in overview mode, if you are in PA30 then you will need to select one record and then click on edit icon to edit it. It always edita one record at a time.

Updating action type field in infotype 0000.

Update infotype 0032 in user exit ZXPADU02

Hi All,
I have the following requirement.
Telephone extension number is stored in IT0105 and IT0032. When the extension number is updated through ESS, this is stored in IT0105 but it does not update IT0032 which is displayed in MSS.
I need to update infotype 0032 based on the data in 0105.
I thought I could update infotype 0032 in userexit ZXPADU02 whenever infotype 0105 was saved using the function module HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION but it is not working for me.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have to make the function call a separate unit of work.One other option is to put the function call in a report & SUBMIT it from the User exit.

General steps are
Step 1
Using transaction PM01 chose the 'Enhance Infotype tab' and press the create 'All' button.
Step 2
Enter the new fields you wish to add to the Infotype.
Step 3
Once saved and activated the new fields will appear in the Infotype screen and database table

Try using IT Screen Control table T588M with Module Pool MP018300 and check the radio Button for the field Amount as Output only .
If there is no entry for MP018300 in T588M , Create one .Hope this works for you.

Number/ unit field in infotype 0015

Hi Experts,
There is a number/unit field in infotype 0015. What is the exact use of this field? Can we make payments by this field? Like if i want to pay an employee 2days extra Basic salary due to some reason, then how shd i configure my wage type so that system automatically calculate the amount by entering the number/ unit field.

P0000-STAT1 (Customer Specific Status) field on Infotype 0000

Hi All,
I have a requirement on Customer specific status field on infotype 0000, Where I should be able to maintain that field through PA40.
As this field is standardly delivered as output field only through SAP I am unable to force that field as input field in module pool.
did any one used this field before as input field in IT0000? I couldn't find OSS note on this issue.
Please let me know if any one has solution on this.

E-Recruiting Addition field to Infotype 5107

I'm implementing E-Recruiting for a client.
I added the additional field to infotype 5107 Desired Work Location using PPCI. I also created a custom table for Desired Work Location to store the value of Location (county, institution & etc.). When I added the new field to the infotype 5107 it automatically shows up on the Desired Work Location of E-Recruiting page as a text field. I found the bsp for this page it's desLocn_detail.bsp. Also I have to set two field that are already on the page Country and State to a default value. Both are drop down list.
Here's my question:
1.I would like to make the new field list box i think that's what it is called, where the candidates can select multiple locations. How & where can i do this? And how can i link the value from the custom table that i created to the new field that I added to Infotype 5107 to appear on the list box?
2.How and where can I set Country and State field to the a default value? Is this done in the IMG?
3.I'm assuming the deslocn_detail.bsp is a SAP standard BSP. should I modified this bsp to rendered what I'm supposed to do? If i modified this page when the upgrade/service pack is applys my modification will be wiped out?

I think you should take the following approach:
The only sane way to keep multiple values in a single database record that comes to my mind id to create a new table to keep the selections.
It's key should be the same as of the HRP5107 table plus a sequential number for counting selections.
There are further 3 things to consider:
1. Filling up the table before display with current selection.
2. Handlig user selection after submit.
3. Hiding the text field from user input.
ad 1.
I havn't used <htmlb:listbox> before, so I might wrong somewhere, but i guess that you should prepere two tables and pass them to table and selection attributes.
Probably it would be best to store them as attributes of the controller to provide easy access from the bsp.
The proper place to fill these structures is the DO_REQUEST method, probably near the end of the method when all standard stuff is done.
In this method you should read the configuration of available loactions and put it in the 'table' attribute,
and read the table of selections and put them in the 'selection attribute'.
ad 2. The place to handle input is the DO_HANDLE_DATA in the controller. As i've said a haven't used listbox, but probably the are multiple fields with the id of the listbox, each containing a selected item.
You should read them here and place them in the 'table' attribute.
Next you have change the on_save method in the controller (Actually it might be in a parent controller - i haven't checked it).
In there you should insert the values in the 'table' attribute to the custom table with selections (probably you have to delete all entries for the current infotype record first)
ad. 3
Now that i wrote 1 and 2 i see that you can just remove the field from the infotype...

