Use of Holiday calendar

Hello Friends ,
Can anybody tell me the use of calender from r/3 to sap bi ? In what cases this calender is useful in SAP BI ?
Regards
Nilesh Vakil

Hi Nilesh,
In BI you could have data loading daily once.
On holidays you would like to switch the pattern of loading since on holiday R/3 would not have had any transactions/ very few transactions since business was closed for that day and the user may agree for having no refreshes on holiday.
Then these holidays can be used to finsh some admin activities , like statistics loading, cleaning up by compressioin or reloading of data , technical content loading which otherwise would not be possible due to continuous reporting requirement of the data or by locking due to daily data loading...
You could schedule your process chains according to certain calendars, considering holidays.
Certain countries have bank holidays or national holidays on different days and if you would like to use these holidays in a aproductive way in BI you could plan you loading and maintainance strategies and get it agreed form the client.
Regards,
Sunmit.

  • HOW TO KNOW SORT KEY USED IN CURRENT HOLIDAY CALENDAR

    Hi Experts,
Could you please let me know how to know the sort criteria used in current Holiday calendar??
Any easiest method please let me know.
I know one way which is going to Public holidays and see where used but if there is any other way please do let me know.
    Regards,
    Vamshi

    Hello,
Sort Key :Helps to group together all public holidays valid for a country. It is a 3 character key and I recommend its naming convention to be Znn where nn stands for country grouping. Hence, the sort keys for public holidays for Australia, India, New Zealand will be as shown below:
    Australia        -        Z13
    India             -        Z40
    New Zealand  -        Z43

  • Absence Quota Change ( Without Time Evaluation )-Change in Holiday Calendar

Hi Experts, We have scenario where we need to change the holiday calendar. Add additional holiday. This can be done through SCAL and after that we can generate work schedule through PT01 for the month where the holiday is added. We are not using time evaluation. Our time manangement status is 0 in IT0007. The input I require is how to correct the absence quotas of employees for which they have applied leave for the period where the new given holiday is created. Please advise. Thanks in advance. Regards, IFF

    Hi,
Standard SAP provides TCode PT_UPD00 for this purpose. It calls program RPTUPD00 which creates a batch input session for revaluating absence and attendance records. You can use this program to resave all the leaves which overlap the given date which is now a public holiday.
I hope this information is helpful for you and resolves your query.

  • ICal 'Show Holidays calendar' not showing holidays in Australia after upgrading to Yosemite.

Hello, I had been in Italy before moving to Australia and I had set Show Holidays calendar in iCal to display Italian holidays. When I've moved to Australia, I've changed the regional settings to Australia and therefore iCal was showing Australian holidays. After I've upgraded to Yosemite, I can't see any holidays anymore. I tried to uptick 'Show Holidays calendar' and reboot Yosemite, then tick it back and it is still not working for Australia. if I change my regional settings for instance for Italy, it works. It just refuses to display Australian Holidays so for now I'm forced to use Google calendar subscription for public holidays.
How can I restore the iCal 'Show Holidays calendar' ?

    Hi guys,
I had this problem too. I resolved it by going into System Preferences  > Language & Region and making sure the primary language was "English (U.K.)" under primary languages (i.e. at the top of the list of preferred languages).
I always had this set before, but I think upgrading to Yosemite changed this setting to "English" (without the "U.K.) which I guess is a generic "countryless" language. I believe the holidays setting in the calendar needs to know which country's holidays to display.
Hope this helps this waiting for a fix...

  • Can we manually select the Holiday calendar in iOS 7.1?

As per my title, is this possible without changing the regional setting? As I'm using Singapore as my regional setting but I'm from Malaysia thus the holiday calendar is showing SG by default. Is there any way to change it to Malaysia without changing the regional setting? Else if I change the regional setting it will affect my language and also the formatting.

Switching to day view doesn't crash calendar but I can't launch the calendar app in iOS 7.1 (on my iPad 2) if synch is in and it was last in day view. It crashes on launch.

    Dear All,

the error clearly saying that you dont have holiday calendar for 01.01.2012,, so please change it using PT02 to avoid the error.
then you check what exactly system is doing.
you have to create a wsr with one month extra validity than the exact periods required to avoid the future errors as you are getting now.
system always takes one month extra validity it is standard functionality.

