Use of Digium 24-port FXO analog cards for FreePBX system

Does anyone have experience with the installation of Digium 1AEX2400 Series cards in a FreePBX distro? I am researching a new system and want to see if anyone has successfully used this hardware before, and if there was any trouble installing the hardware that I should know about. It would probably be installed in a Dell R310 1U server.
I have used 8-port Digium FXO cards for many years now. And yet I find very little on discussion groups for either the 8-port cards or their 24-port equivalent.
Any information would be helpful.

Right now I can get a 570 for 175 bucks... R4yMoNd. When I look at the 570 in comparison  to what I have it doesnt look as though itis going to make too much difference. http://www.hwcompare.com/9048/geforce-gtx-570-vs-radeon-hd-5870/ I'm sure however the CUDA cores will speed it right up. I'm no good when it comes to all that so thanks to both you for the help. I have tracked down a 670 in stock (seems tough) for $440 then I need a 700 w power supply for about 70. If the 570 should take care of the problems listed above thats what I'm going for.. Just wasnt sure if it would make the needed difference

I want to use 30  ipads to run kiosk software in my restaurant. Can I use one Apple ID (and one credit card) for all devices?

Alternatively you can always manage your iPads (does not matter how many) with a single apple id and all reporting to your account under "find my device" service. Keeping an eye on all your units. Additionally as you mentioned these are for your Restaurant you may find the solutions offered by this company who creates apps and hardware for this purpose: http://www.spartakioskpro.com
Additionally if you expand beyond those 30 iPads to say 300 you will want to enable or plan on MDM as your best option to automate every ipad to use the same profile and app and ios configuration while also keeping a close eye on all of them via online MDM services like: https://meraki.cisco.com/products/systems-manager

  • Quad port Gig-e card for the Xserve?

I've been playing with link aggregation and noticed a couple of PC PCI cards with 4 trunkable ports. They say that drivers exist for Linux and Unix boxes. Does anyone know of one that'll work on an Xserve? We're changing the way we work to all open files (1-3GB) from the server, all 7 of us. I want to illiminate network bottlenecks but with the limited PCI slots in an Xserve I want to maximize each slot. We will all be aggregating our Quad's dual ports to a compatible Gigabit router which will support 8 aggregated groups of up to 8 ports each. I'd like to do 4 ports for the server. Thanks

    If i may ask,
Are you using the intel cards sold by small tree comm.? or did you purchase the quad port intel cards as an OEM? I purchased the OEM intel Dual port Pro card, and although the card appears to work fine utilizing single gigabit connections, I have NOT had any luck with LINK AGGREGATION, to our Switch. I DO have The Trunks setup on the switch and I believe the switch side is fine since our Xserve is successfully communicating with the switch as a Link Aggregate using the Built in ports of the xServe. Any info would be helpful, Thanks!

  • Question about AirPort card for older system

I have an iMac G5 with OSX 10.3.9. I need to get an AirPort card to install in it, and the local Apple store tech says they don't carry it for that system, and I need to go online and order it using my serial number. The only card I can seem to find on the Apple site is the newer AirPort card that is not compatible. Can anyone guide me in the right direction of how to order what I need on the Apple site by using my serial number to ensure I get the right card?

Some if not most of the information you seek could
    be available through this service self-help page;
but the parts may also be harder to get The main
phone number to the Apple Store (not a local) is
also a place to contact to inquire about getting a
replacement or original part for a Macintosh.
Your computer likely uses the now discontinued
but probably available AirPort Extreme card aka:
    "Optional AirPort Extreme card (802.11b/g)"
{Some iMac G5s were different, and those had
    a "built-in" AirPort Extreme Card (802.11b/g;
so if these failed, they required someone to go
into the computer and remove a part off the
    main logic board and replace it with another.}
When a part proves to be no longer available
through the Apple Store directly or online,
you may be directed to look elsewhere to see
if one exists in the resale market.
In the meantime, you should be able to put
a serial number in a box as directed in the
following page's linked 'online assistant' to
get to the area where parts you could install
may be listed. Some of the computers are
not readily user-updated and so a part in
one model may not be user installed where
in another model it was user installable.
    Use this link:
    http://www.apple.com/support/serviceassistant/overview.html
    To go here:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
{If this system won't let you go into replacement parts
and a way to order them (such as RAM upgrade, w-fi
Airport card, etc) you may have to call the Store's # as
    shown in the online store's web page & ask about it.}
Hopefully the part is a user installed item; I no
    longer have the iMac G5 Service Manual in PDF;
or I could look it up, with part number, in detail.
For more definition in questions regarding your Mac
you could cite more exact model information; as it
appears on your computer's build data outside on
the case and in the System Profiler. Also, a free
database you can download for offline use is
    available from http://mactracker.ca ...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Can I use nvidia geforce gtx 650 2gb video card for after effects?

