Use of iPhone 6 with Yosemite on Macbook Pro

My Apple ID (password and email) are different from my iCloud ID.  This prevents me from being able to answer cell calls on the laptop.  How can I change either the Apple ID or iCloud ID so they are the same sign in and account?

After several restarts of the older Mac, they now see each other in the Airdrop window. I forgot to write that I already set the Airdrop window on the newer Mac to show older Macs before. The restarts helped in a way. I don't know what was wrong.

  • How can I sync my iPhone 4 with a new MacBook Pro without losing all my data and settings?

I used to sync my iPhone 4 with a PC running Windows XP until the hard drive died. Thankfully, I already had a backup of all my iTunes media (Songs, TV Shows, Movies, Podcasts, Apps, etc), so when I bought a new MacBook Pro, transferring my iTunes library was easy.
My problem now is that I want to sync my iPhone 4 with my new MacBook Pro without losing all the data and settings. I have already used iTunes to back it up and transfered my purchases onto the mac. I just need help to sync the iPhone with the Mac without losing app data, emails, contacts, settings.
Everytime I click on the tabs (to sync contacts, apps, music, et al), I get an error message that reads:
"Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone “Ryan's iPhone” will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library."
What do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • Using a Pac File with the new Macbook Pros

I have recently purchased a new Macbook pro and to access the internet at my college, I need to use a Pac File, and My class mate has the drop down option to select it due to their macbook pro is an older model and my new macbook doesn't, how do I get the "Using Pac File" option?
Thanks people in advance for your help!

OS X Lion is not being included as an install DVD with new Macs. (It does come pre-installed.) Apple is offering a $69 USB stick with Lion pre-installed for owners would like to own a solid state means of recovery. Lion is strictly internet based with its recovery features - in other words - Macs will need to be able to connect to the internet to restore a computer with HDD failure (or some other issue where you need to restore the system.)

After researching this topic, I found the placing an old SIM card in a new iPad would be impossible. There is no way for consumers to remove the back cover... Without dropping it off a building. My best suggestion: Use the current plan up first. Then buy a new plan.

  • Can I use a NTSC monitor with my European MacBook Pro?

    Hi
I moved from Europe to the US and took my Macbook Pro with me. Now I need a second computer monitor (thinking Dell u2410). Can I buy one here in the US or will the whole PAL vs. NTSC thing have an effect?
    Thanks for helping
    Cheers
    Jakob

It will be fine. A Dell U2410 or any other monitor will work fine with your MacBook Pro.
PAL vs. NTSC is not a consideration in computer displays. It really pertains only to video encoding (as in movies/DVDs/TV broadcasts), not the video output from the miniDisplayPort on your MacBook Pro.
Also, FYI, you can play both PAL and NTSC videos/DVDs on your MacBook Pro and show them on your external monitor.

  • Can I use Office:Mac 2004 with my new MacBook Pro

I just got a brand new MacBook Pro, and I'm trying to install my office:mac 2004 edition, but it seems to not be working. Do I have to repurchace office:mac or can I just upgrade.

The 2004 version of Office will not work on Mac OS X Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8) because it uses Power PC code. Power PC support was dropped in Lion and later. Version 2008 or 2011 should work fine.

  • Anyone using two external LCD with a recent MacBook Pro?

    Hello,
Does Thunderbolt support chaining multiple monitors(e.g. non Apple Thunderbolt Display) to a MacBook Pro?
A Thunderbolt hub will be required, some external HD have two TunderBolt ports.  A device with three ports will be required (one input, two ouptputs).
Anyone have seen such device ?

  • Airdrop gone with Yosemite on MacBook Pro mid 2009

Why was Airdrop removed on a MacBook Pro mid 2009? It worked just fine under Mavericks and before. How do I get it back?

  • I can't sync/use my iPhone 5 with my 2008 Macbook

    I have a 2008 Macbook.
Still in great condition, up to date with software, Version 10.5.8, which is prohibiting me from downloading the iTunes that I need to sync anything from my Mac to my iPhone 5. HUGE PROBLEM
Any way around this? I feel like i'm forced to purchase a new Mac! (which isn't bad right!!?) but I am unable to at this time.
Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks friends,
    Kabeyn

Your MacBook can be upgraded to at least Snow Leopard. Check the link below for requirements and ordering info.

  • How do I sync the contents of my iPhone 4s with my new Macbook Pro?

My iPhone has content on it that is not backed up up anywhere else because my old computer died.
Is there anyway to move the content from my phone onto my new laptop?

excellent point about time machine, using that monkey now. Too bad it's not a real time machine though, drats.
Also I'm new to this forum, but thought there would be some apple people here. I'll have to put my question in with them, I'm sure it will be high priority
RE: One Way Sync I'm well aware of this (and I have other complaints about the accessability of those media's as well) My response/question though is specifically about audio, and even more specifically something I did not mention is that I would need to wipe my phone in order to re-sync. Is there no way to sync with a new library and keep the contents of your phone on your phone, allowing a user access to read and write, or in the case of audio files, just write or trash/remove?
This draw back just makes me want to unlock the phone so I can hack in, I just don't have the time or desire to use my time in that way. It was already hard enough to get the SDK working.
    Thanks for the response though.

  • Fan runs constantly with Yosemite on Macbook Pro 13, Mid 2010

Have noticed this recently, mainly since the 10.10.1 update.
    It's a 2.66 Intel C2D with 8 gigs of OWC RAM and a 240GB Crucial SSD
I work mainly from home and have it at my desk. It's hooked up to an Apple Cinema HD Display 23"
All updates done to software, permissions repaired, PRAM flashed, etc
Turned down the transparency, turned off some items in spotlight search, still no change

Have you tried a SMC reset?

If no success, open Activity Monitor to ALL processes and look for applications that may be taking a lot of CPU resources.

  • Can I use an LG GP08LU11 with a 2012 MacBook Pro Retina?

I have the above super drive. It is USB2.0 and shows up as a remote drive in Finder but I cannot Get Info on the drive or see the DVD that I have put into it.

You could purchase 2 mini displayport to DVI adapters ($30 ea) and use the 2 Thunderbolt ports. I have one external DVI monitor connected to 1 of my Thunderbolt ports. Works great!
Sorry my mistake. You said non-Retina.