  • Holiday Calendar requirement

    Hi,
Need your inputs to achieve a following requirement:
In a year or month, most of the Wednesday's are holiday however few of the Wednesday's will be working day. So we want to know if there is any chance of changing the setting in Holiday Calendar to declare wednesday as working day, at that point of time (that is, when we come to know this week, that next week wednesday is a working day).
    Welcome your suggestions.
    Surya.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to use the functionality of special days for this purpose.
Create two selection rules for day types - 21 and 22.
They should be similar to the date type rules currently assigned to these WSRs.
Delimit the WSRs and assign them from the effective date.
Go to Table T553S and assign the relevant date for rule 21 and the relevant date for 22.
Generate the WSRs and you will have the public holidays assigned for these days.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Notes to be implemenented after Factory and holiday calendar are extended.

    Hi All,
Since most of SAP Factory and Holiday Calendar used had Validity date that ends on 12/31/2010 we have extended them till 2020.
This was done manually using SAP note 1529469 and 501670.
We have also implemented SAP Note 1532398 to avoid jobs going to dump that are running to deleted old spool request in SAP.
We would like to know if there are any other note to be implemented in our SAP production system as a part of year end activity related to Factory and holiday Calendar.
We could find the below note under 1532398
1534735 - Job terminates with error message BT 518
1532398 - Spool requests are no longer deleted as of beginning of year
574628 - Change calendar dates in production system
    538344 - Transporting calendar dates
    501670 - Public Holiday Calendar Creation/Change
    1529649 - Factory Calendar expires 2010
    Thanks

    Hi
I suppose the notes 1529649 - Factory Calendar expires 2010 and 501670 - Public Holiday Calendar Creation/Change are sufficient for the extensions.
I don't any extra tasks are involved during the year end activity as far as factory / holiday calendar is concerned.

  • How to create a moveable holiday and assign it to a Holiday Calendar?

    Hi Experts,
How to create a moveable holiday and assign it to a Holiday Calendar?
    Regards,
    Tomesh

    Hi Tomesh,
Floating Holidays are created for holidays for which the dates are not decided for the years ahead or dates may changes each year or when a unusual holiday is just introducted for one year.
1.Use transaction SCAL or use the IMG path to the holiday calender.
2.Create a new holiday and select the option " is a movable holiday".
3.Fill in the " public holiday attribute tab" and hit insert date.
4.Fill in the year, month and date for the floating holiday or you could do multiple years at the same time if dates are know and hit create.
    5. The new public holiday is created.
6.Assign the new holiday to the holiday calender, while saving you will get a message that " an irregular public holiday is created and being save hit ok. This message will appear in cases when the holiday calender validity and the validity of the floating holiday are matching.
Generate the work schedules and check if th holiday appear in the work schedule.
    Award point if useful.
    Thanks
    Gita

  • Holiday calendars

    Hi all,
I need your suggestion to solve this issue related to public holiday calendars. Jul 4th(paid) is a public holiday and that has been assigned as a fixed day/date when created. In the calendar where it is used, the validity dates have been given as 2004-2005 and it was not used for the year 2006. Instead some other name was used (unpaid). Now, I need to assign the July 4th (paid) public holiday to the same calendar.
When I go in to assign holiday, it does not show the July 4th (paid) holiday to be reassigned. The overall validity of the calendar is till 2007.
    July 4th - 2004 - 2005
                - I need to assign this to 2007 again
    Please advise.
    Reward points will be given.
    Chris

I've been arguing this issue with SAP for a long time.  We have the same problem only ours is more complex because we have over 20 sites and in any given year a site may or may not take a particular holiday.  As a result, we ended up creating a separate holiday for each site (i.e. 20 4th of Julys).
Prior to 4.6c it was possible to assign the same holiday more than once.  In 4.6c SAP changed transaction SCAL so that it is no longer possible.  The problem is with the transaction itself.  You can modify table THCOD directly using SE16 and everything (time, payroll, etc) will work fine but then transaction SCAL will abend.   What we want to do should be possible since the end year is a key field.

  • US Holiday Calendar not syncing

Ok, so I use iOS devices and a PC for work. I use iCloud for my calendars, contacts, etc. I use the web portal to view my calendars. I wanted to add US holidays to my calendar for 2015. The built in one in iOS will not sync to iCloud. So I created a new calendar called US Holidays and then I sent the holiday .ics calendar to my email account, when I click on it, it allows me to add all events to my holiday calendar.
This is where the problem starts. iCloud shows the new Holiday calendar I created, but will not sync all of the events that I add from the .ics. If I go in and manually modify one of the events, it then syncs to iCloud and the web calendar.
    Thoughts? Suggestions?
BTW, last year when I did this, it worked perfectly and has worked fine for other calendars (sports team schedules, etc.)