Hi I saw the list of graphics cards that are compatible with  after effects... and am wondering if the nvidia geforce 650 2 gb would work?
I realized all the graphics cards have cuda cores, the gtx 650 2 gb isnt on the list but it has 384 cuda cores?
    Is it compatible?
    GTX 650 2g:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133474

If it's not on the system requirements list, then After Effects won't use it for GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. Read this page for details about what this means:

  • WAAS 4 port in-line card for resilient WAN links

    I know tha...
" If a power, hardware, or unrecoverable software  failure occurs, the network adapter automatically begins operating in  bypass mode, where all traffic is mechanically bridged between the LAN  and WAN interfaces in each group"
But obviously putting both WAN links through a singel NIC/chassis raises concerns about a single point of failure. Has anyone experienced failure scenarios whereby the NIC fails to bridge?
    Regards,
    JonB

    Hi Jon,
The mechanical bypass relays are independent for each inline group.  I am not aware of any cases where the bypass functionality has not worked properly for the defined failure types.

  • Use of Adjust function to copy standard config for Upgraded system

I have worked on a number of different ERP 6 systems that have been upgraded from previous versions.
Some of the basic standard delivered config will be missing and there is a simple task of using the "adjust" function to copy the standard config  from client "001" to the developement client "XXX"
However I know have a client who has the missing config in the dev client "XXX" but when you use the adjust back to "001" there is nothing there.
Do you know a way to re-create the core config?
An example is in Dispute Management - if you go to the case type config. SAP delivers F_DM as a base - but there is nothing there.
    thanks

Try to copy from  client "000"

  • I have used all the usb ports on the back of my iMac desktop [2009] - in one I have a hub - too many?

The longer I have had my 2009 desktop iMac, the more I am needing usb ports.  I only have 3 on the back.  Currently 2 are used for the 2 printers I own and the other has a 3 branch hub in it for my mouse, keyboard and card reader.  I have the mouse and keyboard attached this way as the cords work better for me in my workspace.  I am using one of the ports on my keyboard for my mp3 player.  Now I am branching out into the computer world and have tried using a flash drive.  However when I tried plugging it into the other usb port on my keyboard, I get the message that there isn't enough power to support it.  Same message when I tried one of the three ports in my hub.  So the only way I could get my flashdrive to work was to unplug a printer, plug in the flash drive till I was done with it and then plug in the printer again.  Since I am sure that this plugging and unplugging constantly would not be a good thing, I am now contemplating getting a better hub so I could permanently have a usb hub open for my flash drive.  I figure I can always use a port on my keyboard for my card reader as I don't use that very often.  My question is: "If I do get a better hub to put on my 3rd port on the back of the computer, will that be too much for the poor thing?"

Generally, you should use hubs (of which the keyboard is one) for devices which don't need to get their power from the USB port ("bus-powered"). Portable drives (including flash drives) are bus-powered; printers and other larger devices which have separate power cables are not. So the printers should attach to your hub, and small devices should connect directly to the Mac.
Now, some hubs are actually powered themselves, and these are better suited for powering small devices.
There are some good options here:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/search/usb+hub
Are both your printers USB-only, or can they be networked (either wired or wirelessly)? That would save you some ports.

  • Use of creating a port

    hi to all,
wat is the use of creating a port other than identifying a RFC destination?

    Hi Bindu,
    Here is extracts from saphelp.
You use the port maintenance in the IDoc adapter to establish an RFC connection to the system that contains the metadata that the IDoc adapter requires to convert IDocs (Intermediate Documents) that have been sent to it to IDoc XML format. This system is defined by the sender port and the client in the IDoc control record. It is either the sender SAP system or an SAP reference system.
The metadata comprises the IDoc structures for the corresponding IDoc types. Using this port you can call this data either directly at runtime or you can load it to the Integration Server (the system with the IDoc adapter) beforehand.
You must maintain a port in the IDoc adapter for all clients in each SAP system that you want to connect to the Integration Server using IDocs.
This is also the case for receiver systems if they are subsystems (non-SAP systems). Systems of this kind are defined using the receiver port in the respective communication channel.