How to use the Cross Reference fields in P4P

I have been receiving questions related to the Cross Reference section from many different customers and partners. This post represents my attempt to describe the Cross Reference Section and the Equivalent Numbers stored within.
Identity
A term that Kelly uses and I will borrow is “identity”. A given specification can have many identities. The basic identity is the specification number generated by GSM. This is useful during early stages of design. Once we get past a draft or development status in the workflow the organization quickly wants to identify the specification in other ways. Examples include:
Execution System Number: Operations and Supply Chain quickly need to formalize an item or material for forecasting, inventory and purchasing…
Custom Numbering Conventions: Sometimes an organization has very specific custom logic for identifying materials. Usually terms like smart numbering are used to describe their methods.
Data Migration Identifier: In some cases customers have extensive data clean up projects. As part of the effort systems and processes are developed and an identity is created. In my experience we loaded a “Base Stock” number to represent Packaging Materials. The label stock that was commonly used was historically not represented so we created a number as part of the migration project.
Identity Functionality:
The Fields: The four major fields that make up the Cross Reference section are as follows:
>>System Name: This field describes the system generating the identifier. Examples I like to use are Oracle EBS or SAP Material Master. Sometimes geography must also be concatenated to the system, i.e. Oracle EBS – NA. This occurs when the customer is a large multinational where multiple ERP implementations exist. Therefore the same material may be known by many different numbers, i.e. Oracle EBS – NA = 77432, Oracle EBS – EU = 88883.
>>System Code: The system code is merely the syntax used during integration. Using CSS or various APIs you may chose to identify the system using an abbreviation, EBSNA or SAPMM.
>>Equivalent: The value representing the identity within a given system.
>>Externally Managed: If you are using CSS or an API to receive Cross Reference data you can define the field as "Externally Manged". When a cross reference is marked in this manner the general user community will not be able to edit the field. Administrators associated with the role [Externally_Managed_Cross_Ref_Admin] can edit the field if needed.
Syndication: While some users enter equivalent numbers manually, others use integration tools to generate and transmit identities. If a given cross reference is marked as “Externally Managed” then users are unable to manually enter data. On initial syndication the specification will not have a given equivalent. The specification is sent to middleware, a number is generated by the appropriate system and the response is sent back to GSM to add the System Code to the specification with the appropriate identity value.
Copy verses Issue:
>>Copy: When a user copies a specification the Cross Reference data is NOT included. Since the identities refer to the originating specification it does not make sense to carry over to the copy. If we did then users would quickly need to delete the data.
>>Issue: When a user issues a specification it maintains the Cross Reference data. This is an important concept because it is expected that a system like GSM will have many issues related to a single ERP #. ERP systems are usually not interested in many of the fields stored in the Product Data Management system.
Reference: As raw materials are consumed as inputs into Formulation or Trade Specifications the organization may come to identify the materials based on equivalent numbers. Therefore GSM allows for an equivalent number to appear next to the GSM number.
Implementation Issue: Ingredients In Packaged Quantities
Some customers run into a situation where the ingredient specification does not represent a packaged quantity. From an R&D perspective the developer does not care if the material comes in a box or a tanker. In this situation the GSM ingredient may be represented in the ERP system by many items and therefore more than one cross reference value. These items represent packaging differences that are important to purchasing, manufacturing, warehousing, and other execution systems.
I hope this helps describe some of the purposes and implementation issues around the Cross Reference field.

You need to get jmf.jar in your CLASSPATH, either on the command line, in an environment variable, by putting a symlink in $JAVA_HOME/lib/ext, whatever works for you. Have you done that? Once it's in the classpath, you can run jmstudio from any directory with the command "java JMStudio".
Items in the bin directory are just shell scripts, run with "sh jmstudio" or whatever suits your shell (on Mac OS X, copy one of these guys and append ".command" to the filename to make him double-clickable in the Finder).

Can I create a custom XMP panel but using the exact same fields from standard XMP panels?

I am new to XMP and not very technical, so please excuse me if this sounds like a stupid question!
I have managed to create my own custom panels for Photoshop using the Generic Panel method with my own custom fields and they work fine. However what I need to do now is create a custom panel that uses the exact same fields from some of the standard panels. The reason being is that I have 4 fields that need to be integrated into another non-adobe system (Extensis Portfolio) that recognizes standard XMP fields, but at present these 4 fields are spread across different standard panels and it would be much easier for the user in Photoshop if they were all together on one panel.
An example field is the "Additional Model Info" field that currently resides on the standard IPTC Extension panel. If I fill in a value in this field on a JPEG then open the the image in Extensis Portfolio, then the field is also filled in in a field called IPTC - Model Info, displaying a key of Iptc4xmpExt:AddlModelInfo.
Is there a way I can take this standard field and use it on a custom panel, so that it can still be filled in in Photoshop and the value viewed in Extensis Portfolio? Sure I can create a custom panel and create a field called "Additional Model Info" but I can't figure out how to connect it to the corresponding field in Portfolio. I tried changing the xmp_property name="Iptc4xmpExt:AddlModelInfo" but this just broke the panel.
Is what I am trying to do possible and if so how and can it be done using the Generic Panel method?