The best way I found to do this is here: http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-add-us-holidays-to-iphone-calendar/
Type in the the url from iCal in Mavericks for the Holiday calendar: p19-calendars.icloud.com/holiday/US_en.ics
    It works great.

  • Non-standard date format yyyymdd in holiday calendar?

    Hello,
I currently implement the Mozilla Dutch Holiday calendar http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/caldata/DutchHolidays.ics on iPhones, iPads, Thunderbird with Lightning and Android-based telephones.
That calendar contents show up in the iPhones, iPads and Thunderbirds. But a number of different apps on the Android telephone either show nothing or report an invalid date format used in that file. At first I assumed that there was some error in those apps. But one of the creators informed me that according to the specification as shown in http://www.kanzaki.com/docs/ical/date.html the date format in that Mozilla Holiday Calendar is not according to the spec. It contains dates in the format 4-1-2 instead of 4-2-2.
Here is one I found. I did not try to find all of them.
    DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:2010828
    DTEND;VALUE=DATE:2010829
    Will this be corrected?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards

Now we are into territory I am unfamiliar with, so I looked around.
Looks like first file a bug. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
I suggest copying product etc from this bug. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=953257
seek advice there in exactly what to do, but it looks like uploading a corrected ICS is about it.
You might add the module owner to the bug https://wiki.mozilla.org/Modules/All#Calendar

  • Add Holiday Calendar to SharePoint

I'd like to add Holidays to our SharePoint calendar. We are using MOSS 2007 and Outlook 2003. I can't seem to figure out how to import an outlook calender with holidays to SharePoint calendars or how to impost and Excel holiday calendar to SharePoint. I think my best bet is Excel. If you know how to import a holiday calender to SharePoint via Excel, will you provide me step-by-step instructions?

    Hi.
Export your calendar from Outlook using these steps:
    File -> Import and Export
Select "Export to a file", Next.
Select "Tab separated values (Windows)", Next
    Select your Calendar, Next
Select y export file name and folder, Next
    Select Finish
Click Ok in the Set Date Range" dialog.
Import the file into a new list using these steps:
    Site actions -> Create
In the "Custom Lists" section, select "Import Spreadsheet"
Enter a name and description for your list
Browse to your exported text file.
    Click Import
Excel will start up with a Import dialog.
In the import dialog, select "Range of cells"
Click in the "Select range" text box.
Select the Subject to End Time columns and drag down to all rows you want to import.
(So it will result in something like MyExportedCalendar!$A$1:$E$46 , I had 45 + header rows)
    Click Import.
The data is now imported in to a list.
Select View and -> Create View.
    Select "Calendar View"
Enter a name for the View, for example My Calendar View
In the Time Interval section, select Begin -> Start Date and End -> End Date
In the Calendar Columns, select Month View Title -> Subject, Week View Title -> Subject and Day View Title -> Subject
    Click Ok.
You now have a Calendar view your imported items.
    Hope this helps.

  • Planning time fence using a specific calendar

    Hello
Planning time calculation is using workdays and the factory calendar.
I have a customer request to have the planning time fence use a specific calendar, not containing holidays and non-active periods. Is there a possibility in ERP to define a specific calendar for planning time fence.
    Rgds
    Pascal

    Dear PPIO,
This is with ref to your response to the above question. I too have a similar problem.
We have a factory Calendar (US) that is used on our day to day business. This factory calendar does not include the weekends and public holidays.
I created a SAP Planning Calendar(DSI) via MD25 but when i ran the MRP it still gives me the result based out of the Factory Calendar.
I would like to see my MRP to propose including weekend and public holidays.
If you could send me your id , i could send the screen shots.

  • Problem in maintaining Public Holiday Calendar

    Dear All,
I have to maintain Public Holiday Calendar for 2009. For that I have maintained the holiday dates in Change Public Holidays. Please guide me as to how do I assign these holidays which I have maintained to Public Holiday Calendars being used in different PSA's?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kanupriya

    hi,
for appearing in the holiday calendar of 2009, the Validity year of ur holiday calendar should contain the year  2009. say,
    Valid  Fr.year  2008
           To year  2010
For the day to be a OFF day u have to re-generate the existing work schedule as i mentioned earlier. Only then the new holidays assigned to ur holiday calendar will be taken by the Work Schedule.
U must give the same Holiday class to ur new holidays (Same that u used to create ur earlier holidays to avoid confusions......)