  • The Perfect I/O Card for CS3

As I mentioned earlier, all I miss from my capture card days (Pinnacle DV-500 and Matrox RTX10) is the ability to have a global Input/Output (I/O) solution built into the Premiere application. The downside, as several posters have mentioned, of the Matrox capture cards (also I/O devices) is these things cause all sorts of problems and crashes -- probably because they are trying to do too much at once. My problems stopped when I removed my Matrox card (and smashed it with a hammer). That said, I never had any problems with my Pinnacle DV-500 capture card when running with Premiere 6.0 and 6.5 so it IS entirely possible for a capture card to actually work.
Thus, I wish Adobe would either put out their own capture card or team-up with a better manufacturer -- and get serious about I/O in their this or next edition. One no longer needs to process on a capture card as the computer's CPU now has enough power to do the job -- especially the Quad processor which seems to work well with CS3.
Getting back to I/O -- all Adobe would have to do is sell, or get someone to sell, a compact simple card that had just the following I/O ports:
    A. Firewire I/O port (1)
    B. S-video I/O port (2)
    C. 2-channel Audio I/O (4)
Forget the usual composite ports, they take up too much room. S-video is better anyway and most analog tape/DVD machines have S-video anyway. Thus A - C would total only seven ports (1+2+4) and these seven ports would be compact enough to put on one card -- thus no "break out box" would be necessary to add expense to the device. This would give all the necessary ports to handle digital and analog I/O and again, no processing (or processor fan) would be needed, thus reducing cost of manufacturing.
I don't know about you, but I still have a LOT of analog footage to digitize as I have been shooting (2-inch, 1-inch, 3/4-inch, beta, VHS) video since about 1978. Thus I really need reliable, easy to use, analog I/O and I imagine any professional, who has been in the business for a while, has lots of analog footage in their library. With the price of STOCK footage these days, I'm not about to forgo my library just because it analog. In many cases, my analog footage actually looks better than my digital footage as the analog footage often acquires a "film look" as it ages.
So I BEG Adobe (or one of their reliable partners) to put out a cost-effective I/O card (less than $300) that has seven (7) lousy ports; does NO processing and WORKS internally with CS3 with NO conflicts. That would really be the ticket(1)
    James Jaeger
    (1) For those of you will say: "Just purchase a converter box and it will do all of the stuff you require above." I already have purchased two (2) converter boxes and I am not entirely happy with them. First of all they do NOT put ALL of the I/O controls INSIDE Premiere CS3 as the capture card/software "solutions" do. Second, these converter boxes are temperamental. They often take time to "find" their connections and often one has to jerry-rig their computer and peripherals to make them perform. For instance, I am currently using the Canopus Grassvalley converter box and this thing will NOT convert data from the computers firewire port into analog data for, say, an external NTSC monitor. Instead, I have to take the computer's firewire output into the firewire port on a digital camera and then come OUT of the cameras analog ports into the converter box and THEN out of the converter box to an NTSC monitor. Complete horse. There are other problems, but you get the idea.

The Xena 2K is dual link HD SDI 4:4:4... its the best you can get...
SDI is the way to go... there is an optional BOB that offers all sort of I/O connections

  • Can I purchase a Thunderbolt card for my Mac Pro?

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if Apple sells any Thunderbolt cards for a system which does not currently have the Thunderbolt ports on it?  Thanks!

True TB has to be part of the motherboard and not just an add on.
Take a look and see what Intel has posted about specification and technology.
You want more bandwidth? for...? storage? video? RAIDs?
What do all the add on cards you can buy and upgrade lack? that TB would add?
Name? Apple is good at giving names for tech features.
There are USB3 cards and SATA 6G. You are limited of course in the number and choice in graphic cards, and in aux power connectors.
But I don't see TB as being needed in workstation. And it won't be until PCIe 3.0 / LGA 2011 socket and new motherboards. And Intel Ivy Bridge.

  • VIDEO/SCREEN CARD FOR XSERVER G5

Does anyone please know what Video card I can install into an XServer to connect a monitor and where I might be able to buy one in the UK?
I have tried a few but none seem to work!
    Thanks

Old Mac PCI video cards. All the way.
We have three XServe G5s at my office. We got none of them with the built-in video because I don't need to spend 100 bucks on a new card with all sorts of extra VRAM when I can get a used card for less than $20. All I need is basic video.
I went down to my local used mac store and bought 3 video cards for $15 a piece. These cards were formerly in Macs like the Blue and White G3 tower and the G4 towers (before they went AGP).
Just make sure you get cards that are 3.3V or universa PCIl. The 5V PCI cards from the pre-G3 days are not compatible with the XServe. AGP cards are not compatible either.

  • Best video card for my mac

    Hey,
I just need help finding the best video card for my Powermac g4 fw800. One that my system can use fully. I currently have a Radeon 9000Pro with 64MB. Thanks
    ~R

    Hi
The ATI 9800-256MB is currently the best card for your system. Actually, there are no other NEW video cards available.
BTW, xlr8yourmac hasn't done a video card review in years, they are just a bulletin board/newsletter now. If you are interested in seeing current testing of available video cards, check out:

  • Best Graphics Card for Photo Editing

    Hello All,
I am a professional photographer. I currently use Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 4.1. I am in the process of having a new computer built just for editing my photography. The board will be an ASUS P9X79 with an intel Core i7-3820 and 16 GB memory. The technician building the computer would like a recommendation of the fastest and or best graphics card for editing still images.
All of my work is done in RAW from a 5D MII. 21 megapixel.
Processing speed has always been a bottleneck for me and Lightroom 4 has not helped.
Can anyone please recommend the best or fastest graphics card for this system?
    Thank you, Jim

I would focus on your PS CS5 requirments. If you intend on using a wide gamut display at some point I'd give serious consideration to graphics card that will truly support 30 bit display data (10bit/color) in PS CS5/6.There are only a handful of graphics cards that actually support a 30 bit data path with PS CS5/6.
